"Excellent Online Auctioning"

What do you like best?

For our charity auction, we used 501 Auctions and opened it to the public for the first time this Spring. As an administrator of the software, I was immediately impressed by the data it was able to display. We could see which items had the most bids already and which items has zero bids. We were even able to have “teaser” items which were visible online but only biddable to those in attendance at our event. Overall I found it very user-friendly and hope our charity uses a 501 Auction software in the future.

What do you dislike?

What I did not like about this software was the layout of the report we received after the event. With previous auction software, it was very easy to review how well the auction did, which items were winners and which ones were duds. It felt like we had to search through this report on our own without having very helpful titles. We loved the software itself, and specifically, compiling items into categories and so on, but the reports we received at the end of the auction left us wanting more.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were able to easily upload photos and item descriptions from multiple Administrator accounts which made it much easier than software we’ve used in the past that only allowed one user to make changes. We also found it to be highly streamlined by using the Excel upload function as close to the final list as possible, then enter the last-minute stragglers as they came. This software seemed to save a lot of time and planning effort as compared to other auction softwares our charity has tried.

"The auction company you want at your event"

What do you like best?

The 501 staffing resources are unbeatable. The online platform works great for check-out and following up on pledges after your event. Onsite, 501 has the personnel to effectively train your volunteers and to run a flawless live auction or pledge moment.

What do you dislike?

It's an all-in-one price that includes the website and back-end, which makes sense because the back-end is where you do the financial summaries, guest check-out, and followup, however a la cart pricing would be helpful for charities using custom arrangements (such as ours, which uses Salesforce as our main data hub). Still, the price is reasonable enough to warrant using 501 for your auction needs, even if you don't need the front-end website.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Consider hiring auctioneer CK Swett to run your event. He's great at what he does, and knows the people at 501 Auctions so your event can go as smoothly as possible!

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

501 solves capacity limitations in staff and volunteering, so we can run a large event within the existing staff structure. 501 customer service ans support is *always* available, no matter the hour or day. Whenever we need something related to the online platform or customer followup, they are incredibly responsive.

"Over all great Platform"

What do you like best?

I really like the functionality. It was very easy to use and I was able to navigate without any extensive training. Sometimes other platforms can get a little convoluted.

What do you dislike?

I personally thought it was well build, I just don't I can use it for my company since their weren't many items Ii would be looking for and in turn i'm not sure their would be any interested buyers in the higher end products I would be looking to sell.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I think once the user base increases, this will be an awesome platform and I would definitely come back to check out how it has grown in the future. Looking forward to new updates.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

On the staging side of homes we are trying to buy and sell different furniture to make our homes for visibly appealing to potential home buyers.

"Great Customer Service!"

What do you like best?

We have used 501 Auctions for 2 years, and the customer service is great. Our rep is quick to answer our questions and was great to work with on the evening of the event. She jumped on all the calls we had asked to and was helpful and friendly while working with us. We are very glad we have used 501 Auctions.

What do you dislike?

There is not much about this platform that we dislike. Customer service is amazing, the platform is easy to use and funds go directly into our account periodically. We do enjoy working with 501.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use 501 Auctions for our annual Gala, including ticket purchases, sponsorships, silent and live auctions and our "Golden Ticket" Game. It's a lifesaver for us during our heavy event season.

"Intuitive Fundraising and Event Software"

What do you like best?

Intuitive features and helpful staff. The software seems to capture all the small details of fundraising and mobile bidding at an event and the back end side is easy to utilize the data. Check-in is a breeze using this as well.

What do you dislike?

There weren't a ton of drawbacks to using 501, I thought the staff was very attentive. Sometimes the connection at the venue could cause some issues, but that's not an issue with 501.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Using 501 Auctions was a way to manage and streamline online bidding and fundraising at an event for a non-profit. The staff gives great tutorials to your volunteers which is helpful and the software is rarely if ever glitchy, which can be a big problem with other software.

"Great Product for Small Not-for-Profits"

What do you like best?

501 Auctions was fantastic for my agency fundraisers. It not only helped us with the actual auction but helped to create anticipation and excitement for each event with their online software. Our attendees were able to view auction items prior to the event & then could also place bids on items in real-time during the event - even without attending. The software is great in terms of being able to really capture the most amount for auction items without hounding or needing to do any "live" auctioneering.

What do you dislike?

There wasn't much to not like when it came to 501. The software can be a little tricky because of all the great features, but if you work with them to get help, they are eager to introduce you and teach you how to make the most of your experience.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Give it a try. It's a great way to manage your auction items and to remain in steady contact with those willing to give you their money.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Since our use of the product was to help raise funds for our agency, the main benefit was to be able to really focus on mingling at events, while still ensuring funds were raised through our auction items. As a small agency, it can be difficult to balance both engaging with donors and visitors on an unmeasurable level while also ensuring that the tangible elements are getting the most money. 501 helps that amazingly.

I have nothing negative to say about this auction fundraising software.
