**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

I like that it has a ton of features and integrations to function in an online or hybrid classroom.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

It's too cumbersome. There's a lot of legacy built around new features. Many times it gets confused and reverts back to its legacy homescreen.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It integrates a course into a one stop shop for all access and materials.

  ### 21. Amazing LMS System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Penny G. | Faculty Lecturer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

It's ease of use/navigation.
The gradebook is straightforward is simple to manage.
Posting feedback on submitted assignments works well.
Smooth course copy.
I have used Blackboard for over 12 years between institutions. I am now having to switch to a new LMS and prefer Blackboard better.
I used it daily and still use it at one institution.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

The one main downside I have found with Blackboard that if I have a student that is allowed extra time I have to manually enter it for each quiz

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I teach 4 to 5 classes with it at the University/College level.

  ### 22. Now is the time to Switch to Blackboard Ultra by Anthology

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob S. | Alumni, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

This is not your father's Oldsmobile. Blackboard Ultra by Anthology has successfully made the shift from a clunky, inacccessible LMS to a well designed, accessible, streamlined course home for students and instructors. After trippling their development resources, Anthology is now leading the pack in learning management systems. The best thing is that students 'get it.' There is no confusing navigation inolved. This LMS comes with a clean design and industry leading AI-enhanced features that will allow instructors to focus on the things that matter.

It plays well with others! All of the major publishing tools and LTI integrations are available. The new LTI standards in use with Ultra allows for deep and seamless integration for students and faculty alike. Switching to Ultra is a breeze. Anthology know has an Ultra Adoption toolkit that makes implemenetation a much more manageable process that tyring to go it alone.

In summary. Now is the time to switch to Blackboard Learn Ultra by Anthology. If you are looking to making course content more accessible to your students, making the most of your instructor's time, and taking the step into next-level course management, then I highly encourage you to take the plunge!

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

Note: Most of my dislikes about Blackboard learn are already on their roadmap for improvement. In the past two years, Anthology has been really reponsisve to client feedback, so we look forward to these frowns being turned 'upside down' in the future!

- lack of embedded images/links in emailed course announcement
- inability to post announcements to specific groups
- no subject on course messages
- Ally doesn't check HTML blocks on Ultra documents

Again many of the things I think are 'missing' are already on the roadmap....not evertything can be developed at the same time.

My one other 'disllike' is also being worked on. We have had more than one change in Tier one support over the past few years (as is expetcted when a company gets folded into another comapny). There have been some stumbles and growing pains along the way in front-line support and communication. As Anthology and Blackboard continue to evolve, I expect this to ameliorate.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ultra is making course content more accessible and available to students than ever before.

  ### 23. Satisfied Blackboard customer of over 20 years.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

The customer service provided by our account representative.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

There has been a transition period during their joining Anthology where resources have been realigned.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackboard allows us to host 99% of our classes in it's instructional environment that span a multitude of modalities and locations.

  ### 24. Blackboard review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Ultra has a very clean fresh look that students appreicate. Feedback is that is is easier to follow and they really find the progress tracking helpful. The fact that the content can only be in one place makes it less confusing to the students. Once you have moved to Blackboard Ultra you will never want to go back. I do feel it is the best LMS on the market and only continues to make improvements.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

I would say the biggest issue right now for instructors is the grading time. If that could be improved it would be wonderful. Also the students have a hard time "seeing" the feedback I leave as it is several clicks in.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They continue to make improvements monthly and are making wonderful additions for accessibility and design. It gets easier and better everyday and I can't wait to use the new features this year.

  ### 25. fairly good for assignments - not good for tests

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

it's fairly to use. I am not too tech savvy and i don't have problems with assignments & announcements, etc. I don't use the other discussion functions, etc.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

Giving feedback on written work is harder than it needs to be. It seems after I click return, I have to go back and reset the color, etc. When i have 40 assignments, it jus twastes my time.
Also, when I try to download their documents, they become PDFs. That's hard if i want to provifde feedback via WORD and the tracking codes, etc.
During a test, it appears they can access ChatGPT and google. That's counte3r intuitive for a test. If that can be prevented, our IT guys don't seem to know about it.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BB Ultra is easeir to use than the former.

  ### 26. Continuous Release - Contiunous Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Megan F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

I have worked with BB Learn in both a LMS technician and Online Design/Technician roles and I have seen both the backend and faculty/student facing aspects of Blackboard Learn. From managing the transition from Original to learn; I would say the most impactful aspect was the technical support and weekly update sessions provided by Blackboard. These aspects built a confidence in support of the product and mostly timely updates and releases ensured that the system kept running smoothly; even through hiccups.

The important thing to note is that continuous release means that the system is not released as a perfect model but will continue to evolve and hit snags along the way. The snags can be beneficial in re-working the way we think about both data management and content delivery and force universities to think outside the box. This push to creativity is necessary in the tremulous climate that higher education is facing and I feel has actually allowed colleges to push harder for online courses and education which has elevated its worth. Having a reliable LMS is vital when surviving a pandemic but also for creating new programs that can be offered solely online - this increases enrollment and reach for universities.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

While I appreciate the value of continuous release, the timing and punctuality of fixes is not always ideal. Often we are left encouraging faculty to stick it out until the fix comes through which can diminish their faith in the online learning environment.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system itself is much more user friendly and intuitive; whereas, Original was very unapealing to non-IT faculty who struggled sometimes with understanding how to use the system. The new look and feel provides similar features as Original but with significant updates and visually appealing and intuative navigation that makes the usage more universal. I would love to see more Universal Accessibility features implemented to alleviate some of that lift from course designers and technicians. I believe Ally should be an included part of the LMS system to help universities reach Federal and State ADA guidelines.

  ### 27. The only LMS solution you need for your University

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

The student facing interface is very user friendly and so does the Admin panel. Over the years Blackboard has done some of the great changes which significantly improved the way we build the courses and then deliver it to multiple classes. The most important feature for us is the ability of the system to allow granular copy of content from a different sets of courses, which is really really useful. Absolutely loved the idea of Blackboard to come up with this feature.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

The slowness due to having loads of content within the Ultra course, makes it difficult when you have to audit the courses before delivery. This is really annoying tbh and the same have been reported.
Other thing is the support, the staffs need to level up their knowledge and increase the response time. So far there is a very little improvement but a lot can be done in this area.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We deliver almost 200 courses every month, each class has their unique sets of delivery method. This is very challenging and time consuming. With blackboard this becomes just another hurdle for us. We simply split the development into two or more ultra courses based on the class requirement and then copy it into a single course, making it as a parent course to serve the all the classes acting as a child. The whole idea of Parent and Child relationship in the courses solves the classing requirement and delivering what is being asked.

  ### 28. Blackboard is an excellent LMs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrienne M. | Freelance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Very user friendly. It was easy to implement college wide. I used it everyday that I had it for all my class needs.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

I would like to be able to have live discussions or chats.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Class assignments, grades and quizzes.

  ### 29. The Ability of Blackboard Learn to Complete What I need

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melissa B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

I love the ease of being able to create modules. The newest features of being able to create images for each module creates a professional look. Students find it easy to use and frequently use it in their classes. I have easily been able to integrate my recorded lectures

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

The only thing that I really dislike about Blackboard Learn is the difficulty in the gradebook at times. They have been working on this. I use an outside publisher for resources that are graded outside of Blackboard. Previously I was not able to assign a category to those incoming grades. This semester this problem is supposed to be updated and I look forward to trying it out.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving the issue with assigning categories to outside grades earned in publisher content. This will be wonderful as my classes often have values based on type of assignment or exam.

  ### 30. The Standard in Learning Management Systems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ray A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Blackboard Learn in the app format is a rather seamless and robust application that allows for utilizing a mobile platform to access the content of the Blackboard learning managmenet system. It runs on multiple mobile platforms including iOS and Android, and works very well. All necessary options for utilizing the Blackboard LMS are available in the Learn app. This app is also easy to find in either the App Store or Google Play store and installs quickly.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

As for drawbacks to the application, there are not many. From an instructor perspective, since the mobile interface is different from the desktop, it takes a while to get familiar with it so that the same content can be found. Navigation may also take a bit longer due to learning where options are, however this will improve with continued use.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackboard Learn solves the problem of mobility. I am able to review details about submissions and manage student performance without being tied to a desktop computer. By leveraging self-graded assignments, I can spend more time helping students to improve their learning and focus on the scored results.

  ### 31. Running an elearning course using Blackboard

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marius C. | Professor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

It is extremely versatile. You can do almost any educational activity on it.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

1. Setting up online discussions is exhausting. You have to switch between the front end and the Discussion Board end repeatedly. Running mutliple threads gets difficult. Yet one needs interaction in online courses.
2. The Grade Center is really customisable. Has many features, but it is very difficult to navigate through all the marks in an online course that lasts for a few months.
3. It can sometimes be difficult to find answers in the Instructor Help section.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. It is easy to run a university course using Blackboard. You can communicate with students, get lists of students, collect and mark assignments, work out marks.
2. We are using if for an elearning course in patient blood management. It integrates with SCORM files. One can keep tract of student progress. It is easy to locate and grade any assessments that have been completed. But setting up the course in labour-intensive.

  ### 32. Blackboard is easy to navigate and meets the needs of all students.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shelby H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Blackboard is easy to use for LMS admins, instructors, and students. Integrating it with an SIS is a way to make it a great way to automate your processes to save you time. Bb recognizes the importance of a community site along with an Idea Exchange to bring forth ideas to improve. They have the right people to help implement your SaaS-based system with best-practice ideas. I have access to great support and a team of success managers to check-in on a regular basis. We have students logging in multiple times per week to stay up with their studies.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

The few things I have disliked have been addressed from the community and idea exchange to help improve the experience for all users.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackboard is always in contact with us to let us know of new improvements and opportunities to use our systems for both for-credit classes and training of instructors.

  ### 33. Decent Platform Adding Improvements Continuously

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Irena F. | Parent, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Blackboard is constantly innovating and improving. They listen to their clients.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

Like any LMS, the architecture is complex in the backend and not all the improvements we want are possible.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackboard enables our online only and hybrid learners to successfully complete courses.

  ### 34. Adjunct faculty

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura K. | Freelance Writer and Editor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Helpful aspects of Blackboard include the ease with which new assignments and tests can be created and used/updated for subsequent semesters and the number of options available when creating assignments. I find the document submission function especially helpful as an adjunct English composition faculty.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

Implementing special rules for grading on the overall grading system (not the individual grading structures for assignments)

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I misunderstood - I use Blackboard for academic purposes. It makes my job 100% easier and allows me to focus my class time on LEARNING.

  ### 35. True technology ‘partner’

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

As a product it meets our Higher Education Institutional needs as a modern Virtual Learning Environment, but Blackboard and Anthology work truley in partnership with us to ensure we getting value for money and meeting our stategic goals. Often after contracts are signed, the relationship with technology vendors dwindles, but not with Blackboard.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

Sometimes feature requests and roadmap items take longer than predicted to implement.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Embedding a campus wider blended learning, teaching and assessment strategy.

  ### 36. Best LMS so far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

I like the Blackboard platform because it is intuitive, user-friendly, and easy to navigate. It also has a number of options to manage more complex functions. I was very satisfied with the platform and its capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

Blackboard was not exciting or aethestically pleasing. In an age of rapid technological growth, it is important to present these platforms with the look and feel of advanced and modern applications.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackboard was a useful tool as a Learning Management System. As an online instructor, I leveraged the LMS to facilitate my classes. I also appreciated that it provided a convenient way to meet virtually during the pandemic when Zoom licenses were hard to come by.

  ### 37. Lost all my favorite functions since upgrade to Ultra... very sad.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Venkatesh S. | A/Prof. & Head of Pathology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

it is the only official platform for my college.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

it is loosing it's features gradually... new functions are not suitable for my use.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not much except for sharing resources to students, online quiz, etc.

  ### 38. Blackboard is the LMS of choice

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary Jane B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

The easiness of having an IL4 SaaS delivery service where you don't have to worry about updates and security scans is already amazing, but add the amazing features, AI, and all the constant innovations and improvement to the delivery of student engament, simply brings it to the top. You honestly get more from what you pay. Implementing Ultra was so painless, as it was the integration of other LTI or tools is always so easy, making my job as a LMS Administrator a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

While spmetimes communcation between the service reps can be a bit frustrating, they do listen to feedback and take complaints seriously. So I can't really blame them for being awesome!

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blended learning. It's easy for cadets to read and do assessments even while snow days occur.

  ### 39. The Ultra upgrade is the WORST platform upgrade I've ever experienced

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph Z. | President, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Integration with McGraw-Hill Connect - problemattic and clunky in the past but now seems fixed.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

The Ultra upgrade removed very important functionality that was critical in managing my class sections.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizes curriculum

  ### 40. My honest review about Blackboard

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

I really like Blackboard's backend database.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

I find the gradebook complexity very hard to navigate.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The overall purpose of a LMS

  ### 41. Reliable vendor/partner and feature-filled LMS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rachel T. | Director, Center for Instructional Technology, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Learn (original and ultra courses) are full of features that adapt to instructor, student, and institutional needs. Lots of options for classes using the LMS for everything as well as those who just supplement their face to face interactions.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

Integrating third party tools and managing them can be a challenge but this situation has been improved by the sunsetting of building blocks adn the embracing of LTI and REST API integrations...if the third parties will get their ducks in a row...

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackboard Learn as the online learning platform for all academic-facing efforts for 39,000 students and 5,000 faculty/staff. We use it for all aspects of course management. It gives a single point of access for instructional technology at the institution and allows instructors access to tools to give content, administer assessments, conduct discussions, and more.

  ### 42. System is getting there!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Blackboard Learn continues to update and advance. They are leading the way in many updates and new technologies. With the new Ultra set up, it is easy to use, and looks the way students expect a modern website to look. The LTI and API systems make integration easy.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

The new Ultra system is lacking many features original had. This does seem to be improving with time, but for now, some of those lacking features make courses more symplistic than our facutly are accustomed to.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This gives up a place to run all our online courses. Additionally we are making use of our data warehouse to write SQL queries to create all our own reporting, which has made many of our Institional Reseach folks happy!

  ### 43. 11 year BB users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

The ease of use and their responsiveness to suggested changes

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

I do not like the gradebook total score calculations.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AI Design Assitant

  ### 44. Innovative and Community Oriented

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Blackboard is a great LMS product that has shown a renewed vision of innovation and committment to their community of users and incorporates their ideas and feedback. Their Ultra format is user friendly for the instructors and students alike.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

There backend support ticketing system has been a tiered issue for a long time, but they were consistently working to make it better. So we remain hopeful that they are able to accomplish it.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great LMS that supports our students in their learning process at the University. It facilitates the instructors getting content to the students, as well as being able to assess their progress.

  ### 45. Blackboard is versatile LMS that supports a range of educational needs, making it a popular at HEI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

I love the integration of third-party tools the best in Blackboard Ultra. It was easy and seamless. The grade book is also very manageable in Blackboard Ultra, with third-party assessment scores updating every 24 hours.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

It involved a mindset change from Blackboard Learn to Blackboard Ultra. There was also a steep learning curve, and it took a lot of practice to make the module look good and have easier navigation.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackboard helps keep information securely in one place and integrates 3rd party tools that automatically mark students, thereby reducing the marking of 9,000 students. e.g. Integration of SCORM packages.

  ### 46. Blackboard is a good modern approach to LMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vinson H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

I like the simplictic interface. Makes it useable across different device types.
Upgrading from Blackboard Learn Original to Ultra was a seemless transition.
While Blackboard administration is part of my daily responsibilities the ease of administration by integrating it with our SIS has lghten the work load.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

Support could be a little quicker on returning responding but for the most part I have not had much issues with them.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly the SIS integration has helped me out a lot. I used to manually load in CSV files to create courses and enrollments. Now I run automate scripts pulling the information from our SIS. This creates the Terms, Courses, instructor and student enrollments. Its even setup to make changes to student enrollment when students add/drop classes.

  ### 47. Solid product always there when you need it.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

The stability! We have developed our own Records Management system and the integration with Blackboard is seamless. Since we went live with our records management system two years ago our users often confuse the two systems and we have to question them to learn where they are. The SSO is flawless and I have never received a call for support in that area and we assign the classes in our system and as soon as they login everything they need is available. We would never be able to manage 15,000 students with the small team we have without Blackboard.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

The only thing we would change is that we would like the Enterprise surveys for gov cloud to be repaired so the email will work again.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had to cancel almost 20 in-person classes due to some unexpected resignations and thanks to Blackboard we were able to add 10 online synchronous classes with 100 students each and cover our students. All of our clients must have 40 hours of training annually to maintain their employment and without Blackboard we would have been in a mess.

  ### 48. Anthology Blackboard Leads the Way

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

Anthology Blackboard is leading the way to an AI-empowered future in higher ed that is founded on their Trustworthy AI approach and the AI Policy Framework. Blackboard (in partnership with Microsoft) provides powerful AI assistance for course design, rubric, test, and content development--even innovative AI conversations for learning--but it insists on human control of AI every step of the way and safeguards individual, personally created content from being used without consent.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

There are always things that could be impmroved with any product--from refinements (like better drag-and-drop) to major overhauls (like huge improvements to Ultra docs), and I would like to see some of those improved sooner rather than later. However, the Anthology Blackboard Idea Exchange offers clients the opportunity to suggest improvements and enter ito dialogue with designers and product managers while other Blackboard users discuss and vote on the suggestions--and humdreds of those ideas have been implemented in Blackboard already. Amazing!

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blackboard provides a powerful yet easy-to-learn platform for faculty to ccreate and deliver engaging learning experiences, and for students to engage in those experiences and demonstrate their learning.

  ### 49. It's getting better in some ways

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas S. | Series Editor, Cambridge Elements in Morphology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

More design power is being put in the hands of users.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

The shallow folder structure is not great. The switch to Ultra was unhelpfully rapid, and the conceptual differences between folders and learning modules is unclear, as is which one you should choose for which purpose.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Distribution of learning materials (documents, weblinks, audiovisual materials).
Facilitating assessments of all sorts.
Facilitating student discussion forums.

  ### 50. Blackboard Learn and Ultra

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Blackboard?**

As a previous student I found it easy to navigate Blackboard Learn, and as an instructor I was able to get acquainted fairly easy. With that being said, I like Blackboard Ultra much better despite a shaky transition. I think that Ultra has a more modern feel and is more adaptable to mobile devices. Initially I missed some of the features that learn had available such as individual feedback for each question, but now those have been implemented into Ultra which is great. I am so excited for Content Design and the AI Assistant. Learn had way fewer bug errors then Ultra.

**What do you dislike about Blackboard?**

It is clunky in comparison to Ultra. I also dislike the way the links displayed.

**What problems is Blackboard solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate that they consider the amount of time it takes an instructor to complete a task; it is great that they are working to reduce the amount of time to create.
