**What do you like best about Cludo Search?**

An improved site search over our Drupal CMS site Search which was very lacking. Before Cludo, our results were mixing in results from several years ago as top results that were no longer relevant.

We can rest assured that people are coming to the site now and finding what they are looking for easily. 

Whenever we have a question we get lightning quick feedback from customer support which is much appreciated.  Cludo's customer support is the best I've experienced   after working with a large number of vendors.

**What do you dislike about Cludo Search?**

I can't think of anything I would change about Cludo.  The company's price point is reasonable and the ease of use and implementation goes very smoothly.

**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hands down it is an improved overall site search experience.  In fact, I would consider it to be the cadiallac of internal site searches, especially coming from our natural CMS site search in Drupal.  The Drupal site search was very lacking and often mixed in old results with new results, making it difficult for site visitors to understand what items were the most relevant.  Now with Cludo we have the ability to prioritize what want to show up for folks that are searching specific terms and can also exclude things that we don't want to appear like old events and files.

**What do you like best about Cludo Search?**

Ease of use. The platform is easy to understand and manage. Rarely do I need to consult technical documentation, unless I am configuring or implementing a new feature. Customer support is helpful. Our account managers and customer success managers have been the most attentive and helpful of any vendor I've ever contracted with.  New features roll out regularly. Very easy to customize for our environment. Reliable service (in North America).

**What do you dislike about Cludo Search?**

Customer support is based in Europe; this usually delays North American support requests until the next day.

**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cludo Search's customization features allow us to align local search with our strategic priorities. The platform's analytics allow us to immediately respond to various content issues at a glance. Cludo Search is also effective at revealing duplicate content, or content with poor SEO in need of improvement.

**What do you like best about Cludo Search?**

Honestly? The people. Their search rocks, the dashboard and tools available are intuitive and easy to use, but that's not what I want to harp on. What I want to harp on is their support and their service as genuine human beings. I'm the senior developer for a large university in Colorado, and the relationship we have with Cludo is a delight. From our salesrep, to their engineers we've met, to the support agents, everyone we have met at Cludo is just a genuine good person. They are so helpful, understand our perspective and our unique challenges as a university with a very small web team, and are willing to go as many extra miles as they need to in order to ensure that we are not only satisfied, but thrilled with their service. And oh boy, am I thrilled with their service. Their level of service is NOT a common practice in this industry, and for me, it makes Cludo the CLEAR stand out in their vertical.

**What do you dislike about Cludo Search?**

There's really not much I don't like. If I had to choose something, I could probably only say that inheriting an existing setup without proper training or documentaiton during pass off (from your employer's side I mean, not from Cludo's) can be a little overwhelming to learn at first. But I still have to praise Cludo here as well, because when we reached out to them and informed them that we were struggling to do and understand some things in the account we inheritied without a proper passoff from our predecessor, they immediately scheduled a training for myself and my co-worker so that we would be comfortable in the environment.

**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cludo just makes search easy and intuitive so that I, as the single developer for a 5 college university with 12,000+ students, don't have to stress about it. It's so easy to create a crawler, pass through the URL's you want to crawl, create the engine for that crawler (and pass through multiple crawlers to one engine if that's your desire) and then embed your engine onto your site and serve your results (with customized display options) in at your desired url. We are also transitioning off of our current CMS into a different CMS, and the ease at which we were able to create an engine specifically for development purposes (as well as Cludo's willingness to check on it to ensure everything was set up correctly) cannot be understated.

It gives us a clearer view of searches with 0 results so we can create content and lets us easily reorder and prioritise search results based on business priorities.

Sometimes needs a bit of tech support at the start to ensure it's able to easily identify content from multiple sources (under one domain) - a complexity I doubt many general users would face.

Tells us what we need to know from a simple to use dashboard instead of spending time setting up and trawling analytics software to pick out searches.

Has significantly improved the quality of of site search. It's very easy to use and quick to boost page rankings.

Would like more styling options on the search banners as we use these more and more frequently.

We have been able to search across multiple websites and exclude any urls which we don't want. We proactively use the search banners to reduce calls.

**What do you like best about Cludo Search?**

Cludo's interface is fairly easy to use. Easy to tailor results and set rankings.

**What do you dislike about Cludo Search?**

Site search performing poorly is our most-received complaint about our website from our users. They expect it to perform just as well as Google or Bing. Cludo has said that the largest reason we're seeing poor results is because the quality of our content (my team consists of two people and many web authors creating content for nearly 20,000 pages).

It seems that my team and I have to practically tailor every result to make sure it's returning relevant pages, and we frankly don't have time for that.

**Recommendations to others considering Cludo Search:**

Definitely evaluate your options. Google and Azure both offer very competitive offerings, especially considering their price points.

**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had an aging Google Search Appliance that we were using beyond its EOL. The appliance had a very sticky cache and it became unreliable when crawling pages.

I was investigating an error related to Cludo search for my client when I contacted Cludo to look into it. The response from Cludo was swift and positive. They were able to pin point the root cause of the error and eventually fix the issue.

**What do you dislike about Cludo Search?**

The timezone difference between us and the Cludo team can be frustrating at times since sometimes we want quick resolution of the issues. However, the response from the Cludo team is quick so far so we haven't reached a point where we are not getting responses on time.

Cludo has made positive impacts on our work with easy to integrate search functionalities.

The analytics, the list of tools available in the dashboard to improvise the search functionality are really helpful.

Nothing big to mention. Few of the minor issues we faced in the search output has been fixed by the excellent, proactive Support team.

**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have around 9000 different pages in our Documentation Website with several publications, sub-publications and different versions of them. It's very complicated to fetch relevant content for a search term using various different scenarios and categorize them with proper filter settings. Cludo's configuration setup extremely benefits us in this matter.

I have been a customer for approximately 6 months.  I have been very pleased with Cludo's customer service.  My questions are always answered in a timely and knowledgeable manner.   Their support team worked with me extensively to configure and fine-tune our particular content management system to work well with Cludo.  The user interface is very well designed and intuitive.  I have no complaints at all.

I do not dislike anything about the software.

Schedule a demo and try it out for yourself.  It's the best way to know if it's the right fit for you!

**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a large website with decades of information, so the site search and insights has been invaluable in finding search terms that users are typing so that we can tailor our content accordingly.    We have been able to use page rankings to spotlight news alerts as well as certain search results we felt would be most beneficial.    And because the interface is so intuitive, we are able to train our Communications division to make tweaks to page rankings and other updates as well.

**What do you like best about Cludo Search?**

Cludo is easy to use - user experience for those administering search service and for end users making searches on our sites was my highest priority. Cludo has been good for both. The search results are good, it was really easy to implement and it has been easy to customize for our needs. 

I've also been really happy with their support. Starting with our initial contact with sales, Cludo was faster to respond and more helpful than the other vendors we were considering. Of course, a good sales experience doesn't always translate into a good experience after the fact but in this case, it did. Their support folks have been fast to respond and very knowledgeable then I've contacted them and our account rep regularly checks in and they periodically do a review of our account with us to suggest how we can improve our search, they go over new features and changes and ask for feedback.

Finally, as a higher ed institution, accessibility was a must have. Cludo was able to answer our questions about accessibility for their product and was the first to get us a VPAT. Many of their competitors didn’t even know what that was.

**What do you dislike about Cludo Search?**

For someone who is using the API - the documentation was accurate but would really benefit from having code examples. Better yet, small proof of concept applications using the API would be great. 

Their support pointed me to some example javascript in one of their Git repos and I was eventually able to figure things out from there. I'm sure a real rockstar js developer or someone who writes code for json APIs on a regular basis could have glanced at the API docs and built from there but I needed a little more handholding to get started. Especially since there aren't (currently) code examples or questions in the usual places online that help someone new who is just getting started on something like this (StackOverflow, GitHub, etc.). 

**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had been paying for Google site search. When we learned that they were discontinuing their paid service, we started looking for other options. At about the same time, we started redesigning our sites and wanted to find a way to build custom search functionality into different sections of our sites. For example, having a filterable search for experts, or one for degree options. We manage the websites for five colleges and numerous centers and institutes, each with their own sites. There are often cases where we need a filterable search on one site that pulls info from other related sites within our institution. Other features that were important to us included accessibility, on-demand indexing, the option to quickly boost or feature results if needed, ease of use (for admins and searchers), cost, great documentation and support.

What I like best is the easy functionality around synonyms and the ability to create custom banners based on search criteria. It offers us good functionality that is very easy to implement.

Working with the Cludo team was very easy and they were very responsive to questions and requests for assistance.

We were utilizing Google Site Search but when that was discontinued we were looking for a solution that was easy to implement and manage. We were able to utilize this platform on multiple language sites and the implementation was very straightforward.  The biggest benefit we realized was reviewing search terms that were returning no results and using that information to update content. There were some very obvious words that we did not have in place which was hurting our search functionality.

The search is highly customisable and allows our customers to find content on our site with ease.

There are no downsides to the product. It constantly progresses to meet the needs of us and our customers

After Google Site Search was discontinued we had to resort to the built-in search of our CMS. This had no customisation and results were often misleading to customers. We now have a search that tells us what customers are searching for and how useful the results are for them.

- Love the recommended content listings that appear when a user starts typing in their search term to the input
- The ability to set preferred content to show when people search certain terms
- Adding CTAs/Banners above the search content, great way to serve up native ads that are connected to search results

- Can take some time to set up depending on your needs, but this is expected, especially if you need something custom
- Wish there was documentation on the embed code. As a developer, it would be really useful when i need to customize small things, rather than going to support

Once google custom search was no longer an option, we were looking for a new tool to use. Cludo looked like a solid alternative that gave us the ability to customize along with metrics so we had a better idea what people were trying to search for on our site.

**What do you like best about Cludo Search?**

Cludo's suite of optimization tools allow us to pick the exact level of search optimization we need, be it awareness banners or quick links, to ensure we are acting on ineffective and no-result searches. Plus, their intelligent 404 page provides contextual alternatives to help point members in the suspected right direction.

**What do you dislike about Cludo Search?**

Predictive search results racks up the search count quickly and can be costly. Be sure to evaluate if this is the right option for you. 

**Recommendations to others considering Cludo Search:**

Work closely with your rep to ensure you get the most from the product. This tool has to be administered and monitored to be effective. It is not an implement and abandon product. 

**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cludo is helping us to increase our bottom line and customer satisfaction. When paired with our website surveys, we can identify where customers are having trouble finding information or where we can reduce the amount of clicks between the homepage and a transaction. We've found search to be better than navigation in most cases.

**What do you like best about Cludo Search?**

The support the Cludo team has provided to us has been excellent. Implementation was a breeze, any further updates have been handled quickly. The search does exactly what we expected it to do. For marketing or technical sites this product works really well. The ability to create filters & tag content is pretty extensive and Cludo has been able to meet all our requirements. 

The admin UI provides great tool to allow conversion impromvents and the banners features is great to allow marketing to extend its reach into a users search journey. 

The extensive tool set to help improve search conversions is fantatsic! 

**What do you dislike about Cludo Search?**

The only fault so far has been our ability to add custom analytics to further track user behaviour. 

However, Cludo has added the banner analytics feature which is a good step forward. 

I don't really have much I dislike about this product at this time. 


**What problems is Cludo Search solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our users had to go to various sites (marketing, docs, community) to be able to get answers to questions or find the right content. We wanted a tool to be able to surface content from any of our sites through one unified search in an onrganized way.

It's not a dislike as such more of something that could be better and that's the layout of the analytics which can be a tad confusing

For a reasonable price, they deliver above and beyond and continue to evolve which is excited as we've heard about what they have in store for future releases. Get in there before they up their prices (with good reason of course). :)

There was some delay getting assistance on a critical component for our marketing automation system. It took about 4 weeks and saying we'd be a reference after we get an answer to indeed get an answer. The response came fairly quickly after that.

Make sure to ask about other customers experiencing similar issues so you can get resolution to problems.

The ability to add banners and ensure the pages we want to appear at the top of the search results for certain keywords.
Automatic search results on 404 pages as well as misspellings, synonyms, quicklinks

It is a fairly expensive product, but well worth the cost

Relevant search results for our customers - the in-built search on our CMS was very poor. Adding Cludo to the site gave us accurate, relevant results, along with the ability to add banners and ensure the pages we want to appear at the top of the search results for certain keywords.

I love how simple the implementation and dashboard are. The developers are very helpful and knowledgeable.

The dashboard could use some work on the data analysis side. Adding more analyzing tools and separating all parts (synonyms and misspellings etc.) by site would be very helpful. Faster crawls would also improve the site.
