What do you like best about Canva?

I love that Canva has many templates that you can use or modify. Very often, I'm able to get an idea and find a template that's close to what I want, allowing me to modify it from there. If I know exactly what I want, I go straight to a blank canvas and work from there, adding the items I need. Another thing that's very helpful is the ability to upload my own photos and graphics to include in the material I produce on Canva. The initial setup is very easy; you just upload some logos, choose typefaces for your brand styles, and jump straight into templates or blank designs to get started. It makes it easier to explain ideas, workflows, and plans without switching to another tool. I also like the Scheduler because it saves time when setting up meetings and keeps everyone on the same page. What we appreciate most about Microsoft Outlook is that it keeps email communication, scheduling, and calendar management together in a single platform. Since most of our internal and external communication still happens through email, having direct access to calendars, meeting invitations, contacts and tasks helps keep daily work organized without jumping between multiple applications. The integration with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 has also been valuable. Scheduling meetings, managing shared calendars and coordinating across departments became much smoother once everything was connected through the same ecosystem. Search is generally reliable as well, making it easier to locate older conversations, attachments and meeting details when needed. For day to day business operations.

One challenge with Outlook is that inboxes can become difficult to manage when email volume increases significantly. Important conversations can sometimes get buried beneath automated notifications, long email chains and recurring updates, requiring users to spend time organizing folders and rules to stay on top of priorities. We have also noticed that shared mailbox permissions and calendar access settings can occasionally create confusion for less experienced users. While search usually works well there are still times when locating a specific attachment or older email takes longer than expected.

Before standardizing around Outlook, meeting planning, calendar updates, and email communication often required more manual follow-up and created unnecessary delays when coordinating across multiple departments. By bringing email, calendars, contacts, and meeting scheduling into one place. Outlook has made communication much more structured. Teams can coordinate meetings faster, track conversations more easily, and maintain better visibility into schedules without relying on multiple tools. As a Learning and Development Coordinator for a small-sized organization, my primary use case for Synthesia is transforming standard, text-heavy training manuals and compliance PowerPoints into engaging video content. We use the platform to generate onboarding modules, software walkthroughs, and internal policy updates featuring AI avatars. Because our workforce is distributed across various regions, we also heavily rely on Synthesia to instantly localize and translate our core training videos into multiple languages without ever needing to hire external translators or voice actors and What I Like the most about Synthesia is how incredibly intuitive and fast the entire production workflow is. You absolutely do not need any formal video editing or animation background to create something that looks highly polished and professional. The quality of the AI avatars is genuinely impressive; the subtle micro-expressions, lip-sync accuracy, and natural head movements make them look surprisingly human, which keeps our employees engaged. The text-to-speech engine is fantastic, and I love that I can simply drop my training script into the editor, select a presenter that matches our corporate culture, and have a ready-to-publish SCORM-compliant video in minutes. It completely removes the constant struggle of trying to book a quiet room for recording or begging our busy subject-matter experts to sit in front of a camera. What do you dislike about Synthesia?

While it is an amazing tool, there are a few frustrating limitations that we have to work around. The biggest con for me is the lack of deep emotional control over the AI voices. The standard voices sound great for dry, informational compliance training, but if I am trying to build a soft-skills module where the avatar needs to convey excitement, empathy, or urgency, the delivery can still feel a bit flat and robotic. Another major pain point is how the pricing and credit system is structured. Editing a video after it has already been generated consumes your monthly video credits all over again. This feels unnecessarily punishing if you notice a tiny typo in the script after rendering and just need to make a two-second fix. The absolute biggest problem Synthesia has solved for our L&D team is the absolute nightmare of updating outdated training content. In the past, whenever our internal software had a minor UI update or the company changed a specific HR policy, we had to scrap the old training video, re-hire a voiceover artist, and rebuild the asset from scratch, which was expensive and took weeks. A real-life example of this happened just last month when our legal team abruptly updated our data privacy protocols. Instead of panicking and launching a whole new video production cycle, I simply opened our existing Synthesia project, edited three sentences of text in the script, hit generate, and uploaded the fresh, updated video to our learning management system by lunchtime. I mostly use Calendly for interviews, quick client calls, and follow-ups, and honestly it makes scheduling a lot less annoying. Before this, I used to coordinate times manually over email or Slack, and it ended up wasting more time than I expected especially when different time zones were involved.

The booking links are probably the most useful feature for me, because people can just pick an available slot directly without all the back-and-forth. I also like the reminders and buffer settings, since they help prevent overlapping meetings and reduce last-minute confusion. What do you dislike about Calendly?

One thing I’ve noticed is that calendar syncing can sometimes take a bit of time to update availability correctly. It doesn’t happen all the time, but during busier schedules I’ve run into a few cases where the timing didn’t reflect properly and I had to manually adjust it afterward.

Some of the routing and availability settings also felt a little confusing at first, especially when I was managing multiple meeting types at the same time. What problems is Calendly solving and how is that benefiting you?

Calendly has largely solved the constant back-and-forth scheduling problem for me. Before using it, I was manually coordinating times through messages, emails, and calendar checks, and it honestly got messy pretty quickly once multiple people were involved.

Now I typically just send a booking link, and meetings get scheduled much faster with far fewer follow-ups. The timezone handling and reminders have also helped cut down on missed meetings and unnecessary rescheduling, which makes day-to-day scheduling feel a lot smoother overall. What do you like best about AhaSlides?

I appreciate how easy it is to use and how interactive the slides are. There are endless possibilities and they have added more engagement and humor into conversations, which is fantastic because it keeps the energy in the room high! I've integrated polls, word clouds, and reactions easily and can import other slides easily. The customer service is so responsive, which I appreciate because other services that I use have been very hard to get in contact with. What do you dislike about AhaSlides?

The only downside is the QR code to scan. It can be small for people who are in the back of the room. I've printed out QR codes on table-tents and encourage people to sign into the slides on their way into the room; there are great work arounds. Also, if internet is slow/not available the slides won't work. I have to inquire with the room host if internet is available and if it's ok to use for bigger workshops so I don't tie up the internet for the entire building. I mainly facilitate in person events and people attend during their workday. By encouraging them to participate on their devices I notice that people are more engaged and less inclined to check computers or work devices during our time together.
