Blackboard remains difficult in the area of navigating around the site. Once you are familiar with it, it's fine. But having to keep navigating the changes as it updates, makes it difficult. Providing feedback to students on written assignments is still very clunky and counter-intuitive. It also can be difficult finding the right procedure for using previous courses. My experience is mostly with Blackboard Original, and this version of the LMS is simply outdated. An ancient user interface, lack of modern LMS features, and functions that simply break with very little explanation as to why from Blackboard (now Anthology) Support makes this LMS a very difficult one to recommend.

I have been using Blackboard since 2008, starting with Blackboard Vista and later transitioning to Blackboard Learn in 2010. Over the years, Blackboard has proven to be an excellent platform for both students and professors. Although Blackboard is a well-designed LMS, there are some areas that could be improved. One major concern is customer service, which, while generally good, could be more responsive in addressing technical issues, especially during critical times such as the beginning of a semester or during final exams. I feel that the way it looks and feels is a little outdated. Now that we are moving to Ultra course pages, I am a little dismayed to hear that a number of features that used to exist are going to go away. Would also like for groups to continue to exist with an individual Zoom link available for the group so that participants don't have to rely on their own Zoom account. The options to hosting lectures, recording within the same platform, and sharing the content. The built-in whiteboard and quick integration of course slides for a live lecture. Ability to host and sync labs, exams, and quizzes. Easier to use, implement, and integrate tasks at the start of the semester with excellent customer support.
