I love how HeyGen enables me to sync my voice in my video very, very well. The interface is very easy to use, making it accessible for creating videos without needing manuals. The quality of being able to redo and rerender is very important to me. I also enjoy using the cinematic mode, which enables me to act more like a producer and put multiple avatars into one video, adding a lot of depth and dimension. The AI scripting feature helps quite a bit, and I find it adds an extra dimension to everything I do. I like seeing the renderings after they're done and being able to re them. As a content marketer, I use HeyGen mainly to translate video content from Russian into English, and it has become a very valuable part of my workflow.

The feature I use most often is video translation. I work with social media content, and HeyGen helps me quickly adapt videos for an English-speaking audience without having to reshoot everything or spend extra resources on a separate production process.

HeyGen has been central to a fully automated AI avatar content channels. The channel is @faustina.speaks on Youtube shorts, Instagram & Facebook reels. All the AI avatar videos were programmatically created using HeyGen API which was called from n8n automation platform. The API service has been very reliable so far. I like the ease of use.

Then the support team has been awesome. The are very very responsive and quick to answer. The the API documentation is fine.

Very easy to get started. Once rolling, making additional videos is super quick. Gotta love how easy it is to edit a "almost done" video - both minor changes and major scene addition/deletion. I admit that it takes a little investment in TIME to really understand all the options in producing your videos...but I'm finding more joy every day I dig deeper. The biggest improvement IMHO would be better AI help with picking the best template...although pretty good right now, there are so many to choose from, it would be helpful for the HeyGen AI to just give me a Top-10 best choices. The technology for helping one create amazing personalised content is next level. Yes, the free version is fairly limited as to what you can create, but once you start using the avatar models IV and above, you truly get to see how amazing this product is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My journey with HeyGen started as a creative experiment, using it to animate anime characters and have them deliver short, entertaining quotes. It was a fun proof-of-concept, but I quickly realized the platform’s true potential lies in creating high-quality product marketing and explainer videos.

As a freelancer, HeyGen’s PDF-to-video feature is a game-changer. I can upload a digital product document, and the AI agent automatically analyzes it to showcase the product seamlessly. Being able to select an avatar and voice that perfectly align with my brand identity allows me to create highly targeted videos that truly resonate with my audience.

A major turning point for my workflow has been HeyGen's updated drafting system. When I first joined, you had to spend credits blindly. Now, the platform allows you to review and edit drafts before committing credits to final generation—a massive time- and cost-saver.

While premium tiers promise more dedicated support, the platform is so intuitive and consistently over-delivers that I haven't even needed to utilize it. In terms of performance, rendering speeds are highly efficient, though generation times naturally vary depending on whether you're using the AI to script from a prompt or rendering a finalized draft. I believe I am able to integrate my AI workflow into an existing stack and connect it to some tools, but truth be told, I have not done so myself yet. I will in future. Right now, the biggest drawback of the free/basic tier is the inability to download watermarked videos. I would highly recommend allowing users a small monthly allotment—perhaps three free downloads per month.

When I first joined, downloading seemed to work, but within the last five days, I wasn’t able to download my latest video. If there is a strict lifetime limit on free downloads (for example, "5 free downloads for the lifetime of the account"), that isn't entirely clear on the interface. If that's the policy, no worries at all—but making that limit explicitly clear in the UI text would prevent a lot of confusion and save users from hitting an unexpected wall.
