PROS continues to innovate in the optimization space and is focused on the user experience.

**What do you dislike about PROS?**

Sales team can be aggressive when pushing new solutions.

**Recommendations to others considering PROS:**

Take the time to ask questions and help them understand your business and business needs with pricing.  The time spent setting up the solution with the solutions architect is well worth the time.  Attend training and get a few super users up to speed.  Data cleanliness prior to starting work helps as the loading schema for data is fairly rigid (that's a good thing though).

**What problems is PROS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Price consistency and real time price availability.  Decreased time for speed to quote.  Having the ability to have multiple pricing types as the business needs dictate has been helpful compared to the legacy pricing systems used.

**What do you like best about PROS?**

I appreciate how integrating PROS with Salesforce CRM has streamlined contracting, making our lives very easy. I am very happy with the solution and the speed. The corporate profiles are already in, so it's very simple for sales managers to deal with. Once a quote is published, you can modify it and extract all of that back to Salesforce. The success team has been on point, helping us on our journey with weekly virtual meetings and bi-annual in-person check-ins. The team involved in the setup was amazing, handling lots of customization, which took a full year, but the result was some good stuff.

PROS makes contracting easy, integrates fully with Salesforce CRM, and simplifies sales management. It speeds up our process, and we can modify quotes and extract data seamlessly.

I like PROS for its usability and capability in price management. It helps me determine optimal pricing for numerous SKUs, which is really valuable. I appreciate that it's integration friendly, particularly with CPQ and Salesforce, making it fit seamlessly into our existing workflows. The initial setup was also easy, which was a plus.

I wish PROS provided more details on how it calculates the optimal price. It'd be great if it could show what attributes are driving the biggest changes in the calculations.

The environment requires some level of training for nonpricing professionals. And we do struggle with user adoption.

I really like PROS for its optimization capabilities, especially for pricing calculations that go beyond what Excel can do. We find it to be the best feature to use and value the most. While the initial setup was a bit challenging due to the data requirements, the IT support team at PROS was very good and helped us get through it.

**What do you dislike about PROS?**

The forecast accuracy has not been so good, so that is something that can be improved. The initial setup was a little challenging, particularly with the data that PROS needs to be inputted into the system.

I use PROS for pricing optimization, which helps enhance our revenue. Its capabilities surpass Excel for pricing calculations.

**What do you like best about PROS?**

PROS Price Management is a great tool for maintaining complex price calculations that need to be periodically refreshed. Some of our calculations are several hundred lines of code - much more complex than what can be done in Excel. Code language itself, while unique to PROS ecosystem, is fairly easy to learn and resembles Excel formulas. Use of these formulas allows us to maintain consistency in price among similar products, stair-step price across brands/quality tiers, and control price conflicts across selling channels.

**What do you dislike about PROS?**

Roll out of some enhancements to the platform has been slow. Platform also caters to many different industries, like agriculture, oil/gas, distribution, software sales, etc. This means that some features work well for one industry, but are suboptimal for another.

I like how easy it is to see and update the pricing for all of the products in our catalog. It's much faster than doing analysis myself.

I wish it was more intuitive and could be filtered a little better. I have had issues when filtering on the dates. I wish there was a way to ask specific questions about the software.

It is much easier to give pricing across a wide range of customers and products without having to do a manual process. It is well trusted and is easier to push new pricing to help my company reach it's goals. It has really revolutionized our default pricing, instead of doing it just by customer tiers, we can make it very specific.

The implementation process has been more difficult than anticipated.  Since initial scoping didn't uncover all needs, it's caused a lot of compression on the back end of the project as we try to achieve aggressive dates.

PROS has enabled us to automate our pricing system by allowing us to price millions of SKUs at the press of a few buttons. It is easy to navigate, recalculate and approve parts. Loading new pricing lookups is easy, and customer support is always on hand to help with any issues.

**What do you dislike about PROS?**

Due to the large amount of SKUs we are recalculating, the system can be slow at times.

**What problems is PROS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PROS is allowing us to load our pricing structures which are tied to specific part categories, these parts are then automatically added to the system, and the correct structure is applied to the part. We are then able to use Lookups to adjust pricing if/when needed, thus saving us many hours.

Setting up master price lists is difficult.
No ability to analyze data over time by the week.
No forecasting models.
Not able to see impact of price changes on sales.
SA and PO don't talk to each other.
Scrolling the mast part list is terrible.
constantly having to export to Excel to really look at things.

We have 9 million parts in our price list.  PROS allows for the automation of the pricing for the vast majority of that products pricing and facilitates the maintenance of that pricing.

Difficult to follow the progress of the configurator and analyze the content of the error reports. The Drawing tool is inefficient and outdated. Customer support solves problems without a pedagogical approach.

Removes the need for calculating in spreadsheets, forces standardization which creates efficiencies.  It creates workflows that are sustainable.

**What do you dislike about PROS?**

I will start with I have worked for software development companies so I understand the challege of training/documenation for customizable solutions.  However, my only feedback for PROS is the training is extremely light.  I would like to see high level documentation that simply states our solution is configurable so your training might be different depending on your business requirement needs.  It would be nice to have a list of all the pricing methods available, which lookups are required for each pricing method.  Best practices that might include a pricing analyst should set a cadence for recalculating their pricing methods since PROS does not use alerts to notify when a calculated value in a lookup has changed, recommending a new price.  It took the LS team members a lot of time to understand that PROS is not an alert tool.  This would have made the SDD document easier to review and approve.

**What problems is PROS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PROS has eliminated the need of spreadsheet creation/maintence (approximately 15+).

One of the most key feature i like is it's straightforward interface that helped navigate and find key information easily accessible.

**What do you like best about PROS?**

We have always gotten great support from a variety of PROS resources.  The tool is highly configurable to handle a variety of functions and just about any analytical needs.  PROS is typically receptive to requests for enhancements.  Extensive documentation is helpful on the PROS Connect support site.  Both analytics and executing of pricing in PROS is very intuitive and managing views and sharing content with the app is good.  Automatic price scheduling and leader/follower based pricing in PROS works great.  Great import and export functionality in the application front end.  Multi-column lookup table functionality is great for managing a wide variety of data both via automated loads and on the fly in the front end. 
 PROS as a company always seems to be forward looking with a goal to utilize the latest technology to ensure a quality product.

**What do you dislike about PROS?**

Sometimes certain things that are more common in our industry (Oil & Gas)  don't seem to have as much focus if they aren't common to PROS' major industries (airline, food, etc..).  For example, we mostly price using intra-day (timestamp) price lists.  Some updates and new functionalities have caused unexpected issues or incompatibilities with these intra-day price lists but worked fine on the daily only price lists.  We have adopted their SaaS offering, and while their response and resolution time on issues has been excellent in SaaS, it seems like enhancement type request are going to take longer since we no longer have the flexibility to implement our own changes that we had on-prem.

**Recommendations to others considering PROS:**

Implement a SaaS solution.  Ensure a good data model that is not overly complicated.

**What problems is PROS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficient pricing of thousands of products on a daily basis with fast calculations for easy analysis while pricing.  Automated pricing of various products that do not need user input on pricing decisions.  Ad-hoc reporting on a variety of data that we feed to PROS daily.

Lookup tables, benchmarks offer flexibility, the new Price Guidance and the overall look and feel of the interfaces. The number of features is also very good, uploading, exporting, etc.

**What do you dislike about PROS?**

Migration tools do not fully migrate all of the PROS offerings, it should do a better job. Platform analytics should offer more options (down to user level, a filter to remove "noise" - not just counting a user logging in an out, give the ability to identify meaningful attributes.

**What problems is PROS solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am in IT not the business. Overall for the business, it is saving a lot of time wasted inputting manual spreadsheets leaving them more time to analyze pricing options.

Conflict or contention between Sales and Pricing - solved in part by providing Sales with an envelope that they can use to make decisions and not simply be a passive part of the process.

The connected systems: Designer, cart, portal. PROS connect and other required applications are not fully connected. Multiple logins.

PROS does not have a customer user login management process. When a user leaves the company, there is not an automated way to deactivate them from the PROS systems.
