“Xero Makes Invoicing Easy”
What do you like best about Xero?

I only use it to write invoices, but it makes it very easy to enter in information and see what the invoice would look like to the client. It is also nice that Xero easily tracks costing of every individual SKU.

Editable invoice are nice because sometimes we have to omit or add information to clients. It's great to have templates too to not overwrite previous versions.

I use Xero multiple times a week and it's nice to be able to use a software that makes this task super easy.

On the accounting side, I believe Xero makes tracking different transactions based off account, bank transactions, and credit memos very easy. Our accountant seldom has trouble using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xero?

Lots of manual clicking when the UI looks like a spreadsheet and you think you can press enter to go to the next row but you can't. Deleting vendors is a bit of a pain as well. What do you like best about Novi AMS?

Novi is more than just software; it is a community of associations who are all welcoming, collaborative, and willing to share their insights. What has stood out to us since the beginning, including during onboarding (2019), is the level of customer support they provide and how responsive and supportive the team is. Anytime I’ve had a question or needed help, they’ve been quick to jump in and make sure things get resolved. I also really appreciate the community of other associations using Novi; it’s welcoming, collaborative, and a great place to learn from peers.

The software itself is reliable, with strong features and robust reporting that make our work easier. We can configure a multitude of features to fit the specific needs of our association, rather than feeling boxed into a one-size-fits-all model. All features and updates are included in the price with no upselling or "nickel and dime"-ing. It’s very clear that Novi listens: our feedback actually shows up in product updates, which come regularly and make a real difference in how we use the system and can serve our members.

We've easily integrated with multiple other vendors for a robust connection of data and varying levels of member access to a variety of resources.

Their pricing is transparent and worth every penny (and then some). It was a noticeable increase in cost from our previous AMS, but Novi is an absolute game changer. It changed the course of my own career; I used to spend a good amount of time manually entering accounting transactions into QBO, but since implementing Novi I've had the opportunity to focus on strategic initiatives vs. administrative support.

Novi is critical to our Association's success. Most staff are in it every day, and it successfully serves as our 'source of truth' for all operations. I cannot imagine using another AMS again, and I don't anticipate we'll ever need to! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Novi AMS?

There is nothing I truly dislike about Novi. I would say a challenge of ours that has to do with our own capacity, is staying abreast of the features from releases. I've never opened Novi and felt 'lost,' but there have been times when we've realized that a feature that has already been released could improve our own workflow. Novi publishes easy-to-read release notes, hosts webinars on big releases, has a plethora of helpful support articles, and is incredibly easy to get ahold of for questions. Novi has streamlined so many processes for us. The integration with QBO reduces administrative burden, the committee management helps us keep track of volunteers and their meeting attendance (automatically!), collects NPS scores, helps us identify which of our members may be at risk for non-renewal, offers pre-built and custom reports to create any report you could possibly need, and serves as an integral part of our business operations. We’ve had a largely positive experience with Acumatica. The platform is reasonably priced, especially given the breadth of functionality it offers. It’s also highly customizable and scalable, which has allowed it to fit the specific needs of our industry and continue to adapt as our organization grows.

A major advantage for our team has been how well Acumatica integrates with Excel and Velixo. Being able to import and export data easily, build reports, and work within a familiar Excel environment has made our financial reporting and analysis much more efficient.

We’ve also found the support team to be responsive and helpful, which matters a lot when implementing new workflows or refining existing ones in a system as robust as an ERP.

Pixl8 has solved so many pain points for us. Here are a few of the most noteworthy problems they’ve helped us address.

Our student membership application process used to be completely manual. Roughly 600 applicants would complete a form, and a staff member had to enter each one into our AMS by hand every year, since we couldn’t previously run them through a renewal process. Now it’s all handled seamlessly through ReadyMembership.

We also used to have a take-home exam that relied on a downloadable PDF. Applicants had to print about 20 pages, handwrite their answers, scan everything, and then submit it for approval. Thanks to the Pixl8 team, our exam has now been digitized — they were able to figure out a way to make it happen!

Finally, our certification application process used to be extremely time-consuming. It involved downloading and manually completing PDF affidavits, waiting for sponsors to download the PDFs and write comments, and tracking where applicants were in the process through spreadsheets. Now the entire workflow has been converted into a 100% digital application and approval process, which has cut down a significant amount of staff time and our applicants can now obtain their certifications in a timelier manner. What do you like best about Finaloop?

Solves a lot of ecom specific challenges with bookkeeping. Specifically, I appreciate how it manages our pre-orders by using deferred revenue for pre-orders that are unfulfilled. I also appreciate that is connects with so many of our sales channels, like Shopify and Amazon, to give us up-to-the-day accuracy. They way they are managing Shopify Collective and dropship vendors is a huge improvement over QBO and even their own previous methods. They are constantly innovating to improve features, and customer service always replies quickly. We have a quarterly call to make sure everything is working properly. What do you dislike about Finaloop?

I've had issues over time, but most of them have been solved. My only current complaint is loans are not automatically expenses and amortizes on a monthly basis. To manage this, their team handles them periodically. My understanding is that a fix for this should be implemented soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Finaloop solving and how is that benefiting you?

I do wish contact information were visible in the member directories without having to request each business card separately.
