EMR Software

Typically, EMR is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best EMR Software.

Elecronic medical record (EMR) software is used by medical professionals to track patient data over time. The software stores patient information that used to be on paper charts, things like treatment history or prescriptions, digitally. In addition to tracking patient data, EMRs also allow doctors to identify when patients need checkups, monitor patient vital signs, and improve the overall quality of care. EMRs should not be confused with Electronic Health Records (EHR) despite their similarities. EHRs have the same functionality as EMRs, but they cover a broader range of functionality by connecting the entire healthcare experience. So, in addition to storing standard clinical data, they share information with other health care providers like laboratories and specialists. So, the main distinction between an EMR and an EHR is an EMR will not allow the patient data to travel outside of the practice which it was captured, whereas EHRs allow sharing of information across providers.

“All-in-One ModMed Platform That Streamlines Check-In and Saves Time”
What do you like best about ModMed?

The most helpful thing about ModMed is having everything we need in one platform. It helps us keep patient demographics up to date by confirming details at every check-in, which is a definite plus since we always want the most accurate information on file. Klara also speeds up the check-in process by using our forms, and patients seem to like being able to complete the paperwork before they come into the office. On top of that, we save paper.

Compared to other EMR's, ModMed lets you verify insurance eligibility for the clinic day with a single click, which is a real time-saver for anyone responsible for checking eligibility. The schedule is straightforward as well; when you hover over the patient tab, it displays the information needed for clinic days, and the overall layout is simply amazing. Another bonus is being able to check a patient in without having to walk to the back office to let the medical assistant know they’ve arrived.

All I can say is that I wish my practice had implemented these great features from the beginning of being with the company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ModMed?

So far, I can’t say there’s any real downside to ModMed. We’ve run into a few glitches here and there, but the staff responds quickly and gets the issues resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Affordable Telehealth and Helpful Support, but Group Notes, Invoicing and Couples Billing Need Work”
What do you like best about Carepatron?

The cost is affordable, and telehealth is included, for single or multiple people on a call. I also appreciate how helpful they have been, and how willing they have been to hop on a call with me to address issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Carepatron?

Group notes aren't intuitive, and don't work as easily as on other platforms. There needs to be a way to put couples into a group, and use this group as the unit of treatment. Right now, I have to add each person individually each time, and I can't use a prior note. Instead, I have to start all over each time. This is a pain.

Also on the notes, there is weird functionality with the Editor versus Responder roles. There should be a way that I can have a signature on file which is used on every document that I virtually sign.

The billing for couples also doesn't work well - the system requires me to bill one person of the two, and then shows an unpaid amount for the second person (as though I should be billing each person in a couple the full amount). Also with billing, there is no easy way to show the entire amount collected in the prior month. I modified the dates on the billing page, but this wasn't carried over to the invoicing page, and on that page there was no way to request the information for the prior month. This information should be readily available.

I don't use AI with my clients, so I can't speak to that area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Carepatron solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is helping me solve the problem of being unable to bring multiple people into a call, and it has saved me some money, but I'm not sure these things are worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Intuitive, Evolving Platform That’s Improved Our Practice Workflows”
What do you like best about splose?

We've been using Splose to manage our occupational therapy practice for several years, and overall it's been a great platform. It's intuitive, continually evolving, and backed by a company that is clearly committed to innovation and improving the product. The team is responsive, and new features are released regularly, which gives us confidence that the software will continue to grow with our business.

Overall, Splose is an excellent practice management system that has significantly improved our workflows and efficiency. With continued attention to the fundamentals alongside its innovative roadmap, I believe it has the potential to be the leading practice management platform for allied health. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about splose?

We would love to see a greater focus on refining the core functionality before introducing more advanced features such as AI. Some of the everyday features that practices rely on, particularly report template formatting, still need improvement. As a healthcare provider, the reports we produce are a direct reflection of our professionalism, and limitations in formatting can make it difficult to create polished, consistent documents.

We've also provided feedback on a number of practical workflow enhancements over the years, and while Splose is receptive to suggestions, some of these fundamental improvements can take quite a long time to be implemented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is splose solving and how is that benefiting you?

Managing ever-changing requirements in the NDIS space. For instance, new features or adaptations of features in Splose help us to stay compliant and effectively manage invoicing, monitoring service agreement funds usage, processing referrals and setting up client files with all the required information. “Consistently Excellent Support and a Smooth EHRYW Implementation”
What do you like best about EHRYourWay?

Our organization has been working with EHRYW since summer of 2024. I have had consistently positive experiences with EHRYW overall, including communication, problem solving, and customer service. EHRYW was very helpful in the implementation process, ensuring that we had ample time and space to ask questions and explore the new environment. Additionally, since we’ve rolled out, we have been very happy with the customer experience - the support staff always responds to my many questions or requests quickly and professionally. Regardless of the individual addressing our support tickets, everyone has been very helpful in investigating back-end things, fixing bugs and providing context so that I can better conceptualize the EHR environment which has been really helpful in thinking through ways we can further customize to meet our needs. Recently, I was working on a ticket with a support member who let me know that the system did not have the functionality to support my request, but he also provided some alternative ideas to my original request, which allowed us to meet our needs in a different way - just a way I wouldn’t have thought of without the collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about EHRYourWay?

As with all EHRs, there are limitations - though I will say that the team is always seeking opportunities to further develop and improve systems and functions - and they also solicit feedback from users to better understand customer needs, etc. Clients have reported varied feedback about the client portal, but it is difficult to determine if that is user error, access issues (such as inconsistent internet access) or truly feedback that belongs with the EHR itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is EHRYourWay solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our primary focus at this time is working to streamline our workflows (clinical flow, reporting, etc) to improve clinician and client experience as well as to improve our data collection practices. The EHRYW team is great about responding to any questions, concerns, and requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Zanda (formerly Power Diary)?

Functionailty (when it works)

The functionality is in depth and somewhat intuitive, but often parts of it don't work or are changed without notice, and this is disruptive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Zanda (formerly Power Diary)?

The lack of customer support.

I am often gaslighted by the support team who drag their feet to get anything done, and are more worried about pink banners and name changes than fixing basic functionality.

All I can imagine is the owner spends his time patting people on the back for dramatic statements of flair within the software, whilst annoying customers with taking forever to get anything done.

If only they'd operate ethically - putting the prices up without notifying their ustomers then blaming the customer for turning off their ridiculous 3 million emails a week two years prior for not receiving the email update and thus not being aware.

This is after being told they don't send important notices via email, they will come via the Facebook group or the software.

The support and 'customer service' in this software is rubbish.

If you're looking to get a new clinic software, avoid this one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Pabau Practice Management?

What stands out most to me is how well everything connects together. It genuinely feels like a complete system where appointments, notes, communication, and follow-ups all link seamlessly. It makes the whole clinic run more smoothly and gives you a lot more control over how you manage patients. Furthermore, the support from the Pabau team has been great, especially our dedicated support team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pabau Practice Management?

There is a bit of a learning curve at the start, but once you get familiar with it, it actually becomes one of its strengths because of how much you can customise and tailor to your clinic’s needs. It just takes a little time to fully unlock its potential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Pabau Practice Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about Prompt Health?

The system brings together all clinic operations on a single platform, making management much more streamlined. We were able to bring billing back in-house. The reports generated offer precise data, and I have experienced little to no downtime throughout the workday. Prompt is consistently focused on enhancing the system’s efficiency and accessibility. Our onboarding specialist, Jami Swedick, was amazing and continues to be a priceless client success manager to us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Opus: The New, The Next Level Technology & The Needs a Little Work”
What do you like best about Opus?

Opus is a well-designed mental health platform that blends clinical usefulness with an intuitive, calming interface. For practitioners, one of the standout features is how effortlessly it handles documentation—notetaking and client tracking is a breeze. The system feels thoughtfully structured, making it easy to stay organized without adding administrative burden.

The platform’s guided programs, mood-tracking tools, and daily check-ins offer practical support for clients, translating emotional patterns into clear insights. Opus also adapts its recommendations over time, providing personalized suggestions rather than one-size-fits-all content.

While Opus is strong overall, there’s still room for refinement. Some users may want more granular customization for symptom or trigger tracking, and the educational content—while helpful—could be deeper in certain areas. Integration with wearables or more robust analytics would also elevate the experience.

Even so, Opus succeeds at what it sets out to do: streamline workflow for professionals while offering clients accessible, evidence-informed support. It’s a reliable, thoughtfully built tool that enhances both therapeutic practice and client engagement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Opus?

What could be better:

Billing & Hours = More Headaches

While Opus has made some processes smoother, billing therapists and tracking hours has actually gotten trickier. What used to be simple now takes a bit more clicking, guessing, and double-checking.

Calendar Learning Curve

The online calendar has a unique style—which is a nice way of saying it took a minute (or several) to get the hang of. Once we adjusted, it was manageable, but the transition wasn’t exactly intuitive.

Insurance & Billing Setup Woes

Unfortunately, the initial setup by the Opus team missed the mark. Insurance and billing info was entered incorrectly, which meant we had to go in and manually fix client details ourselves—not exactly the time-saver we were hoping for.

However, the OPUS team has been superb in making sure our questions have been answered, our needs were met, and our "needs a little work moments" were as few as possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Opus solving and how is that benefiting you?

Opus is helping streamline a lot of the daily admin tasks that used to eat up time and energy. Things like and using the chat feature are now way more efficient and accessible. It’s basically taken some of the chaos out of managing client logistics and made everything feel a little more organized and centralized—which means we can spend more time actually supporting clients and less time wrestling with scheduling or paperwork. “Spry’s Intuitive Design and Hands-On Support Transformed Our Clinic Workflow”
What do you like best about SPRY?

Spry has been a game-changer for our clinic, primarily due to its intuitive design, seamless onboarding, and exceptional ongoing support. The platform is easy to learn and navigate, allowing our team to become efficient quickly, while Spry’s team handled our migration and continues to provide hands-on guidance through dedicated clinical and billing account managers. Their support has improved both our workflows and revenue processes, especially by optimizing insurance and cash-pay systems. Additionally, the robust reporting tools give us clear insight into profitability and operations, helping us make smarter business decisions. Overall, Spry has not only increased our efficiency but also strengthened my confidence as a clinic owner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SPRY?

One downside of Spry is the occasional system glitches. While they aren’t frequent, they can be frustrating when they occur—particularly when the HEP program doesn’t sync with the note as expected, requiring extra time to correct. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SPRY solving and how is that benefiting you?

Spry is solving several key challenges we faced with previous EMR systems, particularly inefficiency, poor usability, and lack of meaningful support. Its intuitive design and streamlined workflows have made daily operations much more efficient, while the hands-on onboarding and ongoing support ensure issues are quickly resolved without disrupting clinic flow. Additionally, Spry addresses gaps in billing and business visibility by providing dedicated billing support and robust reporting tools, allowing us to better manage insurance versus cash-pay services and clearly understand our clinic’s financial performance. As a result, we’re operating more efficiently, collecting revenue more effectively, and making more confident, informed business decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Intuitive and Efficient EMR That Simplifies Documentation and Auditing”
What do you like best about Kipu EMR?

I really appreciate how intuitive and user-friendly Kipu EMR is. The layout and navigation make it easy to complete daily tasks efficiently without needing extensive training, which has significantly streamlined my workflow. For example, documenting client information and updating records is straightforward and quick, allowing me to spend more time focusing on client care rather than administrative work.

The feature I find most valuable is the chart summary and AI chart snapshot. These tools are incredibly helpful when auditing files, as they provide quick, centralized access to a client’s documents and key information without having to navigate through multiple sections. This has saved me a significant amount of time and made the auditing process much more efficient and thorough.

Another thing I really appreciate is the level of support available. The built-in help feature allows you to easily submit a ticket or connect with a live support specialist, and I’ve found their team to be responsive and helpful in real time.

Additionally, I feel that the value Kipu provides aligns well with its cost. The time savings, efficiency improvements, and auditing capabilities make it a worthwhile investment for our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kipu EMR?

One limitation I’ve encountered is the inability to track no-show appointments through the reporting feature. Since no-show attendance is an important metric for our organization, not having a built-in way to report on this creates extra manual work and reduces efficiency in our reporting processes.

Another challenge is with the billing audit tool, specifically that it does not transmit the time of service over to CollaborateMD. This creates gaps in invoicing accuracy and requires additional steps to ensure billing information is complete.

Additionally, some of our forms are quite lengthy, which can slow down the system and impact performance. This can make documentation more time-consuming, especially when working within larger or more detailed client records.

Addressing these issues would greatly improve both reporting and invoicing workflows, while also enhancing overall system efficiency and user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kipu EMR solving and how is that benefiting you?

Kipu EMR helps solve challenges around managing assessments, establishing medical necessity, and maintaining accurate client health records in a centralized system. Instead of working across multiple tools or tracking documentation manually, everything is stored and organized in one place, which improves both efficiency and accuracy.

A key benefit for me is the ability to build and customize our own forms within the system. We were able to recreate our assessments and medical necessity documentation to match our existing processes, which made the transition to Kipu very smooth and allowed us to continue our workflows without disruption. This flexibility has been extremely valuable.

Kipu also makes it much easier to keep client records up to date and accessible, which supports compliance and ensures that all required documentation is complete. Combined with features like the chart summary and AI chart snapshot, it allows for quicker reviews and more efficient auditing.

Overall, Kipu EMR is helping streamline documentation, maintain compliance, and reduce administrative burden, allowing more focus on client care and operational efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fusion by Ensora Health?

What do you like best about Weave?

Integration is fantastic between phones, text, reminder system, faxing, etc. This is a powerhouse and it interfaces with our antiquated EHR system, even though the EHR vendor makes no effort to allow for or support the interface. Functionally this is a very good communication platform. They fix problems and develop new solutions all of the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Weave?

The business problems that Adit has solved for me is sending out reminder texts and automatically confirming appointments in our book, saving me time in having to write out lengthy texts to patients about their dental insurances and just being so much more efficient than what we were using before! “Flexible Insurance, Credit Card, and Messaging Options in Nexhealth”
What do you like best about NexHealth?

The multiple different options for insurance, credit card, and messaging Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NexHealth?

for Statements/payments: there is not an option to send the full family statement owed without putting in a custom amount and note, when sending a payment request it does not give an option for the patient to select a certain amount to pay only gives the option for the $ amount owed - if there was an option for the office to select a range of what is to be paid that would help receive more payments I believe, if a statement is sent if that could be automatically synced with eaglesoft to make a note in the chart (like the payments) do that it was sent that would be helpful, some patients have a $ amount but are set in eaglesoft to not receive statements (due to collections or certain insurances) and still show up on NextHealth with $ amount making certain ones have the option to not show up due to this or age would help clean up the $$ amounts that are actually due

For Insurance Verification I understand there are some insurance that just do not sync well or nexhealth is unable to review, if they would open their range to more insurance companies that would also be helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Successful EMAR transition”
What do you like best about ECP?

ECP is very user friendly for both staff, administrators, and HR. Our implementation process had it's troubles but I recieved awesome support. Our implementation Specialist, Nick Munden gave quick responses, had amazing attetion to detail, and really went above and beyond in several ways. We use ECP daily for all of our EMAR needs. ECP has tons of features that really allow you to customize it to fit your communites needs. When we switched to ECP getting everyone familiar to a new system took some training but overall the integration process was not too labor intensive. Our staff were able to catch on quickly to this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ECP?

ECP could improve the bowel monitoring process. There is not really anything in place currently to be able to quickly see who has not had a BM in x amount of days. This would be a huge benfit to our staff and residents. Additionally a "911 quick print" button would be very helpful for emergency situations. This could allow staff to be able to print all needed info in one click of a button. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ECP solving and how is that benefiting you?

ECP is a very quick, sleek and smooth EMAR system. Our previous EMAR was so slow and caused a significant amount of issues for many years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
