Square for Retail has great features for inventory tracking, including a receiving feature and cost of goods reports. Transactions are generally quick and easy on the point of sale register or handheld terminal, and Square provides nonprofits like ours with a discounted credit card processing rate. Switching from Clover POS to Square POS has allowed us to save on processing fees and helps us keep better track of our inventory. It also allows us to use online payment links without needing a full online store. Another feature we like is the Customer Directory, which automatically captures customer data, as well as allows us to group customers so we can give unique discounts to different membership levels. What i really like about the shopify POS is how simple and easy it is to use. You dont need much training to get started, and everything feels quite intuitive. Solves a lot of ecom specific challenges with bookkeeping. Specifically, I appreciate how it manages our pre-orders by using deferred revenue for pre-orders that are unfulfilled. I also appreciate that is connects with so many of our sales channels, like Shopify and Amazon, to give us up-to-the-day accuracy. They way they are managing Shopify Collective and dropship vendors is a huge improvement over QBO and even their own previous methods.
