Eliminating paper and pen silent auctions has literally ended the last minute arguments that used to "season" the atmosphere of some of our events; popcorn bidding at the end of an auction ensures the charity still receives the highest amount someone is willing to spend! This is the second year we have used Charity Auctions Today for our silent auction. Charity Auctions Today has definitely given us the option to reach beyond to the people who are unable to attend the actual event and to try different things. The downside is the closeout process. While simple and easy, it is difficult to closeout without a hitch. There also isn't help onsite-- you can pay to have remote help via phone call but sometimes it can feel like you're alone during the actually auction process and it can be intimidating. The pricing structure (free + processing fees) made it more cost effective for us as well. Customer service was very helpful in setting up the auction and answering questions as we went along.
