What do you like best about Xero?

We’ve used Xero for a number of clients, mainly UK-based, and the interface is genuinely quite clean compared with some other tools. It’s straight to navigate, even if you’re not in it every day.

Bank feeds and reconciliation run pretty smoothly most of the time, and the match suggestions are actually useful for speeding things up during month end close. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xero?

The search feature isn’t very good compared to QBO. The Manual Journal interface isn’t great either, and recurring journals can be a bit tricky to set up and manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?

One thing that really good about is the integrations, especially with Gusto, Brex, and Mercury. The bill syncing from these platforms works really well and honestly saves a lot of time on the bookkeeping side. It reduces a lot of the manual work we’d otherwise have to do.

For us, it mainly helps in keeping client books more organized without spending too much time on initial setup. What do you like best about Zeffy?

I appreciate the simplicity and no fees with Zeffy. I really like that it offers a download in Excel format, which makes it easy to sort and change the data, and create necessary reports for registration at various checkpoints like the check-in desk and raffles. The initial setup was very easy for me, thanks to my banking background. What do you dislike about Zeffy?

I've had some issues with using Zeffy for a couple of different campaigns, where each campaign has its own QR code. It's been a bit challenging explaining to the different members who are not technology-oriented that you can't just use a QR code over and over again. You have to use the specific QR code for the specific campaign. Maybe Zeffy could offer a master QR code, so that all the different campaigns can have the same QR code. What I really appreciate about Givebutter is that it works as a streamlined, all-in-one platform for most nonprofits. Before signing up for Plus, I relied on several different tools—Mailchimp for email marketing, Eventbrite for ticket sales, and a bunch of spreadsheets to track donor and fundraising data. Givebutter has made my job easier by serving as a central hub for most of what I was already using. I also appreciate how fast and responsive the team is, especially after joining. What do you dislike about Givebutter?

There are some limits on customization, especially around user permissions. I wish there were a way to tailor a user’s role so they only have access to certain features, since every situation is different. I also wish there were more options for customizing emails and texts, including additional templates to choose from. Another improvement would be the ability to send text messages back and forth through the Engage tab; that would be helpful when I need to contact a donor without having to use a cellular device. What do you like best about Stampli?

I really appreciate how easy it is to navigate Stampli. Its setup provides a very user-friendly experience when reviewing invoices. The information is presented clearly and is straightforward to follow. I also found the initial setup process to be very quick, which was a big plus for me. Navigating the viewing features is simple, and I like that you can download or print documents directly from the review page.

The Dashboards and reports page is another valuable aspect for business use. Having all the information consolidated in one place makes searching for and locating what you need incredibly easy.

Customer support is excellent as well. The team is always available and quick to assist, making it easy to reach out whenever you need help. They are dedicated to resolving any issues effectively and efficiently.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoy using Stampli for business invoicing. I use this software daily and have become very proficient with it. Pixl8 has solved so many pain points for us. Here are a few of the most noteworthy problems they’ve helped us address.

Our student membership application process used to be completely manual. Roughly 600 applicants would complete a form, and a staff member had to enter each one into our AMS by hand every year, since we couldn’t previously run them through a renewal process. Now it’s all handled seamlessly through ReadyMembership.

We also used to have a take-home exam that relied on a downloadable PDF. Applicants had to print about 20 pages, handwrite their answers, scan everything, and then submit it for approval. Thanks to the Pixl8 team, our exam has now been digitized — they were able to figure out a way to make it happen!

Finally, our certification application process used to be extremely time-consuming. It involved downloading and manually completing PDF affidavits, waiting for sponsors to download the PDFs and write comments, and tracking where applicants were in the process through spreadsheets. Now the entire workflow has been converted into a 100% digital application and approval process, which has cut down a significant amount of staff time and our applicants can now obtain their certifications in a timelier manner. What do you like best about Bill4Time?

What do you dislike about Bill4Time?

The calendar is buggy and it doesn't offer me the option of seeing all the calendars of the whole office at the same time. I coordinate the schedule and I need to see everyone's availability. What problems is Bill4Time solving and how is that benefiting you?

We keep practice info at our fingertips and use it to track time. I also like the task tracking and the ability to set up task flows that trigger the next step on completion of the previous. The flexibility has been the main benefit for us. We’ve been able to configure different pricing models and contract terms without workarounds, and adjust things as the business changes. What do you like best about Checkbook?

I appreciate Checkbook for its unique ability to issue paper checks, which is a valuable addition for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Checkbook?

They were fine for a number of years but things dramatically changed this year. With one day notice they changed their processing timelines from 1 day to 3 days. They then had a series of errors that extended the 3 day fund hold to 6 days. They have done a terrible job of communicating, have been combative, and have turned into an awful partner. They are also, with no notice, instituting burdensome rules that I have not seen from other processors and offering no justification for those rules. My guess is that they had a major fraud incident.
