I use Gracely for instant communication without complicated phone trees and electronic payments. It lets me text the whole membership easily and quickly, making it simple to remind people of events or inform them of last-minute changes. We are in a hardcore growth phase now, and we often have workdays or quick meetings with very little notice. Gracely ensures that those are still well-attended without a ton of prep for me. We are still working out some kinks with our children's church ministry. Signing the children in and out without creating a new profile for them each time can be a bit of an issue. I used HeyGen and its free HyperFrames for faceless YouTube creation. It is supposed to be simple to use with an agent, but the UI changes constantly and the avatar results add unnecessary gestures. I lost count of how many times I had to reconnect HyperFrames, and it took hours to generate a simple motion graphic. The output often had crooked line charts and graphs that I could not use. For programmatic motion graphics, an open-source option like Remotion (remotion-dev/remotion on GitHub) run through Claude Code is free, takes a fraction of the time, and is much faster to edit. HeyGen solves the problem of appearing on camera without filming. The digital twin lets me produce presenter videos without recording sessions, which saves time. For faceless YouTube content with charts and motion graphics, it did not save time. I spent hours per simple graphic and still had to fix the results, so I moved that part of my workflow to Remotion with Claude Code, where I can generate and edit faster at no cost. The only thing I'm not fond of is having to set up a two-group registration for anything child or student related. We have issues getting the second form conpleted. When you'rel ooking at a registration of over 100, that gets daunting to track down parents and have them complete the second form (because they think they're done). OnStage simplifies the organization of songs, avoids tedious PDFs, and enhances the live experience by allowing musicians to follow my screen without moving their hands from the instrument. One area where I think MS 365 could improve is the integration and support of Copilot across the different applications. Sometimes it works really well and helps me get things done quickly, but other times it fails. Sometimes it can be hard to design the slides. I wish there were more options with how you could do charts, for example, and more calculation options other than using and paying for AI (like simple built in calculators to plug in research numbers). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Class discussion is better in low participating classes, I don't have to come up with as many games on my own. I also use Kahoot! a lot less, which is expensive and has fewer options that I want in the unpaid version. Low pay version is still so expensive and the cost for AhaSlides is so much less. My biggest wish is for more advanced image-editing capabilities within the platform. I often have to rely on Photoshop or other design tools to tweak images before importing them into Synthesia. The main weakness of PowerPoint is that creating a high-quality presentation from scratch can still be very time-consuming. PowerPoint gives you almost unlimited flexibility, but traditionally you have had to build the storyline, slide structure and much of the design manually.

We solve most of this problem by using Slaide alongside PowerPoint. Slaide handles much of the AI presentation generation and initial slide creation, while PowerPoint remains the environment where we finalize and fine-tune the deck. PowerPoint gives us a universal environment for creating, editing and delivering professional presentations. We use it for everything from internal business presentations to client decks, strategy presentations, pitch decks and more complex analytical slides.

Its biggest benefit is that we never feel restricted by the software. If a slide needs to be adjusted, rebuilt or customized in detail, PowerPoint gives us the tools to do it. That is particularly important for professional presentations where small formatting and design decisions matter.

The ROI is very strong because PowerPoint is already deeply integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem and has become a standard file format across our workflow. Onboarding is also relatively easy because most professionals already have experience with PowerPoint, while advanced users can go extremely deep.

Our workflow has become considerably faster since adding Slaide as the AI layer. Instead of spending hours creating the first draft manually, we can use Slaide for AI presentation generation, content structuring and slide creation, then move into PowerPoint for the final refinement. My biggest frustrations with Subsplash are the learning curve and the overall usability of the administrative backend, especially when it comes to the database, people management, and worship planning tools. Having worked with Planning Center, I found its people management and worship planning workflows more intuitive and easier to navigate. The transition from Fluro to Subsplash has also been challenging, and I would really like to see a cleaner, more user-friendly database for tracking members and keeping information accurate and up to date.

I also wish Subsplash offered a simpler, SignUpGenius-style volunteer sign-up option for Sunday morning worship and other ministry opportunities. Right now, we rely on a physical clipboard for sign-ups and then manually enter that information into Subsplash, which creates extra administrative work. A more streamlined, self-service sign-up system that integrates directly with scheduling and people management would be a significant improvement.

Finally, the platform’s complexity makes it time-consuming to train additional staff and administrators. While I still believe Subsplash is the best all-in-one church management platform I’ve used, I’d like to see the administrative tools become more intuitive, efficient, and easier for an entire team to manage day to day. Subsplash is addressing the challenge of managing church operations, giving, communications, and digital ministry across multiple disconnected software platforms. Before implementing Subsplash at Faith Lutheran Church, we relied on separate systems for our church management database, giving, website, email communications, and other ministry needs. That meant multiple logins, cumbersome workflows, and extra administrative work. I also had to manually compile information in Excel to provide the council with the membership, giving, and other reports they needed.

By consolidating these tools into one platform, Subsplash has helped us streamline operations, centralize information, and create a more connected digital experience for our congregation. The integrated Giving Management, website, app, livestreaming, and TV apps have been especially helpful in extending our ministry beyond the church building, while reducing the burden of managing several separate systems.

On a personal level, it has simplified technology management for me, improved communication, supported online giving, and provided better tools for both our congregation and ministry leaders. It has also given us a stronger foundation for reporting, automation, and future growth. While the administrative database and certain workflows still need improvement, I believe investing in Subsplash has been worthwhile. It lets us focus more on supporting ministry and less on juggling disconnected software, and I’m encouraged by the potential of newer features like Workflows and AI integration to further reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency. I love AI but it needs to get much better. I tried to give full instructions about each slide: header, description, questions, etc. and it makes whatever it wants. When this gets fixed it will be super powerful: you can work on better questions inside chatgpt and deliver instructions to mentimeter to get your perfect survey in seconds. The biggest frustration is Vyond’s compression algorithm that degrades our high-res commercial photos after upload. Our studio delivers large, sharp product images shot for retail and food brands, and when importing these files into Vyond, the platform automatically downsamples the imagery, softening fine textures, color gradients, and product details. When we built a promotional animation for a luxury skincare client, I imported our retouched product photos directly into the scene, only to discover the exported video washed out subtle packaging textures and muted the brand’s carefully calibrated color palette. I spent nearly six hours exporting scaled-down copies of every photograph, testing different resolution presets, and re-uploading assets repeatedly to reduce compression artifacts. For a recent restaurant campaign animation, our client requested custom voiceover paired with subtle ambient dining sounds. I had to record, edit, and mix all audio in an external audio editor before importing the finished track into Vyond. On top of that, Vyond uses a credit system for video exports, and every download consumes credits regardless of whether the file is a test draft or final client deliverable.
