“Made bookkeeping manageable for my freelance work”
What do you like best about Xero?

I’m a freelance full-stack developer and used to track everything in spreadsheets. After about a year with Xero, I can’t imagine going back. I use it mainly for creating and sending invoices, reconciling bank transactions, and tracking expenses.

I’ve connected Stripe and PayPal so clients can pay directly from the invoice, which has definitely sped up payments. The bank feed pulls in transactions daily, and I usually spend a few minutes matching payments and categorizing expenses like software subscriptions or hosting. It’s way more organized than my old manual setup. I also check the Profit & Loss report every month to see how things are trending. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xero?

Some of the accounting terms still feel a bit heavy. Setting things up the way my accountant wanted took some trial and error. Occasionally, the reconciliation suggestions aren’t perfect, especially with partial payments, so I have to double-check. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?

It keeps my finances in one place and makes year-end prep much easier. I can clearly see who’s paid, what’s outstanding, and how much I’ve actually made. For a solo freelancer, it fits well without feeling overcomplicated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Flexible ERP with Robust Features, But Needs Strong Support”
What do you like best about Acumatica?

I really appreciate that Acumatica supports our entire business from lead management to sales orders and fulfillment. I find it flexible, easy to use, yet operationally robust and functional. It allows us to replicate the business processes that the market demands and to do so in a functionally correct manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

The richness of the product requires more serious support from Acumatica that we seem to have difficulty accessing, at times. We currently use Acumatica as our VAR, and they have structural issues that have led to a negative experience. The transition from Sage 100 was initially painful, taking 3 years to convert. Challenges came from end user non-participation and lack of serious commitment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Acumatica solving and how is that benefiting you?

Acumatica supports our business from lead management to payment collection. It's flexible and easy to use yet robust, and it lets us adapt to market demands in a functionally correct manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Workiva Makes Reporting and Compliance Smooth, Collaborative, and Stress-Free”
What do you like best about Workiva?

What I like about Workiva for audit management is how it turns a normally stressful, paperwork-heavy process into something surprisingly smooth. It centralizes all audit evidence, documentation, and findings in one platform, so you don’t waste time chasing files or reconciling spreadsheets. Real-time collaboration, automated workflows, and built-in audit trails make it easy to track progress, ensure compliance, and keep everyone on the same page, basically turning audits from a headache into a well-orchestrated, almost satisfying process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Workiva?

What I dislike about Workiva is that it can feel a bit overwhelming for new users, especially with so many features packed into one platform Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Workiva solving and how is that benefiting you?

Workiva is solving the problem of manual, fragmented audit processes and the risk of errors or missed compliance requirements. By centralizing audit documentation, evidence, and workflows in one platform, it ensures that everything is organized, traceable, and easily accessible. This benefits us by reducing time spent on administrative tasks, improving accuracy, streamlining collaboration between audit teams, and ensuring full compliance, making audits faster, more transparent, and far less stressful. “A "Must Have" for any Accounting & FP&A Organization wanting to Implement Best Practices”
What do you like best about FloQast?

I've now purchased and implemented FloQast as three companies, the reviews from 2015/2020 still hold true with added benefits of the dedicated workflow management that I now leverage in my FP&A function, truly having a one-stop shop for a CFO organization ensuring all deadlines are met with ease while enabling controls/confidence in the numbers each month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FloQast?

They continue to build features users actually want vs a product roadmap defined by "product people" that don't understand the real "in the trenches" challenges. 20/10 would buy again at the next gig. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Powerful Automation, Improvable Connectivity”
What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

It seems to me that Sage Intacct has many tools and functionalities. We switched to Sage Intacct because it has too many functionalities. While some things may be lacking, it makes up for it with many other functionalities and add-ons that the application has. It helps us a lot in the accounting area when it comes to recording, modifying, and adjusting invoices, as well as in the automated calculation of taxes and the download of complete reports. Additionally, the connection with other applications, like Rippling, allows us to synchronize transactions with corporate credit cards. I also value the greater customization option that Sage Intacct offers to create specific and detailed reports, something we didn't have with our previous software, QuickBooks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

It seems to me that there should be more connectivity with other third parties, for example, with banks, in order to have updated information every day to reconcile accounts more easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?

“Real-Time Data Sync Revolutionizes Financial Reporting”
What do you like best about LiveFlow?

The most impactful part of LiveFlow is the automated, real-time data sync. In the past, our financial reporting was always lagging. By the time we manually pulled reports from QuickBooks into Google Sheets, the data was already several days old. Especially when we're waiting for a third party team to reconcile our account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LiveFlow?

The initial setup of complex, custom-mapped reports can take a little bit of time. However, the LiveFlow support team is super responsive and helps bridge that gap quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LiveFlow solving and how is that benefiting you?

We struggled with accurate cash flow forecasting. Because our actuals were updated manually, our forecasts were often based on outdated assumptions.

LiveFlow solves this by keeping our actuals current. This has made forecasting so much easier because we can now see our real-time cash position and runway at a glance. It allows us to perform instant variance analysis and make strategic pivots based on what is happening now, rather than what happened last month. It has saved our finance team hours of spreadsheet gymnastics every week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Seamlessly Customizable Cloud ERP with Robust Global Capabilities”
What do you like best about NetSuite?

I really like that NetSuite is very easy to customize. You can hire a consultant to customize the system or write a script, and the system can be expanded or tailored based on different business needs, making it almost like a bespoke system for any business. It's also very easy to use and understand. Being a 100% cloud-based system is a great benefit, especially since we have people working across the globe and it allows us to see data in real-time without waiting for transactions to process. So, yeah, it's a great benefit to have such an easy-to-customize and fast cloud-based system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

Sometimes, if there's a feature that doesn't work with NetSuite, it can take ages for them to address it with an enhancement because not a lot of customers may want it. Sometimes, there's no workaround, and these enhancement requests can stay in the NetSuite world for ages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is NetSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?

“Great tool for scalable enterprise planning”
What do you like best about Anaplan?

The flexibility of the platform and its calculation engine are the biggest strengths. Anaplan allows you to model complex business logic in a transparent, scalable way without relying on traditional code, which makes it easier to iterate quickly as requirements change.

I also really value the dimensional modeling approach and the ability to connect planning across multiple functions in a single platform. From a model builder perspective, the ecosystem (UX, ALM, integrations, community, and enablement resources) makes it easier to maintain governance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Anaplan?

Anaplan has a steep learning curve and requires disciplined model design to stay scalable.

Anaplan is not ideal for highly transactional use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Anaplan solving and how is that benefiting you?

Anaplan replaces fragmented spreadsheet-based planning with a connected platform that supports advanced forecasting, rapid scenario analysis, and governed processes. This results in faster planning cycles, better forecast accuracy, improved transparency, and more reliable model management as solutions scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Datarails Makes Monthly Reporting and Budgeting Seamless”
What do you like best about Datarails?

The product makes my monthly processes a lot easier. I hold management account meetings once a month and it allows me to pull numbers from the system with ease. We have just gone through our budget process using datarails and it has been one of the easiest processes. Everything gets consolidated automatically and we can do review of the figures very easily which makes things a lot more seemless. I also like how the older versions of the files are all hosted on the platform which means if theres a mistake you can roll back the file very easily Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Datarails?

There are a few quirks. nothing that is system breaking but you definately need to learn how to use the systems before you have a full grasp of all the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Datarails solving and how is that benefiting you?

As i mentioned earlier with our budget process it means that the numbers can be shared automatically and will update across all reports in the system meaning less time spent updating reports or recalculating overall figures. “A True ERP Companion”
What do you like best about Velixo?

I'm a business analyst where I work. As a result I am not as much of a daily user of Velixo as others in the company. I do however still use it and I am the only "admin" for it. Basically, if the team needs a new report or way to use Velixo, it's me they look to to create it. As a result, I feel uniquely equipped to speak to its value as both a user and someone who configures its use for others.

Our team is much more familiar with Excel than any ERP. As a result, Velixo gives them data in a format they are already familiar with and know how to use.

What I like best is how all of that connects to the true power of Velixo, which is a live connection to our Acumatica database. We don't have to struggle through dated reports because we can pull the data in as it updates through Velixo. That provides flexibility that is more difficult to create natively in Acumatica. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Velixo?

The only thing I would like to see "improved" or even just added as a feature is a change the Drilldown function. Currently, the Drilldown pulls up another sheet, but rather than just pull in a list of the transactions or relevant data, it hyperlinks to Acumatica. This is fine. You get to the data. But you have to go into Acumatica to see the data you really want. And then you have to export back to Excel if you want to re-arrange it in any way. It just feels like extra steps that could be reduced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Velixo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Velixo solves a number of problems for us. But the biggest is live data. As I mentioned before, having data update in real time as opposed to having to export data to run reports is remarkably valuable. It's huge for us.

We've used it handle our monthly income statement report. We have sheets for MTD, YTD and Rolling 12. It's amazing to be able to set up a parameters page, let Velixo formulas drive the data and enable each team to get their data as needed. Plus, they can obviously look at different versions of the data with different variables. All without someone having to run a new report.

For me specifically, as someone who handles lots of system admin tasks for Acumatica, it's fantastic to have a tool people already know how to use. Not having to spend time training users on how to get the data in Acumatica or honestly even set up a dashboard for them frees up a lot of my time. Velixo doesn't really do anything you can't do in Acumatica. But it does provide a meaningful and near instant way for users to do it without requiring the knowledge of how to configure data in Acumatica. It's flexible. It's real time. And it's familiar.

So, what does it solve for us? Well, it empowers our team to be able to get the data they need. And I am all for empowering team members instead of making them reliant on others or a report that gets sent out once a week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has easy integration across all the platforms we use, allowing us to manage stock in 2 locations, all drawing from the same warehouse. This really revolutionised the way our staff pick products, eliminating the need for paper, pen and clipboard faff. “New Online Version Regresses Many Standard Capabilities To Capture More Profit”
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

nothing at the moment. Can't wait until after 2025 tax seaon to switch Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online has deliberately removed the ability to print IRS-compliant 1099 forms with boxes, a feature that existed for years and is still required for many established workflows.

There is no technical limitation here — the data exists, but the form layout is intentionally suppressed to push users into paid e-filing. This forces businesses and accounting firms to either pay extra, manually re-enter data into IRS PDFs, or use third-party services.

This is a clear regression, not an improvement. It increases cost, wastes time, introduces error risk, and creates unnecessary compliance confusion. Removing core functionality to coerce add-on purchases undermines trust in the platform.

If you rely on predictable, standards-based accounting workflows, be aware that QuickBooks can and will remove them without notice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Fulcrum Review”
What do you like best about Fulcrum?

We have been using Fulcrum ERP for approximately 18 months in our aerospace manufacturing environment, and the experience has been very positive overall.

Fulcrum provided us with a dedicated onboarding integration specialist who guided us through the setup process. This individual was not only highly knowledgeable about the software, but also flexible and open-minded in helping us align Fulcrum with our aerospace-specific requirements. That willingness to adapt was critical in ensuring that we could maximize the system’s potential from the start.

Fulcrum stands out as a job shop ERP system designed with manufacturers in mind. One of the strengths of the platform is that it allows customers to either build their processes from scratch or migrate data from an existing ERP system. The software itself is robust, intuitive, and comprehensive, covering a wide range of functions needed to run a manufacturing operation efficiently.

While Fulcrum cannot customize every feature for each individual customer, they actively listen to client feedback and often incorporate widely requested changes into future updates. Compared to other ERP systems we’ve used, Fulcrum demonstrates a clear commitment to leveraging new technology and adapting to industry changes.

After the onboarding phase, Fulcrum transitions customers to a dedicated customer service representative. This continuity has been refreshing — it’s much more efficient to have a consistent point of contact rather than working with a different support agent every time. Both the onboarding team and the ongoing support staff have been knowledgeable, professional, and responsive.

Fulcrum has proven to be one of the most forward-thinking and comprehensive ERP platforms we have worked with. However, as with any ERP investment, success depends heavily on the effort put in by the customer. Clean data and thorough employee training are essential. I cannot overstate the importance of working closely with the onboarding specialist to ensure the system is configured correctly and that your team understands how to use its tools to their fullest potential.

Fulcrum has exceeded our expectations as a modern ERP solution for manufacturers. Their commitment to technology, customer input, and professional support make them stand out in a crowded field. We would recommend Fulcrum to other manufacturers seeking a flexible, evolving, and customer-focused ERP system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fulcrum?

Like most ERPs, there is a significant learning curve. Success really depends on the quality of training and how disciplined the company is about keeping data clean. The onboarding phase requires a lot of focus and coordination. If a company isn’t fully engaged during this time, it can limit how effectively the system is set up for long-term success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Fulcrum solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before Fulcrum, information may have been scattered across spreadsheets, paper travelers, or legacy ERP systems. Fulcrum centralizes everything into one platform, reducing duplicate data entry and errors. Fulcrum helps us better manage work orders, scheduling, and capacity planning. This ensures we know where each job is in the process and can adjust quickly if priorities change. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
