## Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful ERP with a learning curve worth taking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kiril S. | RTR Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

The depth of functionality is impressive – we cover general ledger, AP/AR, inventory, and reporting all from one platform without needing third-party add-ons for the basics. The integration with the rest of the Microsoft ecosystem (Outlook, Excel, Power BI) is genuinely useful in day-to-day work, especially being able to pull data straight into Excel and push edits back. Role-based dashboards help keep people focused on what's relevant to them, and the dimensional accounting setup gives us flexibility to slice financial data in ways that would be painful in smaller systems.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

The user interface still feels dated in places and navigation can be clunky when you're jumping between modules. Initial setup and configuration require real expertise – it's not something a small team can spin up without a partner or consultant. Performance can slow down on heavier reports, and customization often pushes you toward AL development rather than simple configuration. Documentation exists but is scattered, so finding the right answer sometimes takes longer than it should.

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives us a single source of truth for financial and operational data, which removed a lot of the spreadsheet juggling we used to rely on. Month-end close is faster and more auditable, intercompany transactions are easier to manage, and having AP, AR, and GL in one place means fewer reconciliation headaches. The reporting layer, once set up properly, lets finance produce numbers without constantly chasing other departments for data.

  ### 2. All-in-One ERP That Grows With Your Business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SOMYA A. | Marketing Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

One of the newer things I really like about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is how much focus they’ve started putting on AI and automation.

Recently, features like AI-powered agents (for things like sales orders and payables) are really interesting. They can automate repetitive tasks like processing emails or matching invoices, which saves a lot of manual effort and reduces errors. It feels like the system is becoming more proactive rather than just a tracking tool.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

I think Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is quite powerful, but there are a few areas where it could definitely improve.

One thing is the learning curve. For new users, especially those without an accounting or ERP background, it can feel a bit overwhelming in the beginning.

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to manage finance, inventory, and sales through disconnected tools. Business Central has unified everything—improving accuracy, reducing manual errors, and enhancing collaboration across departments. It’s helped us streamline supply chain and inventory management significantly, leading to better customer service and reduced operational costs.

  ### 3. Powerful Reporting and Centralized Data, But Costly Licensing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Usman S. | SharePoint Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

We have been using BC for around 3-4 years. Its made life easier for all depts as everything is kept in the same area. Also so much easier to create reports based on depts, nominal codes or country offices. Next steps is connecting it to our donor management system

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

Within the interface, there is a lot going on and seems very busy. Also the licensing is very expensive for the staff that upload the invoices. The error reporting is not great and take more time to figure out the issues.

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had an outdated software before and also different offices used different systems such as quickbooks online and FundEZ. When we rolled out BC, it streamlined our process and made reporting and analytics much easier. Also prevented any data loss

  ### 4. Powerful All-in-One Platform with a Learning Curve for New Users

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhananjay L. | Officer Team member , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offers seamless integration across finance, operations, sales, and inventory management — all in one centralized platform. I really appreciate its user-friendly interface, real-time data insights, and the flexibility to customize workflows according to business needs. The fact that it connects effortlessly with other Microsoft tools like Excel, Outlook, and Power BI makes it even more efficient for day-to-day operations. It simplifies complex business processes and helps improve decision-making with accurate, real-time information.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

While Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a powerful and comprehensive solution, it can sometimes feel complex for new users, especially during the initial setup and configuration stages. The customization and integration process may require technical expertise or support from a partner, which can increase implementation time and cost. Additionally, report customization options could be more intuitive, as creating tailored reports sometimes involves advanced knowledge of Power BI or extensions.

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central helps solve challenges related to manual data handling, disconnected systems, and lack of real-time visibility across departments. It centralizes financials, inventory, sales, and operations into one platform, allowing for better collaboration and faster decision-making. Automation of routine processes reduces errors and saves time, while built-in analytics provide clear insights into business performance. Overall, it has improved efficiency, accuracy, and productivity, enabling smoother day-to-day operations and stronger control over business growth.

  ### 5. Business Central as a Reliable Single Source of Truth

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason M. | Software Manager, Manufacturing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

Single source of truth. This has been a huge issue for us in the past, before using Business Central.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

Processes have a few more clicks and more people involved

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having everything in one place is a big help, and it’s nice not having to hunt down invoices across different systems—some in QuickBooks, some in our homebrew ERP, and others in ecommerce.

It has also solved our warehouse to shipping issues as we now can follow one project in one place

  ### 6. Great Unified Interface, but Overall Experience Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles B. | Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

What I love best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is how it acts as the "connective tissue" for an entire organization, bridging the gap between finance, sales, and operations within a single, unified interface.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

The "Scalability Ceiling": While it’s fantastic for small-to-mid-sized businesses, organizations often find that once they reach a certain level of global complexity or scale, they outgrow it faster than expected. If you hit that ceiling, you’re looking at a major, disruptive migration to a more robust platform like Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central primarily solves the problem of "data fragmentation," where essential business information is trapped in disconnected, siloed applications that don't talk to each other. By centralizing finance, supply chain, and operations into a single, unified system, it eliminates the inefficiencies of manual data entry and cross-platform reconciliation.

  ### 7. Steep Learning Curve and Complex Dimensions Slow Business Central Adoption

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

The best part of Business Central is its seamless integration with the Microsoft 365 stack. Being able to manage quotes, invoices, and customer data directly within Outlook or export live data to Excel for real-time manipulation is a massive productivity booster. It removes the 'silo' feel of traditional ERPs and makes the data accessible to the team in tools they already use daily.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

The initial learning curve can be quite steep for users transitioning from simpler accounting software. While the interface is familiar to Microsoft users, the depth of the settings and the logic behind 'Dimensions' requires significant training and time to master before a team can feel truly proficient

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software helps us solve workflow bottlenecks through its native integration with the Microsoft 365 stack. Being able to process orders directly from Outlook and automate approval workflows has streamlined our procurement cycle. This has benefited us by increasing our transactional speed and allowing our team to focus on strategic analysis rather than repetitive data entry.

  ### 8. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central: ERP for Improved Productivity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

The best feature about MS Dynamics 365 Business Central is the ERP capability. The feature of connecting various departments into one centralized system. This makes generating reports so much easier because data is consolidated from various departments. Once it is setup and configured, it is very easy to use and makes work so much easier.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

The main part I do not like about MS Dynamics 365 Business Central is the setup or configuration process. It is a quite involving. I think it can be made simpler than it is.

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem that this product has help to solve is the reporting capability. Generating reports is so much easier now than before we had the system.

  ### 9. The Best ERP Solution for Our Business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sahil R. | Technical Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

It's best ERP platform, especially for developers like me as it has clean ,structured and Extentions based AL Language which helps to extend standard's functionality easily and helps in customization.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

The think i disliked is not about MSD 365 Business Central but it's related to it's documentation and lack of learning resources.

Also reporting (especially RDLC layouts) can sometimes be challenging and time-consuming.

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business Central enables organizations to centralize their finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, and operations within a single system. As a developer, I appreciate how it lets me create customized business solutions through AL extensions, all while preserving upgrade compatibility. This approach greatly reduces the effort required for long-term maintenance and allows for quicker delivery of solutions tailored to client needs.

  ### 10. Powerful Integration Capabilities, Steady Learning Curve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad T. | Senior Project Manager

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

I really like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central's seamless integration with all the tools, especially in the Microsoft ecosystem. The SaaS deployment is great as it removes the need for infrastructure management, patching, and upgrade projects, letting teams focus completely on deliverability and value creation. The financials have a solid and simple structure, which I find reliable with strong governance through posting logic, dimensions, and audit trails. The personalized dashboards and Power BI integration allow for clean, crisp, and beautiful dashboards. AL extensions and APIs enable customization while protecting the base application with future updates. It also supports organizations as they mature, without forcing an early move, which I appreciate.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central?**

There are a few product aspects of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central that could be improved. One issue is that its simplicity is sometimes too much, and it needs a bit more for users who want more functionality. Managing multiple customizations and ISVs along with updates becomes cumbersome. Operational users often struggle, as the UI, while logical, is not always intuitive for warehousing. Advanced manufacturing and warehousing often require third-party apps. The standard reports are adequate but very limited, requiring a lot of customizations. Integrations are complex, and Microsoft updates, while beneficial, can disrupt customizations. High transaction values can bottleneck the system, causing performance degradation. Early design decisions like COA dimensions and posting groups are hard to reverse and can impact long-term usability if rushed.

**What problems is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central resolves disparate systems and data silos, enhances real-time visibility for financial operations, automates workflows with Outlook and Teams, and scales easily. It offers strong security, audit trails, and customizable APIs without disrupting core systems.
