I start using Creately for simple diagrams, but it quickly becomes useful for a lot more than that: API flows, internal process maps, architecture diagrams, UML, technical customer journeys, and visual documentation to explain changes before we build them. I can start from a template, drag a few elements around, connect the different parts of the system, and have something clear enough to share with the team pretty quickly. The templates and smart shapes save me a lot of time because I do not have to start from a blank canvas or spend too much time making the diagram look clean. I have a good experience with Creately because it does what I need it to do: create diagrams quickly, collaborate visually, and make complex ideas easier to explain. Before development even starts, product is thinking about the user flow, backend is focused on events, frontend is considering screen states, and support wants to know what happens when something fails. We open Creately and map out the entire flow: what happens when the user starts the action, which service receives the request, what validations run, which errors can appear, and what message the user should see in each case. Halfway through the session, we often spot an intermediate state where the user could be left waiting without knowing whether the process failed or is still pending. Catching that early lets us adjust the design before writing any code, so we avoid building an incomplete experience. That’s where Creately becomes genuinely useful for me: it doesn’t just help us draw what we already know, it helps us uncover the parts of the workflow we haven’t fully thought through yet. Before Creately, our project planning was scattered — endless spreadsheets, disconnected tools, and no single source of truth for the team. Creately brought everything together in one visual workspace, making it easy to see the full picture of any project at a glance. Integrations have been a huge win for us. The Jira and Confluence integration in particular means we're not constantly switching between tools — our diagrams and project plans stay connected to the work actually being tracked, which keeps everything consistent and saves a ton of time. UX is where Creately really shines day-to-day. The interface is clean and intuitive enough that new team members can jump in without a steep learning curve, and the real-time collaboration makes planning sessions feel effortless rather than chaotic. Support has been solid too. We've rarely needed to reach out directly because the documentation is thorough and well-organized — most questions can be answered quickly with a quick search, which is exactly what a busy team needs. Creately is still easy to use, smooth for my college work, and it is a really reliable tool. It hasn't gotten worse, so that's why i use it, and it is really good. Premiums plans are still really expensive for students, and they don't have any plan for indian students to try, for example Gemini provides 1 yearr free subscription for Indian Students.
