Great for tracking who is working on what and keeping track of customers and their info. Easy to create and share estimates

Inventory tracking isn't 100% but if you know the workarounds it is ok. Tracking returns can be difficult at times but that is probably on me

**What problems is Tekmetric solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are responsive with issues and get errors fixed quickly. And I love that they keep coming up with new features

Being able to access work from where ever I am. In an airport when my techs have questions, or at my desk.

The team at Tekmetric is open to ideas for changing and making the system run smoother.

There are so many things right About it that you can just pick one the continues updates and involvement of the software. Keep getting better and better and they always continue to make it better.

Everything pretty much I like, so I don't have no dislikes. Nothing is perfect.

Constant updates and features. The amount of third party integration also means you can do almost anything you want.

The only downside I have experienced is as with any cloud based app, there will be some amount of downtime. It is exceptionally low, but near crippling to have your shop's management program to be inaccessible.

I had no experience at all in the automotive industry and was able to navigate and learn Tekmetric very easily.  If I can do, anyone can!

We like Tekmetric because it offers a very modern interface, it does integrate with all major parts suppliers and they continue to update it to include usefull features

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

First the fact that customer service is very promptly at your finger tips if you need any assistance with anything pretaining to the program. Also this program covers all aspects of what a functioning shop needs to bill, keep records of customers, service or vendors. This keeps everything in your shop organized and you have access to any functionality of your business at the drop of a dime!

Honestly everytime i think ive found something that isnt good for our shop, i call support and they're able to give me the information and walk me through anything and everything i need to utilize the tools that tekmetric offers so i have yet to come to the conclusion, man i wish tekmetric did this.....

Inventory Control. Billing. Assignments. Where and when certain jobs are going on and how far along they are. History of customers, jobs, vehicle and vendors. Pricing changes within the industry and what we've paid for certain services and products in the past

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

After trying out several other shop management systems my shop settled on Tekmetrics due to their ease of use and their intergration platform from bookkeeping, card procesing, to social CRM connectivity. They don't require signed contracts that lock you in annually and have a great Q&A help board. If there is somethign missing or have an idea to make things better they urge you to leave feedback and will work on making improvements. All my staff found it easy to learn. Customer support is great! The data transfer from Alldata to Tekmetrics was nearly flawless Customers, Orders, and Inventory that allowed for ease of implementation.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

One thing that seems to be a bit cumbersome is the the inventory menu. This may be a personal feature from the older Alldata Manage Database we had for 20 years. But, if I stock oil filters and proceed to sell them in Alldata the inventory management menu I could select the vender select 'Restock' and then click Print Order and it would generate a report I could hand to our salesman for restock. When that order was printed it generated a digital inventory order in Alldata that once the physical order arrived I could check off each individual part, verify price is the same, then at the bottom click reviece and Alldata would automatically update the inventory. Tekmetric it does not, it may be old school preference for us. Tekmetric does mix digital/physical daily reports and operations but like all shop management systems it's mainly directed to paperless cloud base operations. 

Also, unless you have a tablet with a minimum of 10" screen it's difficult to access my end of day reporting from my phone as the side menus and format is large.

I have no immediate problems at this time. I have ideas and suggestions that have been created in their 'Recommendations' area of their site.

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

My favorite thing about Tekmetric is how easy it makes it to write estimates and communicate them with customers. It used to take me at least 3 times as long to write an estimate, and then I'd have to call the customer, and walk through everything with them on the phone, which took up a ton of time. Now I can get the estimates written quickly, and about 80% of the time I just get authorizations from the customers without having to explain every detail verbally.

I also love how easy it is to edit inventory quantities in case of a miscount or other issue. It is also super easy to search for parts, by using the location/bin #, or other search features.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

The one thing I'm hoping that gets implemented in the future is getting parts ordered from canned jobs. Just because I have a canned job, doesn't mean I keep all of those parts in stock in house. I'd love the option to be able to order the parts just like I do from jobs I write individually each time.

**What problems is Tekmetric solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tekmetric is saving me a ton of time by removing the need to have detailed conversations with every single customer. I'm able to have more time to work on the other parts of my job, like accounts payable/receivable, etc.

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

Tekmetric is made by someone who clearly understands the workflow of a shop. It is SO streamlined. It easily cut my estimation time in half. The integration with PartsTech makes Activant and Nexpart systems look like an embarassment. The integration was easy, the program is VERY intuitive to use, and it has eliminated many choke points in my shops workflow. I recommend it to everyone that asks. I have had zero regrets about switching. The customer support is amazing, opposed to my old system that I had to pay an outside consultant to fix, because their support would break more than they fixed. Plus, Tekmetric is listening to what you want. Gone are the days of 5 year overdue big updates. It feels like I see a weekly feature update. Constantly improving their product and asking what we actaully want. I could not be happier.

I have only noticed a few VERY small things that I dislike. So small I can't even name them, and easily classifiable as personal preference, not failure of function.

My old system was not very intuitive. It was a good program, but hard to teach to new employees, and not very feature rich. Tekmetric is way faster to learn, faster to use, and more efficient in organizing a busy shop.

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

The system is very easy and user friendly for the older technicians and technically appealing to the younger technicians. We love the automation of the system, helps the company go green by using a lot less paper and ink. Customers love the ability to text right into the system and send real time information to the customer. The support up front was exceptional as our contact, Daniel Medrano, came from the automotive repair world and understood the needs and solution. Tech support for the few times I have reached out to them, has always been very knowlegable, professional and courteous. Migrating over from Mitchell was for the most part seemless, you just had to have a good plan in place for any open, lingering tickets.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

The biggest issue we have up front is the limitation on the customer account settings. The system really needs to allow more than one contact person and phone number for our customer accounts including the fleet accounts. This seems like such a simple fix but not a priority to Tekmetric. We treat our customers as family and it irritates them that only one family member can be on the account or fleet accounts have to be set up under one contact.

TekMetric allowed us to reduce the number of applications needed to create repair tickets and manage the work flow, reduce overhead on office supplies, integrate orders and inventory and most importantly reduce stress.

I love this program I have used several quoting/work order programs and this by far the best I have used. It is easy to use. I really like that they are constantly taking user feedback and making updates to the program as well as adding in new features. Customer support is on point and readily availble should have any questions or concerns! I love that it is web based so  I can log in anywhere and see what is going on in my shops. I also love the fact that my techs can log in right off a tablet and are able to see history and prior recomendations.  Program is very simple to use and very easy to train new employees on.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

There is not much that I do not like about this program. Counter sales are one of the things that I do not like. From what I have been told this is a new feature that is coming out so I am excited for this. Estimates is another feature that I would like to see as a new feature. Right now all work orders and estimates creat a work order and I would love to be able to creat a estimate without is creating a work order #. In Mitchell it created estimates that you could convert into a work order if the customer wanted to proceed. I would love to see this feature in tekmetric. All in all there is more to love about this program that there is to dislike. The great thing is that tekmetric is always adding new features so I am hopeful this will be added in the near future.

I like that Tekmetric helps my staff and I save time when constructing an estimate. It also helps us serve our customers better and helps us be more proffessional. It is easy and simple to use and I like that I can use it from home and access it from my phone or Ipad.

Sometimes I have apprentices or two technicians work in the same job, I'd like to be able to assign one job to more than one technician if possible but this feauture is not available yet. I also have a lot of spanish speaking customers, it would be cool to have an option where the system translates what we input into the estimate or inspections section for my customer to be able to understand their estimate better in another language.

Time, it is benefiting us by being more efficient with our time and in return reduce the need to make calls to part suppliers or customers.

After spending my whole working life in automotive repair, I've used several different brands of software and seen companies come and go.
I can say without reservation that Tekmetric is the best I've used by far. Their software is intuitive, easy to learn, easy to use, and as a company they are continually updating and adding features. They listen to us as users and make changes from the "bottom up", that is, they take our suggestions and opinions and work hard to make their product more useful. Their customer support is second to none as well. All we have to do is contact them, and someone will contact back, and quickly. The software was easy to implement, integrates well with our other programs, and is priced very competively.

I do not have a single complaint. They meet my needs well.

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

The most helpful thing about Tekmetric is its ease of use. They have so many features to customize to your needs that you can not be unsatisfied with it. There is very little training needed to get comfortable using this service and the speed of which you can build tickets, integrate parts vendors and accept payments numerous ways. The customer service response is far above anything else my team or I have had to deal with when we do have an issue. We run multiple locations on tekmetric and I can see what is going on in any of them at any given time and get up to date reports at the click of a button.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

I have not found anything unuseful about Teckmetric.

**What problems is Tekmetric solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving having to look up multiple labor guides, ordering parts and adding them onto the ticket with correct part numbers and prices. They are allowing my teams ease of use to build tickets and see all the KPI's right on the screen so they can sell the ticket effeciently and profitably.

There are so many ways in which tekmetric seamlessly integrates the abilities to create ROs, order parts, track time, etc. Its seamless to use.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

There are inconsitencies on the partstech side of things that could stand to be fixed. Stuff like how incorrect parts will show up for a vehicle application becuase it doesnt differentiate between engines/trims sometimes.

Alldata took FOREVER to write up quotes. Tekmetric makes it so much easier to do that

I've been a service technician for 18 years and I've used several shop management systems. Tekmetric takes shop management to a whole new level. There are countless features that help accuracy, workflow and efficiency. It also integrates well with existing services.

I don't think the digital vehicle inspection portion of the system is as good as Autoflow.

It is rather easy to use once you are familiar with the setup, screens, etc. Very easy to customize. Recalling vehicle history is simple when you are in a ticket for that vehicle.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

If you type in the name of a customer wrong (ie: there is a hyphen but you forget the hyphen) no results will show up. Some customers that have been marked as tax exempt will have taxes added to their ticket even though we have checked the box that says tax exempt and the tax exempt number is in the system. The inventory system is terrible. It is never accurate even when it has just been updated to reflect correct counts.

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

It can be accessed from anywhere at any time and it is easy for techs to use every day from their iPads. Our customers like that they can approve/decline jobs themselves. The Customer Support team is always great, even if there isn't anything to be done, everyone is as helpful as possible.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

Compared to previous systems, the reporting within Tekmetric is severely lacking. Tekmetric would be much easier to use if there more customization options that we could tailor to our shop instead of working around generic setups (i.e. customer tags, and marketing sources). The DVI section of the system is technologically behind other systems and behind the way we use it. We have to PAY for a completely separate system to integrate just to provide our customers with a quality-level DVI. Lastly, Customer Accounts should be just that, an account. I should be able to "credit" a customer account or leave detailed notes that are better transposed to an RO. Customer accounts are merely just profiles currently.

**What problems is Tekmetric solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tekmetrics makes it easier to go over estimates with customers and allows them to feel empowered by approving/declining jobs themselves. This cuts down time on the front and allows us to answer incoming calls for new appointments.

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

It is very intuitive and simple to use. It took a few weeks in learn the system. This our main system we use for every aspect of our company.  I am able to figure out any discrempencies easily without too much effort. I am able to keep my customers up to date with digital inspections and in-system texting. If there ever were to be an issue they are resolved quickly by either chating or calling support.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

The only downside is there is not an official app that streamlines use on a phone or tablet. Again the system is great but would be a bonus.

**What problems is Tekmetric solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is unique as we can use it for technician management, customer updates, quoting, billing, inventory, and digital inspections. Usually you will need to integrate multiple systems to do this but Tekmetric is all in one. The other aspect is I can access it anywhere and it is not location based, meaning I can access while away from the shop for conferences or other occassions.

It's so easy to use.  It does noo require a lot of extensive training - the support staff is literally a click away if you find that you do need any assistance. The set up was quick and painless. The list of features just keeps expanding for the better. The backend integration with other essential software is superb.

The parts management system could use some fine tuning.

Repair orders are easier to start, estiamtes are quicker, integrated parts ordering has been a HUGE help in cuttign down time spent on the phone with parts stores - overall - it's just a great software that was well thought out and implemented.

1.  Parts integration.  We can access most vendors and the ones we cannot are problems on the vendor side.
2.  View / workflow.  We have options on how to make it look.  They have upgraded our ability to parse catogories in 2023 which has made it even better.
3.  When we have a need, they are listening.  We have several avenues of feedback and requests.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

Reporting detail, especially with employee detail. But they are working on it.

We continue to increase our use of the system, especially with the workflow and tracking, by technicians.

They are constantly adding and changing due to customer feed back. No system is ideal for everyone but they go out of their way to meet needs. It is definetly easier to use than some others I have used. Integrations seem to be easy enough for what we use. Customer support has always been a good experience.

I will be glad to see when get to a point that has a parts return print out for the vender and more control over configuaration of the tech board.

The ease of use! the navigation and easy to read reports screen is the best I have seen in a POS in over 33 years in the industry.

The least thing is the posting of invoices. One extra step too many. Once the invoice has been paid it should automatically post without having to do too many steps to post the invoice.

The speed and ease of use. The great thing it is cloud based and you do not have to have a separate server to pay for and only works in one store. With Tekmetric all you need is internet and a browser.

It has been the most efficient ticket-building software I have come across; it is easy to manage many processes within it, and makes customer estimates, updates, and invoicing very seamless.

I can't say there is anything that I am looking for them to change, it is easy to get a grasp of when you first begin, and although it is a comprehensive tool, it's very intuitive.

Tek_metric is the tool we use all day everyday, and we are a high volume shop so the speed at which we can build estimates, source parts, track completion times, is the best we have come across.

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

I like the ease of building estimates on Repair Orders. 
I like the integrations with Partstech and NextPart.
I also like the digital inspections. The pictures are gold.
I like the information on the appointment screen that prepares you for incoming customers. 
I like the ease of creating canned jobs.
The integration was pretty easy. The only hiccup we had was that we weren't entering area codes in the customer phone numbers in our old system, so it was hard to bring up existing customers for awhile.
It was easy to implement and the technicians and staff were able to pick up on the system pretty quickly.
Customer support has been attentive and nice, but they moslty direct me to put my concerns in the Feature Request Board becasue they don't have that feature yet.
We use Tekmetric frequently, all day, every day.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

A downside of using Tekmetric is the time clock and that you cannot see what each technician is currently clocked on to, or what they are doing when they aren't clocked onto a jon.
The lack of reports.
It's difficult to find customers that have 2 names on their account.
You cannot build an estimate wihtout creating a Repair Order and using the next RO# in the sequence for a vehicle that isn't in the shop.
You cannot track sublets efficiently - (you cannot put the sublet's labor, and bill out the sublet parts and put them on the same purchase order).
You cannot assign more that 1 Technician to a job.
You cannot track no show appointments easily.
You cannot return cores from core charges on inventoried parts.
You cannot see what your approved estimate total is, it only notifies you if you are over the estimate, but not by how much you are under. So you have to dig through the summary section to find it.
You cannot see in inventory, which ROs those inventoried parts have been used on.
You cannot un-receive parts if you mistakenly mark one received.
There is no warning if a technician clocks onto multiple jobs at once.
If you are clocked onto a job, and you take a break or clock out for the day, your time keeps running on the job if you don't remember to pause it.
You cannot see the time stamps of time/date when a technician was clocked onto a job.
You cannot change the quantity of parts by whole numbers, it changes by the tenths of a decimal and isn't practical. 
I don't like that you cannot create a canned job off a closed RO.
You cannot print sales reports with totals.
You cannot deactivate/reactivate an employee, you can only delete them entirely. 
You cannot see past employees.
You cannot adjust credit amounts to match the credit.
When you are in the refun pending tab, and you check the box to mark a refund complete, it does not pop up to give you an option to enter the credit memo invoice number. It's extra steps/clicks to have to click on the return memo, enter the return order number, and then mark the return as complete.
Customer support has been attentive and nice, but they moslty direct me to put my concerns in the Feature Request Board becasue they don't have that feature yet.

Tekmetric helps us solve looking at different websites and calling multiple vendors to get parts price and availiblity. 
It helps us show the customer what the vehicle needs and why.

Upsides of using Tekmetric is the organization. 
The labor matrix helps keep gross profit per hour, and other numbers in line with your shops goals, and shop flow. 
Software is super user friendly, and easy to create jobs, estimates, and sell orders.

When we first got it, it was a little slow, but since I have had no issues to report in terms of access, and speed.

**What do you like best about Tekmetric?**

When we switched from using RO Writer to Tekmetric, it was like going from Atari to Playstation 5. It's SO thoughtfully well designed and they LISTEN to their users and make changes to make their lives easier. The product has gone through so many updates in a few years I've been using them. The updates are always well thought out. Anytime I've ever needed personal help using the product, their support team is very responsive and helpful. I can't recommend Tekmetric any higher.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

Being web based can be tricky sometimes. It's a little cumbersome on a phone (don't use it much on a tablet). I know there's a lot of demand for an app but I can understand why that might be more challenging to manage an iOS and Android app. Because the product is entirely web based, if their servers ever go down, I'm completely cut off but any time that has happened, Tekmetric acts quickly the minimize downtime.

It puts everything together in one space for service writers and technicians - techs can do their vehicle inspections and writers can build jobs and source parts easily all within the same area.

The best part of Tekmetric is its simple, straightforward interface and short learning curve.  The accessibility of their faculty and their devotion to ensuring your business understands how their system works.

**What do you dislike about Tekmetric?**

After spending years doing all of our RO sheets longhand and using an antiquated invoicing software, we don't have much to compare Tekmetric.  Any shortcomings that can be mentioned are nothing compared to handwriting shop sheets.  That said, the biggest issue for us is Tekmetric's limited integration from its appointment calendar to RO.  The last update to the appointment calendar was an improvement but is still not developed enough for us not to need our scheduling book.

Our latest problem that Tekmetric has solved was the lack of RO status.  Since the ability to customize them has been added, our shop communication has improved dramatically.  Our only complaint with it now is limiting the number of statuses.

I love how quick and easy it is to find the parts for the vehicles our shop is working on. Everything it Tekmetric keeps track for me makes it easier for me to do my job. From customers, inventory, vendors, parts, scheduling, etc, Tekmetric saves me many man hours. Highly recommend!

The one thing I would like to see them add would be a customer referral. We like to give our customers a credit when they send us new customers and I would love for there to be an easier way to keep track of that.

Keeping track of the day to day business dealings benefits me so I don't lose track of a customer. We love to keep our customers up to date and informed and Tekmetric helps me do just that.

Tekmetric just makes sense. It was built with common sense. Looking to start a repair order, easy...Multiple places to start. The learning curve is low. This supports the industry challenge of finding new folks outside our industry. Tekmetric is constantly releasing new updates. It's the best system on the market and it will continue to be the leader in the future because of the company culture.

I have noticed that 1000s and 1000s of Tekmetric users love that we have constant updates...this has everyone wanting faster updates. The dev team is building faster than any company in the industry. Tekmetric will get it built, give it time.

Making the business run better from cradle to grave. It's a complete system that connects the client to the service writer and then to the Tech. Everyone knows what stage the car is in.
