I appreciate that 8x8 Work is a cloud-based product, which eliminates the need to set up firewall rules like VLANs and port forwarding, making it much easier to use. The prices are very reasonable too. I like the newer feature of sites from the older admin console, which allows better compliance with E911 regulations. As an admin, it makes my job easier and faster to assign users to a site, and if they move, I can swap them easily since changing sites automatically updates the extension prefix and E911 address. The initial setup was great; we ported most numbers to save money and tested them thoroughly before porting the main number. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Creating other admins is problematic. There seems to be only one 'master admin' who can do more certain things that a normal admin can't do. Also, you have to select the user three different times for admin because you can't just assign an admin as all admin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

8x8 makes it extremely easy to send instant messages and make VoIP calls with colleagues. I also appreciate how quickly you can create and join meetings right from within the application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reporting options for ring groups could be improved, as they are currently not the most comprehensive.

8x8 Work has been a great communication solution for our team. It brings calls, video meetings, team chat, and messaging into one easy-to-use platform, which has significantly improved how we collaborate day to day.
Call quality is consistently reliable, whether we’re on desktop or mobile, and the video conferencing features are straightforward and stable. The chat functionality makes quick collaboration easy, and the ability to switch seamlessly between chat, voice, and video is a big plus.

I use 8x8 Work as a full UCaaS platform for day-to-day communications, handling voice, calling, team chat, video meetings, SMS, and faxing all in one place. The integration with Microsoft Teams makes it easy to manage calls and messages without switching between apps. I love the calling experience, with HD voice quality being a huge upgrade from our old systems, and it's been very reliable. Additionally, the video calling runs smoothly with great audio quality, making meetings seamless. Whenever I've needed help, the support team has been great to work with. I'd like to see more support based in the USA. While the overseas support team is usually helpful and communicates well, sometimes it's easier and quicker to work with someone local who understands the environment and time zones. The initial setup was tough. The foreign based support teams did not communicate an efficient way to migrate data from our old system to the new system. If I knew now what I didn't know back then I probably could have cut the setup time in half. Once it was up and running it's been solid but the rollout definitely had a learning curve. The UI is easy to navigate with most needed features easy to reach. I like the voicemail transcription and chat features too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The desktop software (exe version) claims to self update according to the documentation, but I've never seen this work reliably in my experience, I have to manually download the updates every couple months. This can be a frustrating experience when our call center agents start missing calls in the middle of a workday due to the software just glitching out until the newer version is installed. I utilize 8x8 Work every day and it's an integral part of my job. I like that 8x8 Work has the ability to add contact information to my account, so when repeat customers call, their call is identified by their contact information. It makes personalizing my calls so much easier. In addition, when I have questions or concerns, the customer support reps are quick to assist and get answers for me. The main advantages of 8x8 Work lie in its simplicity. Having simple and easy-to-use features is essential to me, as it allows us to work quickly and efficiently, giving us more time for other tasks.
Additionally, my experience with the support team when seeking advice has been excellent. The help center website is also well constructed and very furnished if you need to find information to resolve potential issues by yourself.
Another standout feature is the platform’s ease of use and seamless integration. It’s incredibly straightforward to set up, and it integrates smoothly with other tools we’re already using (such as Microsoft Teams).

I enjoy being able to use my 8x8 service on my VOIP desk phone, my PC, my traveling tablet and my smartphone. I have been using the service for more than 14 years and i appreciate the continuing product/software development. I am very happy with of the 8x8 VOIP system and its ability to take care of my business needs!
