What do you like best about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?

I like that BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) cuts down on delays in receiving receipts and processing time. It collects receipts immediately in real time from employees and integrates seamlessly with our accounting software, which eliminates the need for data entry and reduces the chance of clerical errors. One thing that could be improved is if the system remembered prior selections, like for fuel charges, so that we don't have to manually change them every time. What do you like best about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?

We love how easy it is to set up and sync with QuickBooks. It also gives us a great way to control spending by creating budgets, using virtual cards, and accessing a ton of other helpful features. Tech support has been great, and they really come in clutch when we’re trying to figure things out. It is easy to add new users and remove old users. Implementing the card was easy peasy. What do you like best about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?

I like most of the tracking of our bills being paid and the reports that are given for me to easily then put it into our system for balancing. I also like that I can pull up specific payment dates for filtering, and the report shows the company that was paid and the amounts as well. Being able to filter for specific categories in these reports is most helpful because it allows me to easily determine in that payment cycle how much was spent in certain categories. What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?

The customer service is not good. It feels disjointed, like dealing with a third party to another third party company. They often act like they don't know which part of their app we use, though they have my information. They can't answer questions about specific check numbers or payments to vendors without stopping communication to contact someone else, which takes a day and results in more questions that should already be known. It's infuriating. Additionally, having to void a check takes too long because of back and forth communication, making it feel like they don't know what's going on internally. What do you like best about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?

The interface is very easy to use, not just for the end users (card holders) but especially for me as an administrator. I can easily see everyone's receipts, make sure things are categorized correctly, make sure that all the required data has been entered, reports are easy to run and edit because they are downloadable in excel. What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?

One small request would be the ability to add additional information to the card transactions, i.e. project number. We send the spending to the projects and it would help a lot if we could have a customizable field that would let us make that connection that would automate the allocation function. My downside is more about the onbboarding experience and not the Spend and expense side but the setup of everythign to sync over to my system. I need to do a call to get our sync and setup correct. I like how user-friendly BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) is when it comes to tracking receipts, making it easy to get rid of the old paper trail. I find the capability to just capture a photo and upload it really easy to use. The upload tool is great compared to the old-school way of having to track down receipts from employees. I use BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy) for most of our spending, and I really like getting the rewards and not having fees. I'm confident in giving cards to all our employees, which makes expense management much easier. The rewards and flexible card and budget options, including both physical and digital cards, are great. I really appreciate how easy the transaction portion of BILL Spend and Expense is to use. I can quickly monitor and update expenses for our entire team, which makes staying organized much simpler. I would love a feature that could take our organization’s budget and automatically create the groups and spending limits based on the information provided. What do you like best about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?

The biggest benefit is that it’s a free platform. When I was researching credit card platforms for my organization, Divvy was one of the only no-cost options available. That alone gave our management the confidence to choose it over other platforms that charge per user.

I also appreciate how straightforward Divvy makes transaction review and approval. Adding new users is simple, and training usually takes only 15–20 minutes. During onboarding, it was especially helpful that we could work with Divvy to implement custom fields that fit our needs. Having those fields sync directly to our accounting software was truly a game changer and SIGNIFICANTLY reduced our credit card reconciliation time.

The Divvy app has made a big difference for us as well. Many of our cardholders are surveyors who may travel across the country and mostly have travel-related expenses. The app lets them upload receipts in real time, which has helped cut down on missing receipts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BILL Spend & Expense (Formerly Divvy)?

Creating users is super easy, but I find budget creation and management difficult. Applying funds to new users or adjusting funds for existing cardholders can be glitchy at times, and it honestly doesn’t always let me make the changes I’m trying to make.

On top of that, the rebranding has been difficult for my organization. We use Bill Payables & Receivables for our invoicing and for our contractor payments, and the Divvy integration has caused severe login errors for several of our users who have both a Divvy card and a Receivables account. This is something I’ve referenced in past help center cases.

It’s also become much more confusing for people to clarify which Bill platform they’re referring to. It’s a lot to say Bill Payables & Receivables and Bill Spend & Expense, and it creates unnecessary confusion in conversations. We still just call them Bill.com and Divvy, and we’ll likely never change that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
