Since we’re a transmission shop, we use the canned jobs and sell the transmission as a complete unit. For inventory purposes, it would be helpful to track the cost and the specific parts we used to build it, without generating a huge parts list for the customer. I love how BILL AP/AR enables me to easily process and receive electronic payments. It saves a lot of time since I don't have to print and mail checks or go to the bank to deposit checks. I also find that it speeds up our Accounts Receivable process significantly when clients pay electronically, which helps with cash flow. The interface continues to be a huge challenge for me. I have it synced with QuickBooks Online but overall do not find the user experience easy or enjoyable. I think because of this I have not dug deeper into the features or how else I could be using it. I do not feel that it's really clear what it's doing or how it's set up. I would want a simpler interface, better instructions and guidance as I use it. The initial setup was not very easy, it took me a while to figure out. What do you like best about Pricefx?

My primary complaint is that the new Pricefx format is cumbersome in many ways. With the original format that we used for the first several years beginning in 2019, all the pertinent information on a product was visible at a glance. The format now has multiple tabs for within the Items tab separating out the relevant details, which requires Users to apply more "clicks" to view the same details. This makes reviewing each product price a little more time consuming, which does add up when a quote contains many items (some of ours contain hundreds of items). This is also the case on the Header. In order to see the User that created the quote, you need to click on a separate tab. It may sound petty, but I don't understand why Pricefx felt the need to change the format like this. What do you dislike about Pricefx?

We see a lot of "one-off" issues that can't be easily explained, even by our internal Pricefx support person. For example, one quote recently pulled an approver into the Workflow that left the company 3 years ago and whose account had been deactivated since then. Sometimes quotes cannot be Submitted, and there is no error message. One User (Approver) has complained that the Field Names change on random quotes that make no sense at all. E.g., instead of Requested Price it might read "Umbrella" or something that clearly makes no sense. We typically need to ignore these one-offs as we can't afford to spend valuable time troubleshooting issues that may not surface again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have never had a "Pay Now" button for our customers and it has ALWAYS been asked for. It is great to have that readily available. This helps with the one time customers that are typically harder to track down for payment. When the invoice is sent from Bill360 it shows when the customer opened the email so there is never a "I didnt receive the invoice" excuse. Our pricing is usage-based and fairly involved, but Sequence handles it without us having to develop a bunch of workarounds. Building quotes using the CPQ module is intuitive, e-signature is built-in, and once a deal gets signed the billing schedules and invoices follow on naturally. What do you dislike about Checkbook?

They were fine for a number of years but things dramatically changed this year. With one day notice they changed their processing timelines from 1 day to 3 days. They then had a series of errors that extended the 3 day fund hold to 6 days. They have done a terrible job of communicating, have been combative, and have turned into an awful partner. They are also, with no notice, instituting burdensome rules that I have not seen from other processors and offering no justification for those rules. My guess is that they had a major fraud incident. What do you like best about Mercury?

Mercury provides a clean and modern interface for managing U.S. startup finances. The onboarding process is straightforward, and the product integrates well with many tools that early-stage companies use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mercury?

Mercury may not be a good fit for founders who do any meaningful work internationally. My account was closed despite the company being a legitimate U.S. LLC with an EIN and a U.S. mailing address. The only unusual factor appeared to be that part of my work involves one international business address.

The closure happened quickly and without any opportunity to resolve the issue. For founders building global companies, that kind of uncertainty without opportunity for manual review makes financial planning extremely difficult.

Many startups today operate with distributed teams or founders who spend time abroad. Based on my experience, founders with any international operations should review Mercury’s policies carefully before relying on it as their primary banking platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
