Several teams can use UGC platforms for different purposes. These platforms help marketing and design teams source and organize UGC more efficiently. Marketing teams can decide how best to use UGC for marketing purposes, and design and creative teams can use the UGC to create marketing collateral. UGC-based marketing material helps build a community around the brand in order to strengthen brand awareness and loyalty. Product teams can use UGC software to evaluate user sentiment and direct product focus. UGC platforms can assist legal teams with securing rights to redistribute UGC by sending out messages to content owners. UGC platforms drastically cut down the time marketing teams need to search for user-generated content manually. Because UGC is repurposed for marketing purposes, these tools also help cut down time spent creating in-house marketing content while spotlighting engaging, real-life use cases.

UGC platforms integrate with digital signage software, e-commerce platforms, and web content management software to create static or live feeds of user-generated content. In addition to social networks, UGC tools may be able to pull content from video hosting software.
