"Powerful CMS with Intuitive Editing, Needs Better Upgrade Process"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

What I love is the 'what you see is what you get' page editor because it allows me to drag and drop widgets and see the final result in real time. This makes my day-to-day work much faster because I can build out a landing page and verify the layout myself, without having to wait for the developer to push a preview to the staging environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

The biggest headache with this software is the version upgrade process. It often feels like a massive technical undertaking rather than a simple patch. It would be a huge improvement if the updates were more seamless, as we currently have to spend a significant amount of time testing for broken customizations every time a new release comes out. "Scalable CMS/DXP with strong personalization"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

What stands out most about Progress Sitefinity is its balance between usability and capability. It’s intuitive for non-technical editors - thanks to its clean interface, out-of-the-box widgets, and straightforward content publishing - while still offering developers flexibility through its MVC-based architecture and easy integrations. Features like content staging, scheduled synchronization, and strong personalization make workflows more efficient and reliable, even for smaller teams. There are some forward thinking AI integrations, combined with solid performance, robust security, and responsive support, it’s a dependable CMS that scales well across projects of varying complexity. Pricing is competitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

While Progress Sitefinity is generally user-friendly and powerful, some of its strengths come with trade-offs. Features like multilingual setup, personalization, and environment management can require manual configuration and coordination across environments, which adds complexity and slows workflows. The platform’s flexibility and extensibility - particularly with custom development - can also make upgrades more fragile, often requiring .NET expertise to manage safely. Out-of-the-box functionality isn’t always complete either, with search being a common gap that needs third-party enhancement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlines Product Enrichment with Ease"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

I like the friendly user interface and logical filtering options for products in Progress Sitefinity. The shortcuts, especially the net product shortcut (j) and K, really help me systematically move through the filtered products and make necessary changes. The import and export of product data in a CSV format has been extremely helpful. It simplifies the process of enriching products without in-depth coding knowledge by providing a single page for optimizing the SEO of a product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

I would like to be able to view a product image in the back-end so I can ensure the HTML used in the product description is displaying correctly and also to ensure that the product photos fit the necessary measurements. I think having an upload history for the product descriptions improvements would be helpful. I would also like to be able to revert an upload if a mistake has been made. "Stable, Reliable, and User-Friendly Content Platform"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

I use Progress Sitefinity as the content platform for our intranet sites. It provides a robust platform that allows our developers to deploy business applications needed to run daily operations. The platform has been very stable and reliable, and users can easily create and share content. It handles adding graphics, video, and content easily without requiring the special intervention of our web development team. The infrastructure and initial site setup were pretty easy to get started with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

An import tool that would work with something like DNN to carry content and applications across to speed up migration to Sitefinity would be helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Why Sitefinity Is Our Top Choice for Web Development"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

- Quality and quantity of documentation

- Speed of release of new versions and features

- Levels of technical support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

We've had some minor issues in the past when the documentation was not aligned with the latest version, and the pricing model for subdomains is a little draconian, but, in general, we have no serious complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible MVC Architecture and Strong Backend Control in Sitefinity"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

I really value how user-friendly Sitefinity is for both developers and content editors. The platform features a clean interface, flexible page management, and robust personalization capabilities. Its MVC-based development approach makes creating custom widgets and modules straightforward, while the integrated tools for content editing, media management, and multilingual support enable teams to collaborate efficiently. The deployment and environment synchronization options are also time-saving and help minimize errors. All in all, Sitefinity delivers a stable and dependable CMS that effectively supports projects of varying complexity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

Certain features, such as language packs and specific settings, often demand additional manual steps. We frequently have to configure these elements individually and then coordinate deployments to apply the changes. This approach tends to slow down the process and increases the workload, particularly when managing several environments. Streamlining and automating these tasks would greatly enhance the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Customization-Driven but Hindered by Bulk Upload Limitations"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

I like the customization in Progress Sitefinity. We can create modules as per our requirements and specifications, which is really helpful. Also, templates and widgets stand out as positive aspects for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

There are some limitations like we cannot do bulk uploads. Which is not possible. Like, there are n number of rows we have to upload. On a website, like a table. That is not possible using CSV or Excel, XLS file. That is the limitations we face on-site. Initially, it was very difficult to set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Content Management with Excellent Support"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

I truly appreciate the ease of publishing content using the out-of-the-box widgets and forms within Progress Sitefinity's framework, as it requires minimal customizations. This feature simplifies content management immensely. Additionally, I love the ability to stage content, allowing me to validate it before it goes live. The workflow to perform scheduled syncs to the production website once the content is reviewed and approved is incredibly efficient and adds a level of professionalism and reliability to our processes. Progress Sitefinity also impressed me with how easy the initial setup was. The fantastic documentation and top-notch support from Progress made our transition smooth and trouble-free. I am so satisfied with the capabilities and user-friendly nature of Progress Sitefinity that I rate my likelihood of recommending it to others a perfect 10. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

I dislike that the out-of-the-box search functionality in Progress Sitefinity is not very effective. It often necessitates integrating third-party implementations to enhance and streamline content search capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful CMS, Easy for Contributors"
What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?

The clean, intuitive user interface and how easy it is to update content. We use Sitefinity Cloud, and their support is very helpful. On the rare occasion the site runs into issues (cloud availability incident), support has usually already started looking into or already resolved the problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?

They changed their support tiers, so you now have to pay more for the support you used to receive as part of your plan. The response times are now slower, which can be frustrating. It is rather expensive in general. We had custom functionality added by a Sitefinity partner, so upgrading Sitefinity can be somewhat problematic as the custom functionality can break in the process. It helps to be familiar with .NET as well, especially when trying to troubleshoot on the backend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
