What do you like best about NinjaOne?

I like how fast it is. The patch management, however, is probably Ninja’s best module. It’s very intuitive and flexible to use, and it makes the overall experience feel smooth and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NinjaOne?

I think the main downsides of Ninja are around Remote Desktop and reporting. With the Remote Desktop feature, you can’t save credentials per user; it’s only per organisation, which is terrible. We should not have shared credentials for obvious Cyber Essentials reasoning.

Reporting also isn’t ideal. I wanted to report on groups of devices with a software count, but you can’t do this, for example, in a report I’d like to see that 5 devices have Software_X. It seems like you can only view this from the dashboard page for all devices at once or an organisation, and even there the filtering isn’t very useful.

Lastly, our previous RMM solution had some helpful features that I miss: a preview/screenshot function so you can see the state of a device before connecting; a chat function to initiate contact before you connect (not only once you’ve already connected); and a network node feature where you can select a device as a network node and VPN tunnel to it remotely. That way, from your local machine you can access other devices and services on their network without needing to physically remote onto the customer’s device just to reach something on their network. What I like most about Atera is its all-in-one approach. Having RMM, PSA, remote access, patch management, billing, and reporting in a single platform makes day-to-day operations more efficient and helps cut down on tool sprawl.

For an MSP, the per-technician pricing model is another major advantage, since it scales more predictably than per-endpoint licensing. The automation features—especially scripting and alerting—save a lot of time on repetitive tasks, and the interface remains fairly straightforward compared to more enterprise-focused alternatives.

What do you dislike about Atera?

What I dislike most about Atera is that some of its more advanced features still feel less mature than those in larger, enterprise-focused RMM platforms. Reporting and analytics have improved over time, but they can still feel limiting when you need highly customized dashboards or deeper business insights.

The PSA module is convenient because everything is integrated, but certain workflows and automations aren’t as flexible as they are in dedicated PSA solutions. Ticketing can also become cumbersome in more structured service desk environments.

Patch management is another area that could use improvement, particularly around visibility and consistency in larger or more complex environments. At times, troubleshooting automation failures or agent-related issues requires more manual intervention than I would expect.

Mac management also lags well behind the Windows experience. Feature parity isn’t there yet: monitoring, scripting, patching, and device management for macOS feel more limited and less reliable than on Windows endpoints. For MSPs supporting mixed environments, this creates operational inconsistencies and often means relying on additional tools to properly manage Apple devices.

What I like most about ExtraHop is the ability to monitor and analyze all traffic passing through the network. Generally, companies have strong endpoint controls through tools like EDR; however, network is often limited to firewalls with intrusion detection and intrusion prevention rules. Where I find ExtraHop excels is through complete network visibility by mapping assets, learning network traffic and spotting anomalies, and giving Security Operations teams visibility into what is occurring on their network.

Not a dislike but a feature I would like to see is ExtraHop move towards prevention. Currently, the product is good at identifying and detecting suspicious or malicious activity. Whenever we perform penetration tests, ExtraHop is always the first tool to detect the activity. Often times, the penetration testers will start their campaigns performing reconnaissance and trying to remain stealthy. Because they are not attempting to exploit vulnerabilities at this stage and may be using legitimate system tools, these actions would usually go unnoticed. By inspecting all network traffic, ExtraHop is quick to determine unusual activity on the network host even if it is not a managed device. What do you like best about Pandora FMS?

We have been using Pandora for a long time and we have always liked the support and the way the tool processes data.

For us it was and is very important that reports can be sent and that there is a clear way to display the data on the screen so that a technician and even non-technical personnel can see it.

We monitor SQL tasks, Veeam backups, temperatures, disk array status, raid, equipment through SNMP... everything we can think of.

Nowadays even more things when we use AI.

What do you dislike about Pandora FMS?

Only two things!

1.- There is no template support to apply to hosts... like in Zabbix or Centreon!

2.- It's a bit difficult to interact with Grafana. (It's possible, but not easy for all users)

I started with a free community edition, which was great for testing. Eventually, I upgraded to the professional edition for daily updates and real-time alerting features. I get it at an affordable price, and I feel it's a solid investment. Low maintenance. Once it's up and running, it just works. It's been running smoothly for over a year with minimal intervention. Clean web interface, I can drill down into device performance, historical graph, and spot trends easily. The good thing is that it can handle and monitor any networking device via SNMP, so it is very easy for our monitoring team to handle multiple types of network devices. What do you dislike about Observium?

What do you like best about AWS Systems Manager?

Since, Macie covers s3, cloudwatch covers VPC logs, Cloudtrail with api calls within services. There were some limitations within them. Since our infrastructure may be secure, but in case of defense in depth, we should always consider regular patching of EC2, identify unwanted softwares. Who and when it happened. All these should be logged for correlating purpose. System Manager with help of agents and aggregators shows the posture of an OS or an EC2 or running core. The integration is also very simple with other services to make sure security and compliance is in stand. Coming to patch manager, using playbooks were pretty easy and risk free as it could be triggered based on rules. Thanks for such a service. What do you dislike about AWS Systems Manager?

Downside is, Overall , in view of compliance sometimes PII uploaded to s3 can be identified with Macie. But when its an image or pdf containing photo copies of such personal sensitive information its hard to identify. It might be stored on the ec2 or s3. But figuring out it is complex. We do have OCR techniques in some services, which can trigger ec2 playbooks. Yes , it can be achievable with right problem solving technique and using the required services. What I like most is its cost estimator and unified management. The cost estimator tells us exactly how much it will cost per user, so there are no surprises on our bills. The unified management allows us to manage both personal and multi-session desktops in the same place without switching profiles. What do you dislike about Nerdio Manager?

I think they need to improve the dashboard interface because Nerdio Manager adds new features almost every week, and the dashboard can feel a bit crowded. They should categorize all the new features into different categories so we can find the tools easier. And, I think they need to fix the learning logic because while it's here, that raw concept requires you to understand the best networking and cloud concepts to set up the really advanced automation. What do you like best about Genuity?

Simplicity in managing Tickets, Inventory, and outstanding customer support.

We have reached out to Genuity multiple times with suggestions, and they have listened and even implemented one of the suggestions.

The price, for what you get, is by far the best on the market.

We've never seen one single issue with their service being down. They are constantly up and perform well.

We also really like their GUI. It's clean, easy for us to use, and incredibly simple for teachers and staff to submit tickets.

A teacher or staff member would access the shared Sheet and put their trouble on it. Incredibly inefficient.

What do you like best about TeamViewer?

TeamViewer is the best app for remote desktop connections. Just share TeamViewer ID and password of the person you want to take control of pc. That's it. The best part is that it keeps changing your password whenever you close and start the application, so the security is also maintained, or else anyone can connect to your pc any time. What do you dislike about TeamViewer?

A few security issues were present, but TeamViewer solved them by generating or refreshing passwords at set intervals, so now your password changes at regular intervals.
