"UserTesting is great!"
What do you like best about UserTesting?

Customer Support is great, they are always there when needed and give great advice for getting the best possible results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

The platform is very simple and could use some additional features such as more detailed screeners and a wider range of question options in the tests themselves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Platform for Conducting Research"
What do you like best about UserTesting?

I've used UT throughout the years but most consistently in the last 3. It's a good platform for conducting moderated and unmoderated qual testing with people you recruit from their network as well as with your own customers. It has great features for analyzing sentiment, transcription, creating highlight reels and other details like: word clouds, rankings and time on task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

Sometimes I have found that the quality of tester is not great, (in particular they don't speak English well). While it is easy to refund and replace the participant, it adds extra time to complete research. The scheduling tool for some reason doesn't seem to work well with my customers--instead, I get days/time from them and manually schedule them myself. Regardless of platform, you need to start with a good UX researcher who knows how to frame up a proper brief with the kinds of insights you want/questions you want to ask, how to recruit participants that match a certain customer profile, and who knows the fine art of interpreting results and summarizing next steps for the team. "FAST, Quality Insights!"
What do you like best about UserTesting?

User Testing has been a great agile research tool used by our organization for several years. It is very easy to use, and data is received faster than any other platform I've come across. We utilize User Testing weekly in our organization, and are excited to also now have access to the quantitative survey tool in addition to the qualitative capability. One great thing about User Testing is that since it is so easy to use, we've been able to extend access to other functions in the business that are not specifically research-focused. Those individuals now have access to real-time consumer insights, which have proven to be invaluable in day-to-day decision-making. Also, User Testing customer support is top-notch--they are accessible, responsive, and great to work with! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

There are only a few downsides to User Testing - one being that the consumer network is not yet fully developed in certain countries/regions. It also lacks in-platform translation services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great platform to gather qualitative feedback from the users."
What do you like best about UserTesting?

It's a very helpful ans easy to use platform, with a bunch of question options to choose from for qual type of user research. I use it in my daily job and love how intuitive it is. I like how responsive and customer oriented the support team is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

Sometime different bugs occur during the recordings, which then might or might not be able to revert and recover the insights gathered. But the team is very helpful in trying to solve any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A fantastic tool for gaining valuable insights!"
What do you like best about UserTesting?

UserTesting is such an easy platform to use! The ease of use is the main thing that I like the best, the quick turnaround for getting tests out to participants, and also the ease of if a participant's recording isn't up to standard, or they haven't followed the instructions properly it's so easy to replace a participant and not disrupt the research process. The metrics and displays of data in graphs automatically are extremely helpful too, I have used these when presenting to stakeholders at short notice. The recordings are always good quality, and the transcripts are helpful to follow when you are unable to play the full recording out loud. I use the platform at least 3 times a week out of a 5 day working week and am the champion of it in our company so can say I really do love it as a tool! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

I wouldn't say it's a dislike but sometimes the transcripts are inaccurate, or details have been missed/don't match what participants have written. I know there is an AI tool that can be used by those with a more premium account with Usertesting, it would be great if you could buy use of that feature through your credits. "UT is very quick to set up and administer, but lacks more granular screening options."
What do you like best about UserTesting?

I really love how intuitive and user-friendly the product is. We introduced UT to our stakeholders to make UX research more accessible across the org, and everyone was able to use it without any issues. Another aspect I love about UT as a researcher is that it saves me a tremendous amount of time finding research participants. I simply design the study, launch it, and receive the results in just a couple of days - it's awesome! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

I would love the ability to set a participant cap for specific groups, or the option. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good for companies. Not so good for testers."
What do you like best about UserTesting?

Well at one time it used to be a good source of income for people who could test out apps and websites. The payout was decent, even good in some cases.

Screening used to be simple enough. Test plans were decent. Tech was simple and it worked. Customer support used to be responsive as well. I used to use it a lot back when all these things were good. Maybe it's still good for the companies.

In short:

- great for making side income

- great for learning testing on live production apps for career testers

- tech was great

- nice variety of tests across different domains - shopping, IT, HR, ecommerce, etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

Now everything is not so decent.

Screening is tough has heck. Test plans are long and payout isn't good or on par, depending on where you are.

Tech problems are too many nowadays. Freezes, slow downs, errors. It's very bad sometimes. Customer support isn't helpful at all.

Time is wasted and there's no remuneration for it. And when you get paid, it's peanuts nowadays.

Not at all the good income stream for testers and QAs who would put their heart and soul into testing a nice variety of apps and websites to make a nice side income.

Ratings are unfair sometimes and arbitrary. It seems like your hardwork is valued very rarely, on whims, just so that the testers don't get paid what they're owed.

They take too much time reviewing tests and you can't even screen for other tests in that period.

Test opportunities are sporadic and not consistent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The first and the best user testing platform."
What do you like best about UserTesting?

I love the automated metrics and the color-coded pain points, compliments suggestions, and so on in the video timeline. Also, the vast amount of people we can have test, the ease of setting up a test.the ease of setting up a test. The automated support when a test has a problem. a company would be using this quite often, if more teams added members to be on the subscription. Integration with Contacts Square was a breeze and very valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

The credits model to testing. I'm hoping for the day where there's a flat fee and we can test as much as we want... I believe this would make many more teams come on board in my organization. a company would be using this quite often, if more teams added members to be on the subscription. "UserTesting makes user research quick and easy"
What do you like best about UserTesting?

UserTesting makes collecting user feedback quick and easy. You can conduct various types of studies and use various types of stimuli, making it flexible for almost anyone from small busines to large corporations to use. In addition to this, their power sessions are extremely useful if you ever want to get valuable feeback from another researher, or need to think of a creative way to get the feedback you need from a researcher who knows the platform in and out. There is also live chat, which I have found to be easy to access when needed, and an extremely robust knowledge base of articles for quick reference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

I wish there were more options in the basic subscription plan. They just merged with User Zoom and are adding features that we do not have access to unless we upgrade our subscription. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool limited by recruitment challenges and analysis"
What do you like best about UserTesting?

The single most used part of UT for me is highlight reels, I use them all the time especially for interviews that I conduct outside of UT! The dedicated IA testing tools are also very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UserTesting?

Recruiting quality participants who are who they say are has become much more challenging lately, or at least it feels that way. I also struggle with the test creation interface which never seems to save my edits correctly. The analysis portion isn't very helpful especially when it comes to IA - the table output is almost impossible to interpret. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
