What do you like best about Contentsquare?

What do you dislike about Contentsquare?

The export and manipulation of raw data sometimes remains limited, which complicates cross-analysis with other data sources (like Piwik Pro in my case). More flexibility in APIs and custom exports would be appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Contentsquare?

I like the ease of access to data and insights that Contentsquare provides, as it means more people in the business can make data-informed decisions. What do you dislike about Contentsquare?

Page mappings are a bit of a pain. I have some problems with zoning where I sometimes need to add unique ids. This is an unfortunate overhead in my context. Mappings can get complex with lots of exclusion rules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Contentsquare?

I really like the opportunity to Contentsquare data via Microsoft Copilot - it's a game changer that reduces the number of different platforms we need to use for reporting. With CSQ MCP and Microsoft Copilot, out team can create a simple prompt and pull data directly without ever leaving the platform, which is usually very time consuming. This integration will help us streamline reporting, save significant amount of time and focus more on strategic work that has real impact. The initial ContentSquare setup was extremely straight forward, between the customer success manager and the technical support teams, we were able to get it all setup with minimal interuption to BAU. What do you like best about Contentsquare?

I used Contentsquare primarily for journey mapping, heat maps, and session replays. I liked being able to track when customers were logging in, moving between screens, or entering checkout and where they encountered friction . The journey mapping feature helped track customer behavior throughout the checkout process, identifying where they clicked and which fields they interacted with. This understanding of confusion points was valuable. The session replay feature was also impressive as it provided an end-to-end view of the customer's journey from pre-checkout through to purchase or dropout, offering a visual insight into customer actions. What do you dislike about Contentsquare?

The learning curve was a little bit steep, especially for setting up the journey mapping tool, which didn't work out of the box and required some configuration. We needed help configuring it because the skill level within the team wasn't quite up to using it to its full capability initially. The process took a while before we could use it effectively. Also, Contentsquare is quite a pricey option, which affected our ability to get budget approval in a previous role. What do you like best about Contentsquare?

I use Contentsquare for making informed decisions with experiments, quarterly planning, and reporting on errors. It enables us to move quicker, answer questions, and discover the unknown. I particularly appreciate the journey analysis feature as it has allowed us to validate bugs that wouldn’t have been caught otherwise. For example, our newsletter pop-up fired when it shouldn’t have, and while this didn’t generate as an error, we were able to see that this was happening to users. I like how comprehensive Contentsquare is, especially the wide breadth of data it collects. The fact that I can break down to the session replay level, or group performances by different zonings and segments, really helps me figure out which areas of the site perform well and which need improvements. What could be improved is the customization of sessions and building blocks that make the metrics to align with other platforms or to our own version of that metric. I use Contentsquare to find points of friction, frustration, and positive interactions alongside visual context. Contentsquare is excellent for putting the visual alongside the context, allowing us to look at content in parallel with the data to make informed decisions across wide date ranges and different markets. My favorite aspect of Contentsquare is their continued development—they work to create or integrate a wide variety of tools and are always looking for new ways to analyze and utilize data. Their amazing team supports this explorative approach, ensuring we have first-hand confidence in the platform. The new AI Sense tool is especially impressive; it uses AI to explore complex prompts and provides actionable summaries based on true personal data, which is game-changing. I like the Engagement tool in Contentsquare as it helps me see which features' problems should be prioritized. It plots features on a simple chart that clearly highlights which ones should be a priority. I find it makes understanding usability problems easier compared to a tool like Google Analytics. What do you dislike about Contentsquare?

Selecting the right events to create a journey is challenging. It would be better if I could track my own events through a journey and have Contentsquare create a journey out of them at the same time. It's hard to differentiate between my events and others' events when on a shared network. I'm still learning how to use it, and it's quite a steep learning curve. What do you like best about Contentsquare?

I use Contentsquare to analyze and monitor our website performance, and it effectively fills in the gap between quantitative and qualitative data. It's extremely quick and easy to access the data. I really like the AI tools because they make it easy for non-technical users to access insights. The frequent product updates have increased efficiency, which is a big plus. Contentsquare offered a better user experience compared to Decibel Insight, and the initial setup was very easy. Overall, I find these aspects of Contentsquare valuable in my work. A more laborious part of the tool is ensuring your mappings are correctly setup which ensure your website pages are correctly grouped. Where this forms most of the foundations of all your data points and analysis it is critical this is done correctly, and often the user interface to do this on is not the clearest.
