## Condens Reviews
  ### 1. Great platform to store and transcribe data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catalina C. | Doctoral researcher and research assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Condens?**

That I can use it organize and transcribe the recordings for my projects without worrying of misuse of data because of their privacy policy. I can also edit those transcriptions with ease online, using the commands to follow the audio as I proof them.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

The platform is not so intuitive to use and the transcription service has some troubles recognizing the voices in audios with more than 2 participantes. Also, I noticed that the platform has a lot of features that I guess could be helpful to my student/research work but I am not sure what they are for or how to take advantage of them. I would use it more frequently if I could figure out their use for my work.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transcription and organization of interviews (audio and transcription) for my doctoral research.

  ### 2. Good way to centralize User Research

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Renan J. | Senior Product Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Condens?**

Centralised place for UX Research within the company. It allows people to more easily make an understanding of the raw qualitative data, especially because of the use of a great video transcription feature.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

Customer support have been helpful in identifying possible sessions with the company, to board in the new tool, but recent changes in the plans made things we needed more expensive.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UX Research is with a low maturity in the team, and I think Condens can help in identifying possible business benefits research can bring to the table. It is also, for product and design people, a great resource of information gathered. We are trying to test the new AI features and it looks promissing.

  ### 3. Main tool for user research practicioners

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Igor K. | Lead UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Condens?**

Clear interface and controls, no unnecessary clicking. The team frequently adds new features that are thoughtful and based on user needs. Everything from uploading conversations to processing them and sharing them with colleagues can be handled very well. It's a good tool for companies looking to democratize research; I've involved all developers in Condens in addition to UX designers. Their support team is always helpful and reacts quickly.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

Condens offers basic simple management of participants and the ability to add and change their data. But it's a shame that this area - respondent management - doesn't cover more scenarios (integration with email, creating target lists, signing consents, distributing rewards, etc.). This leads to the necessary use of additional tools and the associated inefficiencies. However, this can be covered by available integrations, which requires the involvement of developers or system administrators.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In Condens, I am mainly dealing with the most important and time-consuming part of the research process - the processing of user interviews. It is possible to manage the metadata for individual interviews well, to get automatic transcripts in very good quality (especially English and Czech), the analysis process is also very good, and taking notes and assigning tags is easy. Data synthesis can then be done not only linearly in a text editor but also graphically in a canvas a la Figjam or Miro, with the advantage that the data remains linked all the time and therefore it is always possible to trace back to the original interview where the insight came from.
The other part that is really powerful in Condens is sharing results and reports to other team members. Sensitive data is only available to company employees who have simple collaborative tools thanks to the SSO deployment.

  ### 4. My experince with Condens

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Condens?**

Being able to have your data, notes, and artifacts all in one place with an interface that allows you to easily navigate between them makes for a very smooth experience. Adding codes is intuitive and I appreciate how easy it is to reference tagged information. The interface itself has been easy to learn and looks solid.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

If Condens had more robust export options that would take things to the next level. I appreciate how well everything works together in the system but there are always times when you will need to work outside of the tool. Exporting tagged data is possible but there are little to no options in how Condens formats the spreadsheet you get and this can be an issue at times.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Condens is providing a platform to store, organize and analyze qualitative data. Having a tool specifically/thoughtfully built for this purpose is nice compared to having to use multiple tools that may not be designed for that specific purpose.

  ### 5. Excellent qualitative analysis tool for small teams and upwards

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Condens?**

- One of few tools that offers breadth of pricing for a team of one through to a larger org
- Video clipping tool is invaluable for sharing aha moments and insights with stakeholders
- Great flexibility for analysis with whiteboard or transcript mode

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

Global tagging not available on the lowest pricing tier

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sense of qualitative interviews and research in a structured way - no more stickies getting lost in Miro

  ### 6. Very comfortable and fast

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis F. | UX Research Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Condens?**

I greatly value the speed with which it processes information. The customer service works phenomenally.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

The price is not very affordable. But luckily, it has an Education plan.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an excellent repository of information, while also helping to improve research insights.

  ### 7. Great Help

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Condens?**

The fidelity and quality of the transcription

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

For the way I use it, it’s enough that it gives me good audio transcriptions.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The need for good audio transcriptions, which it meets by providing me with those good transcriptions.

  ### 8. Condens has become my everyday ally for all UX research matters!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marie-Cécile G. | Chief Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Condens?**

The tagging system is straight-forward and leads to extremely rich cross-referencing and theme combinations.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

Unfortunately, the bill can get salty if your organisation is big. But the product is worth it.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Condens helps me automate all high-level analyzing tasks of finding links and themes throughout my interviews and transform them super quickly into assets that can be delivered as is to my customers.

  ### 9. Great for user research documentarion

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura R. | Experience Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Condens?**

I like the transcript option for recordings. It super easy to upload a recording (for example from Microsoft teams, look etc) and transcript it. You then have the option to automatically generate bookmarks and a summary of each section which saves a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

The architecture is not the most used-friendly one, if you are new you need to learn how to get your way around.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User research analysis and recording transcripts

  ### 10. Great Customer Engagement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Condens?**

Who loves great products and great customer support? I certainly do! I have always felt strongly that we should find people/companies doing the right thing and call them out rather than focusing on companies doing the wrong thing and calling them out. I just had such a wonderful experience with www.condens.io which we are using for user research and I wanted to share it with folks here. So far it has been better than any other tool for recording customer interviews, tagging the info in the interview and using it to generate insights. We were struggling with bringing in word docs that had our interview notes. I reached out through the in-app suggestion tool and got a response within hours. They told me the cut/paste from MS Word was a struggle for them but they would have a feature to import a Word doc very soon. Then 24hr later they send me a personal e-mail telling me the feature is done. I just tried it and it worked quite well. Retained enough formatting to make it easy to navigate the doc and tag the pertinent info.
I am so impressed with this new product Condens and the dedication the team has to their users. Way to go!

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

Still work needed to improve the cut/paste from MS Word. The Import from MS Word is good enough to retain enough of the formating to be able to pull in old interview notes and consolidated research summary and get them properly tagged

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Annotating and tagging user / customer interviews. One can take interview notes and then tag them and use the data to generate very high-quality reports. The tool will also transcribe a video recording of a meeting and then you can skip the note-taking altogether and just tag the transcript of the meeting recording. The tool is mostly designed for UX Pros but we have started using it for Product Managers as well

  ### 11. Being a solo researcher in a small organization, I have been able to optimize my research projects.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesús E. | UX Researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Condens?**

The best improvement for me has been to be able to transcribe all sessions I conduct and do the analysis and reports in the same tool. Also easily add video and audio clips to my reports/ presentations and make them more compelling. Thanks to the transcription service included in the plan makes it possible that I can code, analyse and create a good report much faster than before. The result is that I can complete projects in less time and I can also take in more work volume.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

When using the basic plan stakeholders can only see the reports but they can't log in and have access to the information stores in the repository or search data by themselves.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I reduce the number of tools I need for my projects.
I have the transcription linked to the text, code and analysis I do.
I can create reports in the same tool with video and audio clips.

I am able to complete projects faster.
I can increase the amount of projects I can work on.
I am able to analyse usability testing projects in the same tool where I analyse interview-based projects
I can do the analysis for usability testing projects in the same tool.

Reports are more attractive and compelling.

For my company is important that the company is in the EU and GDPR compelling. By competitors this point wasn't very clear.

  ### 12. Proactive customer service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Condens?**

I like the ability to create group tags that can be used for multiple sessions.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

While the transcription is good, it is not great. I often have to listen and relisten and edit when I want to use a direct quote.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a tool for easy video creation. Condens met this challenge!

**Official Response from Alexander Knoll:**

> Hi there,

thank you for reviewing Condens and we're glad that it helped you with creating video highlights.

I'm not sure if you know: We are switching our provider for transcription this month which currently provides the best accuracy in the industry. If you want to get early access you can write us and we will activate it for you.

Happy researching

  ### 13. A friendly and lightweight tool to aid user research.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adéla T. | UX researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Condens?**

I really like how lightweight it is, with no unnecessary functionality and it's not trying to do everything, but instead do the important things properly. Condens team is also quick to listen to any feedback and their support is working great and fast as well. I especially like the analysis options, video highlights and working with Conclusions.
Another noteworthy thing is how fast the product is improving by adding functionality and tweaking things regularly.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

I'm not really a fan of the font choice and generally the UI - I like that it's very minimalistic, but the overall graphic design is not that impressive (but that's not really that much of an issue). But the thing that could use some work is the information architecture, which is sometimes a bit sketchy and can be confusing.

**Recommendations to others considering Condens:**

Don't get discouraged by the look of it and by the fact that it's so lightweight. This lack of unnecessary functionality is very refreshing and it still gives us all we need for qualitative data analysis.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Condens as a tool for qualitative analysis and also a place to clearly store and organize research projects.

  ### 14. Great research analysis tool: easy and pretty complete

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raffaella R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Condens?**

Its usability and the metadata gathering which helps filtering and sorting when synthesizing; the hyperlinks as well that help navigate content. The fact that supports multimedia sources.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

So far, not much, but additional functionalities could improve it: editing of highligths transcripts [...], a global search.

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'ts helping in analysing and synthesising research data from interviews and other activities. Coding, extracting tagged content, putting together quotes to support insights it's easy and straight forward. Also, being collaborative we could work within more researchers.

  ### 15. Great tool to work collaboratively on data analysis for UX researchers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Merche G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Condens?**

You can work easily on analysing qualitative research and on the conclusion at the same time; because it has a double view where you can tag the insights and create finding quickly.
It is improving continuously; now you can also tag on an audio and video.

**What do you dislike about Condens?**

It is excellent to analyse after the research assembly. I would like also use during the session, record the audio or video, and my notes would be already timestamp coordinate with them.

**Recommendations to others considering Condens:**

Try it and compare

**What problems is Condens solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralize the data analysis and share with other researchers working at the same project.
