I use Expensify for expenses related to work, like travel and social events. I appreciate how it makes expense submission and approval easy. I like the simplicity and UI, as well as the new AI features. The automatic scanning of expenses and flagging errors are great because they help me submit my expenses faster and save time. The AI that leaves comments inside reports was not really helpful because it tried to analyze the discussion between me and the expense approval, but the summary was weird. I think later it was removed. The automatic scanning can be improved too, as it still can't fully understand the content of the expense if the bill is in a non-English language. We use Expensify regularly at work to manage employee expenses and reimbursements. I personally use it to submit expense reports for travel, meals, and other work-related costs. The receipt scanning feature is very helpful because I can upload a receipt directly from my phone, and Expensify automatically extracts details like the amount, date, and merchant.
I also like how expense reports are organized and easy to submit with just a few clicks. Our finance team uses Expensify to review, approve, and reimburse expenses, so the entire process stays centralized and transparent. Expensify works well overall, but sometimes the receipt scanning is not fully accurate and needs manual correction. Uploading multiple receipts at once can also feel a bit slow on the mobile app. These are minor issues, but improving scan accuracy and performance would make the experience smoother. Expensify uploads everything automatically! I love that it automatically codes or categorizes most of my expenses, so I usually only have to review and add a note. It is such an intuitive platform that learns from my spending habits! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software sometimes miscodes my expenses, so I have to doublecheck everything. It also takes longer than I would expect for some expenses to upload to the website, so I have to wait a few times a week to submit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The biggest win with Expensify is how little thinking it requires from users. Scanning receipts auto categorizing expenses, and sinking everything into one place has made expense reporting almost effortless. I've been using Expensify for several months now to manage both personal and business expenses, and the thing I like best is how straightforward and intuitive the whole process feels. Uploading receipts takes seconds I just snap a photo, and the app's SmartScan l usually captures all the key details without any extra typing. What I appreciate most about Expensify is how straightforward and intuitive it makes the process of expense reporting and reimbursement. Fairly simple QBO integration. Easy for employees to use and submit expenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Integration tradeoffs - If you want to export reports with multiple locations, you need to do so with a journal entry. Ex. Manager travels to different plants. But, expensify does not provide tax support for journal entries. If your expenses have tax rates - and what expenses don't have taxes - then your journal entry reports will fail often. This is not a supported pathway by expensify, not sure why they provide the option.
Customer support - There is no account contact person. You have to use a generic chat service. The system seems designed to frustrate you out of getting help. It took days to start a ticket with them, I had to follow up every week to see if there was any progress, and was told they were working on it. I never got a resolution to the problem. It is easier to track expenses and I believe its easy to view and approve the expenses as well. I like the category wise bifurcation. On my laptop, it flows nicely and the legacy version, in my opinion, is more versatile. Payments and reimbursements are better there as you can easily create a report there. I would prefer it was also segregated date wise and a subtotal was displaced for each date. Mobile app needs improvement. It could be similar to SmartReceipts app where it is much easier to upload and submit the receipts. The UI needs a lot of improvement. The team should focus on the app from the perspective of a new user and right now for a first time user, its a bit confusing. Also, the app reached through the inbox option should be the face of the app when you log in. Also, the SQL sorting that the app uses is not great as it returns false data.
