What problems is Inriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

Inriver replaced our legacy content management solution. We've improved speed to market on new products by nearly 70% and with their new AI features, we're able to curate attributes more efficiently and accurately across our categories of sale. Taking on a new product line used to take weeks to months and we've reduced that to hours and days for larger onboardings with Inriver. What do you like best about Inriver?

What I appreciate most about InRiver is how resourceful the platform is. The learning platform is very intuitive, and the user interface itself is extremely user-friendly. Whenever I need guidance or encounter any issues with a particular process, the support team is always available to assist. Our account managers have played a crucial role in helping us secure buy-in for our PIM initiatives and have guided us in using the PIM according to best practices. What do you dislike about Inriver?

There’s very little I dislike about InRiver, as the PIM is highly adaptable to specific use cases. While I do find the control center somewhat confusing at times, I’ve always been able to resolve any issues with assistance from the InRiver team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Inriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

InRiver is assisting us in establishing a single source of truth for our product information, making it possible to seamlessly share accurate data with our partners. Once this process is complete, our customers will benefit from reliable and precise information, which should help prevent product issues during installation and avoid delays in obtaining utility approval caused by incorrect details circulating in the field. Looking ahead to phase 2, we plan to implement the print feature, which will significantly accelerate my workflow. Currently, I manage over 32 catalogs, each ranging from 60 to 150 pages, entirely by hand. With the introduction of this new feature, the time I spend editing these catalogs will be greatly reduced. The main challenge we’ve encountered with inRiver is the syndication of data to major e-commerce partners such as Amazon, Wayfair, and other large retailers. While the platform excels at organizing and customizing product data internally, the process of pushing that data out to external channels can feel limited or cumbersome. Additional built-in tools or smoother integrations for large-scale syndication would make the platform even stronger and better aligned with the needs of modern e-commerce workflows. inRiver is helping us centralize and standardize all of our product data, which has significantly reduced inconsistencies across teams and platforms. By keeping everything in one place, it has streamlined our internal processes and made updates far more efficient. InRiver serves as a central hub for our product data, which primarily originates from our ERP system and is further enriched by our marketing teams, before reaching our customers and websites. We rely on it to supply our Shopify stores, distribute product information to customers through Excel exports, and share data via GDSN from GS1. Our GDSN datapool is updated automatically through an integrated interface. I like how accessible our data feels. The query editor makes searching for very specific data points fast, and simplifies generating relevant reports. Inriver's greatest strength can also be it's Achilles heel. The amount of flexibility the tool offers gives teams free reign to configure to their heart's desire which sometimes means we push the system to do things it's not meant to support. These would be more so suggestions rather than dislikes. I would love to have more automated syndication options, such as monthly or biweekly, rather than only weekly.
