## Paddle Reviews
 ### 1. Paddle saved my business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** hari l. | Founder & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle is great, everything from customer support to onboarding was easy to use. They ensured we were up and running within a few days.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The verification process can be improved, especially for non-English documents.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us integrate payment features where we have limited options. We could never have launched an international product if Paddle didn't exist.

 ### 2. Good experience overall

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

It's stable
No big bugs
Clear documentation
Support via chat
Chargeback protection

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Support takes a long time to respond
AI support rarely helps
Could use more statistics: country, region, full transactions a day, new subscriptions etc.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle counts taxes for us, and I can manage subscriptions (refund, cancel, deactivate). Also, invoicing and automatic billing.

 ### 3. Lifesaver for small businesses

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle is an excellent resource for small companies/individuals to sell online digital goods worldwide. Paddle takes care of the heavy lifting when it comes to collecting sale tax and processing payments to sell software. As a small company this saves time allowing us to focus on supporting our customer and building great products. We use Paddle almost every day for all of our online orders!

The platform is relatively easy to use and set up/integrate for basic sales. Some niche scenarios can be a little tricky, but support has been able to assist with questions.

They’re always adding new features, which makes the platform even better over time and being able to invoice AND provide a checkout on our website is helpful for different scenarios.

It’s easy to get help, but some responses take longer than expected. Having a support team in the US would alleviate some of this as part of the delay is due to time zones (the team being in Europe). Support quality overall is good and our issues get resolved in a reasonable manner.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Areas for improvement: the ability send paid invoice confirmation to customers from our dashboard, invoice payments to show up in the transaction log when cleared, ability to send auto invoice reminders for payment, ability to manually block certain transactions via checkout based on criteria to avoid chargebacks, quicker support response times, and lower fees (especially on higher ticket sales).

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us provide accurate and meaningful billing/checkout to our customers for our software.

 ### 4. Incredible Tool for Billing Automation

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Automations of cleint billing using peddle being absolutely helpful against my international client and contractors.
Digital Billing to payment gateway s integration works amazingly.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Have had no problem with peddle to call out here

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Subscriptions management of own sites and client business.

 ### 5. Quick Responses

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I've been dealing with new tasks given to me regarding pricing plans and logistics for our company, and Paddle (profit well) customer support has been invaluable in making it easy.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

In my use, I haven't encountered any issues to have a dislike

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it's helping keep users that may have failed payments update to date and also letting users know they can upgrade if they need more features then they have

 ### 6. its best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** dheeraj i. | Learning Support Team, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

We usually use it to request invoices and refunds, and it's been a very useful tool and easy to access.
Even the support team of Paddle is very quick in resolving his issue.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Even when we request support usual paddle team is quick in resolving, but it takes almost 20 hours,
I wish the resolution time were a little down.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

helping us with all the billing and invoice issues in servicenow

 ### 7. They resolved a problem that i had with all the other MoR in 1 day

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Easy to set up, reliable and fast to respond to requests and special requests.

It just works

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

I don’t like that I have to wait for manual website approval to setup payments in a new app we develop.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle is solving fraud detection, tax for foreign states all over the world.

 ### 8. Paddle helps us stay global tax compliant without the overheads

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pratik G. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Product is good. Checkout is seamless. The tech stack is easy to setup and use. Recommended for anyone who wants to setup tax compliant SaaS solution.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

They being an MOR now no longer care about the SaaS companies TOS and will refund anyone who comes asking for a refund. Their pricing is also quite on an expensive side.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle offers an end to end solution for MOR and tax compliance. We don't have to worry about being non compliant and facing litigation.

 ### 9. Better After ProfitWell Acquisition

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bernardo C. | CEO Fundador, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

The Billing API is very better than the old API, but can improve. The JS checkout is also very fascinating and easy to implement. The Inline version I does not use yet.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The Paddle Billing dashboard is still basic, considering it is a new version yet. I think they could improve it with more dashboards such as purchases segmented by country. Also, in the API, add the feature to add prepaid credit, and an option for the customer to register a fallback credit card.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

International software sales. With Paddle, I can sell to different countries with a touch of magic. Australia, Brazil, USA, it doesn't matter, it all works.

 ### 10. I always got back from paddle whenever I needed assistance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabrial F. | Customer Success Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Changing billing date. Something that was missing in previous version and had to manually request support for this , is now a few step process.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

They don’t show cancellation date( date user cancelled) it only shows the date at which subscription has cancelled or will cancel.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They handle disputes, which is their biggest pro I’d say

 ### 11. Paddle offers a seamless transaction experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anup K. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I've been using Paddle for a while now and it has enhanced our selling and transaction operations tremendously. The customers find the platform they present to be rather comfortable and robust as they are able to consolidate tax, payment and compliance obligations within one tool rather than several. Any changes require immediate internal intervention, which is both thorough and helpful to any arising problems or inquiries. The session ended with an expression of appreciation to the guests for all the attention to detail and additional functions that aim to enhance their service. And if you’re looking for a Merchant of Record that will simplify much of the mess technology transfers, one such company is Paddle and I suggest you check them out.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

While Paddle does a good job of facilitating transactions, there are areas that can be improved in terms of support responsiveness.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle acts as a Merchant of Record which removes the headaches associated with global transactions. This is advantageous since VAT, sales tax, and payment processing are all available on one platform, hence minimizing the administrative requirements for businesses. For me, this means I can devote more time to growing the business and spending less on unnecessary paperwork. Apart from this, Paddle has some insights as well as analytics which help in making such decisions which enhance the operability of the business further.

 ### 12. Would recomment for indie hackers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Preet J. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I like that they are supported in countries other than USA and also available in 3rd world countries.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Late customer support replies and it takes time to verify a new domain, some domain names might get rejected. But if you have a legal business or SaaS then most probably you will get your domain approved.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have to worry about taxes when accepting payments from around the globe.

 ### 13. Super Cool and easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

The fast and responsive support team is the highlight of using Paddle. Whenever I’ve had an issue, the turnaround time has been quick, and the answers are clear and helpful. The platform itself is simple to navigate, making it easy to manage subscriptions and payments without unnecessary complexity.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Webhook handling can sometimes feel rigid and requires extra effort to customize for unique workflows. The documentation is good, but I would love to see more flexibility and developer-friendly features in the integration process.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Subscription handling is automated across various countries with built-in tax support.

 ### 14. Efficient and Supportive Verification Process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebaz R. | Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle's support team is amazing! They responded quickly and made the verification process smooth and hassle free. Super friendly and helpful great experience overall

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

I don’t have any major dislikes, but the web portal could be improved to function more like an SPA. avoiding full-page reloads and maintaining scroll position for a smoother experience.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle simplifies global payments, tax handling, and compliance, allowing me to focus on building my product without worrying about complex financial processes.

 ### 15. Reliable payment processor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Our sales rep (Aaron)

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

slow support responses
systems integration process

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MOR, payment success in LATAM

 ### 16. Paddle is the Go-To MoR (Merchant of Record).

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle is just a bundle of perfectness. It's Developer Experience is up to par with Stripe, the fees are low compared to other MoR offerings, and there have never been any issues for me in terms of ease of use. Their support is also great, I have personally received assistance with a technical issue I had while testing and integrating the client-side helper.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The price is good when compared to other MoR offerings, but in total, I dislike that there is this high 50c fee on every transaction, no matter how large. If you personally get in touch with them, you can reduce your rate to a plain 10% for purchases under 10$, but I think that should be included from the get-go.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a one-person business, and managing VAT compliance for all the countries my users are in is would be just straight up not worth it. It's way easier to just accept the (little) higher fees when compared to Stripe, and not have to worry about VAT at all, because it's a complicated mess with all the different jurisdictions.

 ### 17. Paddle Merchant of Record Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Ease of integration, great customer support

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Sometimes the time to get a response to a dev question takes a bit longer than expected

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Processing payments, collecting and filing taxes as a MOR.

 ### 18. Easy-to-use, great interface

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle was super easy to get going with. They make all their Ts&Cs really clear and their support service is really good.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

There could be more help documentation with a variety of examples of each type of scenario.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle manages my tax collection internationally

 ### 19. Solves Merchant of Record issues; payment collections can be improved.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle acts as Merchant of Record, so we do not have to spend time in managing sales tax applicable in multiple countries. A valuable solution for any SaaS platform that serves globally.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

- While invoice creation, sales tax administration is solved well, we end up wasting a lot of time on payment collections.
- They do not send invoice reminders, it is a paid feature with some subscription of third party tool. We have do manual follow-ups, what a waste of time!
- The end customer receives invoices from Paddle branding, so customers do not recognize they are our invoices and they get ignored. We have to reach out to them and inform. If the email invoices get white-labelled, it would be a huge time saver (and trust builder).
- Paddle support can be improved. It takes many hours for them to respond.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a SaaS platform with customers presence globally. Paddle provides a subscription and invoicing solution, where we do not have to spend time on tax collection and settlement that are applicable in different countries and states in the US.

 ### 20. Good developer experience and cost-effective

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Apratibha R. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2024

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I never implemented payment system before. Paddle was easy to setup and they have detailed resources for developers. I also received fast support from them regarding my account problem. Lastly, they have a reasonable charge for their product compared to competitors.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

There is no straightforward way to transfer setup from sandbox account to production account. More flexible payout options would be better.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle efficiently adds subscription payment and managment features to my SaaS. Their ecosystem is well setup for all possible needs regarding payment and checkout.

 ### 21. My account was blocked but restored after appeal (updated)

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilya S. | Co-Founder, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Their API, interface is good, they have a lower overall commission than alternatives.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Onboarding process.
They had a round of mass-closing SaaS. Some had customers, subscriptions, no chargebacks, went through their extensive verifications but were blocked regardless. The AUP was updated later and it seems like they cannot share reasons with everyone due to PCI. However they unblocked my account after a third email, so I'm updating this review.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transactions processing internationally

 ### 22. Great value software for the cost. Perfect for SMBs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

They are really easy to use and does exactly what's advertised with no frills.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

It's a bit limited in it's reporting capabilities, but support team is super helpful.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Profitwell manages all of our Software subscriptions for our SaaS business and helps us track churn, upgrades and NRR.

 ### 23. Great experience. Would be in my recommendation.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Afzal R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

We went with Paddle mainly because of how they handle sales tax. They take care of tax stuff when charging, which really puts our minds at ease. Plus, they make dealing with taxes across different places so much easier, which is a huge relief. Their pricing is transparent, no hidden fees, which makes budgeting a lot less stressful. Setting up was a piece of cake, and their customer support on Slack is awesome. Overall, Paddle has been a fantastic partner in helping our business grow.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The interface isn't as fancy as other competitors but it gets the job done.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a SaaS company, we relieved from all headaches of our billing and VAT issues for implementing paddle. Hence we can focus on more important stuff.

 ### 24. Much happier after switching to Paddle

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

We operate a SaaS business with subscription customers and switched from Stripe to Paddle in December 2022. The best part about Paddle is that they act as a Merchant of Record, so we're not spending time administering sales tax collection and payment to various countries and states, each with their own tax regulations.

The second best part about Paddle is that the pricing is more clear and transparent than other providers. For example, we pay a simple per transaction and % fee on Paddle, and it covers everything. On Stripe and others, you get these extra fees if you want to use their billing/subscription logic, and another fee for sales tax, and another fee for non-domestic charges. We're Canadian and so we were getting hit with extra fees when charging US customers, and even worse, some of our US customers were getting charged extra fees by their bank because we weren't based in the US. None of that is an issue with Paddle - they are based in the US and UK, and so it's been a great experience for everyone.

The web hook integration has worked very well for us. The sandbox environment made it easy to test and validate our integration before rolling out to production.

Customer support has also been good with Paddle... good technical support and ongoing tier 1 customer support. They seem flexible to follow our lead when we occasionally issue refunds.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

When we did our implementation, it took some time to understand and implement the Paddle API, and work with the Paddle billing logic. There are some minor missing API features, like the inability to update a user's email address for an existing subscription, but these are just minor issues. I understand they're rolling out a new API so maybe this has been solved.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They take the pain out of subscription billing for a SaaS software business, so we can focus more on our product and marketing, not sales tax compliance and admin. It's been a great upgrade for us compared to running our own sales tax admin. We don't want future headaches.

 ### 25. Most reliable payment service provider

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohan N. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I've been managing the payments for my digital download business with Paddle. It's already been more than 6 months and I am quite happy with the ease of use, simplicity and authencity of the payments. Paddle has provided the complete payment solution including the subscription, billing, taxes and payments and the best part, it is supports the bank transfer and Payoneer as a payout method. Not all the payment providers are supported here in Nepal, but Paddle has provided us an elegant way to manage our digital downloads business. Paddle has been one of the most reliable payment service provider, I have used so far. I have setup it once and everything is being handled properly by Paddle. The customer support was super helpful during the initial setup and I managed to move our Payment provider just within a few days. I together with my team can't be more happy than this.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

We haven't faced any issues so far with Paddle.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle has solved one of the biggest issue that my team had faced while managing the payment service providers. Paddle has provided an elegant way for my team to manage the payments, billing, taxes and everything from one single place that too without any hassle. The benefit for me and my team with Paddle is the management of the Payment methods, payment services and billing independently. The Payout is also done timely and in our preferred methods. Another point Paddle has served us is the recovery of the failed payments and this has retained our valuable customers on it's own, without any manual intervention.

 ### 26. Paddle Billing is an improvement, but support is woeful and things seem broken

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I've been using Paddle for about 5 years. The old version was a bit clunky & the dashboard was broken for a long time, without any fixes or updates for years. The new Paddle Billing API is much nicer. There is very little included out of the box but the API is comprehensive, so you can achieve most things yourself. They're doing one single thing (handling payments) if that's all you need they may be a good fit. Simple payouts, no third-party.

The new dashboard and UI is a huge improvement.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The support is completely unresponsive, with simple questions taking up to 5 days to get an answer. When contacting you are shown a message saying "Our Customer Support team is currently experiencing a high volume of inquiries.." but don't be fooled: that message has been there for the entire 5 or so years I've used them.

They have an AI assistant but it frequently gives incorrect information, e.g. it told me there was no way to do refunds on Paddle Billing, which would obviously be insane. Again, 3 days to get a confirmation that wasn't the case.

Paddle Billing overlay checkouts appear broken on IOS Safari. Tested on multiple sites & using their own developer docs code. I reported this 7 days ago & am still waiting for an initial acknowlegement. It doesn't fill me with confidence to run my business on this platform.

Update: It's now been 19 days & the checkout is still broken. 1 week ago I got a confirmation that the bug exists, but nothing since. When I posted this review I got a reply within hours. That tells you everything you need to know about Paddle's priorities.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've been using Paddle for a bout 5 years, to handle billing, sales tax/VAT compliance. For that it works very well. Previously they had other features, like affiliate support & split payments, which are gradually removed from the platform. This was unfortunate as I depended on all of these, and removing them made things more complicated. The new Billing API is much better however. Eliminating sales tax/VAT obligations is a big benefit when selling from the EU. However, other merchant of records are now available.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

Thank you for being a valued Paddle user for the last five years and taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear our new Billing APIs and dashboard enhancements are meeting your expectations.

We fully acknowledge the importance of timely and effective support in your experience with us. **What do you like best about Paddle?**

Easy to set up - the system was relatively easy to set up.
Customer support is quite responsive - besides requiring up to 2 days to respond, it fulfills my requests.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The Payout process is horrible. It is done automatically every month, without any option for a manual payout, which is often crucial for quickly growing SaaS companies, thus limiting the budget to a monthly basis. At the same time, I would need a week-to-week basis due to active marketing and high competition.
In addition, the payout is not paid immediately but, in contrast, is in an "in-progress" state for up to 15(!) days. Cash-inflow is therefore delayed by up to half of the period itself.
I find it to be an unreasonable and super-significant disadvantage compared to the alternatives.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great reseller of subscriptions

 ### 28. one stop essential solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

most usefull feature for us was customized billing feature, other features efficiently used are by us are billing and retention makes work a lot more easier.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Theres no such thing that we dislike however the price point is a bit steep for small scale companies but its worth it.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

our list of subscribers and payments was messed upa and lot of delayed payments halted buisness and profits after paddle its helping us organize the subscribers and individual customizable prices and retention
giving us a major upselling opportunity.

 ### 29. Love this for payments and invoicing for our subscription products!!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ANMOL JAIN 1. | Cofounder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

As a saas startup, we didnt have to build the payments module from scratch. Loved it. Pretty customizable. Easy to integrate and implement.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Nothing much, it has alot of use-cases but haven't explored all of them, felt a bit complex.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us solve 3 problems,
a full payment stack that we just connected to our system, multiple integrations with various payments app like apple pay etc, and we are able to take money and payments in multiple currencies.

 ### 30. We would choose Paddle again and again

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle's sales tax management is why we chose paddle. They take over tax liabilities at time of chrage which gives us peice of mind. And they take headache out of collecting and paying taxes for multiple jurisdictions. Additionally, their transparent pricing is a breath of fresh air. Unlike other services, Paddle doesn't hit us with hidden fees, making budgeting much more predictable. Set-up was easy, and the customer support via Slack is great. Overall, Paddle has proven to be a valuable partner in helping us grow our business!

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

I wish payouts we're faster - but we can manage this.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't have great subscription billing before and we're handling sales taxes properly. Paddle took the headasches aways.

 ### 31. Excellent payment experience, and this is very clear from our customer reviews

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed I. | Senior Industrial Designer, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

The thing I liked most about the Paddle service is the ease of payment for customers in many countries of the world using bank cards without complicated registration procedures from us as companies.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

We hope that there is an additional way to download the payment data fields without moving to another page and remaining on the payment page on our website. This is indeed what some customers asked me during payment processes, but I told them that this is beyond my control, as it is part of the programming of the payment gateway itself.
On another level, this increases the customer’s confidence during the payment process.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Paddle payment gateway has solved a major problem, which is accepting payments via credit cards

 ### 32. Great solution, support can do better

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vedant M. | Co-Founder and CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Its easy, streamlined and pretty straightforward to implement and use

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Support can be slow at times. Would love to see it be better

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Global compliance for taxation is super easy.

 ### 33. Best merchant of record alternative

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin B. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

My app uses both Stripe and Paddle. Implementing Paddle was quick and easy. What's great with Paddle is that it acts as a merchant of record -- so you never have to worry about VAT and it also greatly simplifies accounting.

Features aren't as numerous as in Stripe, but I'd say that's enough for my use case. I've never had to reach out to customer support until now -- everything has been working great so far.

Overall, very satisfied with Paddle!

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The interface isn't as sleek as Stripe's, but it does the job. I also wish it had a better customer portal.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle calculates and remit VAT for my EU customers.

 ### 34. The perfect solution for your SaaS billing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leandro Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle solves all the hustle of charging for your SaaS company, including tax collection which makes it super easy to start and you can focus on buidling without having to worry on anything else.

Paddle API is also great to work with.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

I think there are some small improvements that can be done in the portal UI. For example in the customer profile and orders be able to retry webhooks notifications related to the order instead of having to go and search for it based on the created date.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle solves the proble of SaaS billing and management and tax complience.

 ### 35. Not as good as expected.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergey K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

A nice widget design which they updated recently.
It is convenient that all payments are collected in one place and come to the company in one transfer.
No need to worry about taxes - which is incredibly convenient for working around the world.
Fast and nice customer support.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

We have been working with Paddle for over a year, but what did we expect from them? Payment system, Tax system, and Subscription management system. Unfortunately, the 3rd option is executed just terribly.

There is no option to unsubscribe at the end of the cycle and no option to change (downgrade) the plan at the end of the cycle. There is no way to implement "add-ons" other than to create another subscription plan. API events also leave much to be desired, for any change in the event we will receive an "update" event, and to understand what happened, we need to do dozens of ifs in the code.

Were it not for the widget changes, we would not have seen any changes and improvements. It seems that their entire R&D team is a couple of developers.

The customer support is fast and nice, but unhelpful lately as the quality has dropped a lot. We receive complaints from both employees and customers. If earlier Paddle tried to solve the problem directly with the client, now they answer that they "cannot CC client". We have the feeling that they are not serving us, but we are serving them.

Most recent examples from memory:

Support can ask us for the customer's email address, although we sent a subscription ID in the ticket, which is enough to find the email, and not wait a few more hours for a response.

Sometimes customers get a message that "something went wrong" INSIDE the Paddle widget. However, their support responds that there are issues with our website. The reply is not professional (just check the history of subscriptions for a day to make sure there are no issues), and they also spoil our reputation with customers.

Summary:

Given all these cons, we are nonetheless still happier with the Paddle than with the FastSpring from which we switched. At least Paddle has a nice design. And we hope that they will improve in the future.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Convenient payment on the website and a perfect solution for taxes. This is a good option for our small SaaS business.
Paddle allowed us to launch the project much earlier.

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Thank you for your detailed feedback regarding Paddle. Your insights are invaluable to us and play a pivotal role in shaping our services.

It’s disheartening to hear of the concerns you’ve mentioned about our Subscription management system and API events. We’ve always aimed to offer a seamless experience, and your feedback underscores areas for refinement.

Please know regarding our support team and processes that we are in a phase of transition, actively enhancing our support and aiming to return, and exceed, the service levels you expect from us.

I’d like to highlight our recently introduced features in Paddle Billing. We believe these additions bring more versatility to our platform and encourage you to explore them. I'd also recommend checking out our new Paddle Billing documentation, which you can find at developer.paddle.com for a comprehensive understanding of the updates.

Of course paddle is very hassle free service. I used others payment providers also they have verification and other issue in the middle of your budines. But paddle do it beginning of creating your account. So verify first and and relax in future. I am using paddle from more than 6 months.

The API integration is one of the simplest most flexiable solutions I have ever used. Paddle makes it possible for me to offer my software internationally.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Customer support while very helpful, is very slow. The paddle solution is well documented which means that you don't need to contact support often.

Without Paddle I would not be able to sell my product internationally.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The fees are considerable but reasonable when comparing to alternatives.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle solves the sales taxation issue globally, for SaaS subscriptions.

 ### 44. Simple integration, but the admin panel requires some extra functionality

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrey Y. | Co-Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 05, 2017

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

We find the Paddle service to be very convenient in the terms of simple integration, Paddle API, the option of creating flexible payment plans. The user interface of working with a specific subscripton is also convenient and simple.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

There are several points that can be improved, and they're as follows:
- there is no filter option in the Change Plan dropdown. You have to look for the needed plan manually among a thousand of plans
- there is no option to archive the old plans while some of the clients are still subscribed to them
- during the creation of the coupon, there is no option to apply it to more than a thousand of plans. You get the following error: “ Unknown: Input variables exceeded 1000. To increase the limit change max_input_vars in php.ini. in”
- the option of adding a payment plan via the API is in fact useless, as you can't add a logo to the plan in this way, so we have to do it manually
- each time after you edit a payment plan, you get redirected to the first page, and it complicates the process big time
- there is no option of sorting Subscription Plans by date - from the latest to the oldest or even alphabetically

Thus it is, in fact, impossible for a marketing manager to work with subscription plans via the internal Paddle interface.

Moreover, Paddle unexpectedly announced that they're going to close the affiliate split feature at the peak of marketing and holiday season. All last year we spent a lot of time and efforts to onboard about 1500 affiliates to scale the turnover of the program. It is really unexpected and frustrating.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy payment system integration for a SaaS service.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thank you for your insight, Andrey.

We are glad to hear that you find our integration process simple and convenient, and appreciate the flexibility of our payment plans and user interface.

We're actively working on improving our Subscription Billing functionality, with some big upgrades coming this year. We will take your suggestions into account as we continue to develop our platform.

Near the end of last year, we communicated the decision to terminate Paddle’s Affiliates and Split Funds features in early 2023. We did not take this decision lightly. It’s not a core part of our product offering and since we have not focused our resources on maintaining and improving these features they have become subpar when compared to the affiliates industry.

We appreciate that you, and others, have been drawing value from these features, so we worked closely with some third-party affiliate platforms (Rewardful and FirstPromoter) to ensure easy integration with Paddle.

Please reach out to us directly if you have any further questions.

Thanks, Paddle.

 ### 45. Easy setup, flexible options, powerful API and quick support = great choice for SaaS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andriy D. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

We are multi-product SaaS company providing our products and services worldwide for 1000+ customers in 20+ countries. Different products include different pricing options, one-time payments, extra usage payments, add-ons and setup fees. All those requirements are perfectly covered by Paddle's flexible setup and powerful API. Besides payment options and API being flexible, they still keep it easy to set up and use, so it's great even for small teams or start-ups. When we launch new products or extend our features, support from the Paddle team is quick and helpful, even for complex topics and specific scenarios. Another great advantage is VAT and tax handling features; it's essential if you are selling in multiple countries.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

It would be nice to have more checkout forms customization options and have an ability to manage webhooks via API

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle helps us to handle one-time payments and monthly and annual subscriptions for our SaaS products. As it contains flexible payment options and product setup, we can cover all our requirements for different products and services.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Hi Andriy,

Thanks for your feedback. We love hearing that we’re a great choice for SaaS.

We’re absolutely exploring adding more customization to the checkout, but our team can get pretty creative with the current toolset - we’d love to hear if you have any ideas on things you’d like to do or if you need any support.

 ### 46. Essential tool for any SaaS company selling online

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jelle D. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

We love the simplicity of Paddle.
Easy to implemented, custom embedded (inline) or via a store on Paddle webpage.

Best win is the online VAT processing: Simply define your product, plans, implement the webhooks and leave the full selling to Paddle.
For one-time payments, and subscription models.

Accounting wise, you only need to book the revenue per month, and not each individual invoice of each customer.
And no need to store sensitive customer data, no need to be PCI compliant.

So all wins here ;)

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

I wish they offered SEPA payments for subscriptions, and have more advanced coupon codes. For example, coupon codes that grant a credit to the customer account (with expiration date?), or is valid for a discount for a given number of months and so on. Luckily those seems to be on the roadmap.

The support is not 100% optimal and not real-time. Luckily not needed that often, but a live chat would be great.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online accounting and sales, especially when B2B focused and taking VAT into account. Still, as EU is changing VAT rules often (even B2C), Paddle helps with taking this load, so you can focus on developing your own product.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Jelle. It’s great to hear about all the wins!

We're looking into adding SEPA and other types of recurring direct debit payments, so stay tuned.

Glad to hear that you're excited about the upcoming improvements to our coupon codes and discounts. We're always striving to make Paddle better.

While we don't have real-time support just yet, you can always drop us a message in our chat and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. It's hard to give a definitive timeline on responses because the domain is complex and sometimes the questions span multiple teams internally. Our priority is to give you the best answer possible, even if it takes a bit longer.

 ### 47. Excellent payment solution with no tax headache

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris J. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Paddle is easy to set up and start taking payments. We find that the conversion rate using the checkout widget is good, and it's clear that the Paddle team has spent time plenty of time optimising this. We use Paddle to sell digital products. Undoubtedly the best thing about Paddle is the fact that Paddle acts as a Merchant of Record. This is a very clever way of enabling us to avoid the headaches of dealing with things like VAT MOSS.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

The payment processing cost (5% per transaction) is higher than we would like, although it is overall probably worth it mainly due to the Merchant of Record benefits of using Paddle. Separately, the back-end API is generally good but could be improved - it sometimes feels like an afterthought from a developer's perspective.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a simple, drop-in payment acceptance method. Originally it was to replace Gumroad which we were using to accept payments for digital goods. Paddle was easy to set up and integrate, and payment acceptance works very smoothly.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thanks for the feedback, Chris. We appreciate your positive comments about our checkout widget and the benefits of using Paddle as a Merchant of Record. We are constantly working to improve the dev experience - we’ve noted your feedback. Regarding the payment processing cost, we understand that it may be higher than some other providers, but we believe that the value we offer with our all-in-one platform, including tax handling, risk management, and subscription management saves on cost.

 ### 48. Great payment processor that takes care of everything.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eldar G. | Online Educator, Web Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

Easy integration of the payment widgets (including the inline checkout experience) is lovely. It makes it possible for our business to concentrate on producing high-quality products instead of worrying about payments and taxes. I have been using Paddle to run my online business for the past four years.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Not many, to be honest. Sometimes the response time for support requests can be a bit longer than ideal. Not critical, and the issues are always resolved at the end of the day, so not too bad. Although I can't say everything was always perfect (I had some temporary issues with payouts to my country), the team at Paddle got to the bottom of the problem and ultimately fixed everything for me. Highly recommend them!

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Paddle takes care of everything related to accepting payments, collecting the VAT in different countries, and sending the payouts with revenue (usually on time).

**Official Response from Bianca Dragan:**

> Hi Eldar,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re happy to hear we have been a good partner for your payments infrastructure for the past 4 years. We appreciate your kind words!

In regards to our support times, we are working on improving response times and strive to respond as quickly as possible.

Thanks,
Paddle team

 ### 49. Seamless experience with Paddle

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abzal A. | Founder/software developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Paddle?**

I am using Paddle for ContactInBio and ManyBio, and I am planning to add many more projects. Been using it for many years and am super happy with how stress-free the onboarding process was. Paddle team was super helpful, and API documentation was written very well and integrated quickly with the website. Paddle handles payments, email notifications, payouts and taxes from subscription payments of customers worldwide, which helps me focus on building the product.

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Onboarding might take some time, but it is worth it! It would be awesome if the pricing per transaction could be reduced, but what they offer now isn't that bad considering the amount of work they have to do.

**What problems is Paddle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves the issue of accepting payments worldwide for a SaaS startup without worrying about taxes and compliance in each country payments received from. Processes payments, refunds and payout for my startups.

**Official Response from Hayley Rodgers:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience, Abzal. We're thrilled to hear that you've been using Paddle for many years and are satisfied with how stress-free the onboarding process was.

At Paddle, we take pride in handling payments, email notifications, payouts, and taxes from subscription payments for customers worldwide, so they can focus on building their products. While we understand your suggestion to reduce the pricing per transaction, we are confident that our pricing is reflective of the value we provide. As a Merchant of Record (MoR), Paddle takes on the responsibility of handling all fraud and compliance on behalf of our customers, including sales tax remittance. We look forward to supporting you as you continue to grow and start new projects!

I used PayPal, Stripe & other Payment Gateways as well as Fastspring, but the main problem with them was lots of problems faced like Limits & chargeback issues, Here we face too, but Paddle handle's them without risk of getting restricted to accept payments & Also I like the Profitwell Integration after getting familiar with all the charts & Data, I got to know there's lots of problems why the customer's are not making payments & why they are cancelling the subscriptions, All metrics are 100% accurate & It helps to reduce churn.

Thanks Paddle team to provide us best service's & support also..

I'm further interested for AliPay beta Access & Waiting for it's full release.

Thanks for reading..

**What do you dislike about Paddle?**

Not at all, i'm fully satisfied & happy with the services.

Business Invoices & Recurring payments handling was my main problems solved by paddle.
