What do you like best about PROS?

I really like PROS for its optimization capabilities, especially for pricing calculations that go beyond what Excel can do. We find it to be the best feature to use and value the most. "Great tool for standardized, logic-based price management"

What do you like best about PROS?

PROS Price Management is a great tool for maintaining complex price calculations that need to be periodically refreshed. Some of our calculations are several hundred lines of code - much more complex than what can be done in Excel. Code language itself, while unique to PROS ecosystem, is fairly easy to learn and resembles Excel formulas. Use of these formulas allows us to maintain consistency in price among similar products, stair-step price across brands/quality tiers, and control price conflicts across selling channels. What do you dislike about PROS?

Roll out of some enhancements to the platform has been slow. Platform also caters to many different industries, like agriculture, oil/gas, distribution, software sales, etc. This means that some features work well for one industry, but are suboptimal for another. It is much easier to give pricing across a wide range of customers and products without having to do a manual process. It is well trusted and is easier to push new pricing to help my company reach it's goals. What do you like best about PROS?

PROS has enabled us to automate our pricing system by allowing us to price millions of SKUs at the press of a few buttons. It is easy to navigate, recalculate and approve parts. What do you like best about PROS?

I have enjoyed the flexibility to use the PROS pricing solution to shape it to our business needs. Pricing team can make adaptive changes quickly when the need arises. What do you dislike about PROS?

Data validation is very structured so that is hurdle to get over at the beginning but bears fruit quickly by being rigid. The internal analytics and data visualization are being upgraded but not quite up to par when compared to fully licensed software for that purpose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering PROS:

Take the time to ask questions and help them understand your business and business needs with pricing. The time spent setting up the solution with the solutions architect is well worth the time. Attend training and get a few super users up to speed. Data cleanliness prior to starting work helps as the loading schema for data is fairly rigid (that's a good thing though). Setting up master price lists is difficult.

No ability to analyze data over time by the week.

No forecasting models.

Not able to see impact of price changes on sales.

SA and PO don't talk to each other.

Scrolling the mast part list is terrible.
