What do you like best?

Cisco Jabber is similar to the daily messaging apps which makes it very convenient to use. In addition to the desktop app it is also available as a mobile app. It is very easy to schedule group meetings through jabber and it also is integrated with the outlook calendar. Jabber also provides the flexibility to create group chats which reduces the number of team emails to a great extent. It has been one of the apps which increases team collaboration to a great extent and also increases efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

One of the limitations of cisco jabber when compared to other business messaging and meeting solutions app is that it does not have any feature where a team can create online channel to share files. Also, sometimes we need to connect to our VPN to start with the calling and meeting functionality which can sometimes be frustrating if the internet connection is weak. Overall if a person is looking for a meeting solutions and team collaboration app where they also need to share files than they can opt for other competitors Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Some of the business problems we have managed to solve with Cisco Jabber are:

1. It increases team collaboration by creating group chats

2. It has certainly increased time efficiency by decreasing the time allocated for writing team emails

3. It has an integrated calling feature where you can forward your calls even to your mobile phones

4. It also tightly integrates the business calendar which makes it very easy to keep a track of the meetings Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

What I like best about Cisco Jabber is that it is simple and very straightforward. It almost reminds me of AOL or AIM and I would consider it to be the business equivalent of that in terms of user interface and appearance. Like other communication programs, I like you can instantly message your colleagues or associates who also use this service. My company has it set up to where every employee has an account and I can easily search from within the program to find that employee's Jabber account. One of my favorite features so far is the ability to connect Jabber to my office phone and make calls from within Jabber to customers or colleagues. This is especially helpful during the work from home situation as I do not feel comfortable calling customers from my personal home or cell phone. I also like that Cisco Jabber has seamlessly integrated with another Cisco software called WebEx meetings and with Microsoft Outlook as well. Jabber sends me reminders to upcoming meetings on WebEx which I know has saved me the embarrassment of being late to an online meeting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I think the video and audio quality could be a little better during meetings and calls. It's good but not great. For this reason, I don't prefer to use Cisco Jabber for meetings as often and opt to use Cisco WebEx meetings instead. I also think they can afford to touch up the interface a little bit. While I do like the simplicity of it, it can seem a bit boring or dreary (all gray appearance). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The problems that Cisco Jabber is solving is that I can instantly communicate with peers and work colleagues. I can make phone calls to customers or coworkers. I can use it to share my screen or host conference meetings. It's basically like an instant communication platform with the ability to do much more! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cisco Jabber integrates my phone into my computer so I am able to access everything from the office right at home, making the switch to working from home much easier. It is easy as well to chat and get questions answered quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Set expectations for employees to use it immediately. It can be difficult when some are not utilizing it when needing to send Instant Messages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have an entire company working from home and need to be accessible. With Jabber, employees can answer phone calls, manage their voicemails and communicate with others internally. Now, instead of going to someone's office to get a question answered, we can just drop them a quick IM. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It's fast. I mean for boot up and as an instant messaging it is good. It's audio and video quality is good. One strong plus point is that it works well with an average internet connection.

It integrates well with other services. I use it frequently with Webex and it works perfectly. Also good integration with outlook.

frequent updates are also there which gives some fresh looks or features once in a while.

I like its screen sharing most. It is better than the other tools I use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It does not preserve the messages. Once you close the window, all the messages are gone. So if something important information exchange is done in Jabber you will have to make notes somewhere else.

It freezes a lot. I see it freeze at least once a day or in a couple of days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's great for people working in remote areas. Half of my team sits in Germany and another half in India. So we need tools to connect with each other and exchange information. Screen sharing is often needed and Jabber proved helpful in these areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The best feature of jabber is the Mobile remote access. Being able to get work calls on your cell phone using the app is very useful. It is a very reliable piece of software. Jabber is also a very user friendly piece of software. We use a software repository so installing the software on users computers is extremely easy and straightforward. Supporting the expressway servers that support the MRA feature is somewhat easy. Upgrading the software on the expressways is pretty straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The Initial setup required to enable the Mobile remote access feature is difficult. Initially setting up jabber could be a little difficult if you are not very familiar with cisco call manager. Also software updates are not automatic for the clients. You for the cell phone users they have to manually update the software from the app store. For the desktop clients we have to manually have our end user support personal create an installation package each time a new version of jabber is released. Then they have to upload it to the software repository. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were preventing issues like toll fraud using this system. Enabling MRA allowed us the ability to stop paying for work cell phones, thus decreasing some of our overall expenses. We are also enabling users to have access to the enterprise phone system whenever it is needed. The sales department loves this feature because sometimes they are not always at their desk and this feature allows them not to miss important sales calls. There has also been some cost savings.
