I like the organization chart in Paycom because it provides a clear view of our company. It helps us see the pathway of who reports to who, such as directors, managers, and even supervisors that report to a manager, which also allows us to make edits within this same view. Annual compensation uploads can be frustrating because many custom fields are not built into the system, limiting their functionality. Reporting is also impacted because the system does not support the change of our time zone in PST, which can result in inaccurate timestamps. Paycom is not allowed to make edits on your behalf, so if there are any issues, you are required to work with your assigned Paycom specialist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Some of the problems that Paycom solve is good and safe security access, navigation, time management, and easy updates. The benefit myself in many’s ways like reminding myself through notifications cause sometimes I become busy and forget. Secondly navigation, the helps me to find some in look for easy just in case I need to update information or need a paystub for something etc. Lastly time management, this one is very important to me simply because with me having a busy schedule sometimes I forget certain things so the notifications that comes to my phone and my email really do help me personally. I can most times look at my check and verify its accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Paycom? Over the years you have mad the user experience better but its still a far cry from a pleasant one. Sight maps and where to go to do what is trash. Not being able to acknowledge shit and move on with me day is irritating tasks that are completed dont reflect that I can ignore it or do it again. When yall optimize something it just means we have to relearn it or figure out how you screwed it up and have to create a work around. The software does the job but not always to the benefit of the user. Its often a 5 minute job that takes 20 minutes to complete. If you want to have a good application then only ever ask people with a minimum of experience with it or none you asking admins how they like it is like asking a pro how do we make this so only I can use it. I love the ease of use of Paycom. I can access it easily either on my phone or computer at work. I will admit that some functions took a bit of getting used to (like remembering to log off after punching in to avoid duplicate punches), but I find it really effective now. CFO Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) 10/3/2025 "Two years in and It is not perfect" 3/5 What do you like best about Paycom? Paycom does bring value in certain areas. The system makes it relatively simple to pull payroll reports and access data when needed, which allows me to step in and assist our payroll administrator at any time. Reporting capabilities are helpful, even if not perfect, and provide visibility into important payroll statistics. Another major positive has been our current payroll specialist, who is highly responsive and knowledgeable—an important improvement after previously experiencing turnover and unresponsiveness with other specialists. Over time, benefits administration has also stabilized and now runs more smoothly than it did at the beginning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Paycom? Despite its positives, Paycom has several significant limitations. The sales process set unrealistic expectations, promising features that ultimately did not exist. Implementation was rushed, with incomplete or incorrect setup that payroll specialists later had to fix. Reporting, while available, is not as comprehensive as needed. Many reports lack key fields, requiring frequent tweaks from our specialist, and development requests rarely progress. Functionally, Paycom is not a complete payroll and HR solution. We still rely on our old payroll system for certain functions Paycom cannot handle, which forces us to operate in two systems to ensure documentation and compliance. Several HR-related areas are particularly weak: tracking continuing education is cumbersome, document access control is limited, employee performance evaluations are not well supported, and in-house training and CEU tracking are difficult to manage. Perhaps most concerning, Paycom cannot accommodate workers’ compensation—an essential part of HR—leaving a large gap in capability. In addition, the system’s design is clunky and unintuitive. Navigation requires moving through multiple areas to find tools, and it is often unclear what impact a selection will have without specialist assistance. While some areas have improved over time, the overall experience has been one of ongoing struggles and workarounds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
