I like the combination of proposals, engagement letters, invoicing and workflow all in one. The program continues to add to its abilities too.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

Support is non-existent.  And you will NEED support.  It takes hours/days for responses.  Their print to file has numerous bugs, creating extra steps to upload docs to vault and send esignatures.  Time savings of software is more than offset by time spent trying to get support.

**What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software streamlines client communications and makes getting responses easy.  However, the problems with printing to the vault offset the time savings.

**What do you like best about TaxDome?**

My clients have had relative ease in using the software. Although this is the first year, we have had a smooth rollout of the product. It has improved the client experience and communication is now easier and smoother.

The workflow tracking has been an outstanding addition and replaced manual systems.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

I wish TaxDome would sync with my payment processing software. I do not wish to switch payment providers and cannot disable the firm balance on the client-facing side. Clients missed our notice to ignore so it requires responses.

Taxdome is proving seamless client communication and great AI integration. It is becoming a tremendous time-saver.

**What do you like best about TaxDome?**

I had the pleasure of receiving a 1.5-hour personal demo of TaxDome from Louis Bellhouse, and I must say – it was an excellent experience. Louis was not only knowledgeable and clear in his explanations, but he also took the time to tailor the demonstration to my specific needs as a solo bookkeeper.

He walked me through the key features in a structured way, answering all my questions thoroughly and offering useful insights into how TaxDome could optimize my workflow and client communication. His patience, professionalism, and deep understanding of the platform really stood out.

Thanks to this session, I feel much more confident about what TaxDome can offer and how I could apply it to my practice. Highly recommend the demo – and Louis in particular – to anyone considering the platform.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

As a Dutch bookkeeper, I only wish I had discovered TaxDome sooner. The platform seems to offer exactly the kind of structure and client interaction I’ve been looking for. But of course—that’s easy to say in hindsight.

Scattered Communication
I no longer have to chase clients across emails, WhatsApp, or separate portals. With TaxDome, I centralize all messages, reminders, and client responses in one secure client portal.

Document Collection Chaos
TaxDome allows me to automate document requests (monthly, quarterly, yearly) and follow up automatically, so I don't waste time sending reminders manually.

Client Clarity & Deadlines
Every client has their own workspace with tasks, deadlines, and to-dos. I always know what I’m waiting on, and clients know exactly what to deliver and when.

Signature Delays
With built-in e-signatures, I can send documents directly for signing—no need for printing, scanning, or chasing.

Billing & Engagement Letters
I can send proposals, invoices, and engagement letters directly from the platform—digitally and professionally. Everything is trackable.

Too Many Tools

**What do you like best about TaxDome?**

It is a convenient tool for a small CPA practice. I also like how it is constantly improving and adding new features.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

There are still many technical issues. Namely, the TaxDome printer and desktop app have been glitchy. Additionally, some clients reported experiencing issues with logging into their accounts. Also, UX can be better. It's great that there are a lot of features, but it is sometimes overwhelming. Setting up workflows and tesks is frustrating.

**What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Given the nature of the business, there are a lot of deadlines to monitor. TaxDome has potential of being a great tool for that. Right now, it is too clunky and burdonsome to be an efficient, but it could be very useful if some improvement can be made.

It has been better than the previous software we used.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

The salesman lied or exaggerated about most of its features and capabilities.  We have sent in numerous inquiries about basic functionality around invoicing, reporting, category flexibility, notifications, email distribution lists, ability to delete multiple emails simultaneously, and many other issues that we were told TaxDome can do.  Each time we received responses saying, "We are aware of the shortcomings, but this feature is not available and there is nothing we can do to help."

They NEVER solve our problems, are slow to respond to questions, always deflect blame to others, do not seem to understand the day-to-day needs of accounting & tax firms, and does not seem to care about making the product better.

Makes a new tax firm go from 0 to up and running much faster. Gives you right out of the gate a professional looking customer profile with secure upload, signatures etc… it basically makes your firm look advanced. You can then scale into much more advanced features with ease.

Needs more AI features asap. For example: auto parsing docs to extract metadata.

I like the ease of use and interface. It was very easy to navigate at first glance and even when I onboard clients, they find it super simple too. It’s been a game changer to streamline communication between us.

The only downside I would say is annual pricing commitment, especially if you have multiple people in your firm that need their own logins for audit purposes and tasking.

I initially signed on with TaxDome because of a few features. But the more time I spend using the program, I've really grown to love it.  I love TaxDome has the willingness to continue to grow and be innovative.

The only thing I dislike about TaxDome is the pricing model. For each user, I have to purchase an additional package.

synced inbox and client portal access. Also love that I have a one stop shop to view everything I need to.

pipeline workflow kanban only viewing. Also, it's not very clear to me how to track things beyond using tags or tasks for items that have a deadline far into the future without clutturing the task system.

I like that I am able to base my workflow on set controls and unique commands for my business. I love that they are adding new things to make my job easier.

I do feel the constant increase seems to be sudden for features I don’t even use within TaxDome. I only use the transcript integration but I’m hopeful that I can integrate my calendar or other platforms I love.

I really only care about how my clients are managing their portal. An easy to use portal for them helps me avoid complaints.

**What do you like best about TaxDome?**

I love that I'm able to keep all my client data in one portal. We've been using onedrive for client files and taxdome allows for the documents to be stored in a much cleaner way. It's also a lot easier to share clients safely with my clients. Implementation went smoothly with the help of the taxdome team. It's a learning experience in the beginning but once you get the hang of it, it's second nature. I use it all day every day. Can't imagine going back.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

My one qualm is that I cannot directly print from my tax software into taxdome, for some reason my tax software is giving me problems but the tax dome team is working on it.

**What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to streamline my process. It has allowed me to teach staff easier by adding instructions to all tasks, thus speeding up the training process. It allows for safe sharing of files without the need for me to set passwords for everything thus saving me time. It also saves me time in getting paid.

**What do you like best about TaxDome?**

There are so many useful tools within TaxDome! The use of pipelines allows us to automate several of the admin items to free up time, clients love how user friendly it is, and tags make it so easy to keep things organized. Lots of great features all in one place. The program is easy to implement and the more we use it, the more features we discover that help us streamline tasks even further.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

There are a few feature improvements I'm anxious to see implemented, like being able to save multiple files to the same folder for different clients instead of having to choose the destination folder individually. I will say that TaxDome does a wonderful job of listening to their client needs and working on resolutions. Customer Service is top-notch and always accessible, and that's a huge plus.

**What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to consolidate our client portal, billing, and workflow tracking processes into one program has been a huge benefit and time-saver. The user-friendly interface has been well received by our clients and allows us to get information needed quickly and efficiently.

**What do you like best about TaxDome?**

While I have used TaxDome for accounting and tax preparation, I also use it for the publishing company I co-own. My business partner and I at DoxaNous Media have found that it helps our authors and other clients to see the progress on their work as we move them along the pipeline. We're more productive and we can offer a more personable service to our clients. 

TaxDome is leaps and bounds more robust than other project management SaaS we have tried. The applications are endless. I recommend TaxDome for any business.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

I wish we could white label the client side mobile app name, but I realize this might not be possible to do. Since the app name is TaxDome, it has prompted questions from our clients, but they all have responded positively to the portal experience.

We also need to include some video files with our clients accounts, but this is not a feature currently allowed. The website says it is for security reasons, and this makes sense with many of the less common formats, but .mov, .mp4, and .avi make up 99% of the most common usage within the media industries. If these three formats could be allowed, it would be of great benefit.

It's more robust than many of the generalized options. So, it is helping us to organize our business in the publishing and media production industries.

**What do you like best about TaxDome?**

TaxDome does almost everything I need in my firm. I LOVE the lock to invoice feature so that I never deliver a product to a client without recieving payment. Signatures are easy and we love the document uploading/sharing. Automations are wonderful for saving time. It is highly customizable which is a great thing to be able to set up pipelines for multiple types of work.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

TaxDome has alot of great feature and as with any product that does alot of things, some things are great and others leave alot to be desired. The hardest to manage is set up and maintaince of pipelines. While the software does create a lot of admin time savings with automations, it will become a member of the firm's new job to learn and manage the software so nothing breaks. I paid WFTP to set up my pipelines and have to continueally make sure everything is still working as intended. 

My biggest complaint is the task management. I tried and tried and tried to make the task management function work for my firm, but it was too cumbersome and not easy to prioritize things. It was hard to keep up with what we actually need to be doing each day.  So we have invested in a different task/work management tool for our internal processes. 

We like built in document editor viewing screen. We need to be able to minimize the functions/header bar to see more of the document when viewing in the editor. 

I would love to see the proposals work more like an actual proposal, with a more attractive format that sends a contract after the client has approved the proposal. 

Invoicing has been improving but I would love to be able to use the recurring payment authorizations with CPA charge directly within TaxDome.

The automations make it alot easier to be sure we do all the little things consistantly without wasting admin time. We were also able to centralize all client communications to TaxDome and got rid of email, fax and phone in our client facing interactions. I love that we can now edit and delete chats. It has also drastically reduced the amount of time we spend printing and mailing engagement letters, scanning documents client drop off (now they just uploade them), and helps us stay on top of outstanding client requests with scheduled automated reminders.

The simplicity of the entire system and the modern UI design that is far more practical than any other practice management system such as Canopy and Karbon. The implemintation process is very simple and there are tons of helpful support articles and customer service is always available to help in a reasonable amount of time. I have used this software every day and it is vital to our operations and in collecting our sales. I also love being able to see what other people are doing with their practice.

This really could be your one-stop shop for your firm.  Workflow management, electronic signatures with KBA, client portal, chat, etc.  They are also actively developing and releasing new features, so it will become more useful over time.  There is also a very active community to help with best practices.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

Can be a little daunting to get set up, but again this is where the community can be helpful.  Portal upload has a file size limit of 300MB, which wile fine for most things is on the small side.  There is also the downsides that come with using an all-in-one solution vs. dedicated apps: each feature has a competitor that is just a little bit better.  In my case, this was most noticable on the proposal and billing side, where I'm using a dedicated app for that function rather than the built-in functionality of TaxDome.  To be fair though, that app is 3x the cost of TD all by itself.

It gives me a secure way to send and receive documents with my clients, track projects, and get documents electronically signed.  Having all those features in one place makes it easier for my clients to interact with me and follow processes.

This is my first year using TaxDome and after a small learning curve I was up and running - sending out Engagement Letters and requests for organizers, deposits and documents with ease. I also like that hold times are very short with Customer Service and the onboarding process was very easy.

In the 9 months that I have been using TaxDome, I really haven't found any downside. I have been looking for a CRM that did certain tasks and with TaxDome, I can check of all the boxes and more.

TaxDome is solving the problem that I have had each period following up with clients to get what I need, whether it is for monthly bookkeeping, or annual taxes.  The benefit is that I am no longer spending time chasing down what I need from clients. TaxDome does that for me.

TaxDome is great because it helps with overseeing our team's productivity and maximizes our efficiency during tax prep.  We are able to pull reports to see how long each task takes, how long job cards are in certain stages which allows us to re-assess our production strategies.  The ease of implementing automation to our workflow is what allows each team member to focus on their tasks without certain jobs falling through the cracks.  Our clients always commends on how easy it is to use the platform, from uploadnig to documents, chatting, and highlights the transparency of being able to see where their tax returns are at each stage. Customer support is highly rated as well.  Personally, I love being able to send a chat and hearing back from someone within a couple of minutes.  Any problems we've had, if the rep couldn't help, they'd escalate - and escalate quickly.  Makes us, as a customer, feel priortized .

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

One of my main concerns about Tax Dome is not being able to merge documents so easily.  As the person in charge of document management, converting jpgs to pdfs THEN merging the docs is time consuming.  Hope that can get fixed in the future.

In the beginning: The automations and pipelines are what I'm most excited to see in action.  I'm also looking forward to seeing the time saved aspect.  I appreciate that the customer support has been great too.  I'm still working through the videos but the Ease of Implementation seems to be good too.  I'll come back after I've been using it for a bit to update this review.

6 months in: 
I am loving Tax Fome and its automations and pipelines! I joined a group called Workflows for Tax Pros" and they help me set up a few more pipelines that I have loved.  I will be making some more before we jump into the next return season too.  I would recommend this product to anyone and I would also say join the groups that help you actually customize all the cool features, because there are a ton! Happy I found this product.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

I don't really dislike anything yet.  I had some challenges when uploading the client list but I found a fix for that and it seems to going well so far.

Update: the dislikes usually fall on me still learning about features and just not fully knowing how to utilize or further customize them.

Automations is the first thing I think of. 
A nice CRM also!

We love using Taxdome in our firm as a customized approach for the way we work.  In the past we used softwares that were built for you and they fell short on options to tailor to our needs.  Taxdome is continuously rolling out new features and investing in the customer experience.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

The complexity of the software ensures you can build a great workflow but you have to invest the time to understand the process and evolve your pipelines.  The best advice I received when I was beginning to use the software came from the TD community of users.  I asked who I could hire to implement & build out our pipelines and so many users advised against that because you need to know how your processes work and keep up with changes you may need as the business evolves.  I'm happy I know how to build it out now but it is a time investment.

**What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taxdome automates our workflows and passes off tasks automatically between staff members to eliminate the back and forth.  The automations keep the client accounts updated with folders and tagging while the automovement through a workflow keeps all staff members focussed on their tasks.  The communications between all staff members and the clients is archived for all to see so we are all operating on the same information even when covering client work for an employee on vacation or leave.  From client or employee onboarding to bookkeeping to taxes...we manage it all in TD and focus on teaching every client to use the portal to its full functionality.

Tech support is very fast and responsive. Tax Dome is very oriented toward communicating with the clients. The automations are unparalleled. Their Tax Dome Academy resources are very helpful. I'm encouraged by how aggressive the team is about rolling out new improvements and continuting to develop the product. Integration with QuickBooks Online is seemless. The lack of accounts receivable function in TaxDome will be a good thing and force us to focus on getting paid when we perform the service. We're finding it easy to use and the learning curve is quick. Implementation went quickly.

**What do you dislike about TaxDome?**

Billing is limited. If you realize that the TaxDome focus is to get paid with the job then you will be well served. It's not oriented toward letting your clients pay over time and managing an Accounts Receivable. Work in Process is cumbersome and billing is cumbersome if you're trying to bill from the time charges. The PDF function is OK, but too limited: we will continue using Adobe on the side. Frustrating that you cannot use Outlook to open e-mails that are saved in client documents as part of the job. Inbox+ is helpful but still a little limiting.

Speed and simplicity of use. Streamlining of processes. Automation of our processes.

The only downside is that there is not a clean integration between the tax prep software platforms. There's still a decent amount of manual entry and download/upload between systems. I understand why, and I actually like that I could switch tax prep softwares with zero impact on my clients because they don't interface directly with it, but as the firm grows, this would be a consideration that may turn me in another direction.

I love TaxDome for the convenience it offers our clients, especially through the app. The project tracking feature is also a standout, making it easy to manage and monitor tasks efficiently.

I’ve encountered a few downsides with the software, particularly in relation to invoicing. There are recurring syncing errors with our QuickBooks integration, which creates extra work. Additionally, I've recently had a recurring invoice payment fail, and there’s no alert system in place to notify us when that happens. I've also not had any luck in regards to solution. This may be a Stripe issue, but since they are so closely integrated I would have hoped for better. Another area for improvement is the client dashboards. It would be much more helpful if the dashboard was customizable or displayed key details like phone numbers and other important client information upfront.
