What do you like best about Xero?

I use Xero to manage all the billing and expense tracking for my client-based business. It makes it easy to create invoices for ongoing projects, set up and schedule recurring invoices, and send automated payment reminders to clients. I can also snap photos of receipts to record expenses while I’m on the go. What do you dislike about Xero?

While the platform itself is great, the pricing has steadily increased over the past couple of years, which can feel a bit steep for a freelancer or solo business owner. What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?

Xero solves my biggest business headache: manual bookkeeping. It completely automates my invoicing and expense tracking, saving me hours of administrative work every week.

The UI / UX is clean and simple, so I can see my cash flow at a glance without needing an accounting degree. The Integrations with my payment apps are seamless, and the overall software Performance is always fast and reliable. While the Support / Onboarding process was smooth when I first signed up, their help center can sometimes feel a bit automated. That said, I really appreciate their new AI / Intelligence features that smartly predict account codes to speed up my daily reconciliation.

My only complaint relates to Pricing / ROI. The software saves me a ton of time, but recent price hikes make the subscription feel a bit heavy for a solo provider. Despite that, the time saved still makes it a worthwhile investment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

The interface makes everything easier. When we migrated to Sage, I was really worried I might not be able to understand how it works, but the interface made the transition much smoother. I was able to find everything I needed quickly and navigate through the system with ease.

For reconciliations, it has made the process so much better—especially my accounts receivable reconciliations, which are usually a lot to manage. With one journal, everything was cleared up, and matching my bank transactions with the relevant accounts became straightforward.

It also integrates easily with JP Morgan bank and with Bill.com, including Spend and Expense and AP. I also like that all the reports I need are produced with ease—literally just one click away. When we got set up, we were given practice accounts to analyze and learn from, without the risk of making serious mistakes. What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before migrating to sage intacct l had to manually do Accounts Receivable reconciliations which was time consuming since they made up majority of my bank transactions. Now with sage l don't have to do them individuall l just have to upload one journal and everything will clear up. This has honestly time saving and have reduced my workload by a lot. It helps eliminate repetitive manual work that shows up in many business processes, such as copying data, sending follow-ups, tracking approvals, or updating multiple systems. Power Automate can take over these repeated steps, reducing human effort and minimizing errors. As a result, I spend less time on operational tasks like manually tracking UAT updates, following up on Jira/GTM requests, or consolidating data.

Another advantage is that, instead of waiting for development resources, business users can build and adjust flows themselves. NetSuite has great reporting, especially for sales by item, transactions, inventory management, YOY item sales, and sales by customer. We use a lot of this information to help strategize for future-year sales and to support demand planning for our stores. The PO system is very user-friendly, and the overall system is highly customizable through custom reporting and saved searches. The platform is also scalable and well suited for growing businesses, and it can be tailored to meet the needs of different-size businesses through its many integrations and add-ons. What do you dislike about NetSuite?

One issue is that it doesn’t connect with POS systems like Square or Shopify unless you purchase additional software, which defeats the purpose—especially when we’re already paying a high price for multiple systems. At the moment, we export our sales from Shopify and Square, then export and import our inventory from NetSuite back into Shopify and Square. Overall, that workflow is tedious and time-consuming.

The custom reporting options are great, but I wish there were a more user-friendly way to build, organize, and manage those reports. SuiteAnswers can be helpful, but if you don’t already have prior knowledge of how something works in NetSuite, it can be difficult to navigate and learn. What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

What I liked most about QuickBooks Online was how effectively it centralized invoicing, expense tracking, reconciliation, reporting, and operational accounting workflows into one cloud-based platform. In daily work, handling financial tracking manually across spreadsheets and disconnected systems created delays and unnecessary reconciliation effort. QuickBooks Online simplified that significantly by keeping transactions, invoices, bank feeds, and financial visibility organized in real time.

The bank-feed synchronization, invoice management, bulk uploads, and reporting dashboards were especially valuable because they reduced repetitive manual accounting work and improved accuracy during operational tracking. The integrations with banking systems, payment tools, and operational software also improved workflow coordination considerably. I also appreciated the UI/UX because newer users could adapt quickly without requiring extensive accounting expertise.

Another strong advantage was the cloud accessibility. Teams could review invoices, expenses, and financial summaries remotely without requiring installation-heavy desktop environments. What do you like best about Rillet?

Starting from implementation the experience was amazing! I've been part of ERP implementation projects that have taken 12+ months, whereas we were live in ~9 weeks. The implementation team was really knowledgeable and took the time to understand our processes and help us design / build the system that would scale with us.

We've been able to reduce our timeline to reconcile cash from 5 days to 1 day leveraging cash rules and AI-enabled cash matching automation. This as well as the native subledgers for previously manually tracked prepaids, fixed assets, and deferred revenue, have allowed us to reduce our month-end close timeline from 12-14 business days down to 5-6 business days.

Also, the customer support team at Rillet is fantastic! They do a great job of listening to customers, understanding pain points, and offering solutions at an incredible pace. I've worked with other software solutions where it's nearly impossible to get a hold of a support team member, so this was definitely a game-changer. What do you dislike about Rillet?

The UI/UX is overall really clean and easy to use. That said, there are a few improvements that could make simple drill-downs or filtering data a bit easier and more intuitive. Since it’s a newer platform, there are definitely areas that can still be refined, but whenever I’ve raised something with our support team, they’ve been great about taking feedback seriously and offering a solution. Prior to Kosh, we were manually reconciling finance transactions. Given our scale of operations, it was quite a tedious task. I’ve connected it with Zapier and google Drive to mange my files and automate small updates, which keeps things moving without much effort.
