HOA Software

Typically, HOA is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best HOA Software.

Homeowners association (HOA) can be managed through a few mediums, though the most closely related software category is association management. These are usually not specific to homeowners associations, though some are, they provide the tools necessary to operate all kinds of associations. Association management software helps users store and grant membership rights, manage payments, and organize events. Billing can be a key component to managing an HOA, so look at our billing software category if that is your main goal. These tools help process, document, and store billing information. Fundraising and non-profit accounting software can also help HOA managers accomplish their goals. Fundraising software will provide everything users need to organize fundraisers, track donations, and manage donor credentials. Non-profit accounting tools are similar to billing, but come equipped to features to assure compliance with non-profit regulations.

“Xero Makes Invoicing and Expense Tracking Effortless for My Freelance Business”
What do you like best about Xero?

I use Xero to manage all the billing and expense tracking for my client-based business. It makes it easy to create invoices for ongoing projects, set up and schedule recurring invoices, and send automated payment reminders to clients. I can also snap photos of receipts to record expenses while I’m on the go. On top of that, I use Xero to run basic profit-and-loss reports so I always know how the business is performing from month to month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xero?

While the platform itself is great, the pricing has steadily increased over the past couple of years, which can feel a bit steep for a freelancer or solo business owner. I’d love to see a more budget-friendly tier aimed at independent contractors who don’t need advanced corporate features but still want unlimited invoicing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?

Here is a shorter, more natural version that still covers everything they want to hear:

Xero solves my biggest business headache: manual bookkeeping. It completely automates my invoicing and expense tracking, saving me hours of administrative work every week.

The UI / UX is clean and simple, so I can see my cash flow at a glance without needing an accounting degree. The Integrations with my payment apps are seamless, and the overall software Performance is always fast and reliable. While the Support / Onboarding process was smooth when I first signed up, their help center can sometimes feel a bit automated. That said, I really appreciate their new AI / Intelligence features that smartly predict account codes to speed up my daily reconciliation.

My only complaint relates to Pricing / ROI. The software saves me a ton of time, but recent price hikes make the subscription feel a bit heavy for a solo provider. Despite that, the time saved still makes it a worthwhile investment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Update after over 2 years of using the Zeffy Platform.”
What do you like best about Zeffy?

The issue is how difficult it is to see the donation for Zeffy and that it starts at 17 percent which makes people think that's just a standard fee. Other than that they continue to be 100% free and have a nice interface that is user friendly. There are many options for ticketing and services and even volunteers. They now have a nicer CRM and Have a Facebook group now for Zeffy users that can ask questions about how to do specific functions in the platform so you are not relying just on customer service.. they have a. Very nice CRM I have integrated Zeffy with Zapier but it wasn't easy or clear cut. The performance has been good so far and it has not failed to go through the payment process or volunteer sign up ever. IT is trying to incorporat AI, but I stay away from that kind of stuff on Zeffy, so I don't really use the AI/ intelligence feature it has. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zeffy?

So. The issue is that you can't just uncheck the donation for Zeffy and you have to go to a multiple choice box. Then hit custom, then manually type the number 0 (zero). But to the normal eye it looks like the price went from $25 to $30. (Their standard is 17%. I still think for a free donation platform it's good, but I've had to put extra work to make videos and write and tell people how to avoid the Zeffy contribution. Also I have no way of knowing unless I ask, if they paid it or saw my video or not. If they made it easier to understand that the Contribution is optional and start at a less percentage rate, that wouldn't make it look like your trying to hid the fee. “Powerful tool for donation campaigns, but pay attention to the data”
What do you like best about Donorbox?

One thing I’ve really been appreciating lately is the new Donorbox dashboard. It gives a more immediate view of performance, especially the “Amount Raised” section, which now lets you quickly compare results with the previous year. That kind of context makes a difference when you’re trying to understand if a campaign is actually growing or not.

I also like how donation sources are now easier to track and visualize. It’s simpler to see where donors are coming from and which donation methods are working better, without having to dig too much.

The biggest improvement for me is the way top donors are displayed. The new layout makes it more intuitive to identify and keep track of your most valuable supporters. Overall, the dashboard feels more actionable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Donorbox?

In my point of view, the donor experience can be improved, when it comes to updating personal donor details. Requiring users to create a Donorbox account just to manage their information adds some friction, and simplifying that would make things smoother for the donors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Donorbox solving and how is that benefiting you?

I simplified the donation process for users. And this has increased and facilitated the donations.

I have implemented Donorbox mainly to raise one-off and non-regular funds. Also, I can clearly see what the source of the donation is by tracking it using UTM technology in the URLs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“User-Friendly Platform for Campaigns, Donations, and Events”
What do you like best about Givebutter?

What stood out most to me about Givebutter was how effectively it combined fundraising, donor engagement, campaign management, event coordination, and communication tools into one easy-to-manage platform. Instead of relying on separate systems for donations, outreach, ticketing, and reporting, everything stayed centralized and much easier to coordinate operationally.

The campaign setup and customization features were especially useful because fundraising pages, donation workflows, event registrations, and supporter engagement could be launched quickly without requiring technical expertise. The peer-to-peer fundraising functionality was another major advantage because supporters could create and share their own fundraising pages, which helped expand campaign reach without adding extra administrative workload.

I also liked the clean UI/UX and mobile-friendly donation experience. Donors could contribute quickly with minimal friction, while reporting dashboards provided clear visibility into donations, campaign progress, and supporter engagement trends. Automated receipts, donor tracking, and communication tools also reduced a lot of repetitive follow-up work.

Another unexpectedly valuable feature was the AI-assisted donor insights and engagement visibility. The platform helped identify donor activity trends and simplified communication planning for campaigns and follow-ups. The integrations and low operational cost compared to managing multiple tools separately also made the workflow more efficient overall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Givebutter?

One limitation I noticed is that the reporting and donor management functionality can feel somewhat limited compared to more advanced enterprise CRM platforms. While the standard dashboards and exports work well for day-to-day operations, more detailed segmentation and custom reporting sometimes require additional manual cleanup or external tools.

I also experienced occasional UI clutter as more features and campaigns were added, which can slightly affect navigation efficiency for newer or infrequent users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Givebutter solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using Givebutter, fundraising activities, donor communication, event coordination, and reporting were spread across multiple disconnected platforms. That created duplicated work, manual data reconciliation, inconsistent donor tracking, and unnecessary administrative overhead.

Givebutter solved this by centralizing donations, peer-to-peer fundraising, event ticketing, communication workflows, donor management, and reporting into one platform. Instead of manually coordinating donor lists, campaign pages, receipts, follow-ups, and fundraising reports across separate systems, most workflows became automated and much easier to manage.

For example, campaign creation, donation tracking, automated receipts, supporter outreach, and event coordination could all be handled from one dashboard while donor engagement and fundraising performance remained visible in real time. The peer-to-peer fundraising features also helped expand outreach without increasing operational workload significantly.

The biggest benefit was reduced administrative effort, faster campaign setup, better donor visibility, improved fundraising coordination, and a smoother giving experience for supporters across both mobile and desktop platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Smooth Transition with Sage Intacct: Easy Interface, Fast Reconciliations, Great Integrations”
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

The interface makes everything easier. When we migrated to Sage, I was really worried I might not be able to understand how it works, but the interface made the transition much smoother. I was able to find everything I needed quickly and navigate through the system with ease.

For reconciliations, it has made the process so much better—especially my accounts receivable reconciliations, which are usually a lot to manage. With one journal, everything was cleared up, and matching my bank transactions with the relevant accounts became straightforward.

It also integrates easily with JP Morgan bank and with Bill.com, including Spend and Expense and AP. I also like that all the reports I need are produced with ease—literally just one click away. When we got set up, we were given practice accounts to analyze and learn from, without the risk of making serious mistakes. I honestly believe moving to Sage Intacct was a good move for my company because it integrates so well with almost all the applications we use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

It has not yet been able to integrate smoothly with Dental inteligence which was recommended prior to migrating to Sage intacct. That the only complaint l really have with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before migrating to sage intacct l had to manually do Accounts Receivable reconciliations which was time consuming since they made up majority of my bank transactions. Now with sage l don't have to do them individuall l just have to upload one journal and everything will clear up. This has honestly time saving and have reduced my workload by a lot. I do get to download my reports quicker no matter how big the document is. I have not been using it for long but so far it does seem worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Great Reporting and Scalable POs, but POS Integrations and Custom Reports Need Work”
What do you like best about NetSuite?

NetSuite has great reporting, especially for sales by item, transactions, inventory management, YOY item sales, and sales by customer. We use a lot of this information to help strategize for future-year sales and to support demand planning for our stores. The PO system is very user-friendly, and the overall system is highly customizable through custom reporting and saved searches. The platform is also scalable and well suited for growing businesses, and it can be tailored to meet the needs of different-size businesses through its many integrations and add-ons. They also offer live events with knowledgeable industry leaders, which can be invaluable depending on the topic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

One issue is that it doesn’t connect with POS systems like Square or Shopify unless you purchase additional software, which defeats the purpose—especially when we’re already paying a high price for multiple systems. At the moment, we export our sales from Shopify and Square, then export and import our inventory from NetSuite back into Shopify and Square. Overall, that workflow is tedious and time-consuming.

The custom reporting options are great, but I wish there were a more user-friendly way to build, organize, and manage those reports. SuiteAnswers can be helpful, but if you don’t already have prior knowledge of how something works in NetSuite, it can be difficult to navigate and learn. The system can also run very slowly when generating reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?

Having everything in one place on a single platform—inventory management, sales, reporting, accounting, and purchasing management—makes things much easier. I also like the real-time dashboards for sales, inventory, probability, and operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ReadyMembership?

I love how well the website integrates with the AMS, making it seamless to properly market benefits and services to our members. The platform is easy to use and does not require a technical background to comprehend or manage. We have found numerous ways to create efficiencies thanks to the platform's flexibility, and I also appreciate that we have been able to add enhancements that were previously been cost-prohibitive with our previous platform. As an added bonus, Pixl8's support staff is phenomenal and friendly, and I truly appreciate the extra mile they go to ensure everything is always working smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ReadyMembership?

I just wish I could spend every day working with their team. I love them all! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ReadyMembership solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pixl8 has solved so many pain points for us. Here are a few of the most noteworthy problems they’ve helped us address.

Our student membership application process used to be completely manual. Roughly 600 applicants would complete a form, and a staff member had to enter each one into our AMS by hand every year, since we couldn’t previously run them through a renewal process. Now it’s all handled seamlessly through ReadyMembership.

We also used to have a take-home exam that relied on a downloadable PDF. Applicants had to print about 20 pages, handwrite their answers, scan everything, and then submit it for approval. Thanks to the Pixl8 team, our exam has now been digitized — they were able to figure out a way to make it happen!

Finally, our certification application process used to be extremely time-consuming. It involved downloading and manually completing PDF affidavits, waiting for sponsors to download the PDFs and write comments, and tracking where applicants were in the process through spreadsheets. Now the entire workflow has been converted into a 100% digital application and approval process, which has cut down a significant amount of staff time and our applicants can now obtain their certifications in a timelier manner. I think because of this I have not dug deeper into the features or how else I could be using it. I do not feel that it's really clear what it's doing or how it's set up. Overall, it’s a well-balanced tool that combines simplicity with powerful functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Refrens Accounting?

At Tech Daddy Global Solutions, while Refrens works well overall, there are a few areas for improvement.

Some advanced features and integrations can be expanded further, especially for scaling businesses. Occasionally, minor performance lags or UI refinements could be improved for a smoother experience.

“Tabs Streamlines Billing with a Clean UI, Flexible Invoicing, and Strong Integrations”
What do you like best about Tabs?

What I like best about Tabs is how much it actually simplifies the messy parts of billing that used to take up way too much time. The UI is clean and intuitive, so I can jump in, generate invoices, or adjust billing terms without hunting around. I especially appreciate how flexible it is—handling things like custom pricing or mid-contract changes doesn’t turn into a manual workaround anymore.

The integrations have been a big win too. Everything syncs cleanly with our other systems, which has cut down a lot of the back-and-forth and reconciliation work we used to deal with. It’s also just fast and reliable—I don’t have to worry about delays when running invoices or pulling reports.

The AI feature for contract uploads saves me a lot of time each cycle and makes the whole process feel way less manual. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tabs?

What I dislike about Tabs is less about major flaws and more about the typical friction that comes with implementing a powerful billing system.

On the UI/UX side, while it’s clean overall, there are moments where more advanced workflows (like complex contract configurations or edge-case billing rules) aren’t as intuitive and require a bit of trial and error. There’s definitely a learning curve once you move beyond the basics.

Integrations have been solid, but getting everything mapped correctly during the initial setup took time. Aligning data between systems—especially if your CRM or accounting setup isn’t perfectly structured—can require extra effort and validation upfront.

From a performance standpoint, it’s generally reliable, but large data operations (like bulk updates or historical adjustments) can occasionally feel a bit heavy.

Pricing-wise, like most billing platforms, it’s an investment. The ROI is there, but it becomes clearer over time as you scale and fully utilize the platform. Early on, it can feel like you’re paying for more capability than you immediately need.

Onboarding and support are helpful, but implementation still requires internal alignment.

For AI and intelligence features, while useful, they still feel like they’re evolving. Overall, most of the downsides are tied to the complexity of billing itself rather than Tabs specifically, but it does mean there’s some upfront effort required to get everything running smoothly. What problems is Tabs solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tabs is solving the biggest pain point we had with billing—too many manual processes stitched together across different tools. Before, we were juggling spreadsheets, our CRM, and our accounting system just to get invoices out the door and make sure everything tied correctly. Now it’s all centralized, which has made a huge difference in both speed and accuracy.

For me personally, the biggest benefit is how much time it’s saved during each billing cycle. What used to take hours of double-checking formulas and reconciling data now happens in a much more streamlined way. The UI makes it easy to see exactly what’s going on with each customer, and I don’t have to dig through multiple systems to get answers.

The integrations have also been a big part of that improvement. Data flows more cleanly between systems, so we’re not constantly fixing mismatches or chasing down discrepancies. That alone has reduced a lot of back-and-forth internally.

Performance-wise, it’s reliable enough that I don’t have to think about it—it just works when we need it to, especially during critical billing runs. And from a ROI standpoint, it’s been worth it just based on time savings and fewer errors, which ultimately impacts revenue accuracy.

Support and onboarding helped us get to that point faster than expected, especially on the scheduling side of things. There’s still effort required on our side, but having guidance on how to structure things properly made a difference.

One thing I didn’t expect to rely on as much is the AI layer—it saves us a lot of time. And having our contracts easily accessible is a nice benefit.

Overall, Tabs has taken something that used to feel pretty fragmented and made it much more controlled and predictable, which has been a big win for our workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Communication Issues Deteriorated Trust”
What do you like best about Checkbook?

I appreciate Checkbook for its unique ability to issue paper checks, which is a valuable addition for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Checkbook?

They were fine for a number of years but things dramatically changed this year. With one day notice they changed their processing timelines from 1 day to 3 days. They then had a series of errors that extended the 3 day fund hold to 6 days. They have done a terrible job of communicating, have been combative, and have turned into an awful partner. They are also, with no notice, instituting burdensome rules that I have not seen from other processors and offering no justification for those rules. My guess is that they had a major fraud incident. Something definitely changed on their end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
