## About Progress Sitefinity
Progress Sitefinity is a cloud-first content management system (CMS) and digital experience platform (DXP) used to build, manage and personalize websites, portals and other digital properties. It is adopted by mid-market and enterprise organisations that operate multi-site, multilingual or regulated digital estates and need to balance marketing autonomy with IT governance and developer flexibility. Primary use cases include corporate websites, member and customer portals, authenticated experiences, integration-heavy workflows and consolidation of fragmented CMS deployments. Sitefinity supports marketing, development and IT teams through a shared platform model with role-appropriate tools and permissions. Key capabilities include: - Multisite, multilingual and multi-brand management with governance controls and workflows - Native customer data platform (Sitefinity Insight) for segmentation, analytics and personalization - 1,000+ prebuilt connectors and open APIs, Sitefinity Cloud platform integrates with your MarTech stack, CRM and enterprise systems in hours—not weeks - Extensibility using .NET and ASP.NET Core for custom development and composable architectures Sitefinity also incorporates generative and retrieval-augmented capabilities through Progress® Agentic RAG, enabling dynamic assembly of experiences from approved content to reduce manual production work while maintaining accuracy, compliance and brand standards. Additional operational benefits and deployment considerations: - Standardization and consolidation of CMS estates across business units or regions - Support for marketing, development and IT workflows without requiring a headless-only approach - Structured content for regulated or high-volume publishing environments - Deployment on-premises or as a managed cloud service on Microsoft Azure, reducing maintenance and providing security, scaling and compliance

## Progress Sitefinity Reviews
  ### 1. Sitefinity works for us

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2015

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

we've been using Sitefinity for our public site and an extranet for two years. We just upgraded to version 9.1 which is a significant improvement over 7.1. What I like best about Sitefinity is the page composition element as well as distributed authorship. We also use it as a document and image repository. Our site sits on the Bootstrap responsive framework and with some knowledge of CSS and Bootstrap it provides a solid user experience.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Template modification is rather complicated as is building and integrating modules.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

I'd strongly suggest considering Sitefinity as a CMS.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our old site was a manual update process, now we have multiple authors, varied access levels for users, a review and approval process, and it has simplified our time to publish new content.

  ### 2. Been using Sitefinity for 1 year. Pleased with the platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark M. | Marketing Manager, Staffing and Recruiting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Easy to add content and create and/ or duplicate new pages. Can go back and see past revisions easily. Can develop pages in a preview mode before publishing.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Happens very little but for things like widgets and banners, we need to have the company who worked with us on developing the website actually move. Minor but there are some elements that are beyond our capability to change.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much easier for our applicants to find jobs and apply with us. Great mobile experience for our users.

  ### 3. Fully Equipped Development Platform save time in many areas.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The frequent updates and ability to keep up-to-date with modern programming standards. The developer community and infrastructure to aid in developments and bug resolution.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Lots and lots of bugs. I have been using Sitefinity for years within our research institution. Much of my time was spent in support forums trying to find the "workaround" for a known issue in the product. The CMS is heavy and complex and it seems no matter how much it is improved the compilation is always about the same.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

If you want a fully customizable CMS at a high price use sitefInfinity if your looking for a simple non-complex cheap solution look elsewhere.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a CMS with business roles integrated. Quick and easy Web application features deployed by non technical users.

  ### 4. Sitefinity CMS

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I like the WYSIWIG editor the best. It gives the client the easiest method to edit pages.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

There are some things that I do not like, many of which are from a development standpoint. The documentation for developers is not very comprehensive or very well-organized. The API can be inconsistently designed and difficult to use, but mostly I feel that this is down to the documentation.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Do your research. If Sitefinity will fit your needs, it should do so well. When it works, it works very well. When it doesn't work, it really, really doesn't work and can be difficult to fix.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our clients wish to have a mid-grade CMS that allows them to easily edit content, which Sitefinity definitely provides.

  ### 5. Sitefinity has been a clean intuitive interface for setting up pages and adding content easily

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I really like how clean the user interface is as well as how easy it is to customize pages and content with little html and css knowledge

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I wish there was a better help section and tutorials for learning the site quicker.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

If your looking for something that is easily customized this is a no-brainer.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had really good success with being able to receive donations through our website. From my perspective enabling lay-employees to add and update content has been invaluable.

  ### 6. Using Sitefinity in a public website

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marwan T. | Senior Manager - Cloud and Digital (EMEA), Management Consulting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Simple and easy to use. short learning curve for content editors, easy inline editing and good html editors

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

documentation was missing bits and pieces. it was hard to figure out cloud deployments.
development of widgets was using older framework

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

make sure it fits your business needs and long term plans. it doesn't cover all enterprise cms features but of course does a good job within the scope designed for it

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

website content management. it is suitable for small marketing team

  ### 7. Review for Sitefinity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ridhi R. | Web Application Developer, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2017

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

ease to develop multi site websites. and MVC support for new widgets

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

sometimes too difficult to understand how it works internally. need to adjust things the sitefinity way

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

developing department websites and helping student to learn about various courses.

  ### 8. Very powerful cms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve M. | Developer, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

- lots of ootb features, you can start building right away
- mvc feather bootstrap based
- amazing support channels

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

- no entry level pricing
- so many modules it can be hard to get a bug fixed in a timely manner

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

It can do just about anything. Familiarize yourself with how everything works.

Also leverage the google+ group for community support.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deliver complex content to Faculty and students with extremely complex permissions.

We can concentrate on content not tooling

  ### 9. A day in the life of a user

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I like how feature packed Sitefinity is, it has a big offering along with continually updated modules. For a developer it is easy to pick up, understand and develop for (for the most part).

I love the time it takes for the development site to load after deploying changes, and the way Sitefinity mixes both webforms and MVC methodologies together in one big soup bowl, swirls it around and BOOM!! Sitefinity applications are created.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Hmmmm, now that is hard to pinpoint just one thing - trying to describe this using more than 40 characters will be tough but let me see...

I dislike the time it takes for a Sitefinity site to load after deploying to UAT, QA or PROD environments (obviously this could be down to internal architecture, but i doubt it somehow) I dislike how Sitefinity have mashed the concepts of webforms and MVC together for what appears no apparent value.

I dislike the interface as it is cumbersome (not cucumber, that is tasty, this is not) for users and developers alike (i know i am a developer but that doesn't make me a genius, even Robert Langdon couldn't work out this interface in time to save the world).

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving the crisis of life, to be honest a crisis is something that man has created, like the concept of time, money and existence.

We have created crisis to further cement the reason we are here, if we stripped everything back, back to the very basics of life we would find that money has not concept, time is not every ebbing away and that a crisis is nothing more than a fiction we create in our heads.

There is not such thing as a problem to solve as we have created these so called problems for ourselves.

  ### 10. Great CMS but slow at times

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The back end of Sitefinity is laid out really well and is intuitive for users with moderate knowledge.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

From my experience, sites built with Sitefinity are heavy downloads for the end user. This could just be the sites I have worked on and not represent any problem with Sitefinity itself. I have also noticed the API is overly complex and not easily used, that would be great for doing advanced things but an API shouldn't have a day-to-day standing of "don't use unless absolute necessary."

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are working on a massive site and Sitefinity's back end looks like it will make maintaining the site, once we are finished implementing it, much easier.

  ### 11. Extremely extensible and the users like using it, however development is slow.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Russ F. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The ability to create custom widgets using Sitefinity's API.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Load times are incredibly slow which makes development a pretty terrible experience. Unfortunately I inherited this project and the original developers chose VB webforms as the platform.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

If implementing a new CMS for a client, i would personally recommend a more widely used and/or open source solution.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simple content management and displaying of information. Custom widgets are used for specialized views and custom navigation.

**Official Response from Kelsey Schuering:**

> Hi Russ - thank you for providing us with feedback. We take comments and feedback very seriously and use them to help us improve in the future. ### 12. Two Large Scale Implimentations under my belt.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

.NET ecosystem. The dynamic modules made it easy to set up custom types. Nice interface for setting up page hierarchy and easy for clients to manipulate pages. Master template system nice.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Ecommerce modules could you alot of work. Multisite providers can be a bit confusing to understand, as each site has its own provider that differs from the default.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

If you're looking for an ecommerce platform, this is the only place sitefinity really falls flat.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its a website CMS, so thats the use case we've tackled. We've used sitefinity in one instance to set up 900+ micro sites for franchisees and built a custom interface to create more with the click of a button.

  ### 13. I'v e used Sitefinity for 4+ years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The extensibility of Sitefinity for developers is outstanding, including it's support for MVC. For content authors and managers the simplicity and ease of the interface is among the best. the ability to manage multiple sites and share content between multiple instances is a feature that has made our Marketing group very happy.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

We'd like to see more robust email campaign features in a future release.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

You will fins Sitefinity an extremely easy product to use for developers and content authors. Coding additional components and training content authors has never been easier.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to easily target specific audiences and regions with Sitefinity in a way not previously possible.

  ### 14. Sitefinity Certified Developer turned Business Analyst

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefiinity is very easy to setup and even easier to add content and get your website online. The dynamic modules make it simple for users or developers to add custom content. Their documentation is a valuable resource as it is very rich in explanation and examples.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The only things that are giving us a hard time are:
- Dynamic Modules cannot be created via code
- The Install/Uninstall feature of the Dynamic module (when deploying a new feature to an existing website) is not 100% reliable.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

The trial period is more then enough time to setup and deploy a project. Once you do that you will see how easy it is to use Sitefinity.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We offer custom solutions for the Medical Research field and we have found that Sitefinity enables us to offer our customer a reliable and proven platform as a foundation for our projects.

  ### 15. Great Out of The Box Product and Easily Customizable

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2017

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefinity is very easy to use proven options and features out of the box. Easy installation.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Lack of consistent notifications on updates also it seems to be improving significantly

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Sitefinity for our main website, it allows us to easily and stylistically get information out to web services developers that are actively working on building APIs to establish integration with our online shipping channel.

  ### 16. We use Sitefinity as the platform for our website.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The ease of use, it is very easy to keep our site updated with new information. The drag and drop content boxes/widgets make it very easy when designing pages. The community forums are also helpful.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Not a lot, if anything it would be backend stuff such as upgrading and license keys. But I am not a developer so I just don't have knowledge of these processes.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our website is really a brochure website, we are not an e-commerce business. Since we started using Sitefinity it is much easier to update projects and news on our site, link to our social media feeds, and we even created a blog.

  ### 17. Powerful and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew R. | Account Executive, Digital Marketing, Security and Investigations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefinity is clean, easy to use and navigate. It does everything we need and has all the connectivity, integrations, security and power we're looking for.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Haven't encountered any dislikes yet. Will let you know when/if we encounter any.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

It should meet all your needs. Robust offering at an affordable price.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to be more nimble and cost-effective with website updates. We also want to be ready for e-commerce. Sitefinity is helping with both.

  ### 18. Easy to use drag and drop interface. Can be troublesome for developers.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The interface is easy to use for an untrained user. The support team does a great job helping us out.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

It can be a bit hard to figure out where to configure things for a developer. I am currently working on a problem where I have no visibility into what is happening within sitefinity.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

It is a great tool to consider. It will allow more customization than a standard wordpress site and allows for .net implementations in your site.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to quickly implement new pages on our site. We can allow non-developers to work in the cms and get things done with little tech expertise.

  ### 19. Satisfied Customer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2017

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Faster load times, easier deployment and re visioning for Content Blocks in the Sitefinity 9.2 version have been the biggest upgrades.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Nothing. There is nothing we dislike about Sitefinity.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Definitely.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are the largest nursing in America. Having an efficient prospective student website is our primary goal. We needed to build a fast loading easy to website which was easier to administer.

  ### 20. Sitefinity is much more intuitive than most Wordpress sites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The ease of use. Having used Wordpress themes for our other sites and having to dig through endless menus to find anything (there are still things that I haven't been able to change), I am happy to have something that is easy for technical people like myself as well as marketing people to be able to update the site as needed.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I wish the forms were more dynamic. We had a use for a radio button changing options on the forms but it was going to have to be custom designed.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Go for it.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the site to get our name out and advertise our businesses.

  ### 21. There are many advantages, but also many disadvantages.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emanuel B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The best thing on Sitefinity is the "Drag & Drop" Page Editor itself.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I must say, that the performance is not the best.
If you add more and more dynamic modules and languages, the system is in the end very slowly.
This is not depending on the server. This is a problem of the sitefinity core.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit of sitefinity is, that you can extend very much.

  ### 22. Good Website Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefinity does well at allowing our users to do easy editing of our web pages and content and allows for a good system of updating pages and has a nice interface

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Occasionally the updates do break some functionality and code that our users are used to, and sometimes create a few hurdles for our web designers to overcome and fix, however due to the nature of this being custom code it is a bit understandable.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Sitefinity is definetly a strong contendor that merits considering. Make sure you do your research and ensure it will fit your needs and deployment.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to have multiple sites using sitefinity and having the backend of the sites all look the same, which creates smooth editing flow for our users who have to login to the backend to edit the site such as updating content and images.

  ### 23. Sitefinity Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

At a basic level sitefinity is relatively easy use. Dragging and dropping items where needed makes basic page building very convenient.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Trying to go outside of the basic things within sitefinity seems to require a lot more knowledge in web page building. Trying to customize certain widgets like the navigation bar can be very complicated. Also implementing things like jquery is proven to be a challenge for myself who is relatively new to web page building.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitefinity is currently be used for our company website. It has helped give our site a professional look and is relatively easy to keep updated and fresh.

  ### 24. Easy to use Content Management System

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2017

many features and ability to create a easy and fast website

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

file management system and documentation

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

letting the users manage and create content without developer or IT involvement all the time. They can do things quickly and when they want without bothering IT to change simply content or documents

  ### 25. Great business CMS

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The built-in tools for adding and editing content are very user-friendly and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

In the past documentation for development has been a little thin although I feel that this is improving.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Make sure you have a strong development partner familiat with .NET and SiteFinity if you want any custom features

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowijg business (marketing) users to change content on a public web site

  ### 26. Sitefinity has been an okay experience.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary Jane M. | Marketing Manager, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The easy drag and drop UI. It's easy to preview the page.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Slowness & back and forth editing. Lots of time out errors.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm trying to create the best user experience possible so that I see an improved conversion rate on my website. I've realized that mobile responsiveness and a/b testing is the key to a best UX.

  ### 27. It has been a difficult road, but the finished product is good

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan A. | Network Services Manager, Government Administration, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The end product and capabilities that sitefinity has given us from a content management standpoint have been good.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The early going we had lots of issues and support was hard to come by and took weeks to get issues resolved. We also had lots of issues get the licensing figured out.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

It seems like most the early quirks we dealt with have been worked out over time. Our second deployment was much smoother and less problematic.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We allowing end users to add content and keep our sites up to date and more dynamic.

  ### 28. Great CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I like its easy-to-use, drag and drop UI; Great mobile version site support; fantastic tech support.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The most important weakness of the sitefinity is the version control. I found it is really hard to finish a upgrade from version 3.6 to the current. It is library module which blocked the successful upgrade. I also hope I can see a trigger which can make the default control's style, for example, the menu style.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am handling around 10 website in different fields. Thanks to the sitefinity, I can manage all the sites efficiently.

  ### 29. Great for managing content but lacks in ecommerce

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

It's great for creating custom content and managing multiple content types. There is a lot of power in the module builder.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The eccommerce piece of sitefinity is disappointing. I think if it was integrated in better the experience would improve greatly. It's also not mvc which can cause some issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Great for handling multiple and varied content types

Not so great for eccommerce

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a good cms to handle all of our content production. We've realize how customizable sitefinity is to our workflow. We aren't constrained like we were with other cms.

  ### 30. Love the library feature

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patti S. | Early Childhood Data Manager, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2017

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

What stands out in SiteFinity versus other CMS is the library feature, allowing me to easily manage large numbers of documents both in the front and back end.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Cannot say there isn't anything I dislike.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web and online database hosting.

  ### 31. Great product for a nonprofit with multi authors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The ability for different staff members to make simple updates to the website without having to go through the Marketing department.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Some of the integration features are difficult to implement. For instance, inserting code from MailChimp is not a simple as it should be (example, creating an email signup form)

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Making integration with other major sites easier. For example, Mailchimp.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a conservation nonprofit organization. We needed a website that was easy to update, affordable, and had the ability to have multiple users make edits.

  ### 32. A powerful flexible CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

It is very powerful and feature rich. Sitefinity is intelligently designed to be modular and offers the flexibility to work with the .net syntax we are familiar with. It empowers our customers to manage and edit their websites and content easily through the back-end interface.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

There are a few things that I dislike with sitefinity. Advanced development with Sitefinity is complicated and can be difficult to get started with. They have several different ways for building modules and custom widgets and their documentation isn't the greatest (mostly really old and outdated). It isn't terrible once you establish a workflow but could be better. Another issue related to development is the build time and initial startup. It takes several minutes to build and initialize projects which slows down development if you don't have some sort of CI in place for dev.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

If you are developing or migrating enterprise websites and applications using .net this is a great CMS. There are other options that use more modern language/ frameworks if you are developing from scratch.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitefinity is a great platform for organizations that manage lots of information. It makes it easy to develop extensive websites and applications that are content driven. Sitefinity has an extensive list of features that speed up development time and simplify the back-end and administrative ends of the development process. We like it and our clients like it.

  ### 33. Easy to deploy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Flexibility in deployment options. We were originally told by a 3rd party that it would be deployed to a single host, which was not acceptable. Instead, by doing a little research, I found that we could deploy to a scalable, multi-node Web App in Azure.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

During the first time license renewal, we had to contact sales directly rather than simply renewing through the online portal.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a content solution that our end users could easily update.

  ### 34. Recommend Sitefinity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2017

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefinity is user friendly! Content creators like how intuitive it is to use. Cuts down on time when developing sites.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The upgrade process is time consuming would like to have cumulative upgrades,

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having the ability to create basic sites quickly. Easy for our customers to use.

  ### 35. I have been quite happy with Sitefinity for the past 2 years.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

It is a very robust platform and easy to administer once you learn the system. I can easily assign different access and authoring levels to different people within the organization based on their requirements. It is quite easy to add and manage content as needed.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The biggest drawback I've found is the lack of a true blog module with the visual design capabilities that a blog typically has. I have had my developer customize the module to fit my requirements but I had hoped for more out of the box.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Try the demo system before you purchase to ensure you are comfortable with the interface.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to upgrade our website and bring the management of it in-house.

  ### 36. Great CMS but slow

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nazrul Mizuar A. | Senior Web Developer, Airlines/Aviation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Slow compiling the page when server warmup

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Huge data data issue, because it easy to customize we can resolved the issue using external tools or object

  ### 37. SiteFinity from Developer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

How I can just create asp.net user controls in Visual Studio like everything else and implement them as widgets in SiteFinity.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Site runs fairly slow loading pages, anytime you have to publish changes to site which is not very often it takes around 5 minutes for the site to get past the gears page and be usable

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moving from employee site to CMS for ease of keeping data up to date by having users be able to update content.

  ### 38. Business Analyst during CMS Evaluation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

We liked its usability, marketing features, analytics, authentication integration, fully responsive web design, browser compatibility, and viability.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The cost of implementation wasn't as great as something that was open source, but we were willing to eat it for the value.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Pick what best fits the tools you have available.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We looked at Sitefinity to address the security and usability problems we were having with SharePoint. We've already noticed the usability is significantly better for our business partners to change and implement content.

  ### 39. Great CMS , Easy to extend

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gokhan K. | Head Of Digital Technologies, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefinity's Extensibility is very mature. Tooling and Community is great.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

eCommerce and some widgets are still using WebForms and boot up time and Testing

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ECommerce websites. Creating modules are super easy . We implemented some of the user stories within an hour.

  ### 40. Slight learning curve, but quite intuitive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carolyn G. | Director of Marketing & Communications, Wireless, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Content blocks are easy to work with. Page creation is quite simple too - no need to know HTML.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Template pages are difficult to change. Sometimes blocks of content are locked through CSS and I require external assistance. I wish I could change these myself.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Expect a slow ramp up. Outsource to experts to get things started.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Awareness for our company, Promotion of products and services, credibility for our company, detailed information, ecommerce/sales, lead generation, google traffic (SEO)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

It's a great CMS that is easy to manage for both technical and non-technical.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Nothing. We enjoy using every aspect of SiteFinity

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for our public facing corporate website and marketing related activities like our corporate blog.

  ### 42. Excellent CMS with nice customization ability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

We have enjoyed using Sitefinity at our organization, and over the years, we have enjoyed the useful features and updates they continue to add.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sometimes we experience issues with upgrades because features we are using become depreciated. It doesn't seem well communicated what is being depreciated with new upgrades (or I'm just never looking in the right place)

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of access for multiple people to update a website. e-commerce as well.

  ### 43. Great Product and meets what we need

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The module builder is a great asset. The option to create and add widgets to your CMS is a great asset.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sometimes the Upgrades makes it tricky. But not too bad.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

I get a feel that sitefinity development has died down. Need some more cool functionalities which will throw new ideas for our folks to use on the site.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this primarily as a Content management system for our enterprise.

  ### 44. Overall Sitefinity is a great CMS

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Support can be slow at times to respond, however I have been pleased with the level of detail provided by support, once a response is given.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Site-Sync allows to stage deployments and manage content in a way that no other solution has. This has definitely helped improve process flow for content owners/management as well as IT.

  ### 45. Good product but overly complicated for custom solutions

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 12, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

It is a customizable solution for website construction and can support just about any type of site

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

If you want to customize your site, getting into the back-end of the site can be pretty daunting and the documentation is often lacking

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

If you want to get into the custom side of things you'll want training or help from a third party specialist

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralization of the website functionality

  ### 46. Why Sitefinity?

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Excellent support, very stable product and platform. We appreciate the flexibility provided by use of this content management system.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

There are often far too many product uodates, patches and upgrades which makes it difficult for our IT staff to keep the system up to date.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One place to manage all things web; business rules and creating the capability to quickly make changes to our website by people who may not have programming skills.

  ### 47. Solid and secure CMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefinity makes it easy to deploy content to our website. As the developer for the organization, I am able to set up a page structure and let the departments add content themselves. Things are organized nicely.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

We mainly use Sitefinity to accept donations for our non-profit but the eCommerce module doesn't fully support this. We had to make our own widget to allow variable pricing but it is a pain to fix when new Sitefinity versions are released.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous CMS was difficult to update and didn't work properly in some web browsers. Sitefinity makes it easy to add news, updates and pages while keeping things W3C compliant.

The forums /blogs /knowledge base is not labeled with the Sitefinty version , which leads to confusions.
There is not widget for the page title!

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using the product for Websites. it is usable for the end users.

Keep getting intermittent issue return code 0

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Don't customize with your own code without fully understanding whole sitefinity (it goes without saying)
if you do...it will behave pretty bad in some area. Return code 0 most of the time

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CMS for big corporations.
not sure of the benefits yet.
