## Observium Reviews
  ### 1. Effortless Network Monitoring with Powerful Features and Low Maintenance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharin S. | Team Lead - Azure and Windows server, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Observium?**

I started with a free community edition, which was great for testing. Eventually, I upgraded to the professional edition for daily updates and real-time alerting features. I get it at an affordable price, and I feel it's a solid investment. Low maintenance. Once it's up and running, it just works. It's been running smoothly for over a year with minimal intervention. Clean web interface, I can drill down into device performance, historical graph, and spot trends easily. The good thing is that it can handle and monitor any networking device via SNMP, so it is very easy for our monitoring team to handle multiple types of network devices.

**What do you dislike about Observium?**

Reporting isn't good. Alerting setup is a bit complex. I had to dig through the documentation to get the email notification to work properly.

**What problems is Observium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A few months ago a sudden spike in one of our core network switches. Observium flagged the interface as saturated, and I tracked it back to a misconfigured backup job. Without Observium, I probably wouldn't have caught it until users started complaining.

  ### 2. A valid platform for network monitoring that highly supports a wide range of device

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Observium?**

The platform has a very strong and proactive support team that helps its customers resolve the challenges they may be facing and give feedback to all the questions that customers may be asking hence it has great customer service. The software is very easy to use and understand hence all its users can use it without acquiring any learning skills as it is a self-explanatory tool that has helped even the non-tech individual to use it without any difficulty. The platform has enabled users to get near real-time alerts when there is an error either the power has failed or the device is down as it has an alert checker feature.

**What do you dislike about Observium?**

There are a few cons that I have noticed since I started using the platform but it doesn’t mean that it is not the best platform to use it just needs some improvement to be great in the future. One of the things to be improved is to make the documentation more understandable and it should make availability of more customizations in the dashboards to make it more smarter tool by doing so the software should be given a five star.

**What problems is Observium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The product has enabled most of the users to be alert when then there is an error and also allows the user to track historical graphing of the network devices. The platform is a great benefit to most businesses as it helps to ensure there is are best network connectivity and troubleshooting is solved hence offering great customer satisfaction. The software is nice as it ensures there is networking monitoring for variety devices.

  ### 3. Great Network Monitoring Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew L. | IT Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Observium?**

My most used feature in Observium is the Alert checkers and I like that I can send those alerts to email and via Webhook to get near realtime alerts when something has gone wrong whether it is a device down or a stacking cable or power supply has failed.

**What do you dislike about Observium?**

I don't have many dislikes, but if I had to find one, it would be some devices don't have support at this time, and adding new MIBS can be complex or straight forward, but I don't have experience doing that. I only have a single model of device that is not recognized well, so for me, it is not a big deal.

**What problems is Observium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Obserivum is allowing us another method to track historical graphing of network devices as well as alerting us when something is down. One of our most reliabel pieces of software we have.

  ### 10. An auto- discovering software capable of network monitoring for various devices.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Orlendo M. | Technical Support Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Observium?**

According to us, Observium is a highly efficient network monitoring software, and it is one of the advantages is it's auto discovering and its ability to support a variety of devices and Operating systems. We have found it very prompt in its action and is also supportive of the SNMP devices and without doing anything right after its connectivity with the device it initiates monitoring and graphic tracing. Hence in this way it has proved itself to us as a time-saver. With its recurrent updates, it is getting more and more improved and efficient. Also, its support team is proactive, professional, and responsive. It is very easy and simple to understand.

**What do you dislike about Observium?**

I think it should improve and make more customizations available to the dashboard it would make it a more smart tool. It is unsupportive to the custom graphs and this bothered me a lot.

**What problems is Observium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Observium is an excellent tool that is capable of network monitoring for a variety of devices. It also supports SNMP devices and is very easy to use and understand .and right after its connectivity with the device it initiates monitoring and graphic tracing. Its dashboard customization needs more improvements and it is unsupportive to custom graphs these two things are what I consider as its flaws.

  ### 11. A network management and monitoring that could be slightly less frustrating.

**What do you dislike about Observium?**

It is very frustrating that setting up alerts is more complicated than it should be.
You have to use programming language and logic to make these work and documentation on this can is sub par.

**What problems is Observium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Obeservium helps us keeping track of printer usage, NAS Storage and network devices usage /errors.
During diagnosing, it is helpful to figure trends of traffic on separate devices.
