Transitioning to ADP TotalSource has been one of the best decisions we’ve made to simplify and strengthen our HR operations. By taking on the heavy administrative work—payroll, onboarding, compliance, and many of the manual day-to-day tasks—ADP TotalSource has allowed us to shift our focus to what really matters: engaging with our employees and supporting their growth. With less time spent on administrative burdens, our team can devote energy to performance reviews, employee development, and creating a workplace culture that inspires and retains talent. ADP ensures that onboarding and payroll are accurate and seamless, which builds trust and sets a positive tone for every employee experience. This year’s migration was my third time moving a company to ADP TotalSource, and each time the process has been consistently smooth and professional. What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource? I really love ADP TotalSource and overall have had a great experience with it. One thing I would love to see improved is the ability to add contractors and other employees who are not on ADP payroll. Other PEOs allow you to do this, and it would be great to have all of our employee and contractor data in one place instead of having to track it separately. The other area that could use some improvement is the response time when there are tax issues. Sometimes it can take a long time to get a response or get an issue resolved. Tax issues are usually time sensitive, so having a way to get those addressed more quickly would be really helpful. Overall, I really do love TotalSource. Since ADP TotalSource houses many functions in one platform, it can sometimes be tricky to navigate, trying to figure out what is housed where, and require many clicks to find what you need. The biggest issue that ADP TotalSource is solving revolves around managing personal goal tracking. Before utilizing ADP TotalSource, my organization used a manual, multi-file process for creating and storing employee goals. This did not allow for my human resource colleagues to monitor progress of employee goals and it was difficult to standardize goals and goal formatting across the organization. Since implementing ADP TotalSource, my goals can be created, monitored, and stored year over year in one place so I can reference and update them anytime. ADP TotalSource is a great benefit to my company, especially as we only have one HR person. The support of our Executive Account Rep. is phenomenal and has been critical to our business for the past 5 years now. THey have helped us through many employee relation items, ADP supports us with UI claims, Workers Comp, the recruiting tool is very easy. The plans are competitively priced, giving our employees access to high-quality coverage while helping us manage costs as a smaller organization. Whenever questions come up, the support team is responsive and works collaboratively to help us find solutions. What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource? The biggest area for improvement is customer support. While there are some excellent individuals on the team, the overall experience can be inconsistent. I've found that the quality and accuracy of the guidance often depends on who I happen to speak with, and it's not uncommon to receive different answers to the same question from different representatives. I would also appreciate a more proactive partnership. Rather than simply responding to issues as they arise, I'd like to see more strategic guidance, clearer ownership of complex cases, and stronger subject matter expertise. As an experienced HR leader, there have been times when I've had to research and validate information myself because the support provided wasn't as knowledgeable or consistent as I expected. As the sole HR professional supporting a growing, multi-state workforce, having everything in one place saves me a significant amount of time and reduces the administrative burden of managing multiple vendors. The biggest benefit has been the support for multi-state employment. ADP helps us navigate state-specific payroll taxes, employment requirements, and compliance considerations, allowing me to focus more on strategic HR initiatives instead of spending hours researching regulations or managing manual processes. More plan offerings for health insurance. Better tracking of tax payments. ADP covers a lot of areas in general, but the support is very basic and it's difficult to get experienced support. Getting help requires a lot of patience and causes many headaches and often leaves me feeling like I'm explaining the person helping me on how to do their job.
