There is not much to get the hang of. I like that the teacher can give multiple attempts. Does not compare amazingly compared to its competitors. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** So expensive. When I bought my textbook for my course it came out to $200 CAD. that's absolutely terrible price for an ebook. My peers paid through our school library and it was cheaper. Tried to contact them a countless amount of times, no one would help me or even refund half of the money. **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** The only problem I solved is a got a decent grade with this platform. But, I would personally never use this again. They scammed me for $200 CAD and I would never make that mistake again. Poor customer service as well. Hard to say anything else once about them because of my bad experience ### 3. The information and feedback provided are plenty, and it eases the stress from me as the instructor to have this resource available. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** I dislike that assignments can't be customized. Sometimes a single question is not relevant to our course or students, and I'd like to remove it and keep the rest of the assignment, but this is not yet possible. **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** The benefit of providing students with extensive feedback without being the one to manually input all of the feedback is a real treasure. ### 5. However, sometimes when you input an equation into the answer box correctly, it will mark it as incorrect. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** I don’t like how the instructor account is set up. It can be slightly l confusing and look scattered. It would be better if it was more organized. **Recommendations to others considering WebAssign:** It is super user-friendly, great for beginners! **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** Assists with student and faculty collaboration. It was more efficient than paper math homework. I also liked that it had the upload files ability, which I haven't seen in any of the other math homework submission systems that I have tutored students in. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** It was difficult for my students to enter answers. It was not always clear what formatting was necessary, and entering the proper math formulas in the boxes was time-consuming and difficult, not like other systems I have used. They could get answers wrong for what seemed to be no logical reason. Buttons and menus also seems to be located in odd places. The system just reminded me of older systems, or systems I used in the early 90s, versus other math homework systems I have used that fit my 21st century organizational expectations. **Recommendations to others considering WebAssign:** Be very aware of the clunkiness of the system. Items are not arranged or located logically. Make sure to properly train your students on the system. Be very clear in how you expect answers to be entered. **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** It was an efficient way to assign and grade lower level college math homework. It also provides a way to provide students with near instant feedback on their homework. I believe this aids the learning process, versus students have to wait up to weeks later to find out if they completed the question correctly or not. This allows a student to learn and correct errors more efficiently. ### 7. It is easy for me to see assignments, due dates, and submit assignments. It has also always ran smoothly. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** Sometimes hard to enter special symbols, as you have to manually select them. It can also be hard to type in complex expressions with things like exponents, parentheses, subscripts, etc. **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** WebAssign has made it so much easier in my college courses to get homework assignments done. It allows me to check my work, practice extra problems, see due dates, and go back to review assignments right in one place. The technology is seamless and never seems to do things that do not work. There are many working parts to webassign and some things do not work well with Mac OS. It allows students to do practice problems with a small amount of guidance for the questions themselves. It generates questions that integrate multiple concepts to demonstrate their relationship to students. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** It is not the most user friendly software, and can be tedious to use for the student. It is not the most helpful, and it's interface is cumbersome. It displays all of the questions on one screen, and this can be exhausting. Additionally, it randomly generates different problems for different student to minimize cheating. **Recommendations to others considering WebAssign:** Please explore other options. this may not be the best solution to your class's needs. If the instructor is not adept enough to impart proficiency into his students, then WebAssign will only burden the students with assignments from which they will not learn anything. The user interface does not help either. It is not attractive towards the current generation of students, and would benefit from being more "catchy". **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** WebAssign allows instructors to give homework assignments to student without having to correct it by hand. Webassign will do the grading for the instructor so that TA's do not have to get involved. This frees up time for more office hours, and more supplementary lecture time if needed. It also allows for instructors to track the progress of their students throughout the semester by setting assignments periodically. ### 11. Its easily accessible for students to do their assignments. It autogrades homework. And gives good feedback if the student misses the question. It is also relatively customizable so instructors can choose what problems to assign to students. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** Sometimes the website grades the problem incorrectly. It will sometime assign the incorrect number of points to a problem so the instructor has to go back and manuelly adjust the score. The website also requires that the students type in a precise answer in a certain format so even if the answer is correct, the student may get it incorrect for small reasons like this. **Recommendations to others considering WebAssign:** Improve the user interface. Also resolve bugs. And improve customer service. Sometimes they are unreachable which is inconvientent at times. **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** Webassign is an efficient way to grade and assign homework to students. ### 12. It allows both students and faulty to see their improvements and where they need to improve, and is incredibly helpful for end-of-semester grading and communication with TA's and tutors. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** I dislike the maximum number of tries, I would appreciate an override feature for that. It's great for distance learning and assigning virtual assignments. Note that you can only sign up once you have an access code from the teacher. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** As students, you have to pay to access the homework, and the subscription isn't permanent (meaning you have to keep renewing). In other words, it's kind of pay-by-semester, which for students, obviously, can be costly or not ideal. **Recommendations to others considering WebAssign:** Price is sort of expensive; so be wary of costs up front and for renewal later. Be careful of buying the subscription right away (if you purchased a textbook, sometimes you can get the access code for the site with it). **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** Instantly assign homework questions to students (as instructors); for students, instantly access and answer homework questions assigned. The support team is helpful but do expect to have issues sometimes with the site or properly accessing the course info. ### 14. They could not make it more simple to use and this allows anyone to learn it quickly and efficiently. Some of the best things about this product are that I can teach whoever steps into my office how to use it. Another thing I like are the updates that are made to this product and how we can us that to even better ourselves more. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** The only things that I do not like is that it can seem clunky at times but that can be overlooked because of all the positives. It is easy to track the student process and view their scores. The wide variety of available content makes it good for every discipline. **What do you dislike about WebAssign?** It is not good from a student's viewpoint. Webassign has decided to make their codes as cloudy and hard-to-use as possible. Some codes work for different products and only those products, other codes work for a wider range of items. The program is quite difficult to use for students too. **Recommendations to others considering WebAssign:** This website works well, but I personally prefer Pearson's MylabPlus. **What problems is WebAssign solving and how is that benefiting you?** This significantly reduces the workload for instructors. In brief, instructors create assignments online within WebAssign and electronically transmit them to their class. Students enter their answers online, and WebAssign automatically grades the assignment and gives students instant feedback on their performance. ### 24.
