The newer user interface in Version 12 was a significant improvement. Most edit views are now drag-n-drop, which are an admin's advantage for quickly creating pages. Plus, not needing to go back and forth from page editor to site directory to preview the page is a time saver.

I like the ability to edit code in Visual Studio and to be able to connect the CMS to many of the 3rd party vendors that we use.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

We use a strictly MVC environment and the eCommerce portion of the CMS doesn't really interface with that very well as it is webforms based.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Do your homework and comparisons with other CMS platforms in this category to make sure Sitefinity is right for you. Make sure you have the proper team in place to keep up with it because Progress is really good about minor and major version releases and you definitely want to stay up-to-date with all the cool new stuff they release.

  ### 17. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kara C. | Web Administrator

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Easy to use. We have several people in our company who don't know html who use sitefinity.
The image library makes finding, resizing, and naming images easy.
When we have an issue or need help with customizing things, someone is usually able to solve the problem.
Navigating and searching the folder structure is easier than before. Before the icons were so small I was frequently clicking on the wrong thing.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I don't use the sitefinity content editor for creating and updating pages. I use dreamweaver and then paste it into the editor window. Maybe that is how it is meant to be used if you have to do more than minor editing. I don't really mind this method but if the content editor was meant to be more useful for all user levels, than that is something to work on.

We've had some problems with bugs in the form editor but it is a lot easier to use than the proprietary forms editor I used before.

Moving files around using "reorder" is a little cumbersome but I think I understand why it is this way. We had some people moving folders around and not understanding it can mess with the navigation.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is easy to create forms and customize them.
Widgets allow us to set up a photo slide show. Something I wouldn't know how to do myself.
We have another content area that shows the files in a file folder on the webpage without us having to add each link to a page. I update that page often.

  ### 18. A CMS to engage, convert and retain your customers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krystyna W. | Golbal HR Delivery Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2021

An intuitive content management system that helps engage audience with desired content with personalized experience. The tool is also responsive and can be setup on all devices. The program feature dynamic content types which allows you to make content that suits best according to your business needs.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The tool have some of the major drawbacks with E-commerce very hard to set-up using the existing rage of this program. The upgrading process is somewhat complicated and require some time to complete. Cloud support is also missing with poor inbuilt and third party SEO.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Very little coding have to be done with a regular software updates. These updates are sometime difficult to manage and apply.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The interface is very attractive with a simple process for content management. The program also allows you to create and save your own temples and layout with drag and drop widgets. Very little coding have to be done with a regular software updates. These updates are sometime difficult to manage and apply.

Be sure to vet your developers. Progress has approved, recommended partners that really know what they're doing.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tasks associated with updating and refreshing no longer fall on the shoulders of one person, they are shared across team members and several departments. This allows for fresher content, faster.

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

To put it simply - it works. Once you get the hang of where things are located, the site does what it is coded to do.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

This is not for a novice IT person or at least someone who doesn't know a thing about websites.

Sitefinity is super easy to use and to teach to users who have never used a CMS before. It makes it easy to employees who are not in IT or regular updaters of the website to be able to go in and use easily.

  ### 34. User Friendly CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Ease of content updates and replacing forms.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Content not appearing properly causing rework.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Sitefinity is a very nice CMS to use. There are some frustrations when updating content where the template seems to get stuck and not apply the update correctly. An example is when using a bullet list and the bullet does not go where I want it, but appends to the top of my content and indents all of my text. This can be frustrating.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Public facing website

  ### 35. One of the most Convenient & Sophisticated CMSs I have come across

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sagar V. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I have worked on quite a few CMSs (CareWorks, SiteCore, BlackBaud,...) of all the ones that I worked on, Sitefinity was the most easy to use CMS. Not to mention,

a. Shared content blocks
b. Conditional Forms
c. Workflows
d. Google Captcha widget for the forms and more.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

1. A few of the Widgets/Modules tend to break after upgrades.
2. Would be nice to have deeper levels of roles/permissions.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of creating forms, pages and templates.

  ### 36. Great .Net CMS platform, but very pricey.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Reliable support when needed and it just works.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Too expensive for most of our clients so it's use is limited.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Good company and platform to work with if building with the .Net Framework.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing a reliable CMS platform for our customers using the .Net framework.

  ### 37. So Far, A Very Expensive Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2020

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

i like the shared content and the ability to update in multiple places.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I dislike that you have to REMEMBER to use the shared content, or in our case remind our vendor. If you don't set it up in a certain way, then it won't work.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Make sure you understand exactly what asset management means. We were sold on it being a DAM and a great tool for what we need and we haven't really seen that yet.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not sure if it's really solving any problems that we currently have or that we've realized any benefits. We moved onto the platform from WordPress and it was to be such a powerful platform that you could do lots of different designs. I think the problem is that we don't do that many crazy things.

  ### 38. Close to a decade of using Sitefinity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Relations | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The ease of use of the CMS and the dashboard. It is very easy for users with varying skill levels to use.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Adding additional functionality isn't as easy as adding WordPress plugins.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

This CMS is much easier to use than Drupal or Joomla, I highly recommend it!

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a solid CMS to run the website for our conference. We were able to utilize several different people on staff with varying skill levels.

  ### 39. Make life easy in managing your website

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Veeramala M. | Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The easy of updating the product when there are updates, and the customization are easy to implement.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

When we push some changes it takes time for the website to warm up.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

This CMS is more flexible and easy to use, you will not move to other CMS after using this.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of making content changes to the website, even a user with no html experience can develop a beautiful looking website.

  ### 40. Good solution for almost any business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wesley S. | Sr. UI Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefinity is easy to set up and configure. Page management and module creation is straight forward and as a developer it is easy to customize. Site syncing between development and production environment is super easy and helpful allowing changes to be created and published for review and approved before being published.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I wish there was more focus on the blogging ability. Seems like a forgotten part of the CMS but many clients often ask for the ability to post blogs and news articles.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

It is easy to get overwhelmed with everything in the admin, but it's pretty straight forward once you understand where things are, what they do and how to work with them.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/A

  ### 41. Creative Design and Responsive Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kishore K. | Full Stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Visual Studio Integration.
Easy develop,Integrate and deploy applications Faster.
Better Customization with UI.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Documentation.
E-Commerce Setup.
Breaks after some Updates

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of making applications with user-friendly cms, which saves development time and efficiency.

  ### 42. Sitefinity Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2016

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

The advancement in multi-site, multi-language and content personalization have been very valuable for us.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

The lack of some documented best practices to protect against inadvertently causing site issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Sitefinity has been the foundation of our website for 8+ years. As they have expanded their product capability and roadmap, we have benefited from it and continue to rely up on it as part of our overall strategic delivery of content.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Sitefinity content personalization capability is allowing us to serve our site visitors in a better way. Rather than treating all visitors the same, we can begin serving up education content, publications, and forms specific to unique actions or profile data.

  ### 43. I like my sites custom

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I can make my own templates, modules and even make items that connect to each other.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

A little clunky sometimes, and the switching between new and old views is frustrating. Everything should work in both.
If you want a custom hero banner you will have to make it outside the page then go into the page and select it. All for something you're going to use once.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a CMS that our clients could use and they didn't need every bell and whistle. There is a level of simplicity once all the programming is done.

  ### 44. Overall Good Experience with Sitefinity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah L. | Communications Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

I like how easy it is to make updates as well keep a consistent look and feel to the whole site.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Not much that I dislike, though I work mainly on the content front end side of the system.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've had Sitefinity as long as I've been with the company, so not sure what problems we had previously that it solved. It seems to be a decent content management system to meet our current needs.

  ### 45. Sitefinity CMS Is The Right Fit

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruben M. | Web Developer, Government Administration, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2017

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Sitefinity is easy to use. The software is very intuitive and the users find it very easy work within the environment.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

Upgrades are no fun, there is always something that does not work as it should.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Sitefinity works great for building websites, it is easy to use.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are delivering content to our customer in a more effective manner. Sitefinity gives us the ability to get creative.

  ### 46. Been a customer for 6 years

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

We have had an excellent experience with Sitefinity, and their support usually answers within 24 hours and faster when high priority. Customizations are limitless. The backend/content builder is easy to use for non developers.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I wish there were more built-in integrations and more ready-to-use (out of the box) widgets and templates available.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our products have many variants; Sitefinity allowed us to build our widgets to display them and integrate them with Sitefinity features.

  ### 47. Sitefinity CMS

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Easy duplication of content blocks and pages and templateing. Ability to update live site instantly.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

There are almost too many features with some quite technical/complex to understand.

**Recommendations to others considering Progress Sitefinity:**

Regular product updates so they are heading in the right direction.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Control of website content. Managing META data to improve organic rankings.

  ### 48. Super extensible .Net Web-CMS Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

It's a good tool for marketing and business users like any CMS, but what I really like about Sitefinity is that our programmers can extend every aspect of the platform in our native stack to customize it to our exact business needs, which are quite unlike standard marketing or wordpress sites that just manage flat content.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

It provides a lot of features out of the box that we simply don't need, and those bring a lot of overhead of extra included javascript files or steps to go through. We had to rip out a handful of the default behavior in order to improve efficiency.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've used it to give our marketing department a free place to roam and control where they can do whatever pages, articles, content, blogs, news, landing pages, or whatever else they want, on top of a platform where our development team can also work and develop our dynamic applications that deliver unique functionality to our users.

  ### 49. Sitefinity Powerful, Clean, and very user friendly CMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divine Grace P. | Applications and Database Services Manager , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

User Interface is very user friendly.
.Net Developers would love this product.

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

-Updates tend to break some Widgets.
-Add calendar events permissions.
-Add Shared Content Block to have Schedule Publish and Unpublish feature.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sitefinity User Interface for Content Editors is very user friendly. It has a clean, simple look and feel that is very easy to navigate.

  ### 50. Fantastic Product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Import and Export | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Progress Sitefinity?**

Easy to use and friendly service. I enjoyed the simplicity

**What do you dislike about Progress Sitefinity?**

I can't see a breakdown of the site revisions.

**What problems is Progress Sitefinity solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team is quickly and easily able to learn the product and perform their duties.
