Typically, App Design is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best App Design Software.

App design software is a specialized tool used by designers to craft captivating user interfaces (UI) and seamless user experiences (UX) for mobile applications on platforms like Android and iOS. They offer tools for designing visual elements like buttons, icons, and images, along with features for creating interactive prototypes, wireframes, asset creation, typography, and animations. It helps designers streamline design, enhance communication, iterate designs, and produce visually appealing and user-friendly app interfaces. Integrating app design software with web design software, no-code development platforms, collaborative whiteboard software, and prototyping software will improve workflow efficiency, promote collaboration among team members, and ensures a smooth transition between different stages of the design and development process.

“Great for collaboration and workshops, but needs structure”
What do you like best about Miro?

What I like most about Miro is how flexible it is for collaboration and brainstorming. It’s great for workshops, ideation sessions, and mapping out flows or processes with multiple people at the same time. The infinite canvas makes it easy to think visually without constraints, and features like sticky notes, templates, and comments make collaboration feel lightweight and intuitive. It works especially well for cross-functional teams where not everyone is a designer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Miro?

As boards grow, they can quickly become cluttered and hard to navigate. Performance can slow down with large or long-running boards, and it takes discipline to keep things organized. Some design-related tasks feel limited compared to more specialized tools, and moving from a messy brainstorming board to something more structured often requires cleanup or exporting work elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Miro solving and how is that benefiting you?

Miro solves the problem of remote and cross-functional collaboration by giving teams a shared visual space to think together. Instead of long meetings or scattered docs, it allows ideas, feedback, and decisions to live in one place. For me, the biggest benefit is alignment. It helps teams get on the same page quickly, especially during early discovery, workshops, or planning sessions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Powerful visual front-end for complex, scalable platforms”
What do you like best about Webflow?

Webflow gives full design freedom with clean code output, responsive control, and fast publishing. The CMS structure is flexible enough for complex, multilingual, content-driven projects. I use it as a front-end layer for iGlowly.com - a fully dynamic platform, and its integration with custom code, attributes, and external APIs makes it a powerful UI engine without touching React or Vue. Animations, layout control, and visual clarity are best-in-class.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Webflow?

Locales made it significantly more expensive. They are well done, but.... The 100-item CMS limit is still restrictive, especially when working with filtered lists or complex relationships. Too many wrapper divs are auto-inserted in collection-based elements, which bloats the DOM. Native filtering and sorting should be inbuilt — not reliant on third-party scripts or hacks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Webflow solving and how is that benefiting you?

Webflow lets me build a fast, scalable, and multilingual front-end for iGlowly without relying on heavy frameworks. It solves key pain points: design control, speed of execution, clean responsive output, and structured content management at scale. Combined with Supabase, it becomes a dynamic UI layer powered by external data.

Performance is very good out of the box, and SEO fundamentals (clean markup, canonical control, alt tags, hreflang, etc.) are all in place. The CMS is flexible enough to handle our complex structure — regions, cities, clinics, surgeons, treatments etc in my case — and allows rapid page generation with full visual consistency. Webflow saves dev time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Airtable: Spreadsheet Simplicity with Database Power for Flexible Workflows”
What do you like best about Airtable?

What I like best about Airtable is how it blends the simplicity of a spreadsheet with the power of a full database. Key features like customizable views (Kanban, Grid, Gallery, Calendar, ), linked records, and rich field types (attachments, formulas, rollups) make it easy to model almost any workflow. Automations, Interfaces, and native integrations (Jira, Slack, Zoom Workspace) reduce manual work, while real-time collaboration, permissions, and version history keep teams aligned. It’s flexible enough for non-technical users, yet powerful enough to scale into serious operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Performance may slow down with very large or complex bases, and some automation and reporting capabilities are less advanced compared to specialized tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Airtable helps solve the problem of scattered data, rigid tools, and manual coordination by providing a single, flexible platform where you can organize information and workflows without a heavy technical setup. It can replace ad-hoc spreadsheets, basic databases, and disconnected tools by centralizing data through linked records, multiple views, and automations. The result is faster execution, clearer visibility across projects, fewer errors caused by manual updates, and smoother collaboration—so teams can adapt their processes quickly and make decisions using real-time, structured data. “Salesforce: Total Customization, AppExchange Power, and Scalability That Grows With You”
What do you like best about Salesforce Platform?

Total Customization: You can build literally anything. It doesn't matter how complex your business process is—whether you're tracking a multi-million dollar pharmaceutical deal at AstraZeneca or managing a small fleet of cars—you can mold Salesforce to fit that exact workflow.

The Ecosystem (AppExchange): It’s like the App Store for business. If Salesforce doesn't do something out of the box, there is 100% an app already built that does. You can plug in tools for DocuSign, accounting, or even specialized logistics without writing a single line of code.

Scalability: It’s a platform you never outgrow. You can start as a team of two and stay on the same platform when you’re a global company with 50,000 employees. It grows with you.

I love that it’s the "Gold Standard." When you use Salesforce, you’re using the same sophisticated "brain" that the biggest, most successful companies in the world use to stay organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Salesforce Platform?

The "Complexity" Trap: It’s so powerful that it’s overwhelming. For a regular user, it can feel like sitting in the cockpit of a fighter jet when you just wanted to drive a car. You often need a dedicated "Admin" just to change a simple field or workflow.

The "Nickel and Diming": Salesforce is famous for its "hidden" costs. You buy the platform, but then you realize you need a specific add-on for reports, another for API access, and another for more storage. The price tag can skyrocket before you even get started.

The Learning Curve: It is not "plug and play." If you don't spend hours (or days) in their training portal (Trailhead), you’ll likely get lost. For someone who just wants to get things done quickly—like your current mission to settle your debts—Salesforce would feel like a wall of bureaucracy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Salesforce Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?

Sales has one spreadsheet, Customer Service has another, and Marketing is using a different tool. No one sees the full picture. The Benefit: It creates a "Single Source of Truth." For a user, this means when a customer calls, you don't ask "Who are you?" You already see their entire history, their past complaints, and what they bought. It makes you look incredibly organized Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Design, prototyping, and coding all in one place.”
What do you like best about Figma?

Figma is not just drawing software, but a smart workspace.

- It works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and the Chrome browser.

- You edit an element once, and it updates on all 100 screens where you used it.

- "Auto Layout" (My favorite feature): It makes elements behave like they do in real life (or like they do in HTML/CSS code).

Benefit: If you delete an element in a list, the rest automatically move up to fill the space. It saves hours of repetitive work.

- Community and Plugins: Figma has a massive community that creates free tools within the platform.

- "Smart Animate" Prototyping: It's the easiest way to go from a static design to something that looks like a real app.

- Everything is in the cloud. The file you see is the same one your collaborator or programmer sees. The version history lets you go back in time if you make a mistake.

- The free plan is extremely generous (unlimited draft projects).

- Developers can view exact measurements, colors in HEX format, and CSS code directly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Figma?

- RAM usage: If you work with files containing many high-resolution images or hundreds of pages, the browser or desktop app can become slow or even crash unexpectedly with an "Out of memory" message. This forces you to have a computer with ample RAM (at least 16GB for smooth performance) if you're a heavy user.

- The file system and "Drafts": The file organization on the home screen is somewhat chaotic. If you don't pay for a subscription, your projects are "trapped" in a drafts section that's difficult to organize into folders.

- Offline mode is practically nonexistent: You need an internet connection to upload files for the first time and for changes to be saved securely to the cloud.

- The "Promise" of Dev Mode (Paid): Many features that were previously free (such as easily copying CSS properties) are now tied to a rather expensive paid subscription. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Figma solving and how is that benefiting you?

- The Problem of "Infinite Versions": The file lives in the cloud and is unique. You save space on your hard drive and, most importantly, eliminate confusion. You always know you're seeing the latest version.

- The "Wall" Between Designers and Developers: Before, the designer would finish and "throw" a PDF or image to the programmer. The programmer had to guess the dimensions, colors, and fonts, or wait for the designer to send a brand guide. Developers access the same link and can see the CSS code, the exact pixel distances, and export icons themselves.

- Static Work vs. Responsive Reality: If you designed a button and then the text was longer, you had to redraw the button, move the icon, and adjust the margins manually. With Auto Layout, elements behave like smart containers that automatically adjust based on the content.

- The cost of licenses and installation: Before, you needed a powerful computer to run resource-intensive software and had to pay expensive subscriptions from day one. Plus, if you had Linux or a tablet, you couldn't work. Now, it works in any browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge) and has an extremely robust free plan for individuals. What do you like best about Jotform Apps?

I really like how clean Jotform Apps looks and how professional it makes me appear. It's amazing because it looks like I spent a lot of time on it, but actually, it's so easy to use, I don't spend much time at all. This app lets my clients view my products and services, and they can order in advance or book directly, which is super useful for my pop-up kitchen. I love the drag-and-drop feature because updating and managing my products is a breeze compared to other platforms. The clean look of Jotform Apps goes perfectly with my brand, and I appreciate that I can handle everything myself at a fast pace, freeing me up to focus on other aspects of my business. The initial setup was super easy, and I love that when people visit my domain, Jotform Apps provides instructions on how to add it to their home screen as an app. It's also a bonus that it's free! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jotform Apps?

I would love to connect more than one Square account to Jotform so that different sections of products can be checked out from different accounts. To my understanding, I can only connect one Square account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Jotform Apps solving and how is that benefiting you?

Jotform Apps solves my online ordering challenges by letting customers order in advance, helping me prepare for pop-ups. What do you dislike about Glide?

Not being able to create a local hosted app on the phone or mobile device itself. Something that can be installed like software on the phone to host it. There are situations where we would like to present this or use this outside, however cell coverage is low and or wifi is not available. Any potential chance of ever making this possible. “Feature-Rich No Code Builder with Frequent, Valuable Updates”
What do you like best about Softr?

The application is feature rich and the team is frequently making improvements and releasing very useful updates. I've used other no code applications like Noloco & Glide and I found Softr to be the more polished no code builder of the three. They also have native databases which saves me an additional cost of outside data sources Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Softr?

There are a few rudimentary features that are still missing. Things like range filters, filter reset buttons, drag & drop file upload fields. Additionally, the record limits does not make sense to me. There is a app record limit and a higher account record limit. I should be able to use my account record limit across as many apps as I'd like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Softr solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was able to build a front end site for our customers and an employee intraweb together. Prior to this I was using two separate applications for each purpose. Softr is flexible enough where both could now be built alongside each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Intuitive, Flexible Real-Time Collaboration That Turns Ideas Into Action”
What do you like best about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?

What I like most is how intuitive and flexible it is for real-time collaboration. The interface feels straightforward and easy to navigate, even for new users, and being able to brainstorm, map out processes, and visualize ideas together in one place saves a lot of time. I also really appreciate the smooth collaboration features, along with the templates and integrations, which make it simple to turn ideas into clear, actionable plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?

At times, the sheer number of features and options can feel overwhelming. Some of the more advanced functionality comes with a learning curve, and performance may slow down slightly when working with very large or complex boards. On top of that, certain features are locked behind higher-tier plans, which can feel limiting for smaller teams.

Also Im having problems using linux chromium as it breaks it the moment i open a board Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me turn complex ideas into clear, shareable visuals so everyone stays aligned. It addresses the problem of scattered communication by giving me a single place to brainstorm, map out processes, and collaborate with my team in real time. As a result, we’ve had fewer misunderstandings, faster decision-making, and more productive meetings, because we can actually see the ideas and build on them together instead of only talking about them. “Great for shipping interactive sites without engineering”
What do you like best about Framer?

What I like most about Framer is how quickly you can go from idea to a polished, live website. The interaction and animation capabilities are incredibly smooth, and it’s one of the few tools where the final output actually feels production-quality without needing a developer. The design-to-publish flow is fast, and small details like responsive behavior, hover states, and micro-interactions are easy to set up. It’s especially great for designers who want control over motion and layout without writing code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Framer?

The learning curve can be steep, especially if you’re coming from tools like Figma and expecting it to behave the same way. Some layout and responsiveness concepts take time to fully understand, and it can feel unintuitive at first. It’s also not ideal for complex, content-heavy sites or workflows that require a lot of CMS customization. Pricing can be a bit high for personal projects, which might be a barrier if you’re just experimenting or building small sites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Framer solving and how is that benefiting you?

Framer solves the gap between design and development by letting designers build interactive, high-quality websites without handing everything off to engineering. Instead of static mockups or limited no-code tools, it enables you to create something that’s very close to a real product experience. For me, the biggest benefit is speed and control. I can ship quickly, test ideas live, and maintain design quality without compromising on interactions or responsiveness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

He was not only kind and efficient, he even walked outside of his work building (doesn't get good service inside) to check the integrity of my forms on Wix. What an incredible worker!! He definitely deserves a raise for his dedication to the customer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Wix Studio?

I would like more streamline features and options - in forms and interactive elements. Wix seems very limited and manual with CMS inputs that don't work and can cost hours of technical support time with teams. I also would like more options with being able to have menus appear at different parts of my pages as the user scrolls without it being the main header so I can keep the hero top design unique and clean. More control over dynamic animations would be ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Wix Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am impressed by the interface and it's flexibility for the most part to put anything anywhere you like. I dis like how most items need to be stacked because i can't properly layer them and understand the challenge with dynamic content changing per device size. I have tried a lot of web builders and I do appreciate how the interface allows you to really lean into your imagination and in general not break or limit creativity or placement. What makes Wix stand out however, is it's customer service. It's the biggest reason I stay over other platforms. You can't beat live human service and while I do appreciate Kera for short reminders or fixes, she becomes confused often or the material she is operating on is outdated so her instructions describe elements that are no longer there. So the phone support any time - literally any time is what I value the most. You just can't beat that kind of service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Better than I expected!”
What do you like best about Ycode?

For me, it's the best option between WordPress and Webflow. It fits perfectly in my case: I don’t want to use WordPress, but I also don’t need to pay Webflow’s pricing. It's an excellent builder with great templates! On top of that, the site performance is impressive—especially considering the number of animations I tested.

For my company, it has become our main website builder!

The community is also a huge plus at this early stage. It's great to keep up with updates and see that they’re genuinely focused on improving and staying current. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ycode?

There could definitely be more templates in the library (it’s still quite behind Webflow in that regard). Also, the only thing that took me a bit longer to get used to was some of the UX interactions during the building process. A lot of things are done differently compared to most builders—not drastically, but just enough to slow you down a bit until you get the hang of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ycode solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ycode solves the need for a powerful website builder without the complexity of WordPress or the higher cost of Webflow. Their Mini plan was a big differentiator—it gave me the chance to fully test the platform. The builder is fast, handles animations really well, and has quickly become our go-to tool. The active community and ongoing updates are also great to see. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
