The concept, although their solution was problematic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Firstly it took ages to set up - integration was not straight forward, customer service took ages to help - lots of misunderstanding and back and forth. Then we started getting fraudulent commissions occurring - customer service originally said these were fine. We finally blocked the multiple fraudulent commissions which were 'unexplainable'. Finally just when you think things are okay, our account get's hacked/taken over despite us having a sophisticated password - somehow they changed the email address to theirs via Referral Candy's software.
All I get is emails saying an attempt has been made to change my email, if this was not me please get in touch... we then could not access the account, and surprise surprise, Rererral Candy customer service is off work for the weekend. So much for the 'if this email change was not you, please get in touch urgently'. A terrible experience, especially after all the persistence trying to get it working. I love the idea of this product. As the head of marketing for an e-commerce company, having an easy way for our customers to evangelize our product is so important, and being able to give them and the people they refer an incentive is great. I like that this platform very easily integrates with our e-commerce platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This platform was touted as super easy to set up...and it is. If you want to use their template and their copy, you can just launch and go. But if you want to really understand how the platform is working, you're going to to have to spend a lot of time digging through. Finding where you can edit the assets they provide is much harder than it should be if you want to do any level of advanced editing. In fact, the UI is far less intuitive than they probably think it is. The stock email they provide isn't even CAN-SPAM compliant, which is worrisome. What else are they forgoing to make the platform so easy to get up and running?? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Currently we are working with the customer service team from RC to get something set-up to implement for our customers in 2018. They are responsive, easy to work with, full of great ideas and 100% willing to go with what we are comfortable with to start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fees to work with ReferralCandy, while they may very well pay off in the end, are a bit high for our liking and we have had to delay implementing month after month while trying to get them approved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of setup on this account was awesome! I liked that it was not heavy lifting at all to get started with Referal Candy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I did not like that it was hard to remove the Referal Candy branding on our forward-facing communications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Referral Candy integrates nicely with our site provider CrateJoy and provides customizable and brandable emails and widgets that look great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is some additional functionality we'd love to see as far as integrating with our system, such as a "Refer X people, get X coupon". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything was very easy to set up and maintain. Almost everything is there waiting for you and you can completely customized everything. We were able to make everything match our brand and be what we wanted it to be with minimal issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You cannot have multiple campaigns, referral and affiliate program in one. Templates are easy to customize but you cannot do a lot of HTML or CSS changes so you are limited in some ways. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy setup and integration with Shopify store, nice automation for sending emails to advocates Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Reports are lacking and it would be great to have integration with other email software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
can get setup pretty quickly. doesn't require a lot of effort. templates for sending emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They need more variation in incentives. The ability to choose referrer and referee or just one would be good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Without able to develop our own in-house solution, this referral system works pretty much well out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost is way too high. But as an MVP solution this is good to start quick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was very easy to use and implement when we were looking for a referral program for a start up company. Not very expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Limited bells and whistles, did not have a customer advocate who helped get the best bang from our buck for the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When looking at referral program options, ReferralCandy jumped out as 1) easy to set up, 2) an inexpensive option for a startup. Many referral programs are expensive, I'm not saying their not worth it, but if you have a small customer base and want to start testing referrals, Referral Candy can get you up and going for just $25 a month. The out of the box integration to woocommerce required a bit of coding to make it work properly. This wasn't a huge deal for us, but this could be cleaned up to allow a marketer completely install ReferralCandy and get the referrals flowing in, without any development help. Beautiful interface that is fairly easy to set up. The price is a little high, but for how easy it is for users to complete its worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Support is essentially useless. Wasted 4+ hours of time and bounced from the platform due to the absolutely helpless responses. It honestly felt like someone was pretending to know IT. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
