## Descript Reviews
 ### 1. This product is an obvious must have!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Skyler F. | Podcast Host & Financial Coach, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

This tool is a must-have for anyone making a podcast or learning-based content. It has saved me so much time it's unreal! I purchased it over other programs that were on sale because that is how good it is. It fits really well into my process of recording my podcast and makes it so easy to record and then edit with the Squadcast integration. I use it daily without any issues or frustrations.

Everyone else I talk to recommends Descript and now I can as well!

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

There is a little bit of a learning curve to using this program vs things like Adobe Premiere Pro. But I got the hang of it very quickly!

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Start to finish with a podcast. It is all done in Descript with Squadcast. I record, edit, remix, create clips, use AI, and everything else I need to do with my podcast. (Money Talk with Skyler Fleming)

 ### 3. The best thing to happen to video editing since iMovie

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joelle G. | Strategy and Revenue Catalyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Descript creates a transcript and I can edit, move, copy/paste, using the words rather than looking for the exact second in the movie where I need to make a cut. Saves time, looks professional. Underlord is pretty terrific too. Their customer success is responsive and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

1. It needs to publish to Instagram and LinkedIn natively
2. It would be great if I could take the same clip and create multiple versions automatically for different media - Youtube is horizontal landscape, Instagram prefers square, and LinkedIn prefers portrait. I have to make three copies of each clip.
3. I'd love to have a way to have an admin work with me without giving them a full license and seat.
4. The help should have language and guidelines for non-video experts.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do many podcasts and Descript is how I repurpose the content and promote the podcasts and my expertise.

 ### 4. The greatest time-saver I've ever used.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julian F. | Sadly, my role ended as a Digital Communications Manager a few weeks ago., Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Editing is amazingly easy, fast and accurate.

I love the "Remove Retakes" feature, found within the "Under Lord" section. What a massive time saver that is for me.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Words it cannot transcribe to (US) English can be removed from the audio track. You can retrieve them, but you lose time doing so. Also not a fan of a massive price hike. I think it doubled this year. It still saves more time than it costs to use it, but even so...

Sometimes the transcription goes completely bonkers. I once had a section which was transcribed as "um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um um" and since there seems to be no way to ask it to re-transcribe, the transcription service is less than useless. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Another transcription glitch occurs when, during a transcribed section, it tells you the website of the transcription service actually performing the service! How weird (and pointless) is that?

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Re-takes! Wow this is an amazing feature. As it was, Descript was saving me a huge amount of time because I could see, highlight, and remove my re-takes. But Descript now does this for you. Not only that, but seems to be taking the best bits of your best re-takes. So, if Descript likes the way you started a sentence in Take 1, and preferred the end of your sentence in Take 4, then it will splice Take 1 and Take 4 together for you. If you don't agree, you have complete authority to do it your way. Nothing is lost.

 ### 5. Cost effective & easy for non-techy person

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Missy Y. | Owner, Pediatric Sleep Consultant at Slumber and Bloom, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Underlord features are the absolute best. It saves hours of editing. I post one video per week, so making this a quick process is so important. I'm not tech-savvy so this helps me a ton! It also saves me money on a professional editor which was necessary as I had to make cuts this year! I LOVE the YouTube description part and the fact that I can copy and paste the entire transcript into Chat GPT to create a blog post.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Nothing comes to mind. The more I use it the more tricks I learn and it gets easier and faster every time!

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saving time and money! I'm a sleep consultant working one on one with clients. I don't have time or want to spend a ton of time editing. I don't like it, but it's a necessary part of content creation. Descript makes it easier and faster.

 ### 6. Love Descript

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I love Descript because it is fast and user friendly. It constantly updates to new features that makes it easier to use. I do transcriptions with this app and adding speaker labels, correcting spelling, timestamps and removing fillers are automatic and very easy, quick and time saving. I'm amazed when I learned that it can be a video editing tool, too and can make voiceovers.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Nothing! I love everything about Descript.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Saves me time with my admin tasks.

 ### 7. Makes editing easy for the non-editor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay V. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I am a new course creator and didn't have it in my budget to hire a video editor for my content. Using descript made editing my videos so easy, I love being able to edit the video right on the script instead of trying to cut and paste in timeline format. It saves me so much time! The AI tools are also super easy to use and save a ton of time (like cutting out every "um" in my video with one click!)

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

The system is very robust so it can feel a little daunting to get started. I know I am only using a small portion of what the system is capable of, but I will learn more features in time!

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have room in my budget currently to hire a video editor, so Descript makes that easy and affordable to DIY.

 ### 8. Easy Video Creation with Impressive AI, Minor Download Issues

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SYED ABRAR MEHDI S. | Account, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Easy to use and very good ai to generate video

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Sometimes downloaded videos are not able to open in normal folders or files

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very impressive

 ### 9. Fantastic way to edit content — but not entirely hassle-free

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh David M. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Editing through text is a very efficient way to get through a lot of larger edits very quickly. For first passes of A-roll video (or podcast audio), it's almost unbeatable — no scrubbing required. The AI tools are also great time-savers, and should not be ignored.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

The edit points are soemtimes pretty rough, and there's very rarely a video that I edit where i don't have to open the timeline to make some tweaks to where it cuts things. There are also occasional bugs and UX quirks that create headaches, though it's still more efficient on average than using an NLE (I otherwise use Resolve). Because of it's emphasis on text editing, it's far less useful for editing B-roll, which is less efficient than an NLE.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript helps me get content out quickly — otherwise, it just sits in the queue.

 ### 10. Disrupting Industry, Growing My Bottom Line.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen A. H. | Marketing Coach, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Ease of use. I've had Descript for years and hardly used it. But with the addition of Underlord, I came back to it following a discussion with the team at Podcast Movement, and it's now become my #1 tool in my tech stack. I'm creating workflows to execute and publish vertical videos in mass. And now creating a video-as-a-service offering for my marketing agency, where i'm using Descript as my tech to provide my clients with top quality videos. I'm able to be more efficient, which allows me to serve more customers and earn more money.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

While I absolutely LOVE the platform, I'd love to see more templates/layouts for intros/outros, lower thirds, and transitions between scenes.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to capture video, edit video from transcripts, do a ton of AI edits using UnderLord, and enhance with minimal effort.

 ### 11. How to increase productivity and content volume with small team using Descript

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael L. | Senior Director Engineering for User Knowledge Innovation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Editing content using text based scripts. It is much faster than using standard timeline based content editors.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Mostly a platform maturity thing in adding enterprise style features for content management. Some of the AI visual content generation needs to evolve for enterprise style graphics vs artsy style graphics. Other platforms are doing a better job, but these deficiencies are expected to be temporary as AI functions across all vendors mature and as Descript matures to support larger enterprise customers with diverse content teams.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a small team that needs to create content at high speed and high quality. The only way to do that is to incorporate tools that drive time efficiency and content reuse. The other requirement was an easy way to update existing content based on changes in products, use cases and other business objectives.

 ### 12. I use Descript for creating video clips almost every day.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Denise W. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I've a Descript customer for a few years. Early on, it felt clunky and hard to figure out. However, in the last year Descript has been my go-to audio and video edting tool, especially with the addition of the AI Overlord addition. Right after I publish and article, I upload it to Descript and start creating audiograms. Editing is so easy now and with Studio Sound, removing filler words, templates and generating short video clips, I'm creating more content, more quickly.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Sometimes it's difficult to figure where to find features I want to use or how to use them. But, eventually I figure it out .

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's faster to create content to use for promoting my business. The time savings is significant so I feel I can create more and better video content without being an editor.

 ### 13. Took some figuring out, but great in the end!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kellene V. | Director of Training, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I'm not very technical at all which is what initially attracted me to Descript. And in fact when I first started using it, I was in tears because I couldn't get it to do what I needed. But after some diligence I finally figured it and have now done 12 episodes of my podcast. I've definitely got the hang of it now and am glad I went with them. Being able to have the transcript right after I'm done, and the editing is so simple!

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

it's a bit of a learning curve initially, not as simple as I was initially shown especially when it comes to inserting and intro

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's giving me a simple way to edit my podcasts. I'm scared to try my videos, but I will once I get ahead of my podcasts.

 ### 14. After three years, I continue to have a love/meh experience with Descript.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen Schouest L. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Easy project management (especially retrieval of previous versions) and easy removal of most (never all) repeat words.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

After three years of repeated complaints and requests for improvement, Descript's AI engine still "goes rogue" with the same types of phrases. This is not unique to Descript. I've seen it with other products as well, and they all have a similar response, that the LLM model is always "learning" or "trying to learn" to improve the outcome, and there's no way to control the specific issues I've complained about and "teach" the AI engine to type exactly what it hears. But I don't buy it. Other responses have repeatedly suggested less-than-clear audio is to blame, which has *never* been the case.

What adds to my angst about this behavior is it doesn't happen 100% of the time, but at least 50% of the time, and these particular issues are patterns that cannot be overcome with macros or other editorial clean-up automation because you do not know which are incorrect until you listen to the audio. It greatly slows down the proofing-to-audio process to have to correct these issues that are not "listening errors" but rogue AI decisions.

In no particular order of importance:

"OF" WITH DATES:
Spoken: "January 1st of 2021" or "January 1 of 2021"
Sometimes transcribed: "January 1st, 2021" or "January 1, 2021"

ORDINALS ADDED OR REMOVED:
Spoken: "January 1st, 2021"
Sometimes transcribed: "January 1, 2021"
Spoken: "January 1, 201"
Sometimes transcribed: "January 1st, 2021"

CONTRACTIONS:
Spoken: "I haven't heard a response."
Sometimes transcribed: "I have not heard a response."
Spoken: "I have not heard a response."
Sometimes transcribed: "I haven't heard a response."

I have recently discovered another AI engine that transcribed these types of phrases with 100% accuracy, using the same audio that had been run through Descript with a 50% or more error rate. So it certainly IS possible to tweak the AI engine to transcribe exactly what is spoken and not what it thinks is better.

Another issue I have is the limited usefulness of the Transcription Glossary feature. It does not allow the use of numbers, for starters. In my work, I get a lot of the same words or phrases that include numbers, such as Rule 404(b), which Descripts transcribes as 4 0 4 B or 4 0 4 b. It also seems arbitrary in how it interprets and applies words and phrases in the glossary, applying them some of the time and ignoring them other times when it is clear that it should have. For example, if I know the audio will include many references to "Joann," and I add that to the glossary, I might get 15 instances of "Joann" along with several instances of "Jo Ann" and "Jo Anne."

The big carrot that keeps me tied to Descript is the ability to remove duplicate words. It never removes all of them, but it removes enough to greatly reduce the time needed to remove them during proofing. This is not something that can be easily automated, so I continue to give more weight to this feature than I probably should. In the case of the other AI engine that I also use, the carrot in that one is the unlimited upload hours per month feature, which is significant (Descript's subscription model is limited to 30 hours per month). But I am continuously on the lookout for an AI engine that checks all the boxes for transcription accuracy, ease of use, overall cost, and removing repeat words.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating the transcription process has been a blessing for my productivity because my hands are in constant pain from years of abuse and progressively worsening arthritis.

**Official Response from Christiana Cromer:**

> Hey there Karen, thank you so much for taking the time to write out this detailed and thoughtful feedback! I'm sorry to hear our transcription has let you down in some circumstances, and I'm going to share your feedback with our team working to improve this feature. As we continue to improve this area of our product, our goal will be to turn that love/hate relationship into just a love one!

Thanks again for your detailed thoughts here. We appreciate it!

 ### 15. Video editing for the non-techie

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah L. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I've struggled to find a video editing app that allows me to do the (pretty minimal) editing I want to make my videos more polished. The ability to edit in the script to change the video & cut out what I don't want saves so much time.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Occasionally the script is not perfectly synched with my video & the "remove filler words" feature will remove sounds before or after the filler word, so I have to do it manually. This has happened on two separate occasions in the 6 months I've been with Descript, so not a huge problem

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to avoid creating video content because the editing process took so long. Now, I can edit an hour long video in less than an hour & im so happy with the results.

 ### 16. Video Editing Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy L. | Business Trainer, Coach and Workshop Facilitator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

You can edit the video by editing the transcription. It's as easy as editing a Word document.
I also like that the studio sound feature improves the video's sound quality.
Having the flexibility to easily change the orientation for different social media channels is beneficial

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

I often have to close all other browser windows to provide the power it needs to work efficiently

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My business conducts interviews of individuals in recorded Zoom one-hour or two-hour sessions. I ask questions about their life experiences. It's a beautiful legacy for their family and will continue to be for generations to come. I then upload the recording to Descript and can edit the interview myself. I like having control over that rather than relying on a video editor. It saves me time and money.

 ### 17. Makes editing video without a editing background SOOO much easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Max B. | Brand Activation Manager and Licensing - North America, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Its got to be its timeline & text editor. I tried using Premier Pro and some of the high end products (even Final Cut) and it was way too much for what I was looking for.

With Descript I can just edit straight from the transcription so I can get rid of the exact parts I don't want.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

I have a pretty powerful MacBook air but I still feel like it gets slower or caught when I am trying to edit titles, graphics and media in my videos.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to quickly edit videos without much background. I am also able to use their remove silnces and un-needed words super quick with their AI which would normally have taken FOREVER. Their new eye contact feature is pretty sweet too.

 ### 18. Integral part of my workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Direct of Programming / Executive Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I love that I dont get lost in making the cut perfect. I get the story part figured out in Descript and then output to ProTools. I use it every single day. And the integrated workflow — Descript then Protools — has saved me thousands and thousands of hours and pleny of gray hairs.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

It takes a bit to get used to new features. And I never feel like I totally know everything it can do. I work mostly in audio and have been intimidated by video features.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to focus on the minutiae in ProTools. With Descript, I can focus on the story and flow and not every single cut. Also, I am a horroble typist, so transcribing the audio would be near impossible at my pace.

 ### 19. Intuitive and easy for beginners, yet powerful for professionals.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin S. | Product Manger, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I love being able to edit the video and audio via the script. I am not a professional, nor do I want to be, but it is simple to make edits that make me look better than I am. Even so, it is powerful and a professional could really make their work shine.

I also really like that I can make corrections with my AI voice instead of having to re-record everything. I have been a user for 3 almost 4 years and have seen it improve steadily over the years.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

I primarily use it for videos, but some of the options default to Audio-only settings. I learn to work around them though.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it very simple for me to make technical walkthrough videos for software users.

 ### 20. Incredibly easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy B. | Senior Product Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Great free trial offer
The interface is extremely user-friendly
AI technology to make audio conversations so natural is amazing (sounds natural, no background noise, natural flow)
Awesome support chatbot

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

No downsides here. Everything was great!

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ability to upload an audio file and then record your own audio file in the platform to have a natural conversation

 ### 21. Time Is Of The Essence

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lynn and Janet B. | Enrolled Agent, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I have used the transcription feature extensively in the last quarter of 2024.
Descript is quick and accurate.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

In the past, 2023 and 2022, I would find it easier to do an initial edit in another software. Now, I plan to experiment with Descript as the First and Last step in video production. A lot of functionality has been added over this time.
I watch tutorials and EVERYTHING is getting easier to use and be creative.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it lately for transcribing video tutorials. I want text to read and study, which is a better way for me to learn and especially edit my work. So, in my case I have the video (usually at 2X speed) and Descript does a accurate and quick transcription.

 ### 22. Descript keeps getting better and better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott W. | Founder and Director of Production, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

What started as just a simple transcription tool for audio and video (and it can still do just this if that is all that you need!) has turned into a powerful app that can do so much! I love the ability to quickly cut down a recording or interview, whether it is just a video of myself or one person, or multiple people. The Descript team is super responsive and open to feedback/suggestions. I feel good spending the dollars each year that I do because it continues to get better and better.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

I wish that the export quality was higher than the existing options.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript is great for taking a ton of video or audio and making it easier to work with as text.

 ### 23. Some of the best software I've ever used/does the key things super well

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared G. | Sales Development Representative, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I use/try a LOT of software, and this is amongst one of the most useful tools I've ever encountered.

Tl;dr "Edit recorded audio/video like a Word/Google Doc."

I relied on this software a ton as I was experimenting with launching various audio podcasts; truly a game-changer in the intuitive nature of making audio sound flawless (e.g. AI detecting and removing filler words and pauses).

It does a great job for video, but obviously video has it's own challenges -- e.g. adding in b-roll, transitions, etc. With more features does come an additional learning curve. So that's on me.

I find video editing overall to be a challenging/overwhelming task to have considered before, but Descript is still the most elegant solution I've seen that does the basics super well.

I was previously a customer of SquadCast, which Descript acquired and has since integrated into its product to allow you to now record high-quality audio/video podcasts from right within Descript. This is a wonderful addition to its feature set so you don't need an external tool as well (e.g. Riverside.fm).

Collaboration/sharing drafts/working with the file exports etc. is efficient with "publishing to the web" feature.

Overall 10/10 software that has made it easy for a audio/video editing novice to at least put content out into the world

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Honestly nothing -- I just need to learn to use it better

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-Makes it extremely easy to edit audio
-Makes it easy to edit video
-Transcriptions/captions
-Repurposing short-form video to social

 ### 24. A Powerful All-in-One Tool, But Lacks In-App Guidance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Descript?**

There are a lot of options available in Descript so you don't have to use multiple platforms for transcripts, video graphics and sound.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

I wish there was a better way to get help on how to do things. I had to google a lot to figure out how to edit my videos a certain way since there wasn't an easy way to find how-to's through Descript itself.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a one stop shop for video editing

 ### 25. Descript makes video editing FUN!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paulette K. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

It's so simple to get started, and just keeps getting better. I used to struggle to edit videos and because of this, stopped making videos for my business. Now, I create more videos than ever because it's so easy with Descript!

Customer service is excellent and quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Even though it's easy to use, there is definitely a learning curve. To make the most of Descript, you really need to take some time to learn the terms and features.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love editing using the transcript. It's so much easier and faster than traditional video editing.
I also love being able to highlight text in the trascript, and then automatically creating a reel with the highlighted sections - amazing!

 ### 26. Love Descript but at times it feels like it has a mind of its own.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessie K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

My favorite part is when I task the Underlord to create clips from my original video. I often find myself using the extracted scripts to pull content for social media. All in all, Decript is a time saver.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

My desktop uses Linux with Firefox. While I'm able to use Descript in a Chrome browser, I find that it is very slow and times out more than I would like it to. There's a lot of waiting when loading. Ironically, when I use my Chromebook I have fewer issues.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are times when I need to write promotional material so I will upload my clients videos, pulling the transcripts and running them through AI to create concise messaging.

 ### 27. Descript saves me hours of video-editing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Björn I. | Product Marketing manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

The templates make it really easy to quickly get a good looking video done.

The AI features really help save time and the output always looks good.

I've learned tons thanks to descript. Kudos to their content people who are always coming with great webinar, courses and product announcements. What a team!

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

It can probably be solved some way, but I find it cumbersome to always add manually the branding elements (logo outro for example). I have to upload it into every project (it often deletes when it's templated for some reason).

It would be great to "apply standard video branding" to save even more time.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting video content fast and cohesive with our branding.

 ### 28. Easier Than You'd Expect

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Holly S. | Marketing Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

My favorite part about it is the script editing feature. I edit my boss' youtube videos, the ability to just cut sentences without having to find it with a playhead is life-changing.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

The web functionality. I would prefer it be an installed computer program. When the web blinks, my editing blinks, it's frustrating during high traffic hours when I'm working.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript is turning what could be a 4 hour weekly project into it being done in 2 hours because of the script editing feature. I was having issues with needing multiple outputs from one media source, and with the duplicate project feature I was able to cut time uploading and downloading over and over again!

 ### 29. Game Changer!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Toby B. | Podcaster, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Totally changed my podcast's entire workflow, sound quality, and production schedule for the better. The editing is fairly simple and helps me power through tasks that used to take hours in minutes. The Studio Sound feature is fantastic and makes up for my current lack of a true production studio.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Sometime the studio sound cuts out important aspects of the recording like laughter or the "S" sound at the end of words, but the good news is you can also use the AI voice generator to fix some of those issues.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before I had to edit in Reaper and the process was slow and clunky. Now it's almost like editing a Word document.

 ### 30. A Game-Changer for Audio Editing, but Room for Improvement with Video Synchronization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Descript’s Studio Sound feature was a standout. It polished the audio to the point where everyone sounded like they had recorded with high-end microphones—consistent volume, crisp, clear quality.

I also appreciated the repurpose and publish tools, which allowed me to quickly create clips and draft social posts and blog content. This is a huge time-saver for webinar follow-up and marketing efforts.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

We recently used Descript to edit a prerecorded webinar. The recording was created on another platform but due to one of our speakers having audio interference issues, we turned to Descript to clean up the recording before our event.

I used the AI Regenerate feature to fix sections of audio damaged by interference. While the tool did a decent job patching the audio, it struggled with one of our speakers, who had an Eastern European accent. The regenerated audio didn’t accurately capture his accent (despite uploading his voice sample), which felt unnatural. Additionally, syncing the patched audio with the video proved difficult—the pacing didn’t align, leading to a noticeable disconnect between the audio and video.

While I like the features to remove filler words and shorten word gaps, they sometimes made the audio and video feel choppy. A smoothing tool for transitions would make edits less obvious and improve the overall flow.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript helps us address several challenges in preparing webinar recordings for a professional, polished final product:
Audio Quality Issues
Content Editing
Repurposing Webinar Content

The benefits include saving time, elevating our brand's professionalism, and maximizing the impact of our content by leveraging it for various purposes.

 ### 31. My favorite easy video editing tool for podcasts and YouTube

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I love the ability to edit like a Word doc. This was a gamechanger having been in iMovie for years. It's also easy to apply captions and generate clips for Reels and YouTube Shorts. The Overlord AI tool is a great way to get YouTube descriptions or podcast show notes automatically. It's a great tool for all kinds of video recording and editing without a steep learning curve. Also easy to record straight into Descript with my webcam and Shure mic.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Sometimes applying transitions like wipe or crossfade doesn't work as expected but it may be due to not having enough margin in the footage (a hint/help tip pop-up would be great to help a user trying to do this a few times). I also wish that any caption style or text font/size I've used previously in a Project would be the default in future scenes if I add captions or text later. Wish I could save my custom captions in the Captions options rather than only to Scenes/templates because these often add a solid black background I can't remove. Overall not major complaints though but hope this feedback helps! I'm a fan of Descript.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy way to edit podcast and YouTube videos.

 ### 32. Fantastic tool for editing video.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Editing through a transcript is just such an intuitive way to edit the video, while still giving me the option to look at the actual timeline of the video. I use it once a week, on average.

It was pretty easy to get started an implement, and there are good help articles to figure out where to go.

Plenty of features to edit podcasts and other videos. Allows me to edit podcast audio and video without a separate audio editing tool. It works really well with the Squadcast integration, and allows me to export transcripts, videos, and podcast episodes to wherever they need to go. AI tools are great as well.

Both a desktop and web based version of it. Very quick.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

It's potentially lacking in advanced features you may find in other softwares, but I haven't found anything I've been missing for my uses of it.

Certain parts of it work differently than you might see in other video tools, so there might be a learning curve to learn their terminology for everything.

The overdub or replacement features of the tool have been hit or miss.

It doesn't allow me to copy and paste multiple layers of content in the video at once - so far it's one by one.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to edit my podcast audio and video in a really seamless way, as well as social media snippets. Saves me a lot of time and allows me to use less tools to get the job done. Through Squadcast, gives me a great platform to record interview podcast episodes.

 ### 33. Descript Levels the Playing Field for New Video Creators

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

As someone new to making and editing videos, I was intimidated by the thought of learning complex editing software. That’s why I was so excited to find Descript—it truly levels the playing field for beginners.

What sets Descript apart is how straightforward it is to use. The transcription-based editing feature makes working on longer videos feel as easy as editing a document. I can quickly cut out mistakes, rearrange content, or tighten up my video without needing advanced technical skills.

Even features like adding captions or cleaning up audio are beginner-friendly and make my videos look polished and professional. Instead of getting bogged down in the details, I can focus on creating content and sharing my message.

Descript has made video editing accessible, empowering me to create videos I’m proud of—even as a newbie. It’s a must-have tool for anyone starting their video creation journey.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

not sure yet - so far it's all good and I haven't found anything to dislike

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

time and learning curve for editing videos

 ### 34. Great Software for Fast Editing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Descript makes it easy to create a theme for social media content and be able to add that theme across a multitude of videos. Compared to the more pro video editing software, it is very user-friendly, even for those with no experience in video editing.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

While it is easy to use, it is very slow and uses lots of processing power. I find myself closing other programs for them to work properly. It also seems to be designed for automatic distribution to social channels, which in my case is not applicable. With that comes very slow export times for short videos that shouldn't take long at all.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was having problems getting correct transcripts to add subtitles to our videos in other more advanced programs. Descript makes it so easy to edit and correct the transcript and train it to auto correct common mistranscribes like proper nouns. Another benefit is the AI voice creation. Before using Descript, when someone would say something wrong or stumble over their words in a recording, we would have to rerecord the whole thing. Now I can create an AI voice that matches the speaker and fix any issues with ease.

 ### 35. Streamlined and Versatile Audio/Video Editing Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Descript's intuitive interface and robust features make audio and video editing a breeze, even for beginners. The transcription tool is highly accurate and allows seamless editing by simply modifying the text. I especially enjoy the overdub feature, which saves me time on re-recording. The collaboration tools also make it easy to work on projects with teammates in real time.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

While Descript is powerful, its reliance on a stable internet connection can be a drawback during travel or in areas with poor connectivity. Additionally, the advanced features can feel overwhelming to new users, but the tutorials and help resources are excellent for getting up to speed.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript has simplified the entire process of editing audio and video files for my projects. The transcription feature helps me quickly generate captions for videos, improving accessibility. Additionally, the ability to edit audio by modifying the transcript saves me significant time and effort compared to traditional editing tools. This has streamlined my workflow and allowed me to focus on creating better content.

 ### 36. Descript is the best text-based video editing experience...BY FAR!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew L. | M, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Descript is the easiest text-based video editing tool. It's just like editing a Word document. If you have a large video with lots of speaking, it helps you find and cut down useful parts easily.

One amazing feature is that you can export your project as an XML file and import it into another video editing software. Descript has all the basic tools you need, but you can also export for more complex projects.

Overall, it's the best text-based video editing experience.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

The only downside of Descript is that it takes some time to learn. Some features are not very easy to use at first, but they work great once you get the hang of them. The hardest part is learning how to use the tools. Navigating the interface and correcting the transcript can be confusing if you're new to it. It's not just point, click, and type; you have to right-click and select correct. However, once you learn how to use everything, it's very powerful and saves a lot of time.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Descript to pull clips from sermons. Many software programs can do this, but they aren't very good and their editing tools are clunky. Descript lets me see the full transcript of a sermon and highlight clips easily.

It also has a feature that can highlight clips for you, but I love its flexibility. You can highlight text, copy, and paste different segments to create effective clips. This method is much easier than trying to timestamp a video or add markers, split, and rearrange clips.

With Descript, you just highlight the text, copy it, and put it in the order you want. This has saved me a lot of time in creating sermon video clips.

 ### 37. Descript is a game-changer for our Agency!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justin G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Descript has revolutionized how we edit podcasts and YouTube videos. It's incredibly easy to use, even for our team members who aren't video editing experts. The learning curve is practically non-existent. We can quickly whip up high-quality content, repurpose it, and get it out there in record time. The time savings alone are worth their weight in gold!

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Honestly, there's not much to dislike. Descript has consistently delivered on its promises, and we're thrilled with the results.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript is a lifesaver when it comes to streamlining our content creation workflow. Before, we were juggling multiple tools and platforms for different tasks. Now, Descript handles almost everything!

Time Savings: Editing is so much faster. Their text-based editing is genius. We can literally edit videos like a Word doc.
Efficiency: No more switching between different programs. Descript handles transcription, editing, and even creating content with AI tools.
Collaboration: It's easier for our team to work together on projects, even remotely.
Repurposing Content: We can quickly take a podcast episode and turn it into a YouTube video, social media clips, blog posts, you name it! This maximizes the value of our content

 ### 38. A bit of a learning curve and then incredibly easy to use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Professional Training & Coaching | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I love editing video through the transcript. It's fast, the AI tools help me make it better quickly, and it takes very little time to implement. I use it every week and have dropped editing time for my course videos from about an hour each to as low as 15 minutes. The readily available library of videos and images are fantastic. I also connected it to zoom so I can edit live session videos in minutes.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

The eye contact isn't quite there yet - not natural enough. It took me a while to learn it and I ended up using someone on YouTube who explained it more simply than your resources did. I think a basic how-to/getting started resource would have been great, but I did make it over the hump and love it.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to spin up a pilot program quickly without a big investment, so that I could prove my concept. To accomplish this, I needed a easy video editing solution that I could use without needing any experience or skills. Descript delivered, and I love the tool.

 ### 39. Makes my job easier and faster!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

My favorite feature is the audio recording. I can input a script, select a voice, and the audio outcome is excellent. Saves a ton of time when creating voiceovers because I don't have to read and record multiple takes! This is a DREAM for my role in creating web based trainings with audio voiceovers. Don't like the AI voice options - you can train your own voice, too!The video editing features are easy to use and work pretty well. While some things could be better for a perfect edit, I find that the ease of using Descript is often worth the time saved. I really like the eye contact feature!

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

The background removal tool on the video editing is sometimes a bit wonky. If you'ved filmed someone with dark hair sitting in a dark chair, sometimes the chair back shows because the background removal tool can't distinguish between the two. Is is better than other free video editing tools? FOR SURE. Is it better than more expensive, more complicated video editing tools? No. But it sure is easier to master and faster!

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The AI voice features are so natural and realistic that I don't need to record my own voice for the audio voiceovers needed in my job. It's fantastic in that regard!

 ### 40. The Podcasting App Ever

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brianna J. | Podcast Producer and Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I love how Descript is a one stop shop for podcasters. You can record and edit your podcast, create a blog, newsletter, show notes and so much more to support each of your episodes. I do not have a background in editing, but I have made it a career and Descript has increased my quality in edits to receive valuable clients.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

I do not like the Studio Sound option. I have to use another app called Auphonic to get the volume exactly how I want it.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It takes me half the time to edit an episode for me and my clients and I create the assets all in one platform.

 ### 41. Using Descript for B2B Tech Videos

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jen M. | Senior Video Editor & Producer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I like the text to speech AI voice over. It's super easy to use and making changes on the fly to scripts is amazing vs hiring a VO artist. It's also great to record screen demos inside the environment.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

I dislike some of the editing features. Freezing frames and zooming in and out is a bit of a pain compared to traditional video editor programs like Premiere Pro.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript is solving the problem of having to use multiple programs to create a product demo style video. I can from start to finish, edit in Descript from uploading my script to create an AI voiceover to editing right in Descript.

 ### 42. Great AI Filler Removal, But Speaker Detection Needs Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Descript?**

The AI features to remove filler words are fantastic.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Speaker detection could be improved for longer form content.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript takes the time of my current transcription service and cuts it in half.

 ### 43. Personal experience with Descript

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** RandomJAZ Z. | Sub-agency (at a different company now, I haven't used Descript here currently), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Very simple, effective and does its job.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Subtitles may not match up with audio when audio is implemented which may be frustrating to check whether correct or not.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

properly creating a script from audio to be followed over.

 ### 44. The Efficiency of Descript

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Descript?**

The ability to quickly make edits to a script without altering the recording was beneficial to me. I also appreciate the option to modify the text and audio simultaneously. It allows for the detailed tweaks editors need, especially for podcasts.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

There are so many options and capabilities Descript offers that it can be difficult to navigate all your options.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The accuracy needed for transcriptions can be time-consuming. Descript makes translating audio into text super quick.

 ### 45. Descript makes my life easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis P. | Student Pastor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I love how descriptive can help me quickly edit videos based on the transcription. All the other things that are included in my subscription have been icing on the cake the ability to quickly copy and paste the transcript and take a clip out of a video has been a game changer.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

One thing I wish the script had that it doesn't have is ability to add transitions and effects in video.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped me be able to quickly edit short clips from longform video as well as take out dead space or multiple takes in a video so that the final product looks nicer

 ### 46. Started Strong and Devolved

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mackenzie W. | Sales Director - Social & Creator Marketing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Initially, I most liked that I could remove filler words as my co-host and I were getting used to speaking less in "umms" and "likes." It allowed us to transcribe the entire episode by speaker and edit. That basic function is not really effective anymore, however.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

How significantly it has gone downhill in about a year of use. EVBRY single time I log in to use it, there is "a new version of descript" and it consistently gets less effective, harder to navigate, and slower. The primary need I had for this tool was transcription and removing filler words but it's not even properly transcribing those words anymore, nor identifying the correct speakers. Downloads take hours (on 2GB hardwired fiber so not the internet) when they should take minutes. Publishing functions are not granular enough and lack real control. They also outright lied about their new pricing (which is published on their site) when I tried to cancel, effectively trying to scare me into staying. This had the opposite impact.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, it was helping us transcribe our podcast, remove filler words, and edit video. Unfortunately, the functionality is so much worse now we've had to move away from it.

**Official Response from Christiana Cromer:**

> Hey there Mackenzie, first off, I'm sorry to hear you had a negative experience with Descript over this past year! We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us, and it sounds like multiple factors led to your experience, from the frequency of updates, app slowness, and pricing changes.

You're totally right, our team is regularly shipping updates as we try to improve Descript, and I apologize for the thrash that caused you! You can choose to ignore that prompt to restart if you're in the middle of a project, but I get how that can be annoying. As for the bugginess, our support team would be happy to look into any specific issues with features you faced. If you'd like to report those, you can reach out to support here: https://help.descript.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. On the pricing front, it was never our intention to scare anyone with those changes! If you can share what you found specifically confusing about those updates, please do let us know so we can investigate it ASAP and make any needed clarity changes.

We appreciate that you used Descript for your podcast, and I know we don't always get everything right -- your feedback helps us improve, so thanks again for sharing with us. If it's not too late, we'd love to work with you to make it right. Otherwise, best of luck with your podcast!

 ### 47. Insanely effective, and impressed with updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh F. | Video editor and producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

I love that they are constantly improving, I have been working with the software for a few years now, and a couple of years ago I would constantly be frustrated with it, but now being able to easily replace files, copy effects, and everything In between, it really is seamlessly fit into my workflow

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

I get frustrated at times with the massive amounts of cache files it stores on my local drive.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows a non video editor to take multiple interviews and lay out a beautiful story with different soundbites. It's also a great spot to add captions to social videos.

 ### 48. Love the transcription; voiceovers not good

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meg B. | Co-Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Descript?**

The way Descript automatically transcribes video and audio – including punctuation – is really amazing and saves me so much time. It saves me so much time, especially in editing social media clips and sound recordings for digital curricula that I produce.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

When I first started using Descript, its ability to improve sound quality with Studio Sound, and to regenerate words affected by audio issues, was impressive. After months of "updates," I've found these features have gotten worse.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript helps me create and edit audio and video content easily, and even improve audio or video quality from original recordings.

 ### 49. Easy editing and a fantastic time saver!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Descript?**

Easiest editor I have used. Saves hours of time. I haven't even scratched the surface on all the features available. It's easy to use with audio and video files. I've tried others but I always end up back at Descript. I use it for all my editing.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

Sometimes it cuts words a little short. When that happens I have to find a workaround.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript saves me a lot of time in the creation process and keeps me from having to hire someone to edit. I can do it myself in about 1/3 the time it used to take before Descript.

 ### 50. Literally, my go-to tool for all things video and audio production!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janice R. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Descript?**

ALL my content creation somehow involves Descript!!! I love that is is simple to use, the company is committed to continual growth and innovation, and I can easily share my projects with my team uusing Descript.

**What do you dislike about Descript?**

What's least helpful is underlord's copywriting ability when compared to other models in the market.

**What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Descript makes it VERY easy for me to edit my work without having to wait on a production company or expert to get things done for me. And it is easy for me to delegate work to a team member who isn't an expert at post-production without sacrificing quality.
