What do you like best about Paychex?

Paychex user-friendly interface and robust payroll processing are great to use. It's Automated payroll and tax processing saves our significant time by handling payments, calculations, and filings with minimal manual effort. It is easy to use for even non technical user. What do you dislike about Paychex?

Overall, Paychex is a great tool that has helped us organize our payroll processing efficiently. However, there are times when customer support responds a bit slowly, which is an area that could be improved. "Employee Ease with Time Clock"
What do you like best about Paychex?

Paychex makes it easy for me to clock in and out of my virtual education job. It is a requirement that I implement it when I am working any of my shifts. I use it daily, as I work every single day (even though only part-time). It seems to have the right amount of features, and I'm not sure if it would need more. It has been very easy to integrate into my regular routine. Typically, when there is an issue, I either reach out to my HR or they reach out to me. What do you dislike about Paychex?

Paychex has a tendency to fail to accurately record clock-ins or outs on random days. This results in my HR contacting me to clarify what time I finished my shift, despite the fact that I did, indeed, complete the task. "Reliable Support, Time Clock Issues Persist"
What do you like best about Paychex?

I really appreciate the support team at Paychex. We've had three different acquisitions this year, and the support team has been extremely great in helping us implement Paychex for each new facility we've acquired. Their support is nonstop; they've seen us through the first payroll of every facility to ensure everything is running smoothly. What do you dislike about Paychex?

The time clocks. I think our biggest issue is time clocks. A lot of times, they just don't work properly. We have experienced a lot of camera issues with the time clock that we're using, where they kinda just fail and, decide to stop working. So I think that would be a big area of improvement for us. "Integration Issues Make Paychex a Frustrating Experience"

What do you dislike about Paychex?

I've had a lot of issues with our 401(k) plan after plan mergers, including interrupted distributions for former employees without warning. Paychex treated withdrawals of pretax and Roth contributions as taxable. The integration between payroll and time & attendance modules is minimal; managers and employment status must be set separately in each. During open enrollment, Paychex prematurely starts HSA employer contributions despite the benefits year not beginning, causing issues for employees switching plans. The Flock module managing benefits doesn't communicate with the PBA module for FSAs and HSAs, lacking necessary checks when transitioning between health plans. The initial setup was tough due to having different contacts for each module, and they failed to set up our COBRA properly as discussed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Paychex was amazing helping with ERC"
What do you like best about Paychex?

During the Covid 19 pandemic, Paychex kept up with the new laws and helped my company stay aflote. They helped with PPP funding sources that would actually work with our compnay. They also held webinars where they explained how we could use both ERC and PPP funds together. They were able to help keep my company alive.

They have expertise in so many areas, but it always feels that when they want to educate you, they are only doing it to sell you a new product, rather than doing it because you are a current client. - same as my last review.

"Regret Switching to Paychex: Poor Support, High Turnover, and Costly Mistakes"
What do you like best about Paychex?

What do you dislike about Paychex?

We moved our Co payroll from ADP to Paychex 3rd Qtr 2024. Paychex has FAILED to file quarterly reports and now the EDD is sending a Notice of Intent to Lien. We have been assessed thousands of dollars in penalties because of this. Last year upon receiving my first Notice, I worked with Paychex rep who said she would take care of it...long story short, I went through 6 reps (none of whom still work at Paychex - emails keep bouncing back) and signed 5 power of attorneys and it still isn't corrected.

Yesterday the Tax Dept (PAC) opened a case and closed it saying it was taken care of - ummmm not true. The Tax Dept conveniently doesn't have a phone number to call. They refer me to my Account Specialist who doesn't even have viewing access to info on my "tax case/resolution". I forwarded the tax dept emails and they bounced back.

Lack of follow up due to high turnover within the company and/or lack of caring, is costing me time, money and my sanity.

Seriously - do not sign up for Paychex - consider ADP - I was lured over and now regret it.

Emails bounce back - no phone numbers for key personnel and oh, one more thing - their main number goes to an offshore call center who also pass you around like a beach ball.

What do you like best about Paychex?

I like the customization report that he can produce for analytical HR. Dedicated service to member who is willing to help us on payroll processing even at last minute. The payroll is emailed over to a POOL so I do not always get my payroll specialist doing our payroll. I want a relationship with the dedicated payroll specialist. The delivery process is not user friendly for those who work shorter hours (5-3) Agricultural business. we pay the larger fee to get it guaranteed by 10 AM. What do you like best about Paychex?

Paychex provides a user-friendly website for payroll entry. Additionally, the process of adding new employees to the system is straightforward. They manage our tax filings and reporting, facilitate direct deposits for employees, and provide employee benefits beyond what the employer offers.

The software is available online, eliminating the need for downloads and installations, which simplifies the implementation process. They also feature a chat option for customer support, allowing for immediate assistance rather than waiting for an email response. We utilize Paychex for bi-weekly payroll processing, obtaining our W-2 forms and payroll reports. The entire setup process was seamless and easily integrated into our existing procedures. What do you dislike about Paychex?
