"Secure, Easy File Sharing with Powerful Access Control and Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

As a regular user of Progress ShareFile, I like the combination of secure file sharing, access management, and ease of use. It provides a convenient way to exchange files with internal and external users while keeping the process organized and controlled. I also appreciate that it supports automation and integrations, which makes it useful not only for day-to-day file sharing but also for more structured business workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

One area I find challenging with Progress ShareFile is that some administrative tasks and integrations can require more effort than expected. When working with APIs, automation, user or group management, and configuration changes, troubleshooting can sometimes be difficult because the errors or logs do not always provide enough detail to quickly identify the root cause. Better diagnostics, clearer documentation, and a more consistent administrative experience would make the product easier to support and automate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Large-File Collection, but Setup and Permissions Need Work"
4/5
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I find the file request link useful. It lets me request documents without asking clients to navigate our folder structure, and clients can upload large batches without splitting them into smaller files, so I don’t have to piece them back together. I also like that I can set an expiration date for shareable links. Upload status notifications let me know when requested paperwork arrives without repeatedly opening the folder, so I can pick work back up when a missing document was holding it up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

I find the setup quite difficult. Creating the account and uploading files are simple, but setting up the folder structure, staff access, and consistent folder names took us around three days. Some clients are unsure whether they have finished uploading or need to take another step. I’d like a more prominent completion message showing exactly which files were received, so I get fewer confirmation emails. With several staff members involved, I also have to double-check who can access each client folder. A clearer “view as this user” option would make it easier to verify access before sharing files. "Reliable Dealer File Sharing, but Permissions Need Oversight"
4/5
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I like Progress ShareFile’s upload request link, having one current folder per dealer segment, and the download notification. Sending a link instead of an attachment fixed the problem with files not coming through. Setup was easy, and the vendor onboarding rep walked me through external user rights on a call. We were fully live in about two weeks, and it’s been running clean for about a year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

I find the permissions flexible in a way that means I have to stay vigilant. There are no clean presets, so when a dealer contact leaves and someone new takes over, I manually recheck which folders the account can still access. A simple access summary per external user and a nudge when an address goes domain would save me from checking everything manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure, Efficient File Sharing with Minor Hurdles"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I use Progress ShareFile to securely share, store, and access business documents with my team. It makes file sharing simple and secure. Secure file sharing helps protect sensitive documents while making it easy to collaborate with colleagues and clients. I like its secure file sharing, easy-to-use interface, and the ability to access and manage documents from anywhere. The intuitive interface makes it simple to upload, organize, and access files quickly, saving time and improving productivity. The initial setup was straightforward, and we were able to start using it quickly with minimal configuration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

I find the interface could be more intuitive, and I notice file uploads can occasionally be slower than expected. Improving performance and navigation would make the experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fradulent billing. Unauthorized $$$ charges. Bonehead "support""

What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

Nothing. It used to be an okay service when it was created and managed by Citrix. Not anymore Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

This company does not have any moral or ethical principles or any common sense at all.

It starts with me subscribing to the premium package at $85 per month on a monthly basis, month to month. I enter the credit card and get the access and start designing my company's branding.

The next thing is I receive an invoice for $936, which is the annual subscription, which I never subscribed to. I start communicating with their support and I'm shocked to discover that their support neither cares nor even understands what the problem is.

They all are sitting in Bangalore, India, where the time of people is worth zero. They say, "Well we reviewed your account and it looks like it was billed an annual subscription price." Well duh, I kind of know that but how did you dare to charge my card and issue a fraudulent invoice for an annual subscription when I only offered you $85 per month on a month-by-month basis?

Then I escalated to their Legal and Sales department and it takes them a long time to even understand what the problem is. After long exchanges that lead nowhere, what it ends up being is that the India-based support sends me an email that we refunded your $936 and we also canceled your account. I spent a tremendous amount of time creating the branding and the look and feel for my clients. A tremendous amount of time, tremendous investment, and this is all lost. No apologies, no compensation offered, nothing. I've never worked with a company that is supposedly a publicly traded company with such a extreme incompetence, no common sense, no decency, no ethics. "It's a lot more than just cloud storage"
5/5
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I use Progress ShareFile because I need a secure way to manage file permissions, share documents with my team, and connect everything with some of the other systems we already use. At first, I thought it would just be another cloud storage platform, but it turns out it offers a lot more than I expected. One of the features I rely on the most is Data Rooms along with the advanced permission controls. We work on projects where different people need different levels of access, so it's reassuring to know exactly who can view, download, or edit each file. I also like the direction they've taken with document automation and approval workflows. Those features feel like a natural extension of the platform instead of something that was added just because every software company is trying to add more features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

The only thing I'd mention is the pricing. If you're actually using the security features, permission controls, document workflows, and everything else it offers, it's pretty easy to see where the money goes. But if all you need is somewhere to store files, there are definitely cheaper alternatives. For me, though, it's the extra features that make it worth paying for. They save us time, keep everything organized, and give us a lot more control over how we share documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Secure, Easy, But Needs Faster Navigation"
5/5
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

I like how easy it is to securely share and manage files using Progress ShareFile. It's simple to use, reliable, and makes collaboration more convenient. The initial setup was mostly easy, and it was straightforward to get started. The team was able to learn the basics without any difficulty. I also use it alongside tools like Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams, which works well for my needs. Additionally, we switched to Progress ShareFile for better security and easier file management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

I think the speed and ease of navigation could be improved. Sometimes I find it takes a little more time to locate files or complete some activities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Transfers for Massive Audio Files"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

Honestly, the best part is how easily it handles massive files. At Pocket FM, we’re constantly sending heavy audio masters, sound design files, and huge scripts back and forth with external voice actors and producers, and ShareFile makes transferring these giant files really smooth. We don’t have to worry about email attachment limits, or deal with links expiring before a creator has a chance to download everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

The desktop sync tool can be pretty glitchy sometimes. Since we work with huge, heavy audio masters and sound design files, we rely on the sync app a lot. Sometimes it lags or takes way too long to refresh and show files that someone just uploaded. When we're on a tight production deadline to get a show out, waiting for files to sync is super frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"After all these years, it's still easy to use."
5/5
What do you like best about Progress ShareFile?

ShareFile is still a great tool for sharing files securely. The new site design is visually appealing and intuitive. The file system is easy to understand. Adding or deleting files is quick and painless. By far, the easiest file-sharing software I have used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress ShareFile?

There aren't any downsides I can think of. The software still does what it is supposed to do. The only slightly annoying thing is having to log in to the system again after a period of inactivity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
