What do you like best about Xero?

I like that it’s so user-friendly once you get the hang of it, and that it helps non-accounting-savvy people (like me) easily keep track of their books and finances. Especially for a sole proprietor like myself, it makes it so easy to implement and integrate into my weekly and daily business routines. Each week, 1-2 times per week, I log into Xero, reconcile all the transactions in my accounts and cards, and can rest easy knowing that my records are done, clean, and accurate! What do you dislike about Xero?

The only downsides about Xero is that the the user interface is a little clunky, not as sleek. There also could be more tutorials or "help" features to make onboarding and getting used to the program easier. Though of course I haven't consulted much of the customer support, so I'm sure they would be more than happy to help me walk through any issues or questions I have! What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?

Xero takes so much of the stress of bookkeeping and accounting for sole proprietors away! Before Xero, I was up to my neck in spreadsheets and computer folders keeping track of my income, who I was paid by, what expenses I had made, etc. Now it's all automatically accumulated in my Xero dashboard, where I know that - with the press of a few "reconcile" buttons, I can easily keep my records clean. I cannot wait for tax time next year, when I'll just be able to run a few reports and input data, rather than spending hours calculating expenses and write-offs! What do you like best about NetSuite?

What I like most about NetSuite is that it brings everything together in one place. Rather than juggling separate tools for accounting, inventory, CRM, and reporting, it all runs within a single system. That makes day-to-day work smoother and saves a lot of time.

Another standout for me is the real-time visibility. I can quickly check financials, track orders, or review performance without having to wait for reports to be generated, which makes it easier to make faster, more informed decisions.

I also appreciate how customizable it is. As business needs change, you can adjust workflows, dashboards, and reports without having to switch to a completely different system. What do you dislike about NetSuite?

One thing I don’t like about NetSuite is that it can feel pretty complex, especially for new users. The interface isn’t always very intuitive, so it takes a while to get comfortable and really understand how everything works.

Another drawback is the cost. For smaller businesses, it can be quite expensive—not only the subscription, but also the implementation and customization. It’s simply not always the most budget-friendly option.

I’ve also found that some customizations and reports can be tricky to set up without technical help. At times you need external support or a specialist, which can slow progress and make changes take longer than expected.

One of the biggest problems NetSuite solves for me is reporting and overall data visibility. Before, pulling reports was time-consuming, and the information I needed was often scattered across different systems or buried in spreadsheets. Because of that, it was difficult to get a clear, real-time view of how the business was performing.

With NetSuite, reporting feels much more streamlined. I can generate real-time reports whenever I need them, without having to wait on someone else or manually compile data from multiple places. The dashboards are especially useful because they provide a quick snapshot of key metrics all in one place.

It also makes customization easier. I can tailor reports to specific requirements, which helps me get more meaningful insights rather than just generic data. This has improved decision-making, since I can rely on information that’s accurate and up to date.

I really appreciate how easy it is to navigate Stampli. Its setup provides a very user-friendly experience when reviewing invoices. The information is presented clearly and is straightforward to follow. I also found the initial setup process to be very quick, which was a big plus for me. Navigating the viewing features is simple, and I like that you can download or print documents directly from the review page.

The Dashboards and reports page is another valuable aspect for business use. Having all the information consolidated in one place makes searching for and locating what you need incredibly easy.

Customer support is excellent as well. The team is always available and quick to assist, making it easy to reach out whenever you need help. They are dedicated to resolving any issues effectively and efficiently.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoy using Stampli for business invoicing. I use this software daily and have become very proficient with it. Very simple to integrate and set up. The solution comes with complete and very clear documentation. I have dealt with the customer service of the solution several times via their online chat in the dashboard for various elements that I hadn't necessarily understood well: they have always been able to meet my expectations.

We use Paddle Billing very regularly to manage our monetary transactions.

We have had difficulties in properly customizing the customer experience through the various checkouts provided: notably the overlay checkout, which is not really customizable (apart from the text color). The calendar is buggy and it doesn't offer me the option of seeing all the calendars of the whole office at the same time. I coordinate the schedule and I need to see everyone's availability. They were fine for a number of years but things dramatically changed this year. With one day notice they changed their processing timelines from 1 day to 3 days. They then had a series of errors that extended the 3 day fund hold to 6 days. They have done a terrible job of communicating, have been combative, and have turned into an awful partner. They are also, with no notice, instituting burdensome rules that I have not seen from other processors and offering no justification for those rules. My guess is that they had a major fraud incident. What do you dislike about ZipBooks?

The basic version only carries bery basic needs for keeping track. Specially if you run agency with multiple project cost centres, the subscription becomes quite expensive Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Zipbooks is quite friendly and intuitive. They have excellent interface making accounting easy. As a trained book keeper, first time making entries is easy ( a bit repetitive though, but still simple to use). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mercury?

Mercury provides a clean and modern interface for managing U.S. startup finances. The onboarding process is straightforward, and the product integrates well with many tools that early-stage companies use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mercury?

Mercury may not be a good fit for founders who do any meaningful work internationally. My account was closed despite the company being a legitimate U.S. LLC with an EIN and a U.S. mailing address. The only unusual factor appeared to be that part of my work involves one international business address.

The closure happened quickly and without any opportunity to resolve the issue. For founders building global companies, that kind of uncertainty without opportunity for manual review makes financial planning extremely difficult.

Many startups today operate with distributed teams or founders who spend time abroad. Based on my experience, founders with any international operations should review Mercury’s policies carefully before relying on it as their primary banking platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For founders operating primarily in the United States, Mercury simplifies tasks like opening a business account, managing payments, and connecting financial tools without needing to visit a bank branch.
