"Smile.io Delivers Great Value for Merchants and Customers Alike But is Seriously Let Down by Weak Billing Protocol"
What do you like best about Smile.io?

I recently had to speak with Smile.io's support team regarding an issue wherein we were being overcharged for orders made on our site, when in fact they were our TikTok Shop orders, which due to our logistics set up, are sent to our packing station through Shopify. They [support] promptly sorted the issue and rectified the discrepancy. However, this "fix" did not last and by the following month they [Smile] were requesting an upgrade to our plan because we had exceeded the plan's order limit, although our store's orders were well within the limit. What do you dislike about Smile.io?

What do you like best about Smile.io?

The integration with Shopify is seamless and clean. It doesn’t feel clunky, and everything shows up right on the customer account page. After upgrading, our customers can now see their points directly on the website, which has made the experience feel much more professional and transparent. What do you dislike about Smile.io?

The pricing can be high for a small business, especially as you upgrade for more features. I also wish bonus campaigns were more flexible. Currently, bonus campaigns multiply regular points during a set time period, but you can’t easily assign a flat bonus (for example, +50 points for purchasing a specific product). To do that, you have to use Shopify Flow, which adds complexity. It would be much easier if Smile allowed simple product-based bonus point rules directly inside the platform. What do you like best about Smile.io?

The service is easy to set up and use, and the customer service team has been very helpful. Integrating it with my BigCommerce website platform was super simple, and the dashboard is straightforward and easy to navigate. I was able to set up my rewards program within minutes, and I’ve been extremely happy not only with the return on investment, but also with the app’s performance on my website. What do you like best about Smile.io?

Smile.io is a very user-friendly and well-structured loyalty platform that works seamlessly with Shopify. The onboarding process is simple, and it’s easy to launch a loyalty program without heavy development work. This was especially helpful for our team since we wanted something efficient but flexible.

One of the biggest strengths is how customizable the program is. We can easily set up points, rewards, referrals, and different earning actions that align with our brand and customer behavior. The flexibility allows us to test and adjust our strategy without disrupting the customer experience.

The dashboard is clean and organized, making it easy to monitor member activity, redemptions, and overall engagement at a glance. Even for non-technical users, the interface makes it simple to understand what’s working and where adjustments might be needed.
