"Effortless Network Monitoring with Powerful Features and Low Maintenance"
What do you like best about Observium?

I started with a free community edition, which was great for testing. Eventually, I upgraded to the professional edition for daily updates and real-time alerting features. I get it at an affordable price, and I feel it's a solid investment. Low maintenance. Once it's up and running, it just works. It's been running smoothly for over a year with minimal intervention. Clean web interface, I can drill down into device performance, historical graph, and spot trends easily. The good thing is that it can handle and monitor any networking device via SNMP, so it is very easy for our monitoring team to handle multiple types of network devices. What do you dislike about Observium?

Reporting isn't good. Alerting setup is a bit complex. I had to dig through the documentation to get the email notification to work properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A valid platform for network monitoring that highly supports a wide range of device"
What do you like best about Observium?

The platform has a very strong and proactive support team that helps its customers resolve the challenges they may be facing and give feedback to all the questions that customers may be asking hence it has great customer service. The software is very easy to use and understand hence all its users can use it without acquiring any learning skills as it is a self-explanatory tool that has helped even the non-tech individual to use it without any difficulty. The platform has enabled users to get near real-time alerts when there is an error either the power has failed or the device is down as it has an alert checker feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Observium?

There are a few cons that I have noticed since I started using the platform but it doesn’t mean that it is not the best platform to use it just needs some improvement to be great in the future. One of the things to be improved is to make the documentation more understandable and it should make availability of more customizations in the dashboards to make it more smarter tool by doing so the software should be given a five star. "Great Network Monitoring Software"
What do you like best about Observium?

My most used feature in Observium is the Alert checkers and I like that I can send those alerts to email and via Webhook to get near realtime alerts when something has gone wrong whether it is a device down or a stacking cable or power supply has failed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Observium?

I don't have many dislikes, but if I had to find one, it would be some devices don't have support at this time, and adding new MIBS can be complex or straight forward, but I don't have experience doing that. I only have a single model of device that is not recognized well, so for me, it is not a big deal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Monitoring Solution, with Difficult Customization"
What do you like best about Observium?

Observium is unable to recognize and monitor devices. It has proven to be a cumbersome solution for troubleshooting our switch networking problems. The dashboard customization options have some limitations they provide us with poor insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Observium?

The setup requires Linux expertise. The drawback is that configuring alerts is a bit difficult. Observium has been problematic a tool for monitoring our network. One aspect I find lacking in Observium is the ability to fully customize the dashboard and create custom graphs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great network monitoring tool for our IT department"
What do you like best about Observium?

We had Observium setup for our IT department to capture the data on a wide variety of devices across our network. We use it for our network switches primarily. It allows us to see statistics and information about our switched network environment. After downloading it (free) we had it setup by our MSP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Observium?

I have no Cons for this product, and it has been a very beneficial solution to help us identify when we have any switch networking troubles. The only concern I can share was we needed support setting it up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Provide all stats in one place, especially concern about RAM usage, which AWS does not provide.

"An auto- discovering software capable of network monitoring for various devices."
What do you like best about Observium?

According to us, Observium is a highly efficient network monitoring software, and it is one of the advantages is it's auto discovering and its ability to support a variety of devices and Operating systems. We have found it very prompt in its action and is also supportive of the SNMP devices and without doing anything right after its connectivity with the device it initiates monitoring and graphic tracing. Hence in this way it has proved itself to us as a time-saver. With its recurrent updates, it is getting more and more improved and efficient. Also, its support team is proactive, professional, and responsive. It is very easy and simple to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Observium?

I think it should improve and make more customizations available to the dashboard it would make it a more smart tool. It is unsupportive to the custom graphs and this bothered me a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
