What do you like best about Tekmetric?

What I like best about Tekmetric is the Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) workflow, which allows us to bridge the communication gap with customers by providing transparent, visual proof of complex diagnostics like TDI coolant restrictions. Having implemented it before, I value its cloud-based agility and the way its real-time shop management board eliminates the 'bottleneck' at the service desk, allowing technicians to focus on precision repairs while the system handles parts tracking and labor margins seamlessly. What do you dislike about Tekmetric?

While Tekmetric excels in workflow, its closed API ecosystem and high barrier to entry for custom integrations make it difficult for tech-forward users to implement advanced AI solutions or custom automation without significant overhead. For those of us looking to integrate LLMs for diagnostic assistance or automated customer follow-ups, the limited 'sandbox' environment and restrictive data access prevent us from fully leveraging our shop’s data to its highest potential. What do you like best about Tekmetric?

The system is very easy to use. I love how detail and all the information it will gather. Customer Support is really great. I love working with their team. Also, Love that you can go to chat and get answers also and it is in a very timely matter. They are working daily on adding more options everyday. Love this software more and more each day. What do you dislike about Tekmetric?

The least is the accounting side reporting but I work around that. It show who went into the RO# and when but doesn't always show what they did. What do you like best about Tekmetric?

I find Tekmetric to be a very useful all-in-one platform for managing my auto repair shops. What stands out to me the most is how open source it is and the number of integrations it has built in, which is more than any other shop management system I've used. I can connect it with programs like my Repair Pal, CARFAX loyalty shop program, and moto visuals for dvis. These integrations make Tekmetric incredibly valuable for me. What do you dislike about Tekmetric?

The DVIs should definitely be improved. I've had multiple clients say that they didn't know where to click to see photos or the DVIs. It should be easy for our clients to immediately open the text message with the estimate and see the photos right there next to the written estimate. The data migration process wasn't the most perfect. They were able to transfer most of my data from Shopmonkey, except for the main thing being mileage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tekmetric?

I really appreciate how user-friendly this software is. As a service advisor, it helps me make the most of both customer and vehicle information. I can add detailed notes about the customer and the car, including both internal and external comments. The inspection layout is also very intuitive for customers, making it easy for me to attach videos and pictures. I also like how I can organize my tickets by label or RO number, which is highly customizable. Another feature I value is the ability to view the job board for technicians, which lets me plan more effectively and assign vehicles to technicians who could use additional hours. What do you dislike about Tekmetric?

What do you like best about Tekmetric?

I use Tekmetric on daily basis. Tekmetric has a very user-friendly interface, with color coded labels to easily check up on work, parts and job status. I like how easy customer information is visible without having to navigate through different tabs to give the customer a call and it even has a built in texting system that enables an alternative communication method to customer who chose to not receive calls. In Tekmetric you can add canned jobs to make ticket writing faster and it even comes with some pre-built smart jobs which will even put in the necessary parts for the job. What do you dislike about Tekmetric?

My only complain about Tekmetric is that while looking up parts it does not give you a way to see some of the vehicle-specific specs whether is a FWD or AWD, 4, 6 or 8 Cyl. or transmission type so you have to close the parts screen and go back to the vehicle tab to check all that info. What do you dislike about Tekmetric?

From my perspective, one challenge with Tekmetric is the requirement to use a VPN, especially since I’m based in the Philippines. It can sometimes affect speed and accessibility. However, I do understand that the VPN is necessary for security, data protection, and system compliance — particularly when accessing U.S.-based shop data — so I recognize the purpose behind it. What do you like best about Tekmetric?

I love that Tekmetric allows for office staff and technicians can see the same work order without showing too much information. Allowing them to add notes and love that we now have pop ups for all updates as they are complete. Very neat feature. They are always updating and adding new helpful features. We are a lot more efficient by being more streamlined. We used to have drawings of coaches and the papers would get lost or damaged. Tried binders and the same thing happened with those too. What do you dislike about Tekmetric?

The least helpful thing I have found so far are 2 different features.

1) Your customer must be checked as Eligible for AR in order to push over... I'm not entirely sure why they wouldnt be but all of ours are I feel it should be reversed it should auto be checked and uncheck it if they are not. There are more customers that are going to pay than not. When you have several people in the office and not following after yourself its hard to get everyone on board. With checking this one box, that puts a dead holt on transferring transactions over to AR.

2) Applying 1 check to multiple transactions. I hate that when a customer wants a paid transaction I can enter it to show its paid, but then I have to void it because if they have 2 invoices it will show the same check number with a different amt and not blend in the end having to reenter correctly directly into QB. Maybe its the third party program but I feel there should be some way of making this work.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Tekmetric?

I like that Tekmetric works well at all of the tasks we use it for, including invoicing, estimating, parts ordering, and customer reminders. I appreciate that it is updated constantly with updates made from client requests, which is smart and progressive. I find the digital safety inspection feature valuable, along with the ability to email and text clients the reports and estimates we generate. The capability to receive written/digital authorization is great for legal compliance. I also appreciate being able to collect final invoices remotely through the credit card processing app. Despite a learning curve, we feel confident in teaching new employees to use it quickly. What do you like best about Tekmetric?

I really do enjoy the calendar feature. It's great how Auto Office and Steer link into my calendar, letting customers place their needs or appointments directly into it. Sometimes it's just perfect because I don't have to do anything to adjust or confirm; everything is done correctly, eliminating the need to call the customer to fine-tune the appointment. When customers can make their own appointments and leave comments, I can read all the comments, reviews, needs, and appointments when I get to work in the morning. Within fifteen minutes, I handle anything that happened after hours and can start my day. This truly is valuable to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tekmetric?

What do you like best about Tekmetric?

I use Tekmetric as my all-in-one shop management system. I love the ease of access, and the customer support is incredible. Kameron, in particular, is a real asset to the second-level customer service team. When I have a problem, which is usually a me thing, there are people who can help me in minutes, not days. This leads to less downtime and more efficient use of my and my team's time. I find the specific employee permissions for estimates lacking. I'd like more granular controls. I don't want advisors to change the default pricing matrix, but they need to use the estimate tab because that's essential for their job.
