It would be nice to be able to facilitate adding these fields on my own. **Recommendations to others considering Paychex:** I highly recommend Paychex Flex for a small business. I liked the portal at first, it seemed straight forward, but it is lacking in many areas. **What do you dislike about Paychex?** Mainly customer service. It is non-existent. During onboarding the rep. incorrectly entered bank info and employee SSNs. Paychex accidentally processed 3 payrolls in 1 day trying to fix it, withdrawing approx. $100k in error, they didn't even help us get the money back, we had to pursue the banks they sent the money to. The company I work for has multiple entities using or previously using the Paychex Platform and services. There hasn't been a correct bill for services in the entirety of our tenure using this vendor. Of the many times we've needed to reach out to support, it's been a miserable process that often requires us to own multiple follow-ups to even get a response. Resolutions are considered a lucky, isolated outcome that we no longer have any faith in achieving. The cascading results of these issues have impacted not only our valuable time and effort but also have created significant negative experiences with our direct employees who depend on access to their core benefits and payment data. We've gone so far as to have to include the President of the company to even receive basic responses. The transition away from using this provider has proved to be even worse than using them. We are now straddling a black hole of data that should have been "effortlessly transferred" to our new vendor that leaves our CEO and Managing Partner losing 30min to an hour dealing with this situation on a DAILY basis for MONTHS on end. I could not recommend strongly enough to NEVER consider any Paychex services or affiliated offerings. I would welcome any extra assistance or recourse from a Paychex representative and would happily update this review to reflect any resolution you'd be able to help us achieve in ending this nightmare. **What problems is Paychex solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were trying to do basic payroll and employee benefits. **Official Response from Candice Williams:** > "Hello Jeanette . In my experience, it surpasses its competitors in quality of payroll reports and live support. **What do you dislike about Paychex?** When trying to manually send prior journal data after the General Ledger has initially been setup (for instance, after several payrolls have already been run), you have to send the journal entries one at a time, otherwise they will all lump into the same date. I asked a Paychex rep about this, and she said that's just the way it is for now, and she didn't know why. **What problems is Paychex solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've used other payroll softwares in the past, and they would on occasion withdraw funds from the bank with no discernible information on any reports displaying what the purpose was of that amount. Not so with Paychex. In order to retroactively change it, you'd need to send the data to your Paychex rep and have them change it. Furthermore, when payroll reports are downloaded they would use the current home job even if that person was not in that home job during the pay period being paid. Also, if the home job is changed retroactively, you'd need to manually change their home job on the time card, it doesn't happen automatically. **What problems is Paychex solving and how is that benefiting you?** Payroll, HR, and time tracking. The system is pretty flexible and offers a variety of options for the users. Like everything in life, there is always room for improvement, but given all the features it offers, it is a well-rounded platform. ### 18. The program is outdated unless you buy into the company's payroll and HRIS program. **What do you dislike about Paychex?** The program is outdated, needs a significant upgrade to either all features or just the 401(k) piece. **Recommendations to others considering Paychex:** Look at other options before coming to the vendor. Their program has two options. If you only do the 401(k), your options would be limited, and if you choose to do the heath and HR options, then your options are a lot different, and the look and feel of flex is almost night and day. **What problems is Paychex solving and how is that benefiting you?** 401(k) administration. If we need to make changes or talk to our rep they are always responsive **What do you dislike about Paychex?** For a while there was a lot of turnover with our account rep and it was hard to get a response if we had any issues; however, that issue seems to have been resolved **Recommendations to others considering Paychex:** They offer a good product at a decent cost. We've had them for 9+ months and every single pay period I have to manually enter hours information because the file feed from the time system into the Oasis system does not work correctly. It'll pay an employe 20 regular hours and 65 OT hours. I've complained and no one has made any attempts to resolve the issues. IT has said there's no issues at all. Ridiculous! We recently went through open enrollment. I have an employee population that needs hands-on assistance as they are not comfortable with technology. I've called for a week and have yet to speak with any human in the benefits department. The departments are siloed so your HR Contact can't help you with Benefits. AT ALL. Not even a little. I asked for paper forms to enroll one employee to get him finally enrolled as he was having constant issues getting into the system (which I have no power to help with because they don't give me access to reset a password, or change a username, etc.). I was told paper forms (from my HR contact) don't exist but they did when we signed up initially. Oasis gives you very little power to actually help your employees and then they don't answer the phone to assist them! We switched from ADP due to their poor customer service. Oasis makes them look like a saint!!! Nonstop upselling when they can't even get the services we paid for right. Turnover - on the payroll side alone, we had three new specialists in as many months. None of which trained us properly on the platform. Unauthorized remits. They do not send alerts or emails to employees when payroll is processed. They default to communications by snail mail which makes no sense when most businesses are remote. Zero visibility from their Flex team into HR and vice versa, which means you have to do everything twice. Requesting forms and information THAT THEY ALREADY HAVE in their system on my business. Mislabelling contractors as employees causing tax issues for everyone involved.
