The fact that the task lists can be customized and changed based on each client's work makes it easier for employees to help eachother with workloads. Karbon AI has improved our email writing skills a lot. Email templates saves a lot of time. **What do you dislike about Karbon?** There are small enhancements that can still be made in Time and Budgets and I do believe that the client portal will be a great improvement. I couldn't imagine ever going back to excel or any form of manual tracking. Easy to be transparent with my team about our clients, track progress and identify the gaps. **What do you dislike about Karbon?** As new features become available, sometimes mass changes are possible while others times it's not possible. **Recommendations to others considering Karbon:** Allow 1-3 months prep of data and 6-12 months to fully adopt to the product. **What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?** Continuity of communication, transparency, ease of transferring files between team members. It was easy to setup annual works (repeating) that made the first contact with the client in order to acquire the documents needed. Prior to Karbon, this had to be done manually by an internal employee and most of the tasks were redundant. By using Karbon, the employee can now use their time to help the clients instead of copy/pasting template emails. **What do you dislike about Karbon?** At times, the client has issues with their portal (either errors when uploading or issues logging in). **What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?** Karbon sends out the first contact (yearly) to the client requesting documents from a personalized list. I would also like the ability to track emails within Karbon. Right now I have to go into Gmail and use Boomerang to track emails. I love the ability to attach emails to projects so that they can easily be referenced or found at a later date. Having doucment s from emails also attach to the documents tab is very helpful. I also like the ability to see all my work status or my whole teams in one spot which is helpful for deligating projects. **What do you dislike about Karbon?** I wish that My Week was broken down by day for the current week, it would make it more useful, and I wish that the KPI reports updated in real time not 24 hours **What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?** Decluttering emails, ensuring all communication received is attached to a contact or project so nothing is lost and creates a paper trail. Being able to add the email as a work item is a major benefit. I can assign it to myself; that window brings up the ability to select a date for a deadline and make notes when I assign it (to myself or others). If I need to assign it to someone else I can. If I need to ask someone about anything in that email I can comment on the email and tag another member of the team to see if they can provide insights without forwarding the email cluttering their inbox. That feature is a blessing for the inbox. Also, anything someone assigns me shows up in my triage. I can easily add it to my work/to-do's and comment back with any questions I may have about the assigned item. I prefer the split view as it is much easier to work in, but I like that I can go back to the standard view. The options for the email are most accommodating for anyone! **What do you dislike about Karbon?** The timekeeping/timer. The timer is nice but not great. I imagine it's perfect for contractors who need to log their time for a few clients. But in all reality for an accounting company that has several clients they click in and out of each day, it does not transition easily. I would prefer something similar to Tsheets/QBTime (whatever they are called now). Something where I can select the next client/internal admin I'll be working on next from a drop-down list of my clients without having to search for the next client after I log my time. Something that I can make notes in while I'm working on that client instead of waiting to stop the timer and then losing 2-5 minutes of entering the work I completed for that client. Also, something that I won't lose time in between switching clients after having to search for them. If I had the above abilities for time tracking I would not need to take notes on paper for my tasks on that work item nor write down my time when I start and stop for that client. I am a bit old school so I keep a notepad of my time. I could eliminate that if the time were more functional. I do LOVE the layout of the Time for each day and the week where I can easily look at what I did each day. Having the ability to see my notes and the task type all in one view is perfect! That view makes it easier to spot anything I may need to adjust before submitting my time at the end of the week. **What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?** Karbon solves the workflow. It aids in communicating with other team members about projects or work that needs to be done. The Triage is an amazing benefit to assign work to yourself from your emails or to assign it to others and comment on emails where we can tag other team members and ask questions. We can change and update tasks and work items ourselves. That ability makes it easier as we progress each month with our clients--making notes or updating tasks for new procedures for the client. Keeping tasks up to date helps if anyone needs to jump into a client to help. The biggest benefit of Karbon is the communication options: email, commenting, and assigning work items to our clients as well as commenting on a clients work item were the client can respond. As well as marking tasks complete, waiting on a client, moving to the next work item, etc. All major benefits for communicating where we are on a task/work item. ### 12. Work reports allow for an easy way to get the big picture of where all of a certain type of project is, such as monthly accounting or annual tax returns. And everthing is easy to read and easy to follow. **What do you dislike about Karbon?** There are little downsides to Karbon, after working with many similar accounting CRMs. If any, projects with multiple people who handle it can occuasionally get muddled, mostly due to user error of those not familiar enough with the system. **What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ease of setting up, tracking, and following the status of any open project, be it monthly accounting or tax returns. ### 20. The mail integration that allows emails to be associated with specific clients or projects is simply invaluable. Although I do prepare tax returns, I do a significant amount of consulting work for small business owners. These are entrepreneurs who constantly have requests ranging from small projects of less than 2 hours to other projects that exceed 100 hours. Keeping track of just over 200 of these projects was an administrative nightmare prior to using Karbon. Lossing track of project status also negatively impacted revenue generation. Once we implemented Karbon our monthly billings increased dramatically. I have absolutely no regrets about our decision to implement Karbon **What do you dislike about Karbon?** The only downside of Karbon is that a small practioner can be assigned emails by various clients. Especially when you perform a lot of work for them as a contract CFO. Karbon only allows one email to be associated with a user ID. It would be very helpful to allow a user to have multiple emails feed into Karbon. **What problems is Karbon solving and how is that benefiting you?** Karbon helps us keep track of the status of open projects. The term in Karbon is Work Items. In our small firm we always have between 250 and 300 work items to track. Karbon has allowed us to become highly effective at tracking status which results in getting more work completed on a more timely basis which results in faster revenue billing. ### 48.
