Currently, my main frustration is the lack of transparency in how Generative Credits are managed. It's often unclear how many credits are used for each operation, and there is no way to view detailed consumption history. Another limitation is that only two avatars can appear together in a single scene, which means that multi-person conversations have to be created by combining separate single-person scenes. When generating appearances, the same character can look very different depending on the angle or clothing, so I frequently have to adjust prompts to achieve consistency. I really like how simple and intuitive HeyGen is to use. The interface is clean, and I didn’t need any tutorials to understand how to create videos.

Extremely disappointing experience – unreliable service, critical failures, and zero accountability.

I purchased HeyGen specifically to speed up an important multilingual video project with tight deadlines. Instead, the platform completely failed on the most essential part: batch translations simply do not work. Every single language returned an error, repeatedly, despite being a basic paid feature.

Support acknowledged the issue but offered no real solution, no timeline, and no compensation. Their answer was essentially “we escalated your ticket, wait indefinitely.”

Meanwhile, my work is blocked for days, my deadlines are compromised, and I risk losing actual clients because of this service outage.

What makes it worse is the total lack of transparency:

– No explanation of why the translations fail

– No ETA

– No alternative or workaround

– No offer of refund despite the clear financial damage caused

– No prioritisation even for paying customers

HeyGen promotes itself as a professional tool, but the reliability I experienced is far from acceptable for business use. When your product fails, and your support cannot provide immediate action or accountability, customers lose trust — and I have.

I believe that newcomers to the platform would benefit from a clear visual reminder when they are running low on credits or generations. With the excitement that comes from using something new, it's easy to overlook how many generations are left. Sometimes, when the results aren't perfect, users may need to try several times to get it right. In these cases, they might not realize they're running out until it's too late, and then they have to upgrade to continue, which is understandable. But other than that HEYGEN, you guys did great. I am testing this for my company doing a HSE induction and i am having soo much fun, really hope the final product comes out great with the remaining features i have. I needed to create videos featuring my own voice and image for marketing purposes, such as discussing my services and what I can offer. As someone who specialises in Search Engine Optimization, I wanted an alternative to constantly recording myself, so I decided to try HeyGen after seeing it recommended in a YouTube video. I was genuinely surprised by how accurately it captured my likeness, especially since AI doesn't always deliver as expected. Regarding my voice, I would say it is about 90% accurate. It did add a slight Australian accent, even though I am South African, but the tone and overall sound of my voice were almost perfect, which left me very satisfied with the results. The final videos looked impressively life-like, almost as if it were actually me. The way my eyes blinked and the way I spoke were particularly impressive. While I hope to see some features improve over time, I appreciate that people can use existing avatars, self-generated avatars, or their own images to create stories, product presentations, and pitches. From a business standpoint, this tool is especially useful for sites that incorporate training videos, as you can capture a person's voice and mannerisms once and then generate future videos from text, eliminating the need to pay someone to deliver them in person.
