## Karbon Reviews
 ### 1. Karbon Saves Hours Each Week with Powerful Workflow Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Damian G. | Senior Tax Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Karbon's workflow automation saves our team hours each week by reducing manual follow-ups, improving visibility across engagements, and keeping everyone aligned on tasks and deadlines.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

While Karbon is a powerful practice management tool, some features can feel overly complex and require multiple clicks to complete simple tasks. Improvements to customization options and reporting functionality would make it easier to tailor the platform to different workflows and extract meaningful insights more efficiently.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before implementing Karbon, we struggled to keep track of client work, deadlines, and team responsibilities across multiple systems and spreadsheets. Karbon has centralised our workflow management, allowing us to manage jobs, communicate internally, and monitor progress from a single platform. This has improved accountability, reduced the risk of missed deadlines, and saved several hours each week that were previously spent on manual follow-ups and status updates. The increased visibility across engagements has also helped us allocate resources more effectively and deliver a more consistent client experience.

 ### 2. Karbon’s Email Linking and Thread View Make Client Work Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina W. | Marketing and Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I love that Karbon links to my email, so I can tag messages to specific jobs or clients. It’s also really helpful that I can view all the emails in a thread and quickly see the most recent one. I’m able to leave comments for other Karbon users as well, which makes it easier to communicate without having to wait.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

You used to be able to expand an email and comment and review the full chain, and not lose your place on the page. Now it doesn't keep that view but adopts a more "Outlook" feel. I am used to it now, but I miss the way to expand and view before.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I’m out of the office, other associates can still see the work I have without needing to be included on the email chains. They can review the work notes, see which tasks are in progress or not started, and leave memos for me to pick up when I get back. I can also quickly see where jobs and work stand without spending an hour tracking down information.

Because you can build out work, I’m able to modify or adjust tasks to fit my needs. It’s easy to find what work is assigned to me or others, along with due dates, pricing, and other details. Overall, I save a lot of time with Karbon.

 ### 3. Karbon’s Integrations and “Work” Feature Make Tax Season Efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheryl T. | Senior Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I like all of the integrations with Karbon, especially the Gmail. I also like that my colleagues and I are able to collaborate and hold each other accountable through the workflow. During tax season, I don't think I would be able to make it without the "Work" feature. There is just so much you can do on Karbon and it definitely makes the process a lot more efficient! I love Karbon and would recommend it to anyone!

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The ONLY thing I dislike is I wish it offered all of the features that my Gmail did. My firm communicates with each other through Google Chat so if it wasn't for that, I would never have to open my Gmail. I have to keep it open because I'm the Administrator of the account and I'm always getting chats from the different employees all day long. If Karbon could somehow integrate that with our Gmail, that would make my life a lot easier!

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like that whichever employees I assign to a client can all communicate with the client and we can all see the communication so there are not any misunderstandings with "he said - she said". It's all listed right there and very organized for all of us to see and be a part of and add to if needed.

 ### 4. Karbon Keeps Client Collaboration Organized and streamlined for the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donna H. | Licensed Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Karbon is a great tool, I love the functionality of being able to respond within the platform to clients' comments on requests for documents and that they are all kept within the specific task so everything is contained.
The Integrations with Socket allow us to import our client details in effectively, helping us save time duplicating information across multiple platforms.
The support team, even though they are US based, respond very quickly to any queries we have or are uncertain how to do a specific element but usually the community and training provided covers the majority of instances. I can't wait to see what else Karbon are set to bring out with the utilisation of AI etc.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The downside is that there aren't many Account managers based in the UK and have been assigned those in the states so even though the support team are great, it would be good to have UK equivalents. Also, worth noting that a lot of the product updates are early doors or late at night for UK customers.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Love that it keeps everything together in one place and saves time trying to find the right information. Keeps all client correspondence assigned to the relevant tasks rather than trawling through lots of emails trying to find the information you require.

 ### 5. All Client Communication in One Place—A Streamlined Timeline

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** carisa m. | Accounting Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I like that all of my communication around a client is in one platform. The team can chat with each other on work items, emails, and emails from clients along with notes all get attached to a client's timeline so you can view everything in one place. It has streamlined client communication for us!

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

There are some tech features that are not quite setup correctly. They have AI inside but it doesn't quite work. Some of the settings are a little hard to understand especially when you start. The learning curve for the system is steeper than others.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon is solving our internal issue of one person having all of the knowledge. It is opening up our firm to more client transparency so when someone is out of the office for whatever reason the next person can step in and start working on the client because all of the background is there. It is also eliminating some of the other tools we used for time tracking, billing, email and putting everything in one tool.

 ### 6. Karbon Centralizes Email, Assignments, and Team Visibility in One Place

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam D. | Financial Accounting 1 & Coporate Governance 1 Tutor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Pulls almost everything into one place from my emails, to tracking my assignments and work, to remembering to do my timesheet more often because I spend more and more time working through Karbon. It has also allowed to drive enhanced visibility across the team to ensure coordinated efforts happen at the right time from client onboarding through to engagement delivery.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Disappointed that Triage does not update live the way Outlook does, this creates friction when trying to wholly manage my emails through Karbon and getting notified when something time sensitive has come in. Still getting used to the broader way of working in utilizing work items and assignments but at least I get to realise that feeling of clearing out my inbox almost every day now. Also wish there was a prebuilt connector to Claude, as our team use this a lot to manage tasks and deliver work so it would be amazing if Claude could read the status and allocation of work items and assignments to help manage my day better.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Acting more as a one-stop shop that enables my entire team to see through the entire lifecycle of a client engagement from onboarding, engagement delivery and billing/reporting in one place. Its helping us to getter better control of how team member time is being spent between billable, non-billable, task areas and identify opportunities for developing people in the right direction.

 ### 7. Karbon Keeps Tasks and Emails Organized—Nothing Slips Through

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patricia C. | Staff Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

What I like most about Karbon is that it keeps all our tasks and emails organized in one place. It’s easy to see who is responsible for each task, and we can track everything to make sure nothing gets missed. It helps the team stay on top of work and gives me peace of mind knowing that no task is left behind.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Currently, the features are amazing for me. However, the mobile version has some limitations, and there are fewer things we can do compared to the desktop version.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon helps us stay organized and keeps everything in one place. Before, it was easy for tasks to get buried in emails or for us to lose track of who was responsible for something. Now, we can clearly see what needs to be done, who is assigned to it, and its current status.

 ### 8. Great Workflow Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** nicole g. | accounts administrator , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

What I like best about Karbon is the improved workflow, it’s much more streamlined and efficient. Planning and managing the team’s workload has become significantly easier, which helps us stay organised and on track. Communication between team members has also improved a lot, making collaboration smoother. On top of that, everything related to a client is stored in one place, so it’s quick and easy to find the information we need.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

We have individual work related to company directors that sits on each person’s individual timeline, but it is ultimately billed to the organisation. It would be really helpful if we could bill organisation work and individual work together, rather than having to handle them separately.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All problems that I have had have not been major and always solved quickly

 ### 9. Triage Reminders and Integrations Keep Us Organized—Karbon Keeps Getting Better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katina P. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Lots to love! I love triage and its reminders to help me stay organized and not forgot to take care of things. We also really love how Karbon is constantly making improvements and upgrades including really awesome integrations!

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The search function is challenging. Lots of time I have to go to Gmail to find things. Also would like if the sent items retained everything sent that day even if there are replies back and forth over several days. Also would help to see comments made by date somehow.

Would also like to be able to get more practice management out of it including Engagement letter contract management and billing, especially recurring maintenance billing which is most of what we do. I know this is underway though.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Really improved efficiencies and how to manage things. The integration of triage items to timelines for each client and job and now the added benefit of utilizing the Google Drive integration, it saves a lot of time and hassle.

 ### 10. All in One Workflow Tool for Professional Services

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchell B. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

This software is very user friendly, making it easy on the eyes and not overwhelming. I have used other platforms (Practice Ignition, Asana, etc.) and those tools required more steps and time. I am currently moving my billing to Karbon as they continue to innovate and add on valuable services on their platform.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I currently still bill my clients outside of Karbon. They have added payment processing in 2024 which is great. However, I do not see a control over managing fees, as I prefer to pass these to my clients. I do expect to transition over in 20256as simplifying my back-office systems is a high priority and benefit.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon solves the need to consolidate my processes into one place. This benefits my work as I can do my emails, notes from calls, engagement setup, work tasks, and billing all in one place. This is a huge benefit when you think that some practices or businesses have 3-4 softwares rather than 1 software (Karbon).

 ### 11. KARBON - What more could you want?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikki D. | Director, BAS Agent, Office Manager, Bookkeeper, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

KARBON is a really easy product to use and navigate. With it's various integrations continually improving, it's bound to be the stand out product in the market for an all-in-one CRM. Setup was easy and painless (from memory), we use it all day, everyday.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The 'billing' feature has been a bit clunky in the past, but now with the added integration directly with XERO, I see this being a much smoother process in the future. Customer support can sometime be difficult due to the time differences, so finding your local rep is essential.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

KARBON is like outlook on steroids - not only does it mirror my outlook inbox, but I can tag the emails to each specific client. These emails and notes are then visible on each client's timeline. I can create work tasks with checklists and set due dates, and also set them up on a recurring schedule so that I don't have to re-create them each week/month/quarter/year, etc. I can delegate work tasks to me team members, and check their progress using 'my week'. My team and I can log times against each work task or just log a time against a specific client. Once work tasks have been completed (or partially completed) I can then complete the end of month billing that integrates directly with my chosen Accounting software. Easy!!

 ### 12. Robust Workflow Management, But Billing Needs Flexibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John L. | Chief Financial Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

The workflow management is very robust, and along with Triage, it has the biggest impact on my day-to-day work. I like the time entry format - daily, with a weekly time card - which makes things easy to track. The timeline feature, the Triage, and the integration with email make managing a busy inbox much more manageable. I use all of those items on a daily basis. Karbon's workflow management is better developed than what I had with Canopy. The implementation specialist we had, Brian, was very good. Some aspects of setup were easy, some time consuming, but not very complicated. The positives outweigh the negatives.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

{"Billing is not as easy as other PMs I have used. It needs to be more flexible.","It should allow the grouping of multiple time entries into a line item for billing, and then the grouping of other time entries into a separate line item - all on one invoice.","Stripe is far too expensive - especially for an ACH.","The engagement function is useless at this point. I know it is in Beta.","It should allow for engagement agreements to be sent - using my firm's letterhead and branding - and esigned.","We have 500 clients - and we have to manually send out 500 engagement letters. We won't be using engagements until that can be done 1) in bulk using client data, 2) done on our branded letters.","These are big limitations - and there are more."}

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Karbon for practice management - workflow management, secure file transfer including portal, time tracking and billing. The workflow management is very robust. The daily time entry with weekly time card makes tracking easy. The timeline, Triage, and email integration make managing a busy inbox much more manageable.

 ### 13. Karbon Streamlines Practice Management with Powerful Workflow Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Karbon is a cloud-based practice management platform that helps accounting and bookkeeping firms streamline their work by centralizing client communication, task management, workflows, and team collaboration. Its most helpful features include email integration, automated recurring workflows, progress tracking, client request management, and workload planning, allowing teams to stay organized, improve efficiency, reduce manual administration, and ensure deadlines are met while providing full visibility into the status of client work.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

One of the least helpful aspects of Karbon is that it can have a steep learning curve due to its wide range of features and workflow customization options. Smaller firms or new users may find it takes time to set up and fully adopt, and some advanced reporting and customization capabilities are more limited than those offered by specialized analytics or business intelligence tools. Additionally, its pricing can be relatively high for small teams or businesses with simple workflow needs.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon helps solve several common business challenges faced by accounting and professional services firms, including inefficient workflow management, poor team collaboration, missed deadlines, and fragmented client communication. By centralizing tasks, emails, client information, and work progress in one platform, it improves operational efficiency, increases visibility across teams, standardizes processes through automation, and helps ensure work is completed accurately and on time, resulting in better client service and increased productivity.

 ### 14. Task Management Made Effortless, Email Needs Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I like the tasking in Karbon. It allows us to update a job and move the job around from person to person for clarity, ensuring things don't get lost. I also like how we can record information against each task and each job, and it stays with the clients. So if we have to go back in the future to look for something, it's all specific to that client. This helps me not lose information and keep up to date with the client. Being able to record all that information efficiently means that I can always go back to a client file and find what I'm looking for. It also helps me ensure I don't miss anything.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I'm not a fan of the emailing side of things. I don't like the way it connects old emails or does the email history. I just find it hard to follow. It's, sometimes when you go into email, and you're trying to find an attachment, it's not always easy to track the attachment back. It just seems a little bit clunky at times or overwhelming, I guess, is probably the word. It was a bit clunky at first. The person who did do it wasn't really across what should have happened, and it was, we did make a bit of a mess of it in the beginning. We still have had a few hiccups with things because there's so much involved, I guess, in the back end, especially when you're doing repetitive type tasking.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon helps keep our tasks aligned and ensures we don't miss anything. It maintains client-specific information like contact details and entity structures, making it easier to track against each task and job efficiently, ensuring clarity and preventing anything from slipping through the cracks.

 ### 15. Karbon Keeps Emails on Track and Workloads Organised with My Week

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I have two key reasons why I recommend Karbon. First, the tag emails feature is extremely helpful because it means emails very rarely go missing, and it also allows colleagues to stay up to date when someone is on annual leave, etc. Second, I really like the My Week feature. It essentially gives you an online, priority-based to-do list and helps keep your workload organised in a manageable order.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The only minor issue I’ve found with Karbon is that when sending emails, it doesn’t include an importance option. That feature can be really helpful when you need to flag an urgent email to clients, colleagues, and others.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon is helping solve several key challenges for our practice by bringing workflows, communication, and client management together in a single platform.

One of the biggest benefits has been improved visibility and control over our work. Previously, tracking jobs, deadlines, and client communications across multiple systems created inefficiencies and increased the risk of something being missed. With Karbon, we have a clear, intuitive workflow that makes it easy for the team to see the status of every job, understand priorities, and manage workloads more effectively.

The user interface is clean and easy to navigate, which has supported adoption across the team and reduced the time needed for training and onboarding. Having emails, tasks, notes, and client information connected in one place means staff spend less time searching for details and more time focused on client work.

Karbon’s integrations with our existing systems have also improved efficiency by reducing manual data entry and helping information flow more smoothly between platforms. This has streamlined processes and lifted overall productivity.

From a performance perspective, Karbon has enabled greater consistency in how work is delivered. It has improved accountability and helped us meet deadlines more reliably. The reporting and visibility into team capacity also support better resource planning and day-to-day decision-making.

Support and onboarding have been strong, with responsive assistance and practical guidance that helped us implement the platform successfully and realise value quickly.

More recently, Karbon’s AI capabilities have started to reduce administrative effort by assisting with communication summaries, task creation, and workflow management. These features have the potential to further increase efficiency and allow the team to focus more on higher-value advisory and client-facing work.

Overall, Karbon has delivered a strong return on investment through improved productivity, better collaboration, greater operational visibility, and a more scalable way to manage our practice.

 ### 16. Karbon Streamlines Client Triage and Collaboration with Minimal Downtime

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Karbon helps me see my progress with multiple clients at the same time, helping me triage who needs my attention most on a given day. It is also a simple matter of a few clicks to assign work to a colleague if I need assistance, or to simply tag them on an internal note if I need their input. Karbon truly makes collaborating with our distributed workforce very smooth and easy. It is key in allowing us to standardize our workflows across clients, and making the small adjustments to meet specific needs is also simple and clear. It was incredibly easy to pick up the basics as a new user, and my coworker who knew the system better was able to guide me in deeper utilization of the tools. The price is also excellent, given how much time I spend using Karbon each day. And compared to the rest of our tech stack, Karbon has had the least glitches or down time.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Because Karbon is complex, there are sometimes issues with not reassigning work at the correct level, or editing a repeating workflow but not reloading future items....but these are user errors and not an issue with the software itself. I haven't yet encountered an issue with the program, but I assume I will at some point. Given their regular rollout of updates and new features, I expect any problems would be fixed quickly.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our workforce is remote, so having Karbon as a central repository for all our work items is helpful to give oversight, support, and quality checks. My coworkers can all see my list and I can see theirs. I can see when someone is putting in extra hours on something that should take less time and offer support or problem solving. Karbon also takes care of so much of the Monday load-in brain draining planning that other jobs have required. I log in, I check my Triage, I look at my work week and make any adjustments based on new information. This saves me easily 3 hours a week on average.

 ### 17. Karbon- great do it all practice management system.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher R. | Financial Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

One of my favorite features in Karbon is the work timelines. It makes it really easy to have all the communication regardless of which team member it is going to or from, all in one spot and related to different work items. The usual setup is very easy and pretty straightforward. If you already have information in a system, it makes it pretty easy just to transfer into Karbon.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

One area of improvement in Karbon would be the billing platform. There's a couple of things that I think should be better. One would be to have if you have a flat monthly fee, to be able to automatically send out invoices and charge that fee. Currently, it's a manual process. Another one would be to have the option to send an invoice and not have it on autopay. If the autopay method is in someone's profile, if you send an invoice, it automatically gets paid with no option to just have an invoice sent without that payment being drafted.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon helped integrate multiple systems into one, combining work items, workflow, and organizing communication—all integrated with our billing.

 ### 18. Full visibility, great support, constantly improving

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily W. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

The client timeline is one of the most prominent and also one of the best features of Karbon. Being able to see not just my own emails but those of colleagues, plus internal notes and tags, means we have the full picture of what's happening with a client without having to ask around. This is particularly useful when a client calls unexpectedly or we're picking up work usually dealt with by another team member.

Close behind that is how intuitive the platform is — even without formal training, it's easy to find your way around, which in practice means new team members get up to speed very quickly and even if you've not done something before, it's incredibly easy to work it out.

The support is also worth highlighting. We have regular meetings with Ryan, our Customer Success Manager, who provides us with an overview of our firms usage and is on hand to help with new features and provide training to individuals and the team as a whole.

Finally, the fact that we've been with Karbon since 2020 and have actively reviewed competitors in that time — and still not moved — probably says it all.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

There aren't many features we dislike and Karbon are constantly improving the platform, so issues don't tend to stick around for long. That said, there are a couple of areas that could work better for us.

A number of our staff have struggled with the My Week feature, particularly those whose workload comes from emails rather than work items. Tasks that arrive via email aren't easy to plan into My Week, meaning it isn't utilised as much as it could be across the whole team.

The other area I'd flag is the search function. Being able to search within cleared or sent items would be really useful — finding older email correspondence isn't as straightforward as it could be, which can slow you down when you need to refer back to something.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest problems Karbon solves for us is being able to collect, share and collate client information across staff who work across multiple locations. The Karbon checklists collect all of the required information for a job, which is then saved to the documents tab and ready for anyone who needs it to access. This makes jobs quicker and easier to complete with less back and forth and manually scanning in data. It is also easier from the client's side, being able to upload all of their documents in one place.

The AI features have also been a real benefit, particularly the ability to summarise long email threads. Being able to pull out the salient points before calling a client, rather than scrolling back through months of correspondence, saves several minutes each time — and across a busy practice with a high volume of client calls, that adds up to a significant time saving across the team.

 ### 19. Flexible, Customizable Workflow That Keeps Tasks and Communication in One Place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Karbon is a flexible system that lets you customize it to the needs of the firm, the client, and the team. It makes it very easy to communicate with both the client and the work group, and it is very easy to set up work items and access everything about a given task or project all in one place.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

There are some opportunities for user error to stop the workflow without it being flagged anywhere. So if a work item is reassigned but the tasks within it are not, it will not move to the work week on either staff member.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication and access to have been greatly improved because everyone has access to emails, documents, and team notes all in one place. The overall timeline gives you an overview of what's been happening if you are at the supervisory level, while the notes and details within the tasks help the team working on the day-to-day items can communicate quickly with specific details.

Karbon also makes it easy to create a work item based upon an email or conversation: making follow up, document gathering, and time tracking easier.

 ### 20. Great for Managing Client Workflow and Communication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jennifer . | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I use Karbon to manage client work, track tasks, and handle client communication and deadlines. I like the workflow and task setting capabilities, especially since my team is spread across various locations. I find the ability to set deadlines per task very practical, and it's helpful to see who is working on what. The automated client communication and reminders are also very useful, making the whole process smoother.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I would like all emails to go into a particular inbox to make it easier to track rather than having to open the contact. This is something you can do in Microsoft but not in Karbon. Also the document folder could be improved; maybe we can batch them into folders by date instead of all being together, so if a client said they sent something on a certain date, you just need to check that date.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Karbon to manage client work, track tasks, handle client communication, and manage deadlines. It helps with workflow, seeing communication from all team members, setting deadlines per task, and automating client communication and reminders.

 ### 21. Streamlined Workflow Management with Room for Mobile Improvement

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven R. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I appreciate using Karbon as our practice management platform in our accountancy firm. It significantly helps with workflow management, particularly with the Triage function, which enhances email management, tracking, customer service, and internal communication. The Triage and Comments features are my favorite because they offer visibility and allow sharing client communications across the business, which aids in internal communication and reduces email traffic. The Triage feature also allows me to manage my inbox more effectively by tagging emails to clients and work items, and it enables me to comment team members into them when necessary. It provides valuable visibility across the business on how we are performing in email management. The browser experience for Triage is really good, allowing me to do everything I need to do. We also linked Karbon with our proposal tool and Xero, our accounting system, which is quite beneficial. Switching from Senta to Karbon was driven by Karbon's good reviews in the market. Furthermore, paying an additional fee to have the Karbon team assist with the setup was definitely worth it, as it made the transition smoother than past software changes.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The mobile app is probably the main thing I struggle with. The features within the mobile app just aren't fully there yet, so you find yourself defaulting back to the browser, and I like to work on mobile / iPad.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Karbon for workflow management in my accountancy firm. The Triage function helps with email management, tracking, customer service, and internal communication, speeding up these processes. It allows tagging emails and commenting teammates, which reduces email traffic and offers visibility on performance.

 ### 22. Karbon Boosts Productivity with an Intuitive Dashboard and Responsive Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Karbon has a user-friendly navigation with a modern interface. The dashboard provides a clear overview of tasks, deadlines, team workloads, and client communications in one centralized location. It seamlessly integrates with a lot of core applications such as Monday.com, and delivers reliable performance with minimal downtime. Pricing may be challenging for very small firms, but there are significant productivity gains. The support team is very responsive, and it has built-in AI capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

My primary concern with Karbon is its Outlook email integration. When pasting content such as images, screenshots, or hyperlinks into emails, the formatting can become inconsistent, often causing unexpected font changes and requiring manual corrections. Additionally, emails with multiple attachments can experience delays in loading or sending, which can impact efficiency when managing high volumes of client correspondence. While these issues do not outweigh the platform's overall benefits, they can be frustrating in day-to-day use.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon solves the challenge of managing multiple clients, tasks, deadlines, and communications across different systems by bringing everything into one centralized platform. For me, the biggest benefit is increased efficiency and organization. Instead of tracking work through emails, spreadsheets, and separate applications, I can manage workflows, client communications, and task assignments in a single location.

 ### 23. Packed with Smart Email Triage, Scheduling, and Client Communication Timelines

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

There are so many useful features: triaging emails, scheduling emails to send later, and moving messages to address or follow up in future weeks. I also like the timelines that show communication with clients and the ability to summarise what’s been discussed. On top of that, scheduling work tasks and assigning them to colleagues makes it easier to stay organised.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Right now, we’re not able to send client requests from an account that isn’t tied to an individual user. For example, we may use a shared triage inbox for clients to email instead of a specific person when it relates to a particular service (e.g., payroll@companyname.com). As I understand it, at the moment we can’t send client requests or reminder emails from that shared triage inbox. Equally, client requests cannot be sent to mulitple individuals which is often required.

It would be incredibly useful to do this, as all emails have to be sent manually.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s certainly helping us stay on top of task management. It also makes it easier to understand the efficiency of our team members and keep track of their tasks with much clearer visibility.

It gives us clearer visibility than separate email threads with clients.

 ### 24. Karbon Keeps Communication and To-Do Lists Effortlessly Organized

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

It is a great program for staying on top of communication and to do lists. One feature I love about the communication is that I can create work right from my email that will transfer to my to do list. Also, being able to save the email to several contacts to help keep things straight or share with the work I am doing in the to do lists. I also love how created work can be programed to automatically come up in each month, qtr, or year. Finally the templates have been invaluable in my HR Onboarding and Offboarding.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I honestly have not found one thing I dislike about Karbon. I have been very impressed with the performance, pricing, and AI features. Their support has been very good as well and I appreciate all the training opportunities they provide.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am not a typical accounting firm user. I am a Business Manager who does everything financial for a small public school. I will be retiring soon and I asked Karbon if all my work in Karbon could be transferred to the person who will be taking over my role. They have given me a set of instructions on how this will work and will be available to help in the transition.

 ### 25. Workflows and Time Tracking That Drive Results

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I think that their workflows are beneficial and when the software is being used to the fullest capability I think it is great. I also like the idea of the time tracking to the client, that is very beneficial to our company and how we assess employees and projects. Our team uses it every day.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I think that we were dealt a bad hand when it came to the implementation team, like I said when it is set up well it can do a lot of good, but our Karbon is a mess and while yes it is partially user error, we were never set up well and we just never had the time to clean everything up because there are many issues from implementation. We are a CPA firm so we have a lot of billable hours and a lot of client work to focus on, not so much admin/nonbillable time we are available so when we are fixing it, it usually gets done in our off time.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think that Karbon is really working towards getting their automators tightened up. I also think they are continually working to make Karbon more flexible to where it works with other software and integrates to make your life less complex (after the setup process that is).

 ### 26. Revolutionized Our Practice Management with Seamless Collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Margery N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I find Karbon's team-wide communication and collaboration fantastic, allowing everyone to see the emails and messages sent to clients. It keeps all communications summarized in a specific timeline, making it easy to catch up by reading reviews or using the AI summary system. I like the ability to create very detailed workflows where we can outline each step in the process of a task, like filing a tax return, and have the work move from person to person. This feature makes it easy to see where bottlenecks are and who is responsible for each part of the work. I appreciate the accountability Karbon provides, as every task is assigned to a role or person who knows it’s their responsibility, holding them accountable to deadlines. Additionally, I am happy with the expanded list of integrations that is published almost quarterly.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

My only issue is that new features from Karbon and new integrations with other software programs are often brought into production without all of the promised/advertised features. I appreciate the pace of innovation and the ability get started, but a clear roadmap of functionality would be very helpful.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Karbon enhances team-wide communication and collaboration, letting everyone see client emails and messages in a summarized timeline. It allows creating detailed workflows, ensuring accountability and making it easy to track tasks, spot bottlenecks, and manage responsibilities.

 ### 27. Amazing UI and Collaborative features for the entire team.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nishit C. | External Auditor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

The UI is quite good overall. The triage function is particularly helpful, and the My Week section comes in very handy as well. Being able to tick off tasks also works as a solid checklist and makes it easy to keep track of what I’ve done.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The timesheet-filling function could be a bit better. It should remember which type of work item I selected for a particular job, instead of making me choose it again.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping me keep track of items and work.

Mentions and posting notes help keep everyone updated.

Email sharing for clients is a good way to keep everyone involved and on the same page.

 ### 28. Streamlined Client Work and Team Visibility in One Place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim P. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

It has helped us manage our client work much more effectively and has replaced several other tools we were previously using. We also really appreciate being able to see all of our staff’s work in one place and share tasks with others who may not be as busy.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

It takes some time to get used to using Triage to manage emails, especially if you’re coming from Outlook. Also, the invoicing module isn’t quite where it needs to be yet, so we still handle invoicing in QB Online, while we manage our time in Karbon.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing all work, time, capacity, client communication, message tracking and doing it all in one platform

 ### 29. Streamlined Workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassandra Z. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I like that I can see all my team and their work in Karbon. It's helpful to do e-signatures and send them to my clients. Recording my work, sending out emails, and keeping track of job statuses for lodgments are really convenient with Karbon. It's efficient and productive, giving us more value for money. We're able to fill out more time and make more profit because of the efficiencies.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I would love to have a better to-do list. I also would prefer to have a search functionality or, like, filtering in the triage. It would be great to filter per email address similar to Outlook.

**Recommendations to others considering Karbon:**

Take the time to set up properly
Think about how you want this to run for your business.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Karbon to streamline my workflow, enabling efficient email communication, e-signatures, and team visibility, which enhances productivity and profitability.

 ### 30. Karbon has made our work so much easier

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I love that Karbon allows us to request info directly from the client and send tasks to them automatically. The workflows are easy to use. I love using the templates feature so we don't have to reinvent the wheel every time a task comes along. It allows us to have repeatable consistent workflows that take the mental load off of our staff.
The customer support is amazing, they are prompt in replying to any online chat queries and always point in the right direction.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Karbon Time doesn't allow you to track start and end times for time entries. This is a vital feature that we need for our time tracking

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon allows us to automate our workflows and makes our client experience simple yet effective.
We have had so many clients say that they love the onboarding process when they first sign up with us and that is due to the Karbon client requests that we have set up to automatically send clients the info they need and to let them know what they need to send to us.

 ### 31. Streamlined Work Management with a Few Geographical Hiccups

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catherine R. | Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I appreciate Karbon's ease of use and how the most commonly used features are easily accessible. I find it easy to save information to client and work timelines and to follow standardized, repeatable work templates. The triage system is useful and easy to navigate, and internal communication via notes helps keep my email inbox from becoming cluttered. Karbon groups everything in one place, which is very convenient.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Karbon's newer features and integrations are heavily focused on the US market but I'm based in Canada so can't use them all. It can be hard to find some features that are less at the forefront.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Karbon for work management, resolving inbox clutter, and effective internal communication. It provides job templates for standardizing tasks, simplifies client communication, and offers an easy overview of team activities, all while keeping information centralized and organized.

 ### 32. Intuitive Navigation and Flexible Views Make Karbon a Joy to Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John B. | Operations Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

The navigation and different ways to view work or client information is very intuitive and seamless. I love the my week view to keep track of my schedule, Triage is easy to see things that require my attention and it is easy to move to my week, and the work view has so many variables to sort on that it is hard to not find a view that is helpful.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The contacts view is not great. I am not sure why I can download a file of contact info with way more information and the view within Karbon has none of that information. Would love a view that is similar to the Work view.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to track current work, future work, and services provided to current clients.

 ### 33. Emails, Tasks, and Client Work Unified for Effortless Deadline Tracking

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyrique Q. | Cloud Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

One of the biggest benefits is having emails, tasks, and client work all linked in one place. This reduces the need to switch between multiple systems and makes it much easier to keep track of deadlines and outstanding work.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

hile Karbon is a powerful platform, there is a learning curve for new users due to the number of features available. It can take some time for team members to become fully comfortable with the system.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Without a centralized system, tasks can be forgotten, deadlines missed, and responsibilities unclear. Karbon provides visibility over who is doing what and when it is due.

 ### 34. Streamlined Workflow Management with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sakshi S. | Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I really like the workflow management and timesheet tracking features of Karbon. The timesheet allows us to assess how long a job took, which helps with charging the client accordingly. It's also useful for team productivity, as it shows what work they have on hand and lets the team plan ahead for the week. The initial setup was very easy, and the Karbon team helped us out.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I wish clients could see what stage their workflow is at. It would be great if they had a portal where they can log in to see all the workflows we've created, and what's currently in progress or completed.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Karbon for workflow management, tracking job durations for billing, and improving team productivity and planning.

 ### 35. Integrates with Almost Everything and Stays User-Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angel Coellin L. | Accounting Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I like how it integrates with almost everything, and how user-friendly it is.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Nothing much to add, but when sending documents out for signing in bulk, if one of the signers doesn’t sign, you can’t view the document unless all signers have signed.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit has been increased efficiency and consistency in our processes. By having a single source of truth for work management, our team can collaborate more effectively, track client requests more easily, and ensure work is completed on time. This has improved both our internal productivity and the overall client experience.

 ### 36. Perfect for Managing Tax Firm Workflows

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth Jolls G. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I find Karbon to be an excellent CRM and Project Management system for my tax firm. It integrates well with my tax software, which is really important to me. The templates are extremely helpful, especially in managing a firm or practice in accounting and tax, unlike other project management systems that focus on flashier, creative fields. As a longtime user, I've seen many improvements over time, which I appreciate. Managing 50-100 different projects at once is much easier now, as before, I struggled to keep up with every step of an engagement. With Karbon, once I set up the project, I know exactly where I am. I also had a good personal onboarding experience at the beginning, which made the setup process smooth.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I was told there was more integration coming with ProConnect, QuickBooks, Calendly, and SmartVault, I really hope so. I can't really export billable time to QuickBooks, and I would like Karbon to add SmartVault as a DMS, as ProConnect has.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon effectively manages clients, workflow, and engagements, integrates with my tax software, helps track 50-100 projects effortlessly, and includes beneficial templates designed for accounting and tax firms.

 ### 37. Efficient Task Management and Time Tracking with Karbon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosalie M. | Accountant/Bookkeeper, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I use Karbon for organizing my work tasks and tracking time, which has made a noticeable difference in my efficiency. I appreciate having both organizing and time tracking in one place as it saves me time and reduces the need to switch between tools, making my work more streamlined. The time tracking feature is particularly useful for understanding how long I'm spending on tasks and ensuring productive use of my time. Another standout feature is the visibility it provides; I love having a clear, real-time overview of all my tasks, deadlines, and workload, which aids in planning and prioritization. The clean and intuitive interface makes it easy to get used to. I also use Karbon alongside Xero and QuickBooks, and I like how they integrate, keeping my financial data accurate and up-to-date. Onboarding was smooth, thanks to its intuitive platform, which didn't take long to learn how to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I think there's room for improvement in customization. Having more options to tailor workflows, dashboards, or views to better match specific working styles would make the experience even more efficient. One suggestion would be to allow more flexibility in how dashboards are set up, such as letting users create personalized views with widgets that highlight the metrics or tasks most relevant to them. This would make it easier to focus on priorities without having to navigate through multiple sections.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Karbon to organize tasks, track time, and see project status. It makes my workflows more efficient, saves time, and provides visibility across tasks and deadlines. The intuitive interface ensures I can manage my workload and prioritize effectively.

 ### 38. Everything in One Place—and Karbon Keeps Getting Better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenn K. | Senior Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

That everything is in one place and Karbon is always getting better

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Since I have been using Karbon for over 5 years, some of the newer features like My Week, I haven't been able to start using because I am overwhelmed with the number of things in there that need to be dealt with. So I just live in my triage, it works for me

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love that Karbon summarizes emails and notes, making it easy to get a quick overview of a client at a glance.

 ### 39. Streamlined Workflow with Room for Improved Email Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I find Karbon fairly intuitive to use once you are up and running. It allows me to focus on the top pages of work that are due by the due date, which really helps in managing tasks. The particular filters let me focus on what needs immediate attention and keep track of other work that needs to be managed. I appreciate the visibility it provides since everything is connected and easy to use, making it available for the whole firm to see. It's easy to mention someone to ensure things move along smoothly, which is a big plus for me.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The main frustration I have with Karbon is the inability to send emails with tables. More and more, I'm moving away from Outlook and trying to send emails via Karbon, but it just can't handle tables. When I send an action item table after a meeting, the formatting gets all messed up, and I have to go back to Outlook to send it properly. Another issue is the lack of better visibility and management of individual tasks within a broader piece of work. When multiple people are working on longer pieces of work concurrently, it gets tricky to know what individual tasks they should focus on. It's easy for things to slip through the cracks during busy periods. Additionally, I'd like to see better integrations, like with Xero, for things like time sheets and external signings, and having more client details like date of birth and address directly in Karbon.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon gives us visibility over accounting and wealth clients, ensuring staff are on the same platform with access to work and correspondences. It helps manage work for existing and potential clients, making it easier to view timelines and maintain clear client communication.

 ### 40. Powerful Templates, Smooth Client Requests, and Valuable Integrations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Work templates, especially the new feature to assign job roles to tasks. Introducing that level of automation means that our work flows remain fluid and easily adaptable as our business scales. Also very much appreciate the client request forms, this has made collecting information from clients far more seamless than the manual process we had in place before and also provides that audit trail which is essential in a senior role like myself. The fact it integrates with a number of other apps we use such as ignition is invaluable. The support is good and usually quick, someone has always been able to chat over the help desk. I've never had issues with speed or Karbon being able to handle larger work flows.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I still feel like Karbon is rather clunky and isn't yet fully water tight. The email stacking is making it difficult for us to fully transition over to using Karbon exclusively for emails, because it's very difficult to easily search and find key information within the stacks, if it were to perfectly mimic an inbox in Outlook we'd be all over it. The search function is frustrating and difficult to find things easily. Being able to re-assign team members to roles is clunky and I find I have to reset the whole work in order to do this, as if a single team member has multiple roles it doesn't allow to reassign just one of the roles. The diary cannot handle a shared calendar and only seems to pick up my main outlook calendar rendering it useless for me. It would be nice to have more automation, i.e if a client disengages, be able to click a button to stop all repeating work items, rather than this be a manual process. The AI functionality could still use some work as it's not always accurate. It would be nice to be able to schedule more than just a client request to go out at a certain point, i.e scheduling reminder emails for clients to go out at a certain date under a template would be amazing. It would be amazing to be able to organise the order of work within categories in My Week, at the moment this is only possible when work is in the 'Working on' area, but would be nice to have that flexibility. It would be nice to be able to flag triage emails, rather than just set an alert. Also it would be super helpful to have a notification bar pop up when something new pops into the triage as just a red dot in the corner means things go missed quite regularly! Also an AI function to build out work templates would be insane!

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collecting client data, managing work flows, managing time sheets and team members. Delegating tasks, leaving audit trail comments and review notes for teams. Onboarding clients via client request forms. We're starting to explore the analytics functionality which we're finding useful, however we can't fully make use of it due to the frustrations we have with the email functionality. Karbon also makes it easier to manage a colleagues emails when they're on annual leave through shared triages.

 ### 41. Karbon workflow and Team collaboration will save us time and frustration!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan K. | Managing Shareholder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

The workflow and collaboration tools will be invaluable for managing our tax season and post-tax-season projects. Being able to link emails to client timelines so the team can easily reference them, will save time and effort and help keep everyone in the loop. In addition being able to assign tasks to team members with commenting and then see the status of completion will also be a huge time saver!

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

There are two challenges I’ve noticed so far with Karbon. First, we aren’t able to delete spam or garbage emails from triage, so they don’t clutter the cleared email bin. I receive at least 100 emails a day that I delete from Outlook as spam or junk, and I’d like to be able to remove those in Karbon as well. Second, we can’t roll back a task completion step to a prior step, including having the automators roll back the related work and task changes after an accidental or incorrect task completion. This will create some challenges in keeping the workflow properly aligned.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Karbon, managing everything from large projects to smaller day-to-day work tasks was a very manual process for us. With Karbon and its built-in collaboration tools, we’ll be able to better manage team workloads, keep tasks from falling through the cracks, and ensure major projects and tax season stay on track.

 ### 42. Enhances Workflow Efficiency but Integration Limits

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I appreciate how Karbon ensures emails are tracked against the necessary client and tasks. It's intuitive and I've received positive feedback from clients about its ease of use. I really like the work templates and how they can be tailored to my practice. Collaboration with my team using internal notes and comments is also a standout feature for me. The initial setup was great, and the team was prompt in addressing any queries. Shahani is a proactive and engaging account manager.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Karbon is quite restricted in integrating with other systems. I use make.com to automate a lot of my functions and repetitive tasks, but Karbon has restrictions that limit my automation capabilities within the software. Only Karbon contact details can be synced using Zapier or make.com, but I'm trying to automate Sharepoint folder linking within Karbon via make.com, which is not currently feasible.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Karbon to track emails with clients and tasks, which is intuitive and gets positive feedback. It helps tailor work templates for my niche market and enables real-time collaboration with my team member through internal comments.

 ### 43. Karbon Brings Clarity and Efficiency—Everything in One Place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marinella C. | Senior Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Karbon has completely transformed the way our team works. The most helpful part is having everything in one place—internal conversations, client emails, and documents—all connected to the right project. The triage and timeline features also make it much easier to prioritize tasks and keep multiple projects moving without losing track. The upsides are clear: better organization, faster workflows, smoother team collaboration, and no more missed emails or tasks. For an accounting firm managing multiple clients, Karbon brings clarity, efficiency, and real peace of mind.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

While Karbon is incredibly helpful, the learning curve can feel steep at first—especially for teams transitioning from multiple tools. It takes time to get comfortable with the workflow and fully understand how the features fit together. This is most noticeable on the client request side: I’d personally prefer to have the same view as the client so that, when someone asks for help, I can immediately see exactly what they’re seeing and support them more efficiently. A dedicated “client perspective” view within Karbon would make handling and managing client requests even smoother.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Karbon, our team was juggling multiple tools, and tasks or client requests would sometimes slip through the cracks. Now that everything is centralized—internal conversations, client emails, documents, and project timelines—we have clear, end-to-end visibility into every project. That visibility has made our workflows more efficient, helped us miss fewer tasks and emails, strengthened team collaboration, and enabled us to respond to clients more quickly and confidently.

 ### 44. Karbon Streamlines Our Workflow with Seamless Collaboration and Top-Tier Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anne Nicole S. | Senior Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Honestly, Karbon has been a total lifesaver for our team’s daily workflow. It’s easily the best tool we’ve found for keeping tasks organized and making collaboration feel seamless rather than chaotic. We’re in the app literally all day, every day, it’s the first tab I open and the last one I close.

I was honestly bracing myself for a nightmare during setup, but the implementation was surprisingly smooth. It didn’t feel like we had to reinvent the wheel. Whenever we did hit a snag, their customer support was top-tier. They don't just send you a link to a help article; they actually talk to you like a human. It feels like they’re genuinely invested in making sure the platform works for our specific quirks.

The sheer number of features is impressive, but it doesn't feel bloated. Everything feels intentional. For example, the ease of integration with our existing tech stack (like our email and document storage) was a huge win. I love that I can turn a random email into a prioritized task with just a click, no more copy-pasting between windows.

One of my favorite features is still the secure client portal. In our line of work, privacy is everything, and this gives both us and our clients real peace of mind knowing confidential files aren't just floating around in emails. Also, a huge shoutout to the automated reminders! It’s one less thing for me to worry about every day. Karbon handles the follow-ups automatically. It’s definitely made our workday much lighter.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

If I had to nitpick, the one thing that bugs me is how the comment section handles copy-pasting. Often, I’ll have text already formatted (like with bolds, bullet points, or specific spacing) but when I paste it into a Karbon comment, all that formatting just disappears. It’s a bit of a pain to have to manually re-format everything just so my team can read it clearly. It’s a small detail, but fixing that would definitely speed up my workflow.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem Karbon solved for me was the manual overhead. I used to live and die by manual checklists, but having a standardized workflow that repeats every month has saved me so much mental energy. I don't have to 'reinvent the wheel' every time a new work item pops up.

Also, the automated client reminders are pure gold. When I’m super busy, the last thing I want to do is hunt through my notes to see who needs a follow-up. Now, I don’t need sticky notes all over my desk—Karbon handles the chasing so I don't have to.

 ### 45. For a Long Time Accounting Office Worker, There's No Better System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Working in accounting offices for over 10 years, Karbon has been the most effective and efficient system I've used to create and track clients, work projects, and work flow. We're able to effortlessly track and review the variety of monthly, quarterly, and annual work our clients require, for both accounting and tax preparation.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Karbon does require active participation by the users. If they do not stay on top of their triage or work flows, the system will over inundate their inbox with project notifications and assignments.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Operating as an office admin, it's easy to create new clients, add the necessary projects and repeating schedules they require, and see where the workflow is at with emails or notes applicable to the specific work projects.

 ### 46. Core Hub for our business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

The work item tracking by team member along with the tracking of work statuses gives such peace of mind knowing that nothing is getting missed. Also, the comments shared via tagging with relevant team members is such a great communication tool.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

The ability to summarize or generate summary dashboard reporting for work status seems more challenging than it should be

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon helps us keep track of all our tax return, payroll processing, monthy bookkeeping, tax planning deadlines along with keeping relevant team members aware of communication with our customers

 ### 47. Easy Weekly Planning and Shared Team Visibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cristal R. | Accountant Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I like that I can organize my calendar around what I’ll be working on each week. I’m also happy that my coworkers can see what each of us has planned for work, which makes it easier to stay on the same page.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Not all of the contacts connect to the company they need to be associated with.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon helps me track how much time I spend with each client, and it also makes it easier to keep my tasks organized.

 ### 48. Karbon Streamlines Tasks, Communication, and Workflow in One Place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

Karbon’s biggest strength is how it brings tasks, communication, and workflow management together in one system. This makes it easier to stay organised, collaborate smoothly with teammates, and track work efficiently from start to finish.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

There isn’t anything I strongly dislike, but there are still clear opportunities to improve usability and customisation. Overall, the experience is fine, yet a few tweaks to make it easier to use and more flexible to personalise would make it better.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon helps manage client work, recurring tasks, and team collaboration more effectively. Having a clear view of workload and project status allows us to streamline processes, improve accountability, and spend less time following up on work, resulting in better client service.

 ### 49. Boosts Clarity and Workflow with Minor Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richie L. | Founder, CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

As the owner of Around Finance, I really appreciate how Karbon helps us manage and produce great work in every possible way. We call it our 'Factory' because it brings clarity to our team, making work delivery smooth. I like that Karbon is designed to promote good work practices by triaging emails into tasks and prioritizing them, which helps our accountants focus on task delivery without getting bogged down by email admin. It's a great piece of kit, the best on the market, and we're happy with it. The team at Karbon is also great, which adds to the positive experience. We're not inclined to move to another product anytime soon.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

Data input around budget creation is super slow and manual. Also, creating repeating work items can be finicky and glitchy at times. Karbon's AI email bot is not great. Initial setup was very difficult and required a lot of effort.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Karbon provides our accounting team with clarity, streamlining work delivery. It converts emails into tasks, prioritizes them, and promotes good work practices. This workflow reduces noise, freeing our team from email admin and allowing them to focus more on actual work delivery.

 ### 50. Clear Weekly View, Fast Performance, and Insightful Analytics in Karbon

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Karbon?**

I like being able to see everything that’s due within the week in one clear view. I also appreciate how easy it is to view all work by type or by client, whether it still needs to be completed or should already have been completed.

I like the option of different integration's within Karbon and with new ones on the horizon.

Its always working at a good speed between working on different sections.

Pricing is fare based on what business insights Karbon provides and the extra small cost for the signatures. As the approval process is great for most bits other than when needing the signature.

We had a great experience when we were onboarded as to help us move all tasks from our previous system. We have also had amazing calls with our client handler Ryan Field as to walk us through how we perform as a company against others with use of Karbon. And also with then using the analytics and engagement's beta.

There is the AI which I think with some more work will be better for when it is trying to generate the email based from the notes.

**What do you dislike about Karbon?**

I think not having easy access to the email templates for when sending approval and signatures and also to have more flexibility on customisation of text.

**What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engagements is a big one as we have been using two different websites to try and build engagement's. As to then make an easier workflow for creating the contact and tasks on karbon.
