Patch Management Software

Typically, Patch Management is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best Patch Management Software.

Patch management refers to identifying, creating, and installing patches to ensure application safety and functionality. While programs are running, necessary alterations and improvements will come in the form of a software patch. The most directly related software category is vulnerability management. These tools will help alert IT administrators and automate tasks associated with soft patching. Both network monitoring and enterprise IT management suites will provide similar capabilities with significant additional functionality. Network monitoring software will constantly track network performance and reliability. Enterprise IT management suites provide a larger control center for all components of a system's IT infrastructure including patch management.

“Super Easy and Effective - Loved my Experience!”
What do you like best about NinjaOne?

The amount of information that was not easily obtainable is now right at my fingertips. NinjaOne made this possible and I love it. Their UI is so easy to use and appreciate the support they've provided in times of need. It was easy to setup and we use it all the time. There are so many things you can do with NinjaOne and seems to integrate with our software with ease. Since we've been using their product for a while now, I don't forsee ever not having their service. Thank you! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NinjaOne?

Honestly, nothing at this time. We have really appreciated their solution. They are always so responsive and quick to answer questions when I need them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NinjaOne solving and how is that benefiting you?

We didn't have visability into our computers, especially when it came to who was installing what where, and if anything malicious was potentially happening. With NinjaOne, that's just one of their amazing features that I love and it really benefits us with more visibility. And to have all that data at your fingertips is great. “Atera: All-in-One IT Management with Strong Integrations, Automation, and ROI”
What do you like best about Atera?

What I like most about Atera is that it provides a very complete platform for managing our IT devices in one place. The UI is easy to understand, and it gives the team clear visibility into computers, software, updates, alerts, and remote support without having to jump between multiple tools.

Integrations are another big plus. Atera connects with other platforms and tools, which streamlines the technicians’ workflow and reduces manual effort. We use it to automate updates, monitor devices, and improve how we support end users.

Performance has been solid overall. The platform is stable, and the remote access and monitoring features help us respond faster when issues come up. It also helps us prevent problems before they grow, since we can review alerts and device status ahead of time.

Another strong point is the pricing model and ROI. Because Atera is priced per technician rather than per device, it makes a lot of sense for growing IT teams and MSPs. It lets us manage more endpoints without driving up costs too much, which is a real advantage.

Onboarding and support have been positive as well. The platform isn’t difficult to learn, and the documentation and support resources are helpful when we need to understand a feature or configure something new.

One unexpected benefit is the AI feature, especially ROBIN AI. It can reduce technicians’ workload by assisting with responses, ticket handling, and general troubleshooting. From the end-user perspective, it can also improve the experience because issues can be handled faster and with better information.

Overall, Atera helps us save time, automate repetitive tasks, improve visibility, and boost the IT team’s effectiveness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Atera?

one area where Atera could improve is reporting. The reports are helpful, but they are not as automated or flexible as I would like. It would be great to have easier scheduled reports and more customization for clients or internal reviews.

Also, ROBIN AI is a strong feature, but it would be better if smaller teams could buy it too. If it is only available starting at 100 users, that makes it harder for small MSPs or IT departments to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Atera solving and how is that benefiting you?

Atera is helping us centralize our IT support and device management in one platform. It solves the problem of having to use different tools for monitoring, remote access, updates, and ticket follow-up.

The main benefit is that our technicians can work faster, have better visibility of the devices, and respond to issues before they become bigger problems. It also helps us save time by automating repetitive tasks and improving the overall support experience for the end user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Helpful Endpoint Management Platform”
What do you like best about ManageEngine Endpoint Central?

ManageEngine Endpoint Central support has been very helpful when troubleshooting issues. What I appreciate most is that they are willing to review logs and investigate the problem instead of immediately pointing the finger at Microsoft or another vendor. That approach makes the support process feel more collaborative and productive, and it helps us get closer to the actual root cause instead of wasting time going in circles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ManageEngine Endpoint Central?

Sometimes an Endpoint Central update can unexpectedly break certain features, such as remote control. This has happened before where the issue turned out to be related to the agent, and the recommended fix was to reinstall the agent on the client machine.

The challenge is that many of our clients are offsite, and we rely on Endpoint Central specifically for remote support. So when the remote control feature is impacted and the fix requires reinstalling the agent locally, it creates a difficult situation. It would be helpful if agent repair or recovery options were more reliable and easier to perform remotely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ManageEngine Endpoint Central solving and how is that benefiting you?

ManageEngine Endpoint Central helps us with auto patching and remote control, which are very useful for managing endpoints and supporting users remotely.

However, for software deployment, I do not feel it can fully replace PDQ Deploy yet. The experience has been inconsistent for us. For example, earlier today I tried to install Adobe Reader on a PC through the self-service portal, but the installation failed. This has been an on-and-off issue for a long time.

Overall, Endpoint Central is beneficial for patching and remote support, but I would like to see software deployment become more reliable and consistent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Ticket-to-Email Integration and Easy Customization”
What do you like best about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?

Helps refine the dashboard for individual team and the level of data customization is easier for every individual user with how the solution works. My best liking part is about the seamless integration of ticket to the user emails and how fast the responses are. I have personally worked on ServiceNow and handled tickets and I hope new AI platform enables easier ticket resolutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ServiceNow IT Operations Management?

Continuous email chains and unresponsive customers around ITOM. ServiceNow ITOM is often criticized for its astronomical licensing costs and the extreme complexity of implementation, which typically requires highly specialized (and expensive) expertise to deploy and maintain. Organizations also frequently struggle with heavy technical debt when biannual platform upgrades break custom discovery patterns, along with CMDB data bloat and noticeable system latency if the environment isn’t meticulously governed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ServiceNow IT Operations Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

ServiceNow ITOM helps turn chaotic, multi-cloud infrastructure into a more proactive digital operation for global media organisations such as News Corp and Dow Jones. By addressing infrastructure blindness and reducing alert fatigue with AIOps-driven root-cause analysis, the platform helps protect digital subscription and advertising revenue for high-profile brands like The Wall Street Journal by preventing critical downtime. It also brings multi-cloud sprawl under control across their large global cloud footprints, consolidating international IT workflows into a single, automated system of record. “Authentic, Experience-Based Reviews for PRTG Paessler”
What do you like best about Paessler PRTG?

The absolute standout for me is how effortlessly I can spin up custom EXE sensors that pull live Modbus data straight from our legacy PLCs on the factory floor and correlate it with power draw on individual CNC machines. No other tool I’ve tried lets me do that without fighting through three layers of middleware or writing a full-blown agent. Last quarter I had one sensor flagging a 12% spike in vibration on a milling station at 2 a.m.—turned out to be a bearing starting to go. Fixed it during the next shift window instead of losing half a day of production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paessler PRTG?

The hierarchical grouping for OT devices is still pretty manual. Every time maintenance swaps a sensor or adds a new actuator I have to go rebuild the tree structure by hand, and if you forget one sub-group the maps look like a jigsaw with missing pieces. It’s not a deal-breaker, but after a busy shutdown week it feels like busywork that should be smarter by now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Paessler PRTG solving and how is that benefiting you?

We used to fly blind on predictive maintenance—machines would just fail and we’d scramble. Now PRTG gives us trending curves I can actually show the maintenance guys in plain English. We cut unplanned downtime by roughly 40 % on the critical lines and shaved about 18 % off our quarterly energy bill because we finally saw which machines were idling at full power overnight. The ROI showed up in the first six months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“A product and a team that offer endless flexibility”
What do you like best about NetBeez Network Monitoring?

At its core, the software simply collects data. However, where the software truly shines is the flexibility that comes along with that. The Netbeez team is very good at taking our data reporting and monitoring needs and quickly turning them into whatever dashboard/report we need. They're also very good at helping us figure out what would look good/be helpful when we don't have a clearly defined layout ourselves. A huge strength of the software is the team behind it, and how they're easy to work with and actively and continuously provide value to our operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetBeez Network Monitoring?

It's very difficult to find something to dislike, because I feel confident that anything we would want changed, the Netbeez team would be able to accommodate it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NetBeez Network Monitoring solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our organization's workers are primarily remote, and their roles very often are ones that don't come with a necessary proficiency in technology. Therefore, it is often the case that home internet/router diagnosis falls entirely on us. This tool is essential to being able to gather objective troubleshooting data among the sea of subjective reporting we get from our users to determine where the actual cause of network interruptions lies. “Complete visibility on network activity”
What do you like best about ExtraHop?

What I like most about ExtraHop is the ability to monitor and analyze all traffic passing through the network. Generally, companies have strong endpoint controls through tools like EDR; however, network is often limited to firewalls with intrusion detection and intrusion prevention rules. Where I find ExtraHop excels is through complete network visibility by mapping assets, learning network traffic and spotting anomalies, and giving Security Operations teams visibility into what is occurring on their network.

ExtraHop is easy to deploy through either and appliance on physical networks our through a virtual appliance in the cloud. The Customer Success teams are deeply knowledgable and provide great support to customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ExtraHop?

Not a dislike but a feature I would like to see is ExtraHop move towards prevention. Currently, the product is good at identifying and detecting suspicious or malicious activity. Prevention can be achieved through integration with tools but it would be nice to have these native to ExtraHop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ExtraHop solving and how is that benefiting you?

Whenever we perform penetration tests, ExtraHop is always the first tool to detect the activity. Often times, the penetration testers will start their campaigns performing reconnaissance and trying to remain stealthy. Because they are not attempting to exploit vulnerabilities at this stage and may be using legitimate system tools, these actions would usually go unnoticed. By inspecting all network traffic, ExtraHop is quick to determine unusual activity on the network host even if it is not a managed device. The network traffic can be inspected by SOC teams and actions can be taken to contain the suspicious device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Unified Observability and Automation That Streamlines IT Operations”
What do you like best about OpsRamp?

What I like best about OpsRamp is its unified observability and IT operations management approach. Instead of using multiple disconnected tools for monitoring, alerting, automation, and incident management, OpsRamp brings these capabilities together on a single platform. This helps organizations gain better visibility into their infrastructure and applications, reduce operational complexity, and respond to issues more efficiently. I also appreciate its strong automation capabilities, which help minimize manual effort and improve overall operational reliability. As someone interested in observability and infrastructure monitoring, I find OpsRamp's focus on proactive issue detection and intelligent operations particularly valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpsRamp?

While OpsRamp is a powerful platform, one area that could be improved is the learning curve for new users. Because it offers a wide range of monitoring, automation, and IT operations capabilities, it can take some time for teams to fully understand and utilize all its features effectively. Additionally, initial configuration and customization may require careful planning, especially in complex enterprise environments. However, these challenges are common with comprehensive enterprise observability and IT operations platforms, and the benefits generally outweigh the initial effort required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpsRamp solving and how is that benefiting you?

For me, the biggest benefit is improved visibility and faster issue resolution. By consolidating monitoring data into a single pane of glass, OpsRamp helps identify problems proactively before they impact users. Its automation capabilities also reduce repetitive operational tasks, allowing teams to focus on higher-value work. This leads to improved system reliability, reduced downtime, and more efficient IT operations. As someone working in observability and infrastructure monitoring, having a unified latform helps simplify troubleshooting enhances overall operational efficiency. I started with a free community edition, which was great for testing. Eventually, I upgraded to the professional edition for daily updates and real-time alerting features. I get it at an affordable price, and I feel it's a solid investment. Low maintenance. Once it's up and running, it just works. It's been running smoothly for over a year with minimal intervention. Clean web interface, I can drill down into device performance, historical graph, and spot trends easily. The good thing is that it can handle and monitor any networking device via SNMP, so it is very easy for our monitoring team to handle multiple types of network devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Red Hat Smart Management?

Red Hat Smart Management exhibits strong integration with Red Hat products, which may pose challenges if considering a transition to alternative vendors down the road. Additionally, apart from these overarching concerns, a number of users have expressed criticisms about specific aspects of Red Hat Smart Management:

1.Navigating and utilizing the reporting system can be somewhat challenging. 2.While capable, the performance monitoring features may not match the robustness found in some competing products.

3.The support for non-Red Hat systems is somewhat limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Red Hat Smart Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

“Why we decided to bet on PandoraFMS”
What do you like best about Pandora FMS?

We have been using Pandora for a long time and we have always liked the support and the way the tool processes data.

For us it was and is very important that reports can be sent and that there is a clear way to display the data on the screen so that a technician and even non-technical personnel can see it.

We monitor SQL tasks, Veeam backups, temperatures, disk array status, raid, equipment through SNMP... everything we can think of.

Nowadays even more things when we use AI.

The performance of the tool is quite good, never saturating the server where it is installed. Furthermore, the price is adjusted and valid for our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pandora FMS?

Only two things!

1.- There is no template support to apply to hosts... like in Zabbix or Centreon!

2.- It's a bit difficult to interact with Grafana. (It's possible, but not easy for all users)

3.- Maybe some integrations are missed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pandora FMS solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps us to collect disparate data such as veeam backup status, sql tasks, acronis tasks, failed login, successful login, number of open/sg processes... What do you like best about AWS Systems Manager?

Since, Macie covers s3, cloudwatch covers VPC logs, Cloudtrail with api calls within services. There were some limitations within them. Since our infrastructure may be secure, but in case of defense in depth, we should always consider regular patching of EC2, identify unwanted softwares. Who and when it happened. All these should be logged for correlating purpose. System Manager with help of agents and aggregators shows the posture of an OS or an EC2 or running core. The integration is also very simple with other services to make sure security and compliance is in stand. What do you like best about OpManager Nexus?

1. For the breadth of coverage it offers the licensing cost is remarkably competitive.

2. Dashboards are well-organised, visually clear, and easy to navigate. New team members get comfortable fairly quickly without much hand-holding.

3. Strong Multi-Vendor Coverage & Performance - Performance data for CPU, memory, disk, and network is reliably accurate and consistently collected without gaps.

4. The alerting-to-incident flow with ITSM works cleanly. Automatic ticket creation on threshold breaches keeps operations tight and audit-friendly without needing complex middleware or custom scripting.

5. Support is accessible, knowledgeable, and turnaround is fast. Onboarding feels assisted rather than abandoned.

6. AIOps capabilities around anomaly detection and predictive alerting are a welcome addition, helping reduce noise and surface meaningful issues before they escalate. Still maturing, but already adding practical value in day-to-day operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpManager Nexus?

- Out-of-the-box reports cover the essentials but customisation is limited. Getting a polished, meaningful report tailored to specific stakeholder needs often requires exporting data and reworking it externally. Not ideal when you need quick executive-level visibility.

- Various add-on options per use case for indepth monitoring. At times it feels like core functionality that should be included that than an upsell.

- While the ITSM and CMDB integration works well for basic incident creation, deeper bi-directional CMDB synchronisation and relationship mapping sometimes requires additional configuration effor Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpManager Nexus solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpManager brings infrastructure and network device monitoring under one roof, removing the need to juggle multiple tools and giving the operations team a single, dependable view of overall environment health at any moment.

It helps catch performance issues - CPU, memory, disk, and network - before they snowball into outages, keeping services stable and reducing unplanned downtime that directly impacts the business.

The ITSM and CMDB integration closes the loop between monitoring and incident management, so alerts don’t just fire into a void; they turn into tracked, accountable tickets with clear ownership and established resolution workflows.

At its core, OpManager addresses a very practical need: giving a lean IT operations team strong visibility and control across a diverse, mixed-vendor environment without stretching the budget - which, for most organisations, is the real day-to-day challenge. “Site24x7: Unified Monitoring with Smart AI Alerts and Root-Cause Insights”
What do you like best about Site24x7?

What makes Site24x7 a real lifesaver for IT teams is how it brings everything—your websites, servers, cloud setups, and networks—together in a single view, sparing you the headache of bouncing between a dozen different tools. It basically works like a 24/7 digital watchdog, continuously checking your site from global locations to make sure it’s actually working for real users, while using AI to spot anomalies before they take down your system. And instead of simply blowing up your phone with alerts when something breaks, it goes further by offering clear root-cause analysis and can even kick off automatic fixes, like restarting a frozen server, so you can finally get some sleep at night. What do you dislike about Site24x7?

The biggest headache with Site24x7 is its dated, cluttered interface. It makes even basic configuration settings feel unintuitive to find, which creates a steep learning curve for new teams. Although it packs a huge amount of functionality into a single platform, the sheer data density often works against you. The default settings can be overly sensitive, leading to serious alert fatigue as engineers get bombarded with false alarms unless everything is heavily customized.

On top of that, their complex, add-on-heavy billing model can be very frustrating to navigate. The base price may look affordable at first, but it can quickly escalate with unexpected upgrades for extra logs, advanced metrics, or additional monitors. Dealing with critical technical issues can also test your patience, since users often report having to go through multiple tiers of basic customer service before finally getting connected to engineers who can actually resolve deeper infrastructure problems. What problems is Site24x7 solving and how is that benefiting you?

Site24x7 addresses the problem of fragmented IT monitoring by replacing isolated tracking tools with a single observability platform.

Problems solved and immediate benefits: It reduces tool fragmentation by consolidating website, server, cloud, and network monitoring into one dashboard, so your team doesn’t have to constantly switch between different systems. It also helps eliminate blind spots by continuously testing user journeys from over 130 global locations, allowing you to spot regional outages or slow load times before your customers notice. When troubleshooting is slow, its AI-powered root-cause analysis can automatically pinpoint why a system crashed, cutting Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) from hours to minutes. Finally, it reduces manual intervention by triggering automated scripts or server restarts as soon as a threshold is breached, resolving routine infrastructure glitches automatically so engineers can stay focused on development. “Powerful Ticketing, SLAs, Automations, and Analytics That Boost Agent Organization”
What do you like best about Freshservice?

Ticket categories, Service Request, SLAs, Automator Flow, Analytics/Dashboard module, among others, greatly helped for greater agent organization, time management and Admin monitoring. It could be a little faster on the loading times, but the functionality makes up for it.

Pricing can be steep the more agents onboard, but the support and Ai tools offered can be a plus if needed.

API endpoint integrations also helps, along with the client portal allowing code customization for better visuals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
