# What’s the Best Video Conferencing App for Small Businesses?

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hi everyone, </p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">I’m looking into reliable video conferencing tools that work well for small businesses. Key priorities are ease of use, clear audio/video quality, and pricing that makes sense for lean teams. Whether it’s for daily stand-ups, client calls, or remote collaboration, I’d love to get your input.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Here are a few options I’ve come across on G2's <a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/categories/video-conferencing">video conferencing</a> software page:</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/google-meet/reviews">Google Meet</a></p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">It's straightforward and easy to access, especially if your team already uses Google Workspace. It runs directly in the browser, supports screen sharing and live captions, and doesn’t require app downloads. It's great for teams that value simplicity and quick setup.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/zoom-workplace/reviews">Zoom Workplace</a></p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">A well-known favorite, Zoom delivers strong video quality and reliable performance even on lower bandwidths. It includes breakout rooms, webinar capabilities, and integrations with CRMs and calendars. The free plan is generous, though meetings are capped at 40 minutes.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/microsoft-teams/reviews">Microsoft Teams</a></p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">If you're using Microsoft 365, Teams is already part of your toolkit. It combines video conferencing with chat, file sharing, and calendar tools, making it a more all-in-one solution. That said, it might feel a bit complex if all you need is video calling.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/skype/reviews">Skype</a></p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Skype still works well for small teams needing simple video and audio calls. It’s easy to use and doesn’t require extensive onboarding. While it lacks some of the newer features found in tools like Zoom or Teams, it’s dependable and free for most use cases.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true"><a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www.g2.com/products/zoho-meeting/reviews">Zoho Meeting</a></p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Designed with small businesses in mind, Zoho Meeting offers secure meetings and webinars, browser-based access, and recording features. It integrates nicely if you’re already in the Zoho ecosystem and tends to be more budget-friendly compared to bigger platforms.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">If you’ve used any of these tools for your business, what’s worked well—or not so well? Are there hidden costs, deal-breaking limitations, or standout features worth knowing? Appreciate any insights you can share!</p>

One thing I&#39;d add is that the &quot;best&quot; solution depends on whether you need a meeting platform or a communication feature inside your own product. Tools like Zoom, Google Meet and Teams are great for internal meetings and client calls, but businesses building telehealth, education or collaboration platforms often look at video APIs and SDKs instead. I&#39;ve seen teams evaluate options such as MirrorFly, Twilio and Agora when they want more control over the user experience rather than sending users to a separate meeting app.

For a typical small business, Google Meet and Zoom are usually the easiest starting points. For software companies building communication features into their products, the requirements are often very different.
