# What is the top-rated practice management software for law firms?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hey folks, looking for recommendations. Our firm is exploring <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/legal-practice-management">practice management platforms</a> to streamline casework, client communication, and billing. There are so many options out there, and I’d love to hear from people who’ve used them in real life.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">From the G2 Grid, here are some of the top-rated platforms:</p><ul>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/clio-clio-manage/reviews"><strong>Clio Manage</strong></a><strong>:</strong> The clear leader with strong satisfaction, huge market presence, and a reputation for being the go-to for firms of all sizes.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/smokeball/reviews"><strong>Smokeball</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Also has high user satisfaction, focused on automation and efficiency, especially for small to mid-sized firms.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/8am-mycase/reviews"><strong>8am MyCase</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Seems like solid all-in-one platform (formerly MyCase) with good balance of features and affordability.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/lawmatics/reviews"><strong>Lawmatics</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Known more for client intake and marketing automation, but still a player in practice management.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/assembly-software-assembly-neos/reviews"><strong>Assembly Neos</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Good satisfaction scores, reviews note it's easy to use and flexible regarding customization, and automation</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/filevine/reviews"><strong>Filevine</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Tailored case management workflows, popular with firms that want customization.</li>
</ul><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Other platforms I often hear about (but not in this grid snapshot) are PracticePanther, Amberlo, and Litify.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">For those of you running firms, which of these platforms has actually worked best day-to-day? And do the big names like Clio justify the price, or are mid-tier tools like MyCase and Smokeball the smarter move?</p>
