### 1. CSQ DXA Turns Complex Behavioural Data Into Clear, Collaborative Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David W. | Digital Analytics & Insights Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

CSQ DXA consistently excels at turning complex behavioural data into clear, intuitive insights that resonate well beyond analytics specialists. The platform bridges the gap between raw data and real understanding, enabling stakeholders across product, UX, CRO, content and leadership to quickly see what customers are doing, where they struggle, and why it matters.
Its visual nature makes insight discovery fast and collaborative, significantly reducing the time previously spent translating analytics into something tangible for wider teams.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Mappings can sometimes be a drag, but AI has begun to make this easier.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Across our optimisation and demand‑shaping use cases, DXA has been particularly powerful in:

Identifying friction points and hesitation signals within key journeys
Providing evidence to prioritise experiments more confidently
Supporting post‑test analysis with richer behavioural context, not just outcome metrics

This has directly supported a more mature, insight‑led CRO approach—moving conversations away from opinions and assumptions and firmly onto customer evidence.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hey David,

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review. It’s great to hear how DXA helps make complex behavioural data clear and useful across your teams, and that it’s supporting a more insight led approach to optimisation.

We also appreciate the note on mappings. It’s something we’re actively improving, and we’re glad to hear AI is already starting to make a difference. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

 ### 2. Contentsquare: Indispensable Daily Insights with Stellar Support and Constant Innovation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey K. | Manager, Digital Research & Testing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

Contentsquare is one of those tools that from the very beginning, it shows how useful and helpful it can be. Whether you're just starting out on the platform or have an Enterprise level account. Honestly, I can't imagine doing my job without Contentsquare and all of the features it has. From the very beginning you have helpful support along the way helping you with implementation on your projects, and they can be as in the weeds with you as you want, or more high level providing general guidance. At the end of the day, they want the tool to work for you and they'll help you get there. I use this tool every single day, and not one day goes by where things are the same; whether that's findings and analytics, new releases for the tool, or finding a new way of learning or working. My favorite sections of the tool include Zoning Analysis, Session Replay and the new Sense Analyst feature. They are always adding new features, and considering the feedback of their customers to make it even better.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Honestly, the downside is that if you are on a very small team, at the beginning it can feel like an overwhelming amount of data, especially if this type of data gathering is new for your team. It's a great problem to have, but it can seem intimidating at the start. Depending upon the size of your projects, teams, or user pool, I would also recommend setting up some guardrails regarding access and edit ability, there are some functions of the tool that can also easily get disorganized, without a level of effort required by all users to keep them structured.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare helps us do analysis every single day. We do pre/post Experimentation analysis, product analytics and experience monitoring. We also have it on our Mobile App projects. We use CSQ to give us context into the "why" by looking at behavior of our users for any use case. What started out as mostly a function of UX/design/research, has grown into a full enterprise-wide tool; we have everyone from data analytics, customer experience, sales, etc all using CSQ for their own use cases.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hey Kelsey,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review.

It is great to hear how central Contentsquare has become to your day to day work, and that features like Zoning Analysis, Session Replay and Sense are helping you uncover meaningful insights across your teams. Your kind words about our support team truly mean a lot as well.

Thanks again for being such an engaged partner and for sharing your experience.

 ### 3. Powerful Insights with Contentsquare

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manoj B. | Assistant Manager - Digital Marketing, Marketing and Advertising, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I like how Contentsquare provides detailed behavior analysis of our targeted users on both the website and the app. The visual tools - such as heatmaps, session replays, and journey analysis - give us clear, in-depth insights into what users are doing. I also enjoy creating dashboards, and I appreciate how easy it is to build them while still keeping the level of detail we need.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

As a new user, I find it very hard to learn Contentsquare. The Contentsquare Academy content feels scattered, and overall I don’t feel the tool is very easy to use yet. Sometimes session replays aren’t smooth, which creates a lot of frustration when I’m trying to review them.

I’ve also run into limitations when creating dashboards. For example, I have to create segments just to compare two landing pages, and that’s frustrating. Finally, when I want to open a case, the team often comes back by email, but in some situations it would be much easier to get on a call and resolve it quickly.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It consistently helps us solve the challenge of identifying our target audience and targeting them effectively. There’s a limit to how much we can increase traffic to our website, and it costs money. Because of that, our focus has always been on converting the traffic we already have into more revenue and bookings.

It has also helped us reduce user frustration and make the booking journey smoother.

Overall, our goal is to optimize what we have and remove anything redundant.

 ### 4. Heatmaps and session replays: concrete insights to quickly take action

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andres L. | Employé en marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

Contentsquare's ability to visualize actual user behavior through heatmaps and session replays. This allows me to quickly identify friction points and move from hypothesis to action with concrete data.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

The export and manipulation of raw data sometimes remains limited, which complicates cross-analysis with other data sources (like Piwik Pro in my case). More flexibility in APIs and custom exports would be appreciated.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Understand the "why" - Traditional analytics show that there is a problem (high bounce rate, low conversion), but not why. Session replays and heatmaps reveal exactly where users are getting stuck.
2. Identify specific frictions - Path analysis and zoning allow me to locate abandonment points in conversion funnels and prioritize optimizations with high business impact.
3. Convince with visual evidence - Heatmaps and replays make my recommendations much more convincing to marketing and product teams.
Result: I transition from a simple analyst reporting numbers to a proactive force with concrete and measurable optimizations.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hey Andres,

Thank you for your very detailed review! We’re glad to hear that heatmaps and session replays help you move quickly from insight to action and strengthen your impact with visual evidence.
We also appreciate your feedback on data exports and API flexibility. This is valuable input as we continue improving how Contentsquare integrates with other tools.

Thanks again for taking the time and sharing your experience!

 ### 5. Important insights to continuously optimize user journeys

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica M. | E-merchandiser Transverse et Beauté, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

Contentsquare allows us to precisely understand how users interact with the site. The insights obtained help us identify areas for improvement and continuously optimize journeys and conversion performance.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

The bugs we sometimes encounter with data that is reported incorrectly, for example

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare allows us to precisely understand how visitors interact with our site and where they encounter difficulties. This information helps us prioritize our optimizations, streamline customer journeys, and improve our conversion performance while offering a better user experience.

 ### 6. ContentSquare Makes Customer Insights Fast and Actionable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melusi K. | Product Owner, Retail, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

ContentSquare helps us make informed decisions by pinpointing customer issues and frustrations. What used to take hours on end is now readily available at our disposal.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

The time it takes to get support, unless I reach out to an account manager, can take ages. This really needs to be looked at.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used to spend a lot of time implementing changes that weren’t important to the customer, or that ended up taking us in the wrong direction. ContentSquare has helped us better understand the customer journey, identify where customers get frustrated, and focus our efforts on improving those areas.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Dear Melusi,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback! We’re so glad to hear that Contentsquare is helping your team make faster, more informed decisions and better understand customer frustrations.

We also appreciate your honest feedback on support response times. That’s not the experience we aim to provide, and we’ve shared this with the team as an important area to improve.

Thanks again for being part of the CSQ community!

 ### 7. Indispensable for Detailed User Analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I appreciate the zoning analysis, funnels, and page compare features in Contentsquare. These tools help me to precisely determine what is going well or where improvements are possible, which is much easier than interpreting raw numbers in regular analytics. It is very pleasant to work with Contentsquare, and I would not quickly switch to another tool. Additionally, the initial installation was relatively easy thanks to the support from the Contentsquare team.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Creating a good mapping takes a lot of time. More guidance and organizing large groups of pages with underlying pages need to be more transparent. Perhaps a way in which you have an overarching group with subgroups.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to analyze user journeys and experiences on websites, and it helps me quickly visualize data. Features like 'zoning analysis', 'funnels', and 'page compare' make it easier to gain insight into what is going well and where improvements are needed.

 ### 8. Effortless Insights, But Setup Has Some Hurdles

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob A. | Senior cro manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I like the ease of access to data and insights that Contentsquare provides, as it means more people in the business can make data-informed decisions. The speed to insight is fast, which is really helpful. I also appreciate its configurability, as it can be set up for various business contexts.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Page mappings are a bit of a pain. I have some problems with zoning where I sometimes need to add unique ids. This is an unfortunate overhead in my context. Mappings can get complex with lots of exclusion rules.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare for quick access to page level engagement data, understanding key journeys, and investigating UX issues. It provides easy access to data and insights, making it easier for more people to make data-informed decisions quickly.

 ### 9. Contentsquare makes user journeys concrete and actionable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

What I particularly appreciate about Contentsquare is its ability to make user behaviors very concrete and immediately actionable. While more "classic" tools mainly provide numerical data, Contentsquare allows for a real understanding of the "why" behind the journeys: areas of attention, friction points, navigation logic, etc.

The tool is also very powerful for analyzing end-to-end journeys, quickly identifying underperforming pages or steps, and prioritizing UX or business optimizations. The visualizations (heatmaps, zoning, journeys) are clear and greatly facilitate sharing with non-technical teams.

Finally, I appreciate the complementarity with other analytics tools: Contentsquare provides a qualitative and behavioral insight that greatly enriches more quantitative analyses. This makes it a very useful lever for making concrete and well-argued decisions.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

What do I like least about Contentsquare? Honestly... the fact that the tool is a bit too effective.

More seriously, it highlights so many friction points, optimization opportunities, and insights on user journeys... that in the end, it generates a lot more work for me and the teams. Where we thought everything was working "pretty well," Contentsquare comes along and shows us that there are actually 10 things to improve.

So let's say the main "problem" is that it becomes difficult to ignore what isn't working — and then you have to prioritize, challenge, and implement all these optimizations 😄

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare helps us mainly to solve a central issue: understanding how users actually access information on our site, beyond what was theoretically planned in the site structure.

The tool allows us to visualize real user journeys and highlight the gaps between navigation intent and observed behaviors. We can easily identify friction points, hard-to-find content, or conversely, highly solicited areas that were not necessarily highlighted.

The main benefit is to be able to:

Improve access to information by simplifying journeys and making certain content more visible
Prioritize optimizations on concrete elements, based on behavioral data

In summary, Contentsquare allows us to shift from a "structural" view of the site to a view centered on actual usage, making decisions much more relevant and actionable.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hey!

Thank you for this thoughtful and detailed review.

We are happy to hear how Contentsquare helps you turn user behavior into clear, actionable insights and uncover the “why” behind journeys. It is great to know that features like heatmaps, zoning, and journey analysis support both deep analysis and easy sharing across teams.

We also appreciate your honest and very relatable feedback. Surfacing more opportunities than expected is something we hear often, and prioritisation becomes key. It is great to see you using these insights to drive meaningful improvements.

Thank you again for sharing your experience and for being such an engaged partner.

 ### 10. Comprehensive analyses, visible user behavior

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niels B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I appreciate that with Contentsquare I can get everything from a quick overview to a detailed analysis. I particularly like that I can compare and recognize relationships. The quick overview is especially useful when there have been changes and you want to check over time whether and what has improved. The detailed analysis supports me in a holistic approach, for example, when it comes to optimizing an area, a complete funnel, or a product.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

I have few complaints. The mapping could be a bit easier/faster, as it has been something more for very experienced users so far. In our sector, the setup is relatively complex, but we were supported in this.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I understand how users behave on the pages and can recognize user movements. This helps to optimize processes. Contentsquare offers everything from quick overviews to detailed analyses, allowing me to create comparisons and identify relationships.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hey Niels,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

We are glad to hear that Contentsquare helps you move seamlessly from quick overviews to deep, detailed analysis, and that it supports you in identifying patterns and optimising your journeys.

We also appreciate your feedback on mapping. Making it more intuitive and efficient is something we are continuously working on, and insights like yours are very valuable.

Thanks again for your thoughtful review and for being part of our community.

 ### 11. Streamlined Customer Experience Management with Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jono D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I really like the opportunity to Contentsquare data via Microsoft Copilot - it's a game changer that reduces the number of different platforms we need to use for reporting. With CSQ MCP and Microsoft Copilot, out team can create a simple prompt and pull data directly without ever leaving the platform, which is usually very time consuming. This integration will help us streamline reporting, save significant amount of time and focus more on strategic work that has real impact. The initial ContentSquare setup was extremely straight forward, between the customer success manager and the technical support teams, we were able to get it all setup with minimal interuption to BAU.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Nothing comes to mind.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to manage customer experience, proactively ensuring checkout journeys are smooth. It helps uncover UX blind spots and solves issues quickly through integrations with tools like Jira, streamlining reporting and freeing up time for strategic tasks.

 ### 12. Powerful Insights, steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony H. | Senior Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I used Contentsquare primarily for journey mapping, heat maps, and session replays. I liked being able to track when customers were logging in, moving between screens, or entering checkout and where they encountered friction . The journey mapping feature helped track customer behavior throughout the checkout process, identifying where they clicked and which fields they interacted with. This understanding of confusion points was valuable. The session replay feature was also impressive as it provided an end-to-end view of the customer's journey from pre-checkout through to purchase or dropout, offering a visual insight into customer actions.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

The learning curve was a little bit steep, especially for setting up the journey mapping tool, which didn't work out of the box and required some configuration. We needed help configuring it because the skill level within the team wasn't quite up to using it to its full capability initially. The process took a while before we could use it effectively. Also, Contentsquare is quite a pricey option, which affected our ability to get budget approval in a previous role. An lower price entry level tier would make it accessible to smaller businesses

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare provides insights into customer behavior during checkout, revealing frustration points and navigation issues that analytics alone miss, using journey maps, heatmaps, and session replays.

 ### 13. Supercharges Decision-Making with Journey Analysis

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan R. | Chief Product Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I use Contentsquare for making informed decisions with experiments, quarterly planning, and reporting on errors. It enables us to move quicker, answer questions, and discover the unknown. I particularly appreciate the journey analysis feature as it has allowed us to validate bugs that wouldn’t have been caught otherwise. For example, our newsletter pop-up fired when it shouldn’t have, and while this didn’t generate as an error, we were able to see that this was happening to users.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Splitting data by time can be far more useful. The ability to check how mornings perform on a repeating day for example can align better with marketing campaigns and differences it makes. Though we still question at times the reliability of the data.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare for making informed decisions with experiments and planning, it helps us move quicker, answer questions, and discover unknowns. The journey analysis helps validate bugs we wouldn't catch otherwise.

 ### 14. Comprehensive Analytics with Room for Customization

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** nicola z. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I like how comprehensive Contentsquare is, especially the wide breadth of data it collects. The fact that I can break down to the session replay level, or group performances by different zonings and segments, really helps me figure out which areas of the site perform well and which need improvements. I also appreciate that the initial setup was made smoother by the customer support team.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

What could be improved is the customization of sessions and building blocks that make the metrics to align with other platforms or to our own version of that metric. It would be great to be able to define exactly how these are calculated to align these values with what our vision is.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to provide analysts with meaningful data and insights, monitor trends, and gather quick data. Its comprehensive data collection helps me break down session replays and group performances, showing which site areas perform well and which need improvement.

 ### 15. Insightful Analytics with Room for Simplicity

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I use Contentsquare to find points of friction, frustration, and positive interactions alongside visual context. Contentsquare is excellent for putting the visual alongside the context, allowing us to look at content in parallel with the data to make informed decisions across wide date ranges and different markets. My favorite aspect of Contentsquare is their continued development—they work to create or integrate a wide variety of tools and are always looking for new ways to analyze and utilize data. Their amazing team supports this explorative approach, ensuring we have first-hand confidence in the platform. The new AI Sense tool is especially impressive; it uses AI to explore complex prompts and provides actionable summaries based on true personal data, which is game-changing. The academy was helpful, and the team is great for support, even if the initial learning curve can be daunting.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

There's an element of complexity with Contentsquare, given its extensive set of tools. It requires quite a confident technical skill and hardware to make the most of it. The initial setup and learning process can also be daunting, even though the academy and support team are helpful.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to find friction points and analyze content contextually with data for decisions across markets. Their continued development and AI tools like AI Sense provide actionable insights, aiding in informed decision-making.

 ### 16. Powerful Tool with a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay F. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I like the Engagement tool in Contentsquare as it helps me see which features' problems should be prioritized. It plots features on a simple chart that clearly highlights which ones should be a priority. I find it makes understanding usability problems easier compared to a tool like Google Analytics.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Selecting the right events to create a journey is challenging. It would be better if I could track my own events through a journey and have Contentsquare create a journey out of them at the same time. It's hard to differentiate between my events and others' events when on a shared network. I'm still learning how to use it, and it's quite a steep learning curve.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to discover usability problems, and it makes understanding issues easier than Google Analytics. The Engagement tool helps prioritize features by highlighting which problems need attention.

 ### 17. Empowers Insightful Website Analysis with Ease

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colin M. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I use Contentsquare to analyze and monitor our website performance, and it effectively fills in the gap between quantitative and qualitative data. It's extremely quick and easy to access the data. I really like the AI tools because they make it easy for non-technical users to access insights. The frequent product updates have increased efficiency, which is a big plus. Contentsquare offered a better user experience compared to Decibel Insight, and the initial setup was very easy. Overall, I find these aspects of Contentsquare valuable in my work.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Recent product acquisitions haven't been integrated as well as I would have liked. Make it more seamless within the Contentsquare platform, rather than multiple logins across different sites.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare fills the gap between quantitative and qualitative data quickly and easily. The AI tools make insights accessible for non-technical users, and frequent product updates improve efficiency.

 ### 18. Visual, Shareable Analytics That Drive Tangible Performance Improvements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean O. | Digital Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

Visual friendly tool that allows quick analysis that can be shared with all different teams in the business and lead to tangible actions being taken to improve performance.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

A more laborious part of the tool is ensuring your mappings are correctly setup which ensure your website pages are correctly grouped. Where this forms most of the foundations of all your data points and analysis it is critical this is done correctly, and often the user interface to do this on is not the clearest.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping solve how to optimise landing pages for conversion, using metrics like exposure rate and click engagement to understand customers most common habits as well as illustrating parts of frustration throughout the funnel.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hey Sean,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this thoughtful review. We are really happy to hear that the visual and shareable nature of Contentsquare helps your teams collaborate and turn insights into tangible performance improvements.

We also truly appreciate your candid feedback on page mappings. Getting this right is foundational, and your perspective is incredibly helpful as we continue to refine and improve the experience.

Thanks again for sharing your experience with us!

 ### 19. Revolutionized Our UX Insights with Robust Features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ellen G.

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I use Contentsquare for UX research, and I like its features like Zoning, Session Replay, and Journey Analysis. They tell me where users are clicking, if they’re missing certain content, and provide visuals on what their journey looks like and when they exit the site. These features are particularly useful because they help quantify my UX research insights and support research findings.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

AI feature could be more accurate. For session replays, you have to wait until the relevant page shows, which could be improved to make it faster. I would also like to order replays by friction on a certain page.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare helps with conversion rates and understanding user interactions to support research insights. Features like Zoning, Session Replay, and Journey Analysis tell me where users click, if they miss content, their journey, and exits, quantifying my UX research insights.

 ### 20. Data Driven Decision Making for Digital Experiences

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefano L. | Digital Business Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

What I like the most about Contentsquare is that it is a comprehensive analytics and user-friendly platform providing insights and recommendations for several business users. Here is how we leverage it inside our organization:

- Enabling the UX and analytics team to work together to identify areas of opportunity, such as underperforming pages, UX issues, and suggestions for improvement. The tool helps the team prioritize optimization, quantifying the impact on conversion and revenues of a specific issue, and better understanding where the users may be frustrated or abandon their purchase. Useful both for spot analysis or Conversion Rate Optimization Plans.

- Zoning Analysis helps UI team to optimize content based on users' preferences and behavioral metrics such as hesitation time, time before first click or click recurrences. By looking at session replays, it is possible to understand the experience of every single user deeply.

- Store Management and Visual Merchandising teams to adapt the layout and structure of main website pages, analyzing how users interact with them.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Contentsquare is rich in inputs and insights but also requires teams that can effectively leverage the functionalities.
The outputs of this tool are valuable themselves, still the integration of results with insights from different tools (e.g. website data, transactional data and CRM insights) can make the most of it, helping decision makers to get the full picture.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Understanding main website friction points and golden conversion paths
- Measure behavioral user metrics on specific pages
- Prioritize issues impacting on conversion rates and revenues
- UX improvement and CRO Plan
- Adapt the layout of specific pages/assortment proposals based on interaction data

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hey Stefano,

 ### 21. Improve your business by understanding your users' behaviors

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

Understand user behaviors through a variety of features that are both quantitative and visual. It is possible to both formulate hypotheses, identify problems, and verify if they are confirmed. Communicating the results is also made easy thanks to highly visual elements that can be easily integrated into a presentation.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

The fact that the data must be anonymized makes the implementation complex. If we choose to make everything anonymous by default, then the keywords entered in the search engine, for example, are no longer visible, which makes analyzing the results impossible without context in the replay sessions.

The connection with traffic sources (SEA / SEO / ...) is not straightforward. Understanding where the user comes from before arriving on the site is not simple, even though it is a very important contextual data to understand user behaviors.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool allows you to understand the journeys and focus particularly on the one that interests you. A multitude of back-and-forths, for example, allows you to pinpoint a lack of clarity or a technical problem. If it is correlated with poor conversion metrics, then it means there is an issue you need to delve into to improve your business.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hi!

Thank you so much for sharing this thoughtful review. We are really glad to hear that the visual and quantitative insights help you form hypotheses, identify issues, and clearly communicate findings with your teams.

We also appreciate your honest feedback around data anonymisation and traffic source connections. Context is key when analysing user behaviour, and your points are well taken. This kind of input is incredibly valuable as we continue to improve the platform.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience!

 ### 22. Intuitive Analytics, Seamless AI Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan D. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I love the new products Contentsquare is releasing, like SENSE, where they're integrating AI. I'm particularly excited about connecting our Microsoft Copilot agent using their MCP server to query data without leaving the Microsoft Teams interface. The setup was very easy, as the support team at Contentsquare walked us through everything, from page mappings to the technical tagging side. Additionally, I really enjoy interacting with our customer success manager, which has been a great experience for us.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Sometimes if you get the wrong customer success manager, it can be a pain point.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to analyze user journeys and identify disruptions, it's invaluable for seeing how customers experience our site. It also integrates AI, reducing inefficiencies by letting us query data directly from Microsoft Teams, saving us time and resources for strategic work.

 ### 23. The tool that accompanies me daily!

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

It is a tool that helps me daily with my analyses, today I cannot do without this tool. All my reports and reporting are done via CS, it is practical, simple, ergonomic.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Sometimes there are bugs and I have to contact support, which is not convenient if I have something urgent to do. And I often have recommendations, but my interlocutors always take them into account!

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CS merch for brand analysis is really practical because before I had to use several tools at the same time, and today I have everything gathered in one single place.

 ### 24. A powerful tool to truly understand user behavior and optimize customer journeys

**Reviewed by:** Helene S. | Chef de projet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

What I like best about Contentsquare is the depth of behavioral insights and the very visual way it helps understand user experience.

The heatmaps, session replays, and especially the journey analysis make it easy to quickly identify friction points, drop-offs, and engagement drivers.

The platform goes far beyond traditional analytics by providing a strong qualitative understanding of user behavior. The dashboards are very comprehensive, and features like Sense AI save a lot of time by automatically highlighting optimization opportunities.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Contentsquare is extremely powerful, but it can feel complex at first.

There are a lot of features and metrics available, which can be a bit overwhelming for new users. A proper onboarding or training phase is clearly needed to fully leverage the platform.

Some advanced analyses also require time and setup to become truly relevant.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare helps us deeply understand why users behave the way they do on our website.

Before using it, we mainly relied on quantitative data such as conversion rates, bounce rates, and clicks, without clearly understanding the root causes.

With Contentsquare, we can:

- Identify real UX friction points

- Understand drop-offs in conversion funnels

- Visualize actual user behaviors

We're glad you're part of our community!

 ### 25. Intuitive AI Features with Fast Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pieter V. | E-Commerce CRO Expert, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I like the AI sense, especially within the zonings and page comparators, as it helps me gain a higher-level understanding of how much our sitewide experience is impacted. I appreciate the super fast learning curve and the great experts involved in the training setup, which made getting started with Contentsquare smooth and effective.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

The Sense Analyst needs to be prompted really well or it just doesn’t give the necessary information and is not applied to our retail model. I used it for a weekly scheduled performance digest, but sometimes it’s not accurate or what I ask.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare for daily monitoring, A/B test analysis, and reporting. It helps me understand the impact on our sitewide experience.

 ### 26. Deep Insights into Customer Behavior

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I like using Contentsquare for behavioral understanding of customers and diving deeper than just raw numbers. It's great for analyzing KPI dashboards and understanding the 'why' behind certain metrics. I enjoy being able to delve into actions, such as clicking on a specific element, and deep-diving into that particular action to see its value, frequency, and more. The initial setup was fairly easy from memory.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Clarity around how each metric is actually calculated, we have some which are revenue numbers, some which are page speed, etc., and it'd be nice to be clearer exactly how they are measured. It's probably my lack of understanding.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to understand customer behavior beyond raw numbers and create KPI dashboards. It helps uncover the reasons behind our metrics and spot user frustration points.

 ### 27. Insightful Analysis with Quick Bug Resolutions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I enjoy using AI Sense to see what answers it can come up with to help our own analysis. It's valuable as it can analyze lots of session replays and come back with key points, saving us a lot of time. Contentsquare helps us find what customers are engaging with and see what areas of the site aren’t working well. I often use zoning analysis and replay.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Sometimes run into bugs but these are usually quickly resolved. I would like the option to create lists of favorite products within the merchandising section.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to analyze customer behavior on our website, helping us identify what engages customers and what isn't working. The AI Sense feature efficiently analyzes session replays, highlighting key points and saving us a lot of time.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Viktoriia P.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I really like Contentsquare's very intuitive and easy interface. There are also lots of educational materials, which help to get on board quickly, and you can get into as much detail as you want or stay at a high-level view. It's great that different parts of our team can use it without needing to be data analysts, and it's always clear and visual, making it easy to share with stakeholders. You can always get to the details you want.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Sometimes, there are errors and we need to reach out to support, which is mainly related to technical setups. If you don't have a technical background, finding the root cause of the problem might require some time.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare for website performance analysis, understanding user journeys, zoning analysis to optimize content, and AB testing. It helps in identifying which parts of a page are performing well and optimizing for better conversions. It's effective for analyzing AB test variations in detail.

I am especially impressed by how effectively Contentsquare presents complex analytical data in a straightforward and accessible manner.

I like using Contentsquare to review customer shopping patterns, which helps measure how effective product list pages (PLPs) and product detail pages (PDPs) are, while identifying customer pain points to improve and meet KPIs. I appreciate that it lets me know where to start and what issues to focus on first, especially when I'm short on time to make changes. The zoning and heatmaps features are what I like most. They speed up finding issues, which is really valuable for me. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

the price, vs the size of the business and team

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to review customer shopping patterns and find pain points. It helps me quickly find issues with zoning and heatmaps, and prioritize changes effectively within short timeframes.

 ### 32. Empowered Journey Analysis, Needs Data Integration Clarity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah C. | Senior Digital Trade Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I use Contentsquare for looking at journeys and understanding friction points. I like the ability to overlay journey analysis on GA4 data, which helps me understand where we can improve journeys. The zoning feature is particularly beneficial for understanding page-level performance. I appreciate being able to analyze clicks on navigation and how they link to revenue. The impact analysis feature is also great.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

We need to decide what we use GA for and what we use Contentsquare for. Our setup wasn’t quite right, so I found it hard to trust the data.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to overlay journey analysis on GA4 data, understand friction points, and improve journeys. It helps me analyze page-level performance, link navigation clicks to revenue, and utilize impact analysis effectively.

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

Behavioral data is made available to everyone, in a simplified and accessible manner.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

The complexity of integrating the modules remains a challenging point, even though it has evolved quite a bit.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many problems related to frictions and the quantification of the impact, which makes it difficult to value the CRO internally.

 ### 34. Valuable Insights, But Limited Traffic Analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michele C. | Ecommerce Merchandiser, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

Love the tools to analyze site content and hone down on user sessions for real time site usability and identifying bugs. I also love the amount of webinars and trainings that Contentsquare offers on a regular basis. The support that these provide is so valuable and opens my mind to new ways to analyze data from my sites.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Amount of traffic being analyzed. I wish I could see more traffic analyzed or at the least have disclaimers throughout the platform for the amount of traffic that is being analyzed. Data is still relevant with less traffic, but it's good to keep it in check.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate Contentsquare's attention to detail and constant effort for improvement. I'm always hearing a new update has rolled out and any time I have opened an issue ticket, I hear back within the same day. **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dylan H.

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I find that Contentsquare is an intuitive tool. The plug-in is very practical and very easy to use. I really appreciate the ability to collaborate on zonings and on journey analyses in advance with my users, which I find very powerful.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

I would say that what is missing is the integration of AI directly into the plug-in within the website to be able to ask it questions and for it to recommend analyses based on the question directly in the plug-in.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare for behavioral analysis thanks to the plugins on my e-commerce site and the integrated dashboards to track my business activity. It helps me prioritize design initiatives, categorize them in Jira Discovery, and saves me a lot of time in decision-making.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

All of the additional modules come at an extra cost so some features like error reports might not be available to all customers.

In my last role, CS was great for filling in gaps where metrics weren't able to be tracked and to look at menu interactions. Zoning analysis is very easy to understand and share with stakeholders to help inform data driven decisions.

 ### 37. Empowers In-Depth Data Analysis with Ease

On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate my likelihood to recommend Contentsquare as a 10.

I use Contentsquare for analyzing customer behavior and comparing different locales to drive product decisions, easing the processing of vast amounts of data.

 ### 39. Insightful Analytics with Room for Better Usability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shani Lynn R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I like how the AI agent allows me to just ask a question instead of doing loads of searching. It's really helpful that in a minute, it tells me where people are exiting and what they're struggling with.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

I think the journey analysis view with all the circles is just not accessible. I think it could do with some more obvious labeling and call out insights. A lil tricky I found the training quite hard to follow it was quite advanced.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to check my content designs' efficiency and engagement. It helps me identify user journey struggles and attract content. The AI answers questions quickly, showing where users exit and struggle, saving me time.

I love how easy it is to use Contentsquare and how the insights can give real impact with revenue. The setup was easy for us, even though we set it up back in 2018/19 when it was a very different product.

I'm on a cheaper package currently, which means I don't have access to acquisition or error signals.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

Everything. This far surpasses any UX tool I’ve used, and their acquisition of Hotjar has made it even easier to see what my customers are doing on my website. Content Square also hosts amazing events that help you understand how others are getting the most out of the system to fuel their strategy. They’re an innovative software company that’s always on the front foot when it comes to digital intelligence. Implementation is made simple thanks to their excellent customer support, which means the team can use it frequently to gather insight.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

There's nothing I dislike about Contentsquare.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding how customers are behaving to link in with wider business intelligence and commercial drivers.

 ### 43. Powerful Tool, Slightly Overwhelming for New Users

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Helen G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I love how vast Contentsquare is, making it incredibly useful for finding digital insights. It's particularly easy to find out what customers are encountering on the website when they have issues. The session replays are so helpful in identifying issues in customer journeys.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

I think there's so much in there to use, but it's a bit overwhelming for someone not used to it. Almost too much information. I think the design could be changed to make it more easy. The names of the modules aren't always easy to understand what they'll show you.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare helps me find issues customers encounter on our website and identify problems in their journey using session replays.

I like the live app in Contentsquare where I can click on click rates. This helps us see what is clicked most, helping us decide what we should invest time in.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Sometimes the setup is very complex. There is a need to make it more clear and reduce the necessity for all the sessions. Also, a lot of training was needed for the initial setup.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to analyze PDPS and get VOC where customers saw the product cheaper elsewhere. The live app shows what is clicked most, helping us know what to invest time in.

 ### 45. Effortlessly Identifies Dropout Points and Boosts CTR

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juliet L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I find Contentsquare incredibly useful for understanding how customers navigate through our site and identifying where they drop off, which helps us decide what content isn't engaging and where to optimize. We've noticed improvements in both our click-through rate (CTR) and conversion rate (CVR) thanks to the insights gained. I really like the ease and simplicity of the tool; it's intuitive enough that anyone can use it without being an expert. Another standout feature is Sense AI, which allows us to get to answers quickly.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Nothing comes to mind, the tool is very intuitive

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare helps us understand customer navigation, identify drop-off points, optimize content engagement, and improve CTR and CVR.

 ### 46. Insightful and Efficient, But Learning Curve for New Users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ed W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I find Contentsquare to be very insightful and love how efficient it has become with the use of Sense. I use zoning analysis a lot to understand the biggest boosts in conversion rate on certain landing pages. The initial setup was very easy, and I mostly used the page and product performance modes, which were very easy.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

It can be time consuming to create mappings/segments/goals. It can, at times, not be user-friendly for new users. Perhaps making the menus a bit easier to navigate.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare for customer experience insights and boosting conversion rates. It helps quickly troubleshoot issues if there's a drop in conversion rates or other metrics.

 ### 47. Effortless to Use and Packed with Powerful Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ozzy R.

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I like that Contentsquare is very easy to get up to speed on for beginners and is powerful for expert users. Its easy-to-use interface and visual tools simplify understanding user behavior, which is essential for new hires and new team members. For seasoned users, the advanced funnel and journey analysis, along with granular insights of our web pages, are very beneficial. I also appreciate the better features and better support compared to our previous tool, Crazy Egg. The initial setup was very easy, and the support team is keen to take new suggestions and continuously improve the product.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

I wished it worked better in the Firefox browser

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Contentsquare to see how visitors interact with our website. It makes it easy to identify areas that are difficult to use. The tool is beginner-friendly with an intuitive interface, yet offers advanced funnel analysis and detailed insights for expert users, enhancing our team's capabilities.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

 ### 48. Comprehensive Tool with Intuitive Dashboards, Room for AI Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sophie C.

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I love the benchmark feature in Contentsquare, as it lets me see how well I'm doing against my peers. Dashboards have become really easy to set up and share with colleagues, which is super handy. The impact quantification is amazing, especially with the right integration for personalizations and A/B tests. The text seen segmentation has been super useful for quick checks this year, even when tagging isn't fully implemented. Plus, everything is generally easy to use, comparing different periods is simple, and creating segments is very intuitive. Once you understand how a module works, it's pretty straightforward to dive deeper into any issues.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

I would love to see the benchmarking feature on all my properties. I would love if we could do multiple comparisons in a dashboard (e.g., look at different time frames and different segments). At the moment, I'm not finding the AI very helpful (but I really love the session replay recaps, these are a real time saver). I'm not a fan of the zoning module now that it's gone through a lot of changes. The auto-creation of screenshots is creating more screenshots than I need and the zoning panel on the right doesn't really add much (for me at least). It was so long ago, I'm not sure I remember everything. I do remember the learning curve was a bit steep at the beginning, but once you got a hang of it, it got easier.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Contentsquare easier to use than GA4 for analyzing user journeys and identifying pain points. It provides fast impact quantification for A/B tests. The benchmarking, dashboards, and intuitive segmentation enhance performance insights and collaboration.

**Official Response from Isabel Sauer:**

> Hi Sophie,

Your notes on Zoning, AI and comparisons are incredibly helpful and will guide our ongoing improvements.

It means a lot that you shared your experience with us. Thanks again!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Contentsquare?**

I love the simplicity of Contentsquare and the way the AI view allows me to save time analyzing data. The AI view helps me to more easily identify areas ignored by visitors, which is particularly useful for understanding a high bounce rate. The initial installation of Contentsquare was also easy, which made the integration very smooth.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Some filters could be more intuitive, particularly the segmentation by device.

**What problems is Contentsquare solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contentsquare resolves friction and saves me time by offering an AI view that helps me delve into data and identify areas ignored by visitors, such as those with a high bounce rate.

The account teams are really good to work with, and I've had a seamless experience with the web setup. I also appreciate the all-rounded digital experience tools that provide more value for money and app support.

**What do you dislike about Contentsquare?**

Mobile app - can be improved a lot.
